I highlighted a portion, and wonder what you think he meant.

1. Disarm = lull the U.S. into a sense of false security.

2. Disarm = literally take our guns.

3. Disarm = something else.

Personally, I haven't made my mind up yet as to what I think he meant.

That is a good question. Even though I put the quote there, I hadn't considered that part of it before.

Giving it some though, I personally think about it as meaning "D) All of the above". In the sense that they want us disarmed in every manner you can think of so we are weak in every sense. Our rights weakened, our military weakened, our culture weakened, our economy weakened etc.

I would say that to get the best answer to your question, you'd need to get the speech as spoken in Russian and then have a native Russian speaker translate it for you since although certain Russian words translate into certain English words, the Russian word may have a specific meaning when used in a certain context.
