Obama Tells Entrepreneurs 'You Didn't Build' Your Business

That sound you hear is silence—as millions of small business owners and entrepreneurs were left speechless this weekend from President Obama's latest insult.

The slap in the face to hard-working Americans conveyed Obama's belief that it takes a village—a heavily subsidized village—to create that venture you're profiting from:
Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business—you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen.
Obama pushed his policy goals of infrastructure (aka stimulus) spending and "government research" as part of a collectivist utopia "doing things together." It's simply stunning that he would tell Americans, "If you've got a business—you didn't build that."

After all, could individuals be resourceful and hard-working enough to create whole new enterprises?
    Obama said:
Look, if you've been successful, you didn't get there on your own. You didn't get there on your own. I'm always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart.
It is this view of successful businesses—essentially, "You owe us"—that drives Obama's continued attacks on the country's job creators in the form of tax hikes and regulations.

It's a tough time to be a business owner and entrepreneur in America. Surveys show small business owners are struggling, and they are not expanding or hiring because of tax and regulatory uncertainty. Federal agencies, from Health and Human Services to the Environmental Protection Agency, are regulating them to death. And just last week, President Obama announced his latest economic plan was to hit job creators with a tax increase.

The President's plan to raise taxes on earnings above $200,000 ($250,000 for joint filers) would hit 1.2 million small-business employers who pay their taxes through the individual income tax, known as flow-through businesses. These businesses that are creating jobs earn almost all—91 percent—of the income earned by flow-through employer-businesses.
The new tax increase could be equivalent to one employee per small business. According to calculations by The Heritage Foundation's Center for Data Analysis, the average American with $250,000 or more in income can expect an average$24,888 tax increase next year under Obama's proposed policies. That $24,888 figure is often enough for a salary. So the President could be putting about 1.2 million jobs—perhaps even more—at risk with this tax hike.
Hitting private job creators while advocating more stimulus spending and government jobs. That's the President's plan for the economy.
Meanwhile, businesses large and small suffer from the highest corporate tax rate in the developed world. This has long made the U.S. an uncompetitive place for new investment and has driven new jobs to other, more competitive nations, meaning fewer jobs and lower wages for all Americans.
If the U.S. is to see economic recovery, we must encourage entrepreneurship. Stopping the biggest tax increase in American history, Taxmageddon, would be a good place to start. It's a $494 billion tax hike set to hit on January 1, when a number of tax policies expire and just a few of Obamacare's new taxes kick in. Businesses are already hesitating on hiring decisions because of the impending effects of these taxes.
Democratic leaders are demanding tax hikes, however, andthreatening to allow Taxmageddon for the sake of politics—despite warnings that it would send the U.S. back into recession.
Real recovery will take even more than saving job creators from punishing taxes and regulations. It requires leadership that appreciates and values the long hours that America's business builders put in and the personal sacrifices they make for their dreams. It will take leaders who say, "If you've got a business—you built that. And we want more of that in America."

Can anyone else sense an escalation in acts essentially transforming our nation? The subtlety in which Obama and his evil horde once operated has been jettisoned in favor of expeditious progress. It's similar to driving in a car really fast through a populated area. If you blink or look the other way, you'll miss something. I guess it makes a certain amount of sense to do these things quickly while the American people are too dumbfounded to organize or too apathetic to care.

This goes back to the Zero sum school of thought by liberals.

If I make a buck, you must lose a buck. If someone else got rich, someone had to get poor. No one can make it on their own, only the government can create winners and losers.

I wish Reagan would rise from the dead and start eating brains.

It is physically, emotionally, philosophically and spiritually impossible for me to be more ashamed and embarrassed that this jackass is our president. It makes me want to go around to each and every one of the morons in my office who voted for him and punch them right in the nose.

I'm afraid that this comes down to "Remove him from Office".

    The sooner, the better.

He is an embarrassment to this country and this is something I would not have ever said about a President, ever. As much as I didn't like Carter, I disliked Clinton even more, but I never SAID that about them. I've said I doin't LIKE them, never they were an embarrassment to this country.

Obama is a Socialist, a race-baiting racist, anti-American and he is an EMBARRASSMENT to this country.

There is almost nothing invented by committee. Behind every product, invention, machine, whatever, there was one person who did the heavy lifting. They certainly built upon the work of others, but they brought something together in a new way that required new thinking. Even in the coolest games, there is one core component that makes everything work...that particular piece of code was written by one guy. Sure he used the device driver from another team and the I/O from another and the models and textures from yet another, but his code pulled it all together and without these people nothing ever gets changed or improved.

The same applies to business. There are core individuals who are responsible for the well being of a company. They are the ones that create and maintain the critical path. When the business is small, it's one person who gambles it all to get the business up to a point that it can afford to hire others to help.

Does it surprise anyone that a president who has never held a job or created a business doesn't understand this? His entire life has been in the supporting cast and crew. He's spent his life following the direction of key individuals and _VALUES_ his work equal to theirs. What he fails to understand is that if you're not actively managing the critical path, you're entirely replaceable.

    What a clueless dickbag.

You know, it's funny. If anyone's noticed, Zero needs TOTUS to actually sound normal. Whenever he goes off prompter his inner Marxist comes shining through. This comment, his comment to Joe Wurzelbacher, and a number of others are perfect examples.

Obama calls 'you didn't build that' furor 'bogus,' as Romney releases new ad

    Published July 20, 2012
    FoxNews.com

President Obama, one week after his controversial "you didn't build that" remark, claimed Friday that the criticism he's taking from Republicans is "bogus."

Though Republicans say the president was implying that business owners didn't build their businesses, Obama said he was just talking about roads and bridges.

In an interview with WCTV-TV in Tallahassee that aired Friday, Obama said: "What I said was together we build roads and we build bridges."

He added: "That's the point I've made millions of times, and by the way, that's a point Mr. Romney has made as well, so this is just a bogus issue."

That's not the explanation that initially came from the Obama campaign when it was first asked about the speech last Friday in Roanoke, Va.

The fresh pushback from Obama comes as Mitt Romney and Republicans escalate attacks over the comment. Romney's campaign announced Friday that it was releasing a new TV ad, which is a condensed version of the scathing web video released a day earlier on the comment.

The ad features a New Hampshire business owner criticizing Obama for the remark. "My father's hands didn't build this company? My hands didn't build this company? Through hard work and a little bit of luck, we built this business. Why are you demonizing us for it?" he asks.

The Obama campaign on Thursday started to push back, claiming the president's quote was taken out of context. It released a web video of its own accusing Romney of launching a "false attack." The video showed Romney reading the selected "you didn't build that" quote, then said: "That's not what he said."

Here's what Obama said last Friday:

"There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me because they want to give something back," the president said. "If you've been successful, you didn't get there on your own. You didn't get there on your own. I'm always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something -- there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.

"If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business, you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen," he said. "The Internet didn't get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet."

While Obama now claims the "you didn't build that" was in reference to roads and bridges, that's also not the only section of the speech that Republicans have taken issue with.

The video released Thursday by the Romney campaign included the section in which Obama said he was "struck" by business people who think they succeeded "because I was just so smart."

Romney said Thursday in Massachusetts that the remarks were "not a gaffe."

"It was instead his ideology," Romney said. "The president in fact believes that people who build enterprises like this really are not responsible for it, that in fact it is a collective success of the whole society that somehow builds enterprises like this. In my view we ought to celebrate people who start enterprises and employ people."
The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Obama hasn't got a damned clue. Let me show you something.

"Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet."

    This is entirely NOT TRUE.

DARPA came up with the Internet. It wasn't called Internet yet, and they didn't DO it so "companies could make money".

They DID it to diversify communications!

This is where the leadership in the Democrat party want to take America:

French to raise top tax rate to shocking 75%

Wealthy Frenchmen will soon be taxed 75% on their income if French President Francois Hollande gets his way.

Samuel Blackstone, Business Insider August 3, 2012 14:28

Francois Hollande, the newly elected socialist president of France, looks set to achieve one of his main campaign goals and will impose a 75 percent tax rate on people earning more than $1.23 million per year, reports the Washington Post.

It's thought that the tax, which is a marked increase from the previous rate of 48 percent, will be implemented by next year, according to AFP.

Ministers have said that the tax will be temporary, and is part of a plan to balance France's books by 2017. Taxes already introduced are thought to be bringing in $8.7 billion this year.

Élie Choen, a past economic advisor for Sarkozy and Hollande, explained that the motivation was more political than financial, when talking with the Washington Post.

"From a strictly economic point of view, I wouldn’t recommend these policies," he said. "But that’s not what this is. This is clearly designed to create some kind of consensus in this country for structural reforms.”

By increasingly taxing the wealthy, Hollande hopes to garner increased support for increased austerity measures. Government spending cuts have begun in efforts to meet a plan to balance the budget by 2017 and are sure to continue. In effect, this move will serve as political points and an "I told you so" moment for Hollande's future socialism inspired policies.

As many wealthy French citizens bemoan the hike, wealthy Americans are doing the same to a proposed Obama tax hike from 35 percent to 40 percent currently being deliberated in Congress. Even ardent Obama supporters who understand and are willing to front the bill for the tax hike, including Hollywood actor Will Smith, are amazed and aghast at the French plan.

As Will Smith put it, "75!...God bless America"!
