It sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie: human skin, made by a machine. At the Fraunhofer Institute in Stuttgart, it is becoming reality.
Researchers produce three-dimensional skin, using cells from human skin.
The process is expected to pave the way for a new era, in which human tissue could be used for anything from cosmetics testing to organ reconstruction.

This is very cool, they also mentioned using the robots to build more complex organs. I know the UofM is working on growing organs in a lab as well. They plan on growing a heart in the next few years, if I remember correctly. I think being able to grow skin would benefit far more people though. I really like the idea of burn victims someday getting new skin and a new lease on life.

The extent people will go to in order to make the perfect sex doll astounds me.
Re: Robots produce human skin in flesh factory
This would be far better way to patch inflatable "date" doll than the current "flesh" colored bandaids!
Re: Robots produce human skin in flesh factory
Do the Japanese know about this? Last I heard, they were the world leaders in realistic sex doll production, at least according to HBO's Real Sex.
Re: Robots produce human skin in flesh factory
Pretty soon women as we know them will be made useless. No more nagging, no more "headaches", etc., etc.
Stepford Wife here I come! :D
