Next-Generation Flash Mobs: The Breakdown of Law & Order

As local police departments cut personnel due to excessive spending and budgetary restrictions, cities all across America are rapidly degenerating into gang infested war zones.
In the city of Chicago, which has been one of the hardest hit during the opening stages of a greater depression sweeping the country, law enforcement officials compared the situation on the ground to the kind of tribal warfare one might see in places like Iraq. With law and order breaking down, residents of the city have been caught in the middle. The crime wave has gotten so bad, in fact, that earlier this year the Chicago PD announced a new response plan, or rather, a NON-response plan, wherein police will not even show up at crime scenes unless someone has been critically injured or the perpetrator is still on the scene.
This, of course, has been a boon for criminals looking to take advantage of the situation. And earlier this week they did just that.
Unbelievable surveillance video captured flash mobs dashing into store after store and running out with armloads and sometimes entire racks of sporting goods. Some city officials in Chicago have even appealed to the state and federal government for help, recently calling for martial law to be declared and for the military to intervene.
…
It’s like a next-generation flash mob. Originally, flash mob referred to a group of people doing a performance to draw attention to something in a positive way. The term gave way to a more sinister motive.
“They used to just be fun. They used to just be positive and now, I don’t know, it seems to have turned into something negative,” said one shopper.
No one was hurt in the three incidents, though it’s clear the mob stops for no one.
This is the state of affairs in the U.S., and the organized crime waves are spreading.
Residents in suburbs of Oakland and Houston have been forced to hire private security teams to help maintain law and order in their neighborhoods, while millions of Americans across the country are arming up in those jurisdictions that allow firearms ownership.
Chicago, it seems, is an example of what happens when law and order breaks down and residents have no way of protecting themselves because of restrictive gun laws.
A look at the surveillance footage above shows how indiscriminately a large mob of individuals behaves. As Tess Pennington notes in her preparedness series on Flash Mobs, if you ever encounter a flash mob threat, remember who you are dealing with:
For the most part the participants of these mobs are urban delinquents whose only goal is to steal and cause violence. The recent events in Chicago involve teens and young adults looking to steal apparel.
What happens when these groups finally realize they can get a lot more than that?
It’s only a matter of time before the contagion spreads to more serious criminal elements that will target individuals directly in the form of flash mob robberies in places like subway cars, banks, or jewelry stores. And as their efforts go unchecked by police, they will likely increase in scope and violence.
In 2011, a large flash mob targeted patrons of the Wisconsin State Fair. Witnesses report that the racially motivated mob involving hundreds of individuals was, “attacking everybody for no reason whatsoever.” Most of the victims were white.
We’ve already seen how quickly these mobs works and how violent they can be. Once it starts it can’t be stopped.
Now imagine what it will look like when these people can no longer afford to purchase basic essentials like food. – SHTFplan.com
Surveillance Video Captures Flash Mob Robberies At 3 Chicago Area Stores
November 6, 2013 10:02 PM
VIDEO: http://chicago.cbslocal.com/video?au...clipId=9499981
CHICAGO (CBS) — Unbelievable surveillance video captured flash mobs dashing into store after store and running out with armloads and sometimes entire racks of sporting goods. It has happened at three different Sports Authority stores in the Chicago area.
This past Monday in Burbank at just before 1 p.m., five individuals entered a Sports Authority and soon after they were off. Video shows them running out the door with rack after rack of apparel and an employee giving chase.
On Saturday at a Sports Authority on Clark Street, a half dozen entered and stole several racks with lighting fast speed.
The store chain sounded the siren, saying, “At Sports Authority, the comfort and safety of our employees and customers always remain our top priority.”
UPDATE: Retailer Takes Steps To Deter Flash Robberies
It’s like a next-generation flash mob. Originally, flash mob referred to a group of people doing a performance to draw attention to something in a positive way. The term gave way to a more sinister motive.
“They used to just be fun. They used to just be positive and now, I don’t know, it seems to have turned into something negative,” said one shopper.
No one was hurt in the three incidents, though it’s clear the mob stops for no one.
A close look at the robbery on Clark Street shows an employee who tries to intercede gets trampled.
The third incident occurred at the Frankfort location.
There have been no arrests so far and Sports Authority is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
Mini-Riots, Wildings And Flash Mobs Are Increasing. Do You Have A Plan For Them?
November 2, 2013

Mini-riots, flash mobs or “Wildings” as they are being called are becoming more and more common across the US. These “wildings” are usually perpetrated by younger males, sometimes as young as 13 years old, although the Chicago incidents over the spring and summer had numerous young females also participating.
It seems no section of the country is immune, not even in the nicest areas, like this incident from Chicago’s “Magnificent Mile” where reports range as high as 500 “urban youths” attacked shoppers and police back in March.
This most recent ‘wilding’ happened in Austin Texas, outside of the House of Torment Haunted House, where a crowd of approximately 200 descended upon a mall parking lot and chaos ensued. Follow the link for some overhead FLIR imaging.
It’s interesting to note that the haunted house house wasn’t involved, probably because responding officers cars lined up in between the parking lot and the haunted house. Either one purpose or by accident.
Unless you plan on never leaving your house, you have to come to the realization that you may find yourself in the middle of a “wilding” one day. Even the best situational awareness may not buy you enough time to steer completely clear of an event like this.
The Chicago incident (one I have firsthand reports of from local police who responded) had a “swarm of hundreds descend in a matter of seconds and sweep through the strip”. Imagine getting 15 feet out of a store door and from around the corner or alley 50 teens and young adults come sprinting out with basically no warning… from multiple directions.
Do you have a plan? Do you have a plan that the people you are with know about and understand?
The shoppers and police in Chicago, several of whom were on foot on the magnificent mile at the time of the mini-riot were overrun, including officers on horseback. Shoppers were robbed of purses, packages and wallets. Many were beaten and several were sexually groped by the mob.
Not everyone takes their responsibility for their safety and that of their friends and loved ones seriously. I occasionally take heat from fellow gun owners because I carry a full sized handgun (a G19 or XD9) and at least one spare magazine with me at all times.
I hear the same tired B.S. from these lazy people, it usually goes something like this “If I need more than 5 shots, I’m doin’ something wrong”.
Really? That’s awesome you know how many rounds you’ll need in a gunfight. Tell me again how many life or death situations you’ve been in? Zero huh… How many gunfights? Zero again… How many training classes have you taken? NRA hunters class… That’s super.

Mob advancing on police line (upper right)
Gangs have taken to using mass text messages and social media, let alone old school tactics in disturbing new ways. They are becoming more brazen and consistently have less fear of police. Want proof? Watch that video of the crowd going after virtually the entire on duty shift of the Austin PD and only 5 of them getting arrested. The Chicago incident? Out of 500 rioters, only 17 were arrested. That’s even more shocking because of where it happened and the fact that hundreds of Chicago PD officers were on scene within 10 minutes of it starting.
I’m not saying you have to be paranoid, I’m saying be aware that bad things happen and you could find yourself caught up in the middle of something, no matter how great your situational awareness it.
Does the training you have taken or you are going to take help you in these types of situations? If you took one defensive handgun class where you stood still and shot a few tight groups at a piece of paper, you probably aren’t where you should be in your skill level. I won’t get into the details here but you need to have a full compliment of skills that don’t just include shooting. After all you just can’t start shooting because a few dozen people happen to be running in your general direction.
Don’t just plan for it, train for it, because you alone are responsible for your own safety.

Wage Strikes Planned at Fast-Food Outlets
December 1, 2013
Seeking to increase pressure on McDonald’s, Wendy’s and other fast-food restaurants, organizers of a movement demanding a $15-an-hour wage for fast-food workers say they will sponsor one-day strikes in 100 cities on Thursday and protest activities in 100 additional cities.
As the movement struggles to find pressure points in its quest for substantially higher wages for workers, organizers said strikes were planned for the first time in cities like Charleston, S.C.; Providence, R.I.; and Pittsburgh.
The protests have expanded greatly since November 2012, when 200 fast-food workers engaged in a one-day strike at more than 20 restaurants in New York City, the first such walkout in the history of the nation’s fast-food industry.
“There’s been pretty huge growth in one year,” said Kendall Fells, one of the movement’s main organizers. “People understand that a one-day strike is not going to get them there. They understand that this needs to continue to grow.”
The movement, which includes the groups Fast Food Forward and Fight for 15, is part of a growing union-backed effort by low-paid workers — including many Walmart workers and workers for federal contractors — that seeks to focus attention on what the groups say are inadequate wages.
The fast-food effort is backed by the Service Employees International Union and is also demanding that restaurants allow workers to unionize without the threat of retaliation.
Officials with the National Restaurant Association have said the one-day strikes are publicity stunts. They warn that increasing pay to $15 an hour when the federal minimum wage is $7.25 would cause restaurants to rely more on automation and hire fewer workers.
Industry officials say that only a small percentage of fast-food jobs pay the minimum wage and that those are largely entry-level jobs for workers under 25.
Backers of the movement for higher pay point to studies saying that the average age of fast-food workers is 29 and that more than one-fourth are parents raising children.
Simon Rojas, who earns $8.07 an hour working at a McDonald’s in South Central Los Angeles, said he would join Thursday’s one-day strike.
“It’s very difficult to live off $8.07 an hour,” said Mr. Rojas, 23, noting that he is often assigned just 20 or 25 hours of work a week. “I have to live with my parents. I would like to be able to afford a car and an apartment.”
Mr. Rojas said he had studied for a pharmacy technician’s certificate, but he had been unable to save the $100 needed to apply for a license.
On Aug. 29, fast-food strikes took place in more than 50 cities. This week’s expanded protests will be joined by numerous community, faith and student groups, including USAction and United Students against Sweatshops.
I'm thinking there will be "authorities" out there jamming cell phones soon.
But the messages will have already gone out.
Day late, dollar short tactics.
Unruly Crowd Causes Commotion At Salvation Army Toy Distribution
December 21, 2013
Organizers of a Salvation Army holiday toy distribution on Pittsburgh’s North Side planned to bring in more staff today after a crowd turned unruly Friday.
It all happened just after 11:30 a.m. at the Salvation Army facility on North Avenue.
According to police, people had been waiting in line for a while to pick up toys when they started getting angry.
When the doors opened, officials say things turned chaotic.
People were pushing, shoving and cutting in front of others.
Staff at the facility told police that there wasn’t enough personnel to handle the crowd, so they stopped the toy distribution and told everyone to leave.
They planned to open back up today with additional staff.
No arrests were made.
Hundreds of teens trash mall in wild flash mob
By Kevin Sheehan, Natasha Velez and Natalie O'Neill
December 27, 2013 | 1:01pm
Hundreds of teenagers stormed and trashed a Brooklyn mall in a wild flash mob that forced the shopping center to close its doors during day-after Christmas sales, sources said on Friday.
More than 400 crazed teens grabbed and smashed jars of candy, stole cheap items such as baby balloons and beat up security guards at Kings Plaza Shopping Center in Mill Basin between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., merchants said.
A violent game of “Knockout” also broke out on the upper level of the mall — and one teen may have been carrying a gun, sources said.
The teens used social media to plan the mass looting, vowing to put the mall “on tilt” – or to raid it, according to posts on Facebook and Twitter.
Clerks, who scrambled to close up their shops, said they were terrified.
“I’ve been here seven years and I have never seen anything like this before — I’m so scared. I know they will come back,” said Abu Taleb,31, a clerk at Candy Plaza 2.
“I was begging them to stop. There were a lot of kids hundreds of kids… [Security] would chase them out one door and they would come back in another door.”
Clerks at shops such as Macy’s, Victoria’s Secret and Mac quickly rolled down metal gates as security guards tried desperately to break up the mob. The mall was closed for roughly an hour around 7 p.m., sources said.
Violent fights also broke out in front of McDonald’s and Best Buy, sources said. Video footage shows a pack of teenage girls punching each other and screaming as security guards struggled to break up the brawl.
Other teens were even more violent, sources said.
“You know they were playing the knockout game yesterday,” said perfume merchant Shante, 21, referencing a game in which teens try to knock each other out with a single punch.
“People were getting really scared. A tall white guy with a grey bubble coat was wearing a ski mask and a skull cap and he had his hand under his coat like he was holding a gun,” she said.
Some teens took to Twitter to brag about the trashing the mall.
“Kings Plaza was on tilt today,” Ray Rat Sextana wrote on Facebook.
Another teen, Mark Wallace, added, “Sh-t was crazy at Kings Plaza. So the security started shutting down the mall and kicking all teens out but it was so much of us they couldn’t get control.”
Police sources said it’s unclear what prompted the mall madness but some of the teens incorrectly believed the rapper Fabolous would be performing at the mall, according to social media posts.
Video footage also shows two security guards carrying a teenage boy out of the mall.
Other teens bragged on social media about beating up security guards and breaking bus windows on the ride home.
“Teens rioting at Kings Plaza. They just shut the mall DOWN …. Rrowdy teens fighting and running through out the mall. It was crazy!!!” one mall-goer posted.
No arrests were made.
600 People Involved in Movie Theater Brawl, 5 Arrested
December 26, 2013
Five teenagers were arrested when a 600-person brawl broke out in a Florida movie theater’s parking lot on Christmas night.
Described by police as a “melee,” the fight occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday outside the Hollywood River City 14 movie theater in Jacksonville when a group tried to storm the theater’s doors without purchasing tickets, police said. Several had rushed an off-duty police officer working as a security guard.
The officer “administered pepper spray to disperse the group, locked the doors and called for backup, following protocol,” said Lauri-Ellen Smith, a spokeswoman for the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Soon after the pepper spray was used, “upward of 600 people moving throughout a parking lot about the size of a football field began fighting, disrupting and jumping on cars,” she said.
Sixty-two police officers were called to the scene to break up the brawl, “sequestering them and separating them,” Smith said.
Only minor injuries and damage to property were reported. No gunshots were fired, according to Smith.

All five of the people arrested on the scene were charged with crimes related to fighting. Three of those arrested, including one minor, were charged with felonies. Two other juveniles, who have not been named by police, were charged with misdemeanors.
Tevyn Alonza Davis, 19, was charged with resisting arrest and breach of the peace. Jaquade Marquis Miller, 18, was charged with fighting and resisting arrest. Khalil Ahmad Bradley, 17, the only minor charged with a felony, was arrested for resisting arrest, refusal to disperse and breach of the peace.
Davis and Bradley each “took a fighting stance” when confronted by police and told to leave the area, according to arrest reports. Miller, too, “took an aggressive stance” when told by police to leave the parking lot.
According to the movie theater’s website, the cinema was showing “Tyler Perry’s A Medea Christmas,” “47 Ronin,” “Grudge Match,” “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” along with several other movies.
Stupid fucks, don't even know English. Just Jive Ghetto Trash Talk. They ought to be arrested for speaking like fucking morons.

Mob of teens overruns mall in Brooklyn
By Haimy Assefa, CNN

STORY HIGHLIGHTS
- Over 300 teens stormed a Brooklyn mall causing chaos
- Mall employees were terrified as teens banged on store doors
- The disturbance drove down post-Christmas sales
(CNN) -- Imagine the chaos of Black Friday -- but worse.
Every shopper's nightmare was lived out on Thursday when a horde of rowdy teens stampeded through a New York mall -- screaming, wreaking havoc and banging on shop doors.
"Things are back to normal with more police around," Joli Chen, a worker at a beauty supply store, said Saturday. "But the other day was crazy. Black Friday was normal compared to that. They were making trouble."
Flash mobs have been known to descend on malls across the country, singing, dancing and even accompanying couples getting engaged. But the Brooklyn flash mob isn't the first to turn ugly.
In the summer of 2012, a Walmart in Jacksonville, Florida, was mobbed by 300 people who entered the store and destroyed the security system, according to CNN affiliate WJXT.
Police said the group destroyed an electronic anti-shoplifting security scanner that cost about $1,500, WJXT reported. The massive crowd descended on the store after a party that was broken up nearby. No arrests were made.
In New York, Chen and others described a flash mob of more than 300 teens who, at first, started gathering at Brooklyn's Kings Plaza Shopping Center before erupting in a frenzy of yelling, running, shoving and pounding on doors. Many stores were forced to shut down on the busy shopping day after Christmas.
"They tried to scare us," Chen said. "They were cursing at us. The police tried to keep them moving but there were so many. And there are so many entrances, they kept coming back in."
On Friday, the mall turned away unaccompanied minors. On Saturday, Chen said, teens were allowed to shop again.
A New York police spokesman confirmed that more than 300 rowdy teens overran the Kings Plaza mall the day after Christmas.
At about 6 p.m., groups roamed the mall banging on glass storefronts while cursing and screaming at people, mall employee Rickie Liu told CNN.
Reports of damage were unclear, but some teens picked up a glass container filled with candy and shattered it on the floor, the owner of a candy kiosk told CNN affiliate WCBS.
The rambunctious crowd turned what is usually a quiet mall into a terrifying place, said mall employee Charmaine Chen.
Many stores were forced to shutter their gates on a busy day. Liu said she received a call from mall security advising store employees to lock store doors for their own safety.
Shop owner Kenny Pak received a call from security telling him there were teens fighting and causing a commotion.
Police arrived after mall security called for backup at around 9 p.m., said a New York police spokesman. Officers eventually escorted nearly the disorderly teens out of the mall.
The coordinated chaos lasted about two hours, according to Liu, and ruined expected good sales.
Her shop didn't even reach $100 in business by 6 p.m., Liu said.
Police said there were no arrests made or complaints filed with the authorities about damage or assaults.
Police were reviewing mall security video as part of their investigation.
No complaints were filed?
No one arrested?

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Albuquerque police say 10 young women swarmed into a clothing store to steal goods and then ran outside and threw rocks at store window after one was caught.
The thieves were shoving clothes and shoes into their purses while two of them tried to distract store personnel.
Police say a store employee suspected something was wrong and called police while the theft was in progress.
The young women started to run out but one was detained by store personnel and later arrested by police.
The others threw rocks when they realized the one had been caught. They then got in a car and drove away.

Teens Gathering At Norfolk (Virginia) Mall Prompts Safety Meeting
January 1, 2014
The general manager of The Gallery at Military Circle says he will meet with police, tenants and others to discuss security after a gathering of rowdy teens Saturday night prompted complaints.
A large number of teens - estimates ranged from "several dozen" to 200 - crowded near the front of Macy's department store about 8 p.m., causing the store to close early.
They then ran through the mall. No one was arrested.
Norfolk police had two calls at the mall Saturday, said department spokesman Officer Chris Amos. One was to respond to a car that was broken into, and the second was canceled, he said.
In a statement, mall General Manager Mike Glenn said the mall is looking into what happened and what can be done to prevent it from happening again.
"The safety of both our customers and the employees of all of our stores is the No. 1 priority for the leadership of the Military Circle Mall," he said in the statement. "Despite the fact that no crime was committed during the activities of Saturday night, having reviewed the videotapes and after hearing from both customers and store owners, we have decided to convene a meeting among our tenants, local police, other key Norfolk stakeholders and ourselves to determine appropriate next steps."
There are often a lot of kids in the mall on weekends. Saturday, there were more high school and middle school kids than usual, said Marza Irfan, a shopkeeper at Gold and Silver Time.
"I think the parents just use the mall as day care," he said. "They were fighting. Mall security basically has no control."
Jay Turner was working at Love's Barbershop & Salon on Saturday.
Such gatherings crowd the stores with people who often aren't there to buy anything and keep paying customers away, he said.
"If you've got two groups of eight to 10 kids, you've got maybe two kids in the group that have money," he said. "There were probably 200 teens and just six security guards."
The situation is affecting businesses in the mall, and store workers are concerned, he said.
Socialist Progressives Call For Marxists Revolution In America
http://www.trunews.com/wp-content/up...-communist.jpg
Marxist leftists have prepared a nightmarish blueprint for American socialism in a new revolutionary “book of imagination.”
The new book, “Imagine Living in a Socialist USA,” was edited by Frances Goldin who praises “life-enhancing socialism” in the preface. The 281 page manifesto showcases 31 utopian essays written by dangerous criminals, prominent liberals, and self-described communists – all for just $10.11.
It imagines a “free” and “enlightened” socialist United States, promoting radical notions such as eliminating prisons and creating mandatory worker-owned businesses. More dangerously, it details “how to get from where we are to where we want to be,” and the authors seem determined to destroy “rapacious” and “cancerous” capitalism, by revolution if necessary.
The new book is stocked with pieces featuring Bill Ayers, Michael Moore and even Mumia Abu Jamal. It’s a perfect fit for Karl Marx’s library and brought together calls for establishment of grade and competition-free schools and the greatest hits of terrible Occupy Wall Street demands into a strident call for “the Third American Revolution.”
Here, are some of the most extreme and famous among this group of radicals and liberal journalists:
Joel Kovel Demands Revolution to Kill Capitalist ‘Cancer’
Joel Kovel’s piece makes no pretense about its radical aims, complete with a Marxist slogan in the first paragraph: “working men of all countries unite!”
The author and anti-Israel firebrand invoke environmental hysteria over issues such as climate change, asserting that “our obligation is to remake society from the ground up in the service of life. If this be read as a demand for revolution, so be it.”
Socialism, he claims, would foster a society where humans will organize their economy in accordance with environmental demands. Kovel certainly rejected capitalism calling it “a kind of metastasizing cancer, a disease that demands radical treatment – revolutionary change.”
Cop-Killer and Former Fugitive Advocate the End of Prisons
Mumia Abu-Jamal, the convicted murderer of a Philadelphia police officer, and Angela Davis, former leader of the Communist Party U.S.A, worked together to pen a bizarre essay on crime. It begins by asserting “The concept of ‘crime,’ like much that we today take for granted, is a sociopolitical construct.”
The authors’ objections to prisons fit well into their colorful biographies. Abu-Jamal was convicted in 1982 of shooting Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner in the back. His case became a hot-button political issue for radical liberals, including this book’s editor who described a life goal as “to free Mumia Abu-Jamal from the bars that constrain him.” Free Mumia T-shirts have long been fixtures of the protest landscape.
Davis, for her part, was implicated in a 1970 courtroom shootout, though she was found not-guilty after spending three months on the run. Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev awarded her the Lenin Peace Price in 1979.
These two radicals advocate nothing less than the complete dismantling of the prison system. They argued that a socialist United States would “end mass incarceration by prison abolition.” While you may be wondering what they think would suffice to stop crime, they advocate a system which “brings the offender and the victim together to talk to each other.”
Yes, let’s force victims to engage in dialogue with their attackers.
Bill Ayers Claims American Nationalized Schooling a Failure of Capitalism
No socialist treatise would be complete without the violent terrorist and self-described "communist" Bill Ayers. In his essay, Ayers advocates a radical change to the education system which would eliminate "the laborious programs of sorting the crowd into winners and losers through testing and punishing, grading, assessing, and judging."
For Ayers, education has become a capitalist organization which has less to offer "an inquiring mind" than the "city dump" or "a street corner." The problem, he says, is that capitalism encourages us to "think of education as a product like a car or a refrigerator." He supported completely dismantling the education system, in favor of a poorly defined system without grades that instead focus on "full human development, enlightenment, and freedom."
He never addresses the fact that public education in the United States is run by the government, though he blamed "a merry band of billionaires" for pushing public schooling reforms.
Bill Ayers was a founding member of the openly communist and revolutionary Weather Underground in 1969. Ayers has admitted to facilitating a series of anti-war bombings while a member of this organization.
Paul Le Blanc Explains How America is Ready for Revolution
Le Blanc, a historian at La Roche College, examines how a contemporary socialist revolution would fit into the revolutionary history of the United States. He views both the American Revolution and the "Second American Revolution" (Civil War) as times when progressive forces destroyed unjust power structures in America.
He promotes another revolution, saying "Many U.S. socialists have argued that we must undertake a third American revolution that would end the economic dictatorship of capitalism and establish rule by the people over our economy."
He proceeds to explain how the American working class has become dissatisfied with the status quo and how socialist activists can begin to prepare for a revolutionary movement. According to Le Blanc, now is a particularly fruitful time for revolution, as the inequality of wealth provides "fantastic potential for socialist transformation today."
Michael Moore Hopes for an Unstoppable Occupy Wall Street ... In 2011
Michael Moore, the prominent lefty filmmaker, did not write on original article for this book. Instead, Goldin selected a 2011 article, which Moore wrote to promote the then newly formed Occupy Wall Street movement. Moore promotes the typical OWS slogans, alternating between platitudes about "a truly free, democratic and just society" and hard-line leftist legislation, like carbon reduction, confiscatory taxes, and a massive welfare state.
Almost sadly, he ends this proposal with an optimistic call to arms, stating "Occupy Wall Street enjoys the support of millions. It is a movement that cannot be stopped."
How did that work out for him?
Woman, 61, Tells Cops A Man Named Ted Stole Her "Obama Phone"
A South Carolina woman told cops that a male acquaintance stole “her government issued ‘Obama Phone’” and a pair of DVDs http://i.cdn.turner.com/dr/teg/tsg/r...acellphone.jpgfrom her residence, according to a police report.
Rosa Clowney, a 61-year-old Spartanburg resident, told officers that she had invited a man named “Ted” over to her house Thursday night to watch a pair of movies she had borrowed from the library (“Act of Valor” and “The Bourne Identity”).
After watching the films, Clowney told police, "Ted" left her residence with the DVDs and her blue “Obama Phone.” Clowney said that she had no other information about “Ted,” adding that she was reporting the theft because “the library was going to charge her $65.00 for the missing movies.”
The Spartanburg Police Department larceny report is apparently the first time the phrase “Obama Phone” has been memorialized in such a document.
The federal government’s Lifeline program, which began in 1985, provides phones to financially disadvantaged individuals. While the program’s mobile phone component launched months before Barack Obama was first inaugurated, the 44th president has been linked to it largely due to a notorious video shot during the 2012 presidential campaign.
