I have a similar axe. I have not carried it my vehicle. Would there be a legal concern be having it in a vehicle compartment? I know a 6 cell Mag lite can be twisted as being a club.

It's in a day pack I carry. I don't care if there is a legal issue.
I carry a lot of things in there that anyone can "twist" any way they want. As long as I'm not twisting the blade in their chest, what the hell do they care?
But, check your state laws Phil, that's the first place to look.
Bump for the awesome NRA deal!
http://i45.tinypic.com/2hzpzma.jpg
Right now only 5% of gun owners are NRA members and we see how influential it is as an organization. Imagine if we could get that up to 10%!
If it helps to justify the costs, figure that $25 at BPS is something you'd spend $25 on like gun cleaning supplies or some plinking ammo, and you get a free NRA membership with the purchase!

Bump for the NRA membership deal!
The page still comes up so it looks like the deal is still available.
I heard on NRA News earlier that the NRA is at about 4.2 million members and wants to get 5 million even before any legislation can be brought up.
So even if you've already taken advantage of this great deal, PLEASE pass it along to as many people as you know! We need as many people in the NRA as possible right now if we are going to have any hope of not losing any ground with our freedom.
I joined - They have added a lot of people. I posted a couple messages about that yesterday. Something like 300-500k have added (I might have that wrong).
Just joined. First timer here. As it is a financial wash at $25 to pay and get a card for Bass pro at the same amount, I figure give it a go. Their headquarters is not far from me anyway.
It's not like that $25 bucks is gonna get you ammo from anywhere... lol
Actually, the Bass Pro near me had some "okay" priced ammo though their ammo shelves behind the counter were pretty light.
I had a $30 gift card from Christmas and bought a 100 round Remington .45 "Value Pack" for $50.
This $25 Bass Pro card is going to go toward a box of .44 Magnum which I think was $40 there.
They did also have plenty of shotgun ammo.
Son came into town yesterday from his ranch and was looking for .22 rounds. Not a single round to be had anywhere he went.
He asked me for some and I laughed and said, "You got the rifle from me.... I told you to get your own bullets" hahaha.
I might give him a few to make sure the gun doesn't "remain a stick". :)
I'm glad I bought .22 when I did, I now wish I had purchased about twice what I did.
I wish I would have bought a lot more. I don't have very much.
I was just giving a short lesson on that though (as can be attested by someone on the site)....
That a "rabbit stick" will bring down a rabbit or squirrel. A slingshot is better, a bow even better, and a gun best.
I have two air rifles I can hunt rabbits and squirrels with them, doves too (pigeons are doves by the way). I have .22s and other weapons... but IF I CAN I will use the Rabbit Stick to hunt. Why? to conserve ammo.
If I don't need to use a .22 shell to kill a rabbit, I've save a bullet for when I REALLY, REALLY need it.
it's simple common sense and survival. (And by the way, I can throw a rabbit stick well enough to knock a rabbit dead)
No .22 even at Walmart? I don't think I've ever seen them out of that even at the height of the last run on ammo!
I'm gonna hit there later today myself. :) I'll check.
I'm sure he went there though. He came in to town to buy crap and he specifically went to Walmart as well (though he might have done that AFTER he visited me...)
Moved:
The net has been running very, very slow today. :blackeye:
I'm guessing wrong thread vector? ;)
Unless Walmart has started selling J-10s... :D
J-10s? Walmart? hehehe.
BTW Ryan, speaking of hot deals and walmart, yes, they are out of .22 rounds.
He found them at Dicks though. Apparently no one is shopping there for some reason (LOL!)
Wow, Walmart out of .22 is pretty impressive.
LOL, wonder why no one would be shopping at Dick's...
:D
Here's a couple places that have bulk .22:

I don't know if you have to be a CMP member to buy ammo or if that just applies to rifles and I know it's not all that great a price but, they do have it.
not sure this is a "hot deal" but here goes
http://www.thermoldmagazines.com/col...15-30-magazine
For Thermolds, unfortunately no.
Thermolds are supposed to be one of the cheapest AR mags out there but they aren't very durable. If they are subjected to freezing temperatures and you drop one, they will crack or even shatter.
They are good range mags but not $30 good. I think I posted a deal a good while back that was maybe 30 of them in a backpack for $100.
