I'm just a bill,,,,
Somehow I must have missed the change. I thought only the Legislative Branch of government made the laws in the US? How can the Executive Branch send a bill to be passed. I hope I didn't waste too much cartoon time on Saturday's watching School House Rock.

Re: I'm just a bill,,,,
The executive branch writes it and hands it to a sympathetic lackey in either house who introduces it. Before they introduce it, they all attach their pet causes and pork. By the time the process is done, it's as if the bill played the Telephone game. The bill that comes up to a vote bears almost no resemblance to the bill that was intended to hit the floor.

I believe they get "sponsors" for the bill. Or, as Malsua said, a sympathetic lackey.

If only I had sound... I can see the pretty pictures, but not hear them. A comp issue I am working on.

Re: I'm just a bill,,,,
Glad to be of service, Mr Luke. Hopefully by mid next week I will have working ears on my comp again.

Re: I'm just a bill,,,,
I finally was able to review the Bill video. Takes me back as well. It has to be the best means of helping a kid to understand the ideal way a bill passes. Sadly, these days that is a too simple a video as many other influences come into play.
