Just getting caught up to the events from overnight since I slept in being on vacation.
Have FNC on and watching the video. Gunfire, to me, sounds like it could be AK-type weapon fire but that's based off some cell phone video so who knows.
Shooter ID'd as Stephen Paddock, 64. I guess they've found the shooter's home.

Re: 8/2/2017: Las Vegas Shooting At Mandalay Bay
Clark County Sheriff saying 58-59 dead, 515 wounded.
Judging from the videos, I'd say a number of the 515 wounded are trampling injuries.
From what I've been reading about there having been multiple weapons, the room booked a week from last night, the elevated position, and possibly even cameras setup by the shooter to watch for the PD respons, I'd say this sounds like a highly planned event.
Something to keep in mind, the Congressional softball shooter was a similar age...
Some unofficial information I've gleaned from ARFCOM...
One person in FL posted: "Tax records reference he moved at about 2015. His home of record in FL is a subdivision named Heritage Isle in Viera. I live in Viera; a few blocks from Heritage Isle."
I saw someone mention they found the address of his NV residence and it was last sold in 2015 so that would match.
I also saw someone mention he was a registered Democrat in FL but I haven't seen anything definitive.

I apologize that this is an ******** video link but...
Video is far enough away you can hear the weapon fire without the bullet cracks like some of the videos from in the crowd.
Rate of fire sounds consistent enough for legit full auto.

Interestingly, the RoF sounds very inconsistent in this video.
Possibly some legit FA and some hand crank trigger device? Could also be a beltfed with the belt not being kept smoothly fed or possibly dirty after continuous fire.

FNC said he used to work for Lockheed and they've released a statement.
Then I see this... Guy is wearing a NASA shirt...

Re: 8/2/2017: Las Vegas Shooting At Mandalay Bay
Certainly didn't take Hilldog all that long to start dancing in the blood of the victims:
A top legal executive at CBS, Hayley Geftman-Gold, said she “is not even sympathetic” for the victims of the shooting at a country music festival at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas Sunday night.
“If they wouldn’t do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs will ever do the right thing,” wrote Geftman-Gold on Facebook, perhaps referring to Sandy Hook. “I’m actually not even sympathetic bc country music fans often are Republican gun toters.”
Stephen Paddock of Mesquite, Nev. opened fire on a crowd of 22,000 country music concert goers from the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas late Sunday night. More than 50 people are dead, and 400 others were left injured after the shooting spree finally ended when the shooter turned the gun on himself.
“The gunfire began during a performance by the singer Jason Aldean, the closing act of the Route 91 Harvest Festival, according to Gail Davis, who was in the audience of more than 22,000,” reports The New York Times.
CBS has a history of hostility towards Republicans. Shortly after the attack on the GOP congressional baseball team gravely injuring Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise in June, former CBS anchor Scott Pelley questioned whether the shooting was “foreseeable, predictable and to some degree, self-inflicted.”
The original thread was deleted, but not by Geftman-Gold.
CBS did not immediately respond to The Daily Caller News Foundation for comment.
Great... SHARE Act (aka HPA, Hearing Protection Act) getting brought up by press in WH presser, specifically Hilldog's Tweets.
Lots of gun control talk from the press. Really hoping Trump doesn't go back to his old positions under withering pressure from the press. :dead:

This NASA press release regarding low cost spacecraft does list a "Steve Paddock" and he is supposed to have been an "accountant" of some flavor.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 1, 1993
NASA Administrator Daniel S. Goldin today announced the establishment of a study team at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory to explore possibilities for a return mission to Mars to recover some of the scientific objectives of the Mars Observer mission, if communications with that spacecraft cannot be reestablished.
The study team, led by JPL Assistant Laboratory Director Dr. Charles Elachi, will look at a variety of low-cost spacecraft, instrument and launch options, with the objective of returning to Mars in 1994 or 1996.
The team will review available spacecraft and instrument options from industry and government, including Mars Observer spares and possible international contributions. The team is expected to present potential mission options to NASA within the next two months.
Members of the study team currently include:
Arden Albee California Institute of Technology, Pasadena
Carl Sagan Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y.
Bruce Murray California Institute of Technology, Pasadena
John Casani JPL
Tom Coughlin Applied Physics Laboratory, Baltimore
Steve Paddock Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Md.
Eugene Giberson JPL (retired)
Ray Heacock JPL (retired)
Jonathan Lunine University of Arizona, Tucson
Rich Matlock Ballistic Missile Defense Office, Washington, D.C.
Donna Pivirotto JPL
Rob Staehle JPL
John Beckman JPL
Larry Soderblom U.S. Geologic Survey, Flagstaff, Ariz.
Carolyn Porco University of Arizona, Tucson
Bud Wheelon Hughes Aircraft Co. (retired), Los Angeles
So, a lefty at an anti-Trump rally wearing a NASA shirt, a "Steve Paddock" on a 1993 NASA press release, and LM confirming the shooter had worked for them back in the '80s (see below).
Nothing definitive but, it is definitely interesting...
The man identified as the shooter responsible for killing and wounding hundreds in Las Vegas, Stephen Paddock, previously worked for a company that later become Lockheed Martin (LMT).
Lockheed Martin, the world’s largest defense contractor, said the retired Paddock was employed by a predecessor company about 30 years ago.
“Stephen Paddock worked for a predecessor company of Lockheed Martin from 1985 until 1988. We’re cooperating with authorities to answer questions they may have about Mr. Paddock and his time with the company,” Lockheed Martin said in a statement.
Lockheed Martin did not disclose which company employed Paddock. The Bethesda, Maryland-based defense contractor was created through the merger of Lockheed Corporation and Martin Marietta in 1995.
A report from ABC News said Paddock worked as an accountant or auditor.
I'm finding it very suspicious that nearly 24 hours later nothing has been released in regards to motive.
With a guy that put this much planning and fortune on the line to pull this off, you can't tell me there isn't some sort of many paged manifesto that was left behind.
Also nothing in the MSM jumping on this guy being some rich, right wing, racist, sexist, homophobe is a bit telling...
If you're like me and are looking into details of the pussy hat NASA shirt guy, you probably looked up where Reno is in relation to Mesquite and noticed there on opposite ends of the state (east-west). Seems like a lot of travel for a guy just to protest, right?
Well, he was retired so he probably had nothing better to do. Oh and then this detail popped up:
We (or at least I) also haven't heard any info on the second residence searched by law enforcement belonging to Paddock and where that is actually located.
