In an interview with ABC News that aired earlier this week, President Donald Trump complained to anchor David Muir about the mainstream media’s lack of coverage for the March of Life.
When Mr. Muir asked if Mr. Trump could hear the protesters from the progressive Women’s March on Washington from the White House, Mr. Trump responded, saying:
“No, I couldn’t hear them. The crowds were large, but you will have a large crowd on Friday, too, which is mostly pro-life people. You’re going to have a lot of people coming on Friday. And I will say this, and I didn’t realize this. But I was told. You will have a very large crowd of people. I don’t know as large or larger. Some people said it will be larger. Pro-life people and they say the press doesn’t cover them.”
Mr. Trump boldly referenced the March of Life, which his Vice President Mike Pence will attend, and correctly said it received little to no air-time on the nightly news shows. A report by the Media Research Center released this week found the major television networks gave the Women’s March 129 times more coverage than last year’s March for Life.
Yet, surprisingly (or maybe not) the entire exchange about the two marches was edited out of ABC’s official transcript of the interview.

ABC News Admits To Editing Ari Fleischer’s Praise Of Trump’s Press Secretary To Sound Like Attack

ABC News admitted to editing an interview they had with Ari Fleischer regarding Trump’s press secretary that made it appear he was attacking him, rather than praising him.
On Tuesday, former president George W. Bush’s press secretary called out the network on Twitter for chopping his quote that aired Monday night on “Nightline” and proving Spicer’s point about the media’s dedication to reporting negatively about the Trump administration.

The edited quote read, “[Spicer’s] briefing made me uncomfortable. It was too truculent, too tough. It looks as if the ball was dropped on Saturday,” according to another report.
Tuesday night the network issued an apology for “editing” the interview that “shortened” Fleisher’s quote and resulted in his opinion being “mischaracterized.”
“Nightline aired a segment Monday night about the first three days of the new administration including Sean Spicer’s statement to the press on Saturday,” an apology on their website read. “As part of the report, we interviewed former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer. In editing the piece for air, his quote was shortened and as a result his opinions mischaracterized.”

A blanket “immigration ban”? No, it is not. That is a fake news headline.
Even so-called conservative websites groveling for clicks are making more out of President Trump’s action to fully vet foreigners’ intentions upon U.S. entrance than it obviously is.
Trump is doing what the majority recognized was necessary to secure our borders. Voters asked for it, he promised it, and thus he was elected. Now he’s doing it.
This isn’t inhumane. It’s exercising common-sense compassion to keep human beings safe. It’s about fully vetting foreigners and merely following the laws the people–through our representative form of government within our republic–agreed upon.
The misinformed are ballistically knee-jerking because they aren’t used to candidates fulfilling campaign promises. Perhaps it’s shocking because we’re used to swamp dwellers murkying up the waters once typical politicians get elected, but that’s exactly why a typical politician wasn’t elected. The status quo has got to go.
Many of us have demanded we regroup and get a handle on security issues. What next preventable tragedy must happen before we finally do so?
Trump’s executive action is a step in the right direction towards welcoming safe, loving, law-abiding, hardworking, patriotic people into our nation that was built on the backs of safe, loving, law-abiding, hardworking, patriotic people willing to assimilate into America’s exceptional melting pot.

Times Journo Calls for Assassination of President Trump

During a days-long invective against the newly inaugurated President, on Twitter in which Knight called Mr Trump a “moron”, “mad”, “needy”, and an “arse”, among other things, before telling him to “shut up”, she mused “the assassination is taking such a long time.”
Knight’s attitude is directly in-line with the British media class, many of whom she has cheered on via Twitter over the last few days.
Watching the joint press conference held by Mr Trump and the British Prime Minister Theresa May, in which they heralded a rebooting of the Special Relationship between their two countries, Knight retweeted a post by Buzzfeed political editor Jim Waterstone which implied that the American Secret Service were so incompetent that they couldn’t understand the British conventional way of rendering dates into numerical format (day-month-year).
Another from fellow Times journalist Hugo Rifkind highlighted that the British press had use the question and answer session to call Trump a racist and a liar.

Knight herself also cheered on the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg, who used her question during the Q&A to attack Mr Trump in such a manner that he was moved to respond, “That was your question? There goes that relationship!”
Knight tweeted “Go @bbclaurak! [Kuenssberg]” followed by “I love the British press”.
She later re-tweeted posts from British journalists celebrating forcing the Prime Minister to respond to demands from the British press pack to condemn the President’s decision to pause immigration from some Muslim-majority countries.
But Knight’s opposition to Mr Trump – and in particular her call for his assassination – has not gone down well with fellow Twitter users.
Members of the public tweeted back to call her a “horrible person” and a “psychopath” for wishing death on anyone, while one person mused that she was typical of so-called “tolerant” liberals.
Others noted that they had reported her Tweet to the authorities and to Twitter. A number of people have been jailed in the past for tweeting abusive messages; most notably student Liam Stacey who in 2012 was jailed for 56 days for tweeting racist comments while drunk – a sentence which the judge said must be imposed due to the level of “public outrage”.
Knight’s comment comes days after a German newspaper editor suggested on television that “murder in the White House” could be a way to end the “Trump catastrophe”.
As Silicon Valley's tech billionaires continue their crack down on "fake news", "hate speech" and dissenting conservative opinions of all forms (see this from last night: "Reddit Bans Three Alt-Right Forums As Users Blast 'Leftist Intolerance'"), one thing they don't seem to be that worried about is death threats to the President of the United States. In fact, just a quick search of Twitter reveals 1,000s of tweets calling for the assassination of Trump.
But while Twitter and Facebook may be distracted with censoring conservative opinions under the guise of a crack down on "fake news" and/or "hate speech", as Heather Lowrey of Louisville, Kentucky recently discovered, the U.S. Secret Service is taking social media threats against the President very seriously. Per the Courier-Journal:
Lowrey could have violated United States Code Title 18, Section 871, "Threats Against President and Successors to the Presidency," which prohibits knowingly and willfully mailing or otherwise making "any threat to take the life of, to kidnap, or to inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States." The charge, a Class E felony, is punishable by at least one year in prison and a maximum of five years.
"Think twice before they send it out," he said. "We are definitely monitoring social media."
Ironically, Heather signed her tweet calling for the assassination of the President with #bekind and #lovetrumpshate.
Meanwhile, 24 year old Zachary Benson of Cleveland found himself in a jail cell shortly after his election night tweet storm. Per the New York Daily News:
A suburban Cleveland man who tweeted that his “life goal is to assassinate Trump” was charged with making threats on the president-elect, the feds said.
Zachary Benson, 24, also tweeted “F---ing fools. I hate you all” just as election returns assuring Donald Trump’s victory hit national airwaves, according to a criminal complaint unsealed Monday and obtained by WKYC-TV. Investigators said he was later apologetic about the tweets.
“Diplomacy. F---ing fools. I hate you all. I want to bomb every one of your voting booths and your general areas," Benson tweeted at 1:25 a.m. on Nov. 9, according to investigators.
“My life goal is to assassinate Trump,” he tweeted 17 minutes later, the complaint showed. “Don't care if I serve infinite sentences. That man deserves to decease existing.”

As Mashable points out, in the 12 days since Trump's inauguration, approximately 12,000 tweets have gone out calling for his assassination. And while the U.S. Secret Service can't possibly follow up on the threats of that many disaffected snowflakes, people who have a history of criminal activity and/or those who make several threats should probably expect a knock on their door.
Former U.S. Secret Service special agent Tim Franklin, who is now a criminology and criminal justice professor of counterterrorism and cybercrimes at Arizona State University, said in a phone call Tuesday that "it’s the people who have a true and genuine intent to do harm that the Secret Service is worried about."
That's why one-off posts and people with no record of threatening messages tend to get passed over. He said the Secret Service is looking out for trends and consistent behavior, like the person who repeats their intent to kill the president over time. If someone has made threats in the past they are more likely to get investigated when they post another "Kill Trump"
post.
"They're not going to to beat down the door of everybody who makes a negative Twitter comment," Franklin said, which may be a relief to anyone who tweeted an off-hand and not entirely serious death wish for the new president.
But for users who use certain language and specific details about the president, his location and how the assassination will happen, the Secret Service will likely take notice. And while Twitter and Facebook have explicit rules prohibiting "threats of violence", thousands of Trump threats seemingly slip through the crack every day.
On the platform side, Facebook and Twitter have policies in place to take down threatening posts. As Twitter said in an email statement, "The Twitter Rules prohibit threats of violence, and we will suspend accounts violating that policy." Facebook similarly said under their "credible threats policy" they remove posts showing intent to kill the president.
Yet thousands of posts that use the words "kill" and "assassinate" remain up — most of them targeting the president no less. The platforms can't seem to keep up with the influx of death threats and don't seem to be upholding their own policies as strictly as they would like.
But, we can certainly understand that Facebook and Twitter have a hard time keeping up with enforcing their own policies...censoring "fake news", a.k.a. anything that is overly critical of Hillary Clinton, really is a full-time job.

Zuckerberg Hits Trump’s Immigration Policies, Says America Must ‘Keep Door Open to Refugees’
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is criticizing Donald Trump’s plans to build a border wall with Mexico and to limit migrants entering the United States from several Muslim countries.
The criticism indicates Zuckerberg’s growing interest in national politics outside his company’s business concerns.
This week, Trump signed several executive orders, including one to start the process of building a wall across the southern border with Mexico, and one to establish a temporary ban on some refugees entering the United States until proper vetting processes are put in place.
In a Facebook post, Zuckerberg said that he is “concerned about the impact of the recent executive orders signed by President Trump,” adding that “we should also keep our doors open to refugees and those who need help.”
“We need to keep this country safe, but we should do that by focusing on people who actually pose a threat,” Zuckerberg said.
“Expanding the focus of law enforcement beyond people who are real threats would make all Americans less safe by diverting resources, while millions of undocumented folks who don’t pose a threat will live in fear of deportation,” he continued.
Since at least 2013, Zuckerberg has funded an unsuccessful lobbying group, FWD.US, which has allied with other business groups to push for rules allowing U.S. companies to hire more cheap foreign white-collar professionals — such as H-1B contract workers — instead of American graduates. The business groups also pushed for higher immigration rates, which increase the total number of consumers in the U.S. economy. This broad push for “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” failed in 2014 amid public opposition, but business groups are expected to try again in 2017 and 2018.
Trump says his number one priority will be the deportation of migrants who have criminal records or who pose a threat to national security, although he originally promised to deport all illegal immigrants from the United States.
Zuckerberg’s comments are perhaps the first time he has openly criticized government policy. His relationship with Barack Obama appeared to be friendly. He has never formally endorsed any political candidate, despite Facebook having been found to have suppressed coverage conservative outlets and amplified left-wing movements across the site.
Last year, Zuckerberg agreed to demands from German Chancellor Angela Merkel for greater censorship on the network, and promised to crack down on users criticizing her open-door migrant policy.
Facebook’s COO Sheryl Sandberg also took to Facebook to criticize Trump’s executive order on reintroducing the Mexico City policy, which bans federal funding being used to pay for abortions, saying that the “ban is harsher and broader than past orders by past presidents, [meaning] it will hurt more people.”
“Women’s rights are human rights – and there is no more basic right than health care. Women around the world deserve our support,” she wrote.

A crowd protesting a far-right commentator's appearance at the University of California at Berkeley hurled smoke bombs, broke windows and started fires Wednesday night, prompting officials to call off the event.
The decision came two hours before Wednesday's talk by Milo Yiannopoulos (yuh-NAH'-poh-lihs), a polarizing editor of Breitbart News, after some 1,500 people had gathered outside the venue.
But officials said it was a smaller group of protesters dressed in black and in hooded sweatshirts that showed up as night fell to break windows and throw smoke bombs and flares. Fires were deliberately set, the university said.
"This was a group of agitators who were masked up, throwing rocks, commercial grade fireworks and Molotov cocktails at officers," said UC Berkeley Police Chief Margo Bennet.
Bennet said police determined at that point they couldn't guarantee security, canceled the event and evacuated Yiannopoulos from the building.
There were no immediate reports of arrests or serious injuries, she said.
President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Thursday morning to comment, tweeting: "If U.C. Berkeley does not allow free speech and practices violence on innocent people with a different point of view - NO FEDERAL FUNDS?"
Prior to the burst of violence, hundreds of peaceful demonstrators carrying signs that read "Hate Speech Is Not Free Speech" had been protesting the appearance for hours.
As the evening wore on, crowds of protesters cleared away from outside the building. By 8 p.m. the crowd had thinned and at least 100 protesters that remained danced to a brass band playing music and marched off campus and into a main avenue.
Yiannopoulos, a 32-year-old right-wing provocateur, is a vocal supporter of Trump and a self-proclaimed internet troll whose comments have been criticized as racist, misogynist, anti-Muslim and white supremacist. He was banned from Twitter after leading a harassment campaign against "Ghostbusters" actress Leslie Jones.
His visit to Berkeley was sponsored by the campus Republican club. The university has stressed it did not invite him and does not endorse his ideas but is committed to free speech and rejected calls to cancel the event.
"The event has been cancelled," Yiannopoulos posted on his Facebook page. "I'll let you know more when the facts become clear. One thing we do know for sure: the Left is absolutely terrified of free speech and will do literally anything to shut it down."
The Berkeley College Republicans said its "constitutional right to free speech was silenced by criminals and thugs."
"Their success is a defeat for civilized society and the free exchange of ideas on college campuses across America," it said in a statement.
The university, which had requested assistance from police in nine UC campuses, sent a notice to all students earlier Wednesday that warned of crowds near the student union, where the 500-seat, sold-out event was scheduled.
Yiannopoulos' talks have sparked protests, shouting matches and occasional violence at stops around the country. A man was shot and wounded at protests outside his Jan. 21 talk at the University of Washington.
Rowdy protests at UC Davis Jan. 13 prompted campus Republicans to cancel his appearance at the last minute. His final stop was supposed to be UCLA on Thursday but the invitation was rescinded, making Berkeley his grand finale.
CNN has continued to lead the way in manufactured news cycles through the past two years. However, last night on Don Lemon’s show they took fake news broadcasting to new levels of ridiculousness.
During a segment with Robert Reich, Don Lemon and Reich promoted a conspiracy theory that Milo Yiannopoulous actually manufactured the Berkeley protests in an effort to shut down his own speech:
Robert Reich […] Don, and I want to be very, very clear. I was there for part of last night, and I know what I saw. And those people were not Berkeley students. Those were outsiders, agitators. I’ve never seen them before. There’s rumors that they actually were right-wingers, they were part of a kind of a group that were organized and were ready to create the kind of tumult and danger you saw that forced the police to cancel the event.
Don Lemon […] “You think this was a strategy by Yiannopoulos or right-wingers to — they put this on so they could — in an effort to show that, you know, there’s no free speech on a college campus like UC Berkeley?”
Robert Reich […] I wouldn’t bet against it, Don. You know, again, I saw these people. They were very — they all looked almost paramilitary. They were not from the campus, and I’ve heard, you know, again, I don’t want to say factually, but I heard that there was some relationship there between these people and the right-wing, and the right-wing movement that is affiliated with Breitbart News.

Secret Service Puts The Atlantic on Blast for Fake News

Steve Clemons, Washington editor at large for The Atlantic, began a series of Tweets on Thursday claiming that Secret Service manager-level personnel were forced to resign and were escorted out of the Old Eisenhower Executive Office Building (EEOB).

Over the course of the next hour, Clemons continued to Tweet the erroneous information and included statements he attributed to Secret Service managers.
Breitbart Texas reached out to the Secret Service who confirmed they contacted Clemons via Twitter advising him his story was not accurate. “His story was false,” Secret Service Spokesman Joe Casey told Breitbart Texas in a phone conversation Friday night. “It was not Secret Service personnel who were fired or escorted out of the building.”
It appears Clemons was in a rush to get his story out before confirming his facts because he had a plane to catch from Tokyo to Washington, D.C.

The Washington Examiner actually contacted the Secret Service and reported that officials denied Clemons report calling it “absolutely false.” The Washington news outlet described Clemons as, “a longtime left-wing think tank writer who now serves as the Washington editor at large of the Atlantic and National Journal.”
“He has retracted his false report,” Secret Service Spokesman Casey told Breitbart Texas.
After getting wifi on his flight, Clemons began to realize his error and backtracked on his Tweets.

Clemons admitted he made an assumption about what agency the fired workers reported to instead of getting a statement from Secret Service or the White House.
In apparent frustration, the Secret Service Tweeted directly at Clemons advising, “Your reporting continues to be false. Still waiting for you to contact us for official statement.”

Clemons apologized for his error several times. Late Friday evening, he responded to a reader who appeared to be concerned with fake news reported by journalists. He tweeted, “I get that. But there is good journalism out there.”

Somebody prominent on the left must call out the media and the "activists" who are getting close to actually inciting violence against President Trump and Republicans.
Trump aide Kellyanne Conway told Sean Hannity yesterday that this "lack of respect" was inciting the mob in the street to commit violent acts, despite not even knowing what they were demonstrating against.
"The coverage never changed, it never progressed, it never matured," Conway, who serves as counselor to the President, told radio host Sean Hannity. "It never took on the aura of respect that it deserved, and if you are not showing the President and his main spokespeople respect, then you're not showing the office respect, and you are inciting mob mentality if not mob violence. You are encouraging people to go out there and unpeacefully protest and block airport entrances for people who are going to visit a sick parent and can't make their flight, or are going for a bereavement call and can't make their flight."
"There's nothing peaceful and nothing Democratic about folks who are out there just trying to re-litigate the election and protesting things they know nothing about," Conway continued. "If you surveyed these protesters, I guarantee you, you'd have a very low level of literacy when it comes to 'why are you here, what does that executive order do and what does it not do?'"
Earlier, the President's top adviser said she didn't see a difference between coverage of Trump during the campaign and the coverage of him as president.
"I only care, Sean, if people are being disrespectful to the President of the United States. That is unacceptable. I was raised to respect the Office of the President and its current occupant no matter who it's been, and I just think you can't really show a difference in the coverage of Donald Trump among some of these outlets and some of these reporters and tweeters, between when he was running for president, when he became the nominee for the Republicans, when he was the president-elect, and now when he's President."
This is not even remotely similar to charges made by the left that putting a bulls-eye over a congressional district led to the shooting of a congressman. These are barely disguised calls by prominent Democrats and media outlets to create an explosion of violence in the streets that not only threatens the civic order, but plays to the advantage of Trump opponents who seek to terrify ordinary people into opposing the president.
Is she exaggerating? Here's the sitting senator from Virginia, Tim Kaine, encouraging street protests against Trump:
"Then, people coming out in protest of these orders. So, the way we get outside the bubble is we take advantage of this tremendous public outcry against the administration. What we've got to do is fight in Congress, fight in the courts, fight in the streets, fight online, fight at the ballot box, and now there's the momentum to be able to do this. And we're not afraid of the popular outcry, we're energized by it and that's going to help us do our job and do it better."
Kaine knows full well that many protests across the country have turned violent, and for him to agitate for more, when a responsible lawmaker would have advised calm, shows only the heights anti-Trump hysteria has reached.
Mashable is reporting that there have been over 12,000 tweets and Facebook postings calling for the assassination of the president. Both platforms have policies against overt threats to kill the president, but the postings continue.
Trump has been in office for only 13 days. He is just getting started implementing his agenda. Unless something drastically changes, the next few months could be the most violent in America since the race riots of the 1960s. What leftists like Kaine and other prominent liberals don't seem to get is that there is a dedicated cadre of activists who see violence as a way to gain power and influence. By playing to the worst of the ideological left, they threaten to bring chaos and death to our streets.
No more irresponsible campaign against a political opponent from either party has ever been waged.

Journalists can’t seem to get their stories straight in the opening weeks of the Trump administration, whether in tweets or in articles where falsehoods have been spread almost daily.
The mistakes have not just been from newer liberal news outlets such The Huffington Post or BuzzFeed, but from legacy media like Reuters, The Washington Post, and The New York Times.
What follows are several botched stories or conflicting reports since President Trump took office.
The Trump administration eases sanctions on a Russian intelligence agency.
NBC reported Thursday that the Trump administration was easing sanctions on the FSB, one of Russia’s primary intelligence agencies. Peter Alexander, NBC’s national correspondent, tweeted, “US Treasury Dept easing Obama admin sanctions to allow companies to do transactions with Russia’s FSB, successor org to KGB.”
Less than an hour later, he wrote, “Source familiar w sanctions says it’s a technical fix, planned under Obama, to avoid unintended consequences of cybersanctions.” His initial and incorrect tweet received nearly seven thousand retweets and the correction has less than 300 retweets.
Vanity Fair is still running the uncorrected article: “Russian Stocks Surge As Comrade Trump Eases Relations With Vlad.”
The Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice were blindsided by Trump’s executive order on immigration and refugees.
The New York Times came out with a report this past week titled: “How Trump’s Rush to Enact an Immigration Ban Unleashed Global Chaos.”
It stated: “Gen. John F. Kelly, the secretary of homeland security, had dialed in from a Coast Guard plane as he headed back to Washington from Miami. Along with other top officials, he needed guidance from the White House, which had not asked his department for a legal review of the order. Halfway into the briefing, someone on the call looked up at a television in his office. ‘The president is signing the executive order that we’re discussing,’ the official said, stunned.”
Secretary Kelly, however, later strongly denied this report during a press conference Tuesday. “We knew it was coming. It wasn’t a surprise,” Kelly said.
NBC had their own story about Trump blindsiding officials. John Harwood tweeted, “senior Justice official tells [NBC News] that Dept had no input. not sure who in WH is writing/reviewing. standard NSC process not functioning.” This tweet received over 3,000 retweets. A few days later, CNN reported that an internal memo showed that the DOJ had in fact approved Trump’s executive order.
Steve Bannon went to visit Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly to convince him to temporarily ban certain green card holders.
The Washington Post’s Josh Rogin forgot to ask the White House for comment about the movements of a White House official for a story he published Saturday.
Rogin reported Saturday: “White House chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon wanted to stop Kelly in his tracks. Bannon paid a personal and unscheduled visit to Kelly’s Department of Homeland Security office to deliver an order: Don’t issue the waiver. Kelly, according to two administration officials familiar with the confrontation, refused to comply with Bannon’s instruction.”
The report was spread by journalists on Twitter and picked up by New York magazine, The Week, and Mother Jones.
However, an editor’s note was later added to Rogin’s story. It states: “Prior to publication of this column, The Post sought comment from the Department of Homeland Security but not from the White House. We should have done both. After publication, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer told The Post that Stephen Bannon did not travel to see Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly on the evening of Jan. 28.”
It was also Rogin who reported that the entire senior administrative team at the state department resigned in the opening week of the Trump administration. The columnist failed to mention that only one undersecretary of state stayed in the transition from the Clinton to Bush administration.
The Trump administration forces the resignations of several senior Secret Service officials.
The Atlantic’s Washington editor-at-large Steve Clemons tweeted Friday that Secret Service management level personnel were forced to resign Thursday night and escorted out of the Eisenhower executive office building. He subsequently tweeted that one of these “fired” Secret Service agents “speculates” that Trump is “restructuring the service.”
A Secret Service spokeswoman told The Daily Caller that Clemons’ reporting is “completely false.” The Secret Service even tweeted at him “Still waiting for you to contact us for official statement.” Clemons has not deleted his false tweets which have received thousands of retweets.
Trump thinks Sean Spicer overdid it in his first appearance. Or does he?
White House press secretary Sean Spicer used his first appearance behind the podium on Jan. 21 to scold the press for what he perceived as dishonest reporting about the crowd size at Trump’s inauguration. Spicer was aggressive and loud during his statement, and The New York Times subsequently reported that day that Trump believed Spicer went too far.
Two days later, The Washington Post reported: “In Trump’s mind, Spicer’s attack on the news media was not forceful enough.”
The Associated Press and CNN can’t agree about whether Trump threatened to send troops into Mexico.
The AP, arguably America’s most reputable news source, reported Wednesday that President Trump threatened to send troops into Mexico while on the phone with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto. “You have a bunch of bad hombres down there,” Trump told Peña Nieto in the excerpt provided to the AP. “You aren’t doing enough to stop them. I think your military is scared. Our military isn’t, so I just might send them down to take care of it.”
Hours later, however, CNN would report that the AP excerpt was an internal readout of the call and not the actual transcript. CNN said Trump actually told Peña Nieto, “You have some pretty tough hombres in Mexico that you may need help with. We are willing to help with that big-league, but they have be knocked out and you have not done a good job knocking them out.”
“The excerpt of the transcript obtained by CNN differs with an official internal readout of the call that wrongly suggested Trump was contemplating sending troops to the border in a hostile way,” the CNN report said. This report by CNN came shortly after Jim Acosta, CNN’s White House correspondent, tweeted, “Source on Trump foreign leader calls says POTUS offered EPN the help of US troops to help get the ‘bad hombres.'”
The White House denied that the AP report was true, but the following day said that Trump’s comments were “lighthearted,” making it unclear if he indeed threatened to send troops into Mexico.
Reuters screws up the timing of Trump’s executive order.
Reuters confidently reported two weeks ago: “U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to sign executive orders starting on Wednesday that include a temporary ban on most refugees and a suspension of visas for citizens of Syria and six other Middle Eastern and African countries.”
The order from Trump, however, came that Friday. Reuters also reported Thursday that, “Yemeni officials say warships, likely American, shell al Qaeda positions.” Another Reuters reporter subsequently stated that “US officials say this is not true.”
Bitter Much? CNN's Stelter Questions AL Talk Host's Presence at WH Presser via Skype

As Curtis Houck demonstrated at NewsBusters on Wednesday, the historic step of including four outside-the-DC Beltway journalists at White House press conferences via Skype is not sitting well "with many establishment media types."
The aggrieved folks at CNN are particularly upset. :boohoo: Houck noted that the network's Dylan Byers reported, in Houck's words, that the move "upset some in the White House press corps" because it would "divert attention from what in-house reporters wanted to talk about."
Based on Brian Stelter's reaction to Friday's Skype presence of an Alabama talk radio host, it would appear that another of their objections is that outside questioners might draw attention to what Beltway-area reporters don't want to talk about.
Stelter appeared on Wolf Blitzer's one-hour early afternoon Eastern Time show on Friday.

Let's talk about these press briefings themselves. Jim Acosta raised the issue -- they're a bit more produced with special guests, Skype questions, timing. What's your take?
BRIAN STELTER: Not to be the pessimist here, but it is beneficial to have local reporters weighing in asking questions. It does, however, take away time from the journalists who are in the room, who spend every single day covering these foreign and domestic issues for the entire country.['And takes away from our time to make stuff up regardless of what the W.H. tells us'.
One downside of these Skype questions is that they're bringing in conservative talk radio show hosts as well. They certainly have a role to play. Conservative talk radio show hosts like Dale Jackson who asked a question from Alabama certainly have an important role to play in the media ecosystem but when you're having questions from people like that, you're not getting as many questions about important domestic and foreign policy matters. :boohoo:
So there's just a tension here, back and forth. I think Spicer wrapped up pretty early today. He was not asked about that Bowling Green Massacre mistake by Kellyanne Conway, said that on MSNBC yesterday. She's not apologized for it and Spicer did not follow-up.
But I agree with your guest, the importance here of establishing a baseline about the unemployment numbers and the jobs figures. The fact that this White House seems to be agreeing with the numbers and not disputing them, not trying to challenge them, is significant. The president woke up and tweeted a whole lot of things, a whole lot of wild things this morning. And there was barely any time to follow-up about that in this briefing today. Yes, it's a relatively normal day as David was saying but we're still seeing a lot of disruption on a daily basis, via the president's Twitter account.
Stelter's viewers who don't know better will certainly believe that the question from conservative talker Dale Jackson must not have been about "important domestic and foreign policy matters" relevant to "the entire country."
Let's go to the briefing transcript and see what Jackson's question was:
SEAN SPICER: Let me go to the fourth Skype seat. Dale Jackson from WVNN Talk Radio in Huntsville, Alabama.
DALE JACKSON: Sean, thank you very much for taking questions from outside the elite media bubble there in D.C. My question is about immigration. Donald Trump made this the forefront of his campaign, the foundation of it, yet the DACA and DAPA programs still exist. And I learned from a member of Congress yesterday that the Trump administration is still issuing the work permits that (inaudible) individuals.
Question one is, when are these programs going to be ended? And question two, when will they stop issuing work permits to these individuals?
MR. SPICER: Thanks, Dale. I think as you know, Secretary Kelly just assumed office. We are reviewing these programs. We've made it very clear that we'll have further updates on immigration referring to DACA and DAPA. The President has made significant progress on addressing the pledge that he made to the American people regarding immigration problems that we face, and I think we're going to see more action on that in the next few weeks.
Last time I checked, Brian Stelter, immigration was an "important domestic and foreign policy matter" about which "the entire country" is concerned.
Americans who follow the news around the country are deeply concerned about the impact of DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and DAPA (Deferred Action for Parental Accountability). Arguably encouraged by DACA's existence, a combined 108,000 unaccompanied children crossed southwest border in fiscal 2014 and 2015 alone. A virtually identical number of "family unit apprehensions" also occurred during those two years.
DACA gives unaccompanied children "a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation and eligibility for a work permit." DAPA involves "a three-year, renewable work permit and exemption from deportation" for "certain illegal immigrants who have lived in the United States since 2010 and have children who are either American citizens or lawful permanent residents."
The impact? "Just under half of the nation’s unauthorized immigrant population – estimated currently at about 11 million – could have potentially benefited" from these two programs.
Even though a Supreme Court deadlock kept in place a Circuit Court ruling blocking these programs from being implemented, Jackson's question would appear to indicate that the Obama administration and its still-in-place apparatchiks inside the Trump administration are proceeding as if the ruling doesn't exist. If that's indeed the case, the talk host's impatience with the new administration is fully justified, and Spicer's answer appearing to confirm the lack of immediate action is wholly unsatisfactory.
The Beltway press corps inside the "elite media bubble" to which Jackson referred had eight years to ask President Obama and his press secretaries meaningful questions about illegal immigration. All too often, what we got instead were wastes of time, including a breathless inquiry about an Obama weekend father-daughter outing.
At the same time, Stelter clearly considered whether Kellyanne Conway would "apologize" for her "Bowling Green massacre" mistake and parsing President Trump's tweets far more important matters than Jackson's apparently unimportant question on illegal immigration. If this really reflects what journalists inside the Beltway "really want to talk about," Team Trump ought to seriously consider going to an all-Skype, all-outside-the-Beltway format.
For the record, Conway admitted her error at roughly the same time Stelter was bloviating, and the world can now go on.

Trump Declares CNN, NYT, CBS, ABC And NBC Are "The Enemy of The American People"
If you thought yesterday's press conference was "ranting and raving", it appears President Trump just turned the anti-'Fake news'-media amplifier up to '11', declaring CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS , The New York Times (yet not The Washington Post) as "enemies of the American people".
Incidentally, this was the second tweet, after Trump removed the first version one, which some thought was deleted as it was just a little too "aggressive" but as it turned out, simply ommitted ABC and CBS.
"The mainstream media has not fired or terminated anyone associated with following our campaign," Mr. Bannon said. "Look at the Twitter feeds of those people: they were outright activists of the Clinton campaign." (He did not name specific reporters or editors.) "That's why you have no power," Mr. Bannon added. "You were humiliated."
"You're the opposition party," Mr. Bannon said. "Not the Democratic Party. You're the opposition party. The media's the opposition party."

CNN has come under heavy fire from many people for reporting fake news including President Trump who called CNN ‘very fake news’ at his last presser. CNN can dish it out, but they can’t take it! After bullying Trump and colluding with Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election cycle they are finally getting a dose of their own medicine.
Of course CNN was blathering on about the cost to keep President Trump safe and how to make it fiscally better for the American people…all of a sudden liberals want to watch pennies and be fiscally responsible. I guess we’ll just have to suspend reality for a moment to forget about the trillions of debt Obama racked up.

O'Keefe is known for undercover sting operations which have led to such bombshells as the DNC's paid agitator network, the outing of "DisruptJ20" / Antifa organizers which took place at comet ping pong - and netted three arrests (including a suspected pedophile), and most recently New Hampshire election fraud.
Today O'Keefe was interviewed on Sean Hannity's radio show where he revealed that a major network has been "stung"
O'Keefe: In the next 48 hours, Project Veritas, like Wikileaks, will be releasing hundreds of hours of tape from within the establishment media. Our next target is in fact, the media.
Hannity: How long have you been working on this?
O'Keefe: We've had people on the inside come to us. Just like Julian Assange has people come to him, we've had people, sources come to us and give us information, and we're going to be releasing it "Wikileaks Style" this week.
Moments later:
Hannity: Can you give us a hint what organizations are going to be impacted by this?
O'Keefe: It's one that Trump has really been talking about, you can probably use your imagination.
In other words, a closeted Trump supporter working deep inside hyper-liberal CNN just gave O'Keefe a ton of behind the scenes footage of "The Most Trusted Name In News." My guess is we're about to hear a bunch of establishment media puppets revealing their extreme hatred for the sitting President of the United States.
Remember that time CNN employees were laughing about Trump's plane crashing? If O'Keefe's release is anything along these lines, popcorn sales are about to go through the roof...

This is almost too stunning for words. Seriously, not kidding.
In a twitter response to a person concerned about allowing adult males in the restroom facilities of women and girls, CNN host Chris Cuomo -a father of two girls himself- says the girls are the problem, and the parents are “overprotective” and “intolerant” for not wanting their 12-year-old daughter exposed to men in the restroom.
CNN’s Chris Cuomo thinks that a 12 year old little girl is the problem if she doesn’t want to be in a locker room with a male where he can expose his genitals to her. He also said that if her father had a problem with it, he is either overprotective or intolerant. There are no words for the level of degeneracy this man has sunk to. What kind of society do we have when it’s not even a priority to protect our daughters from sexual perversion?
Chris Cuomo received a lot of backlash for his tweet so he tried defending his position by saying that he has 2 daughters. He claims he has the same instinct to protect, however; he’s such a slave to his doxies that ‘equality’ for all eclipses logic. Equality means having your 12 year old daughters exposed to a male’s genitals at school. Unbelievable. Shame on you, Chris Cuomo.

Shortly after President Donald Trump vowed to “do something” about the “cunning” media who he once again called “the enemy” of the American people, CNN announced on air it had been barred from today’s White House briefing. CNN reports New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and Politico also were told they were not on the White House list, for today’s off-camera briefing.
The New York Times reported it, CNN and Politico were not allowed to enter White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s office, calling it “an usual breach of protocol.”
Breitbart, Fox News, Washington Times, and One America News Network were among those given entry, CNN reported.
Today’s off-camera gaggle is distinct from the formal on-camera White House Press Briefing, held in the White House’s official briefing room and led by Spicer, which is not scheduled to take place today. It is not unusual to forego the on-camera press briefing on days when POTUS delivers a major speech, as happened this morning at CPAC.
CNN reports it was told by Spicer that the briefing was intended as a much smaller pool-coverage gathering, which typically means one print reporter, one radio reporter, etc. Spicer said he decided to expand the list of invitees as he saw fit, to include conservative-leaning news organizations; Spicer told CNN the intent was not to exclude certain news orgs, the cable news outlet reported.
Nonetheless, the White House Correspondents Association has protested today’s move, and some organizations, including Associated Press and Time magazine, have said they are boycotting, though it’s unclear if they were on the Trump Administrations list of the Invited.
Shortly before news of the briefing broke, Trump promised his administration is going to “do something about” the press, telling CPAC attendees he wants to bar use of unnamed sources.
“They shouldn’t be allowed to use sources unless they use somebody’s name,’ Trump told an enthusiastic crowd of conservatives at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference gathering outside Washington, D.C.
“[The press] are corporatist globalist media that are adamantly opposed to a economic nationalist agenda like Donald Trump has,” the former Breitbart chief said, and Trump parroted one day later.
“He’s going to continue to press his agenda. And, as economic conditions get better, as more jobs get better, they’re going to continue to fight,” said Bannon, referring to the media as “The Opposition Party.”

Three CNN Employees Resign Over Retracted Story on Russia Ties
“CNN has accepted the resignation of the employees involved in the story’s publication,” a network spokesperson says

Three CNN employees have handed in their resignations over a retracted story linking President Trump to Russia, the network announced Monday.
Thomas Frank, who wrote the story in question; Eric Lichtblau, an editor in the unit; and Lex Haris, who oversaw the unit, have all left CNN.
“In the aftermath of the retraction of a story published on CNN.com, CNN has accepted the resignation of the employees involved in the story’s publication,” a network spokesperson said in a statement Monday.
On Thursday, CNN investigative reporter Thomas Frank published a report involving an investigation of a Russian investment fund with possible ties to several Trump associates.
According to CNN, an internal investigation found that “some standard editorial processes were not followed when the article was published.”
Citing a single unnamed source, the story reported that Congress was investigating a “Russian investment fund with ties to Trump officials.”
CNN explained Monday that “these types of stories” usually would go through several departments, including fact-checkers, journalism standards experts and lawyers.
But the network says there was a “breakdown in editorial workflow” which “disturbed the CNN executives who learned about it.”
The network’s investigative unit was told during a meeting on Monday that the retraction did not necessarily mean the facts of the story were wrong. But, rather, “the story wasn’t solid enough to publish as-is,” according to one of the people briefed on the investigation.
The story, which only appeared on the network’s site, was quickly disputed on Friday, as one of the people mentioned in the story — Trump ally Anthony Scaramucci — took issue with Frank’s reporting, insisting he “did nothing wrong.”
“Once it was determined that editorial processes were not followed, CNN deleted the story from CNN.com,” the network said Friday on its site. “Soon thereafter, the story was officially retracted and replaced with an editor’s note.”
The piece “did not meet CNN’s editorial standards and has been retracted,” the note said. “Links to the story have been disabled.”
The editor’s note also added an apology to Scaramucci.
“CNN did the right thing. Classy move. Apology accepted,” Scaramucci tweeted the next morning. “Everyone makes mistakes. Moving on.”
Haris, Lichtblau and Frank had solid reputations among their colleagues.
Frank worked as reporter for USA Today and Newsday before joining CNN. Lichtblau is a former New York Times Pulitzer-Prize winning reporter. And Haris was the executive editor of CNN Investigates.
“On Friday, CNN retracted a story published by my team. As Executive Editor of that team, I have resigned,” Haris said in a statement. “I’ve been with CNN since 2001, and am sure about one thing: This is a news organization that prizes accuracy and fairness above all else. I am leaving, but will carry those principles wherever I go.”

CNN anchor Don Lemon lashed out at former White House aide Cliff Sims over President Donald Trump’s Charlottesville remarks and ended the segment early after he was accused by his guest of "contributing" to the political divide in the country.
While covering the White House Correspondents’ Dinner and the rally Trump held simultaneously in Green Bay, Wis. on Saturday night, CNN’s Alisyn Camerota began the conversation by criticizing President Trump’s pivot from his somber rally remarks about the deadly synagogue shooting in Poway, Calif. to his fiery attacks against the Russia investigation.
Sims responded by saying all Americans are “watching the same movie” and how they are “seeing dramatically different things” when it comes to the Trump presidency. He used Lemon’s response to Charlottesville as an example that his views of Trump’s remarks are “diametrically opposed” to many others, including himself, adding that Trump “did condemn” white supremacy.
“Then you’re delusional. Then you’re delusional, Cliff,” Lemon talked over Sims. “You’re saying because the president says words that are hollow- because the president said ‘we should come together.’”
“I couldn’t hear anything you just said, Don, because you insisted on talking over me,” Sims shot back. “So I really don’t know what you’re saying right now.”
“If you stop talking, then we won’t be talking over each other and I will let you respond,” Lemon said.
“Well, you want to interview me!” Sims exclaimed. “You asked me to come on your program, so give me a chance to talk!”
Lemon accused the “Team of Vipers” author of saying that “the president’s words don’t matter,” which Sims denied. Sims then challenged Lemon to give an example of Trump “being a white supremacist.”
“I never called the president a white supremacist, so you’re watching the wrong program or you’re not hearing what I’m saying. What I have called the president is a racist,” the CNN anchor said. “When you call nations ‘s---hole countries,’ when you call African-American players ‘sons of b--hes, when you say there are ‘fine people on both sides,’ when you lie about it afterwards --“
Sims attempted to explain that Trump was saying there were “fine people on both sides” of the debate over Confederate statues, but Lemon insisted that’s not what the president said.
After another heated exchange, the former Trump aide accused Lemon of “contributing” to stoking division by re-litigating the Charlottesville remarks.
“I’m not the person who said that they were ‘fine people on both sides,’” Lemon fired back. “I’m not the person who called countries ‘sh--hole countries.’”
“You actually don’t even know if he said that because that’s another one of those based on anonymous and people in the room say blah, blah, blah, you actually don’t know if he said that,” Sims told Lemon.
“Yes, I do know that he said that,” Lemon claimed. “And it’s not ‘blah, blah, blah.”
The “CNN Tonight” host had enough of Sims and cut the segment short, shifting to someone he says “tried to bring this country together.”
“And that’s you, Don. You do a great job at that,” Sims sarcastically added before his mic was cut.
Lemon was actually referring to President Barack Obama.

This week it was reported that CNN lost 26 percent of its audience, down 237,000 viewers since April 2018, and down nearly 40 percent from its 2016 peak. To put those numbers in their proper perspective:
■ According to Wikipedia, the population of prostitutes in the U.S. (approximately one million) is larger than the population of CNN viewers.
■ Across all cable networks, CNN now ranks 15th, behind Home and Garden TV (4th), the Hallmark Channel (9th) and the Food Network (14th).
■ Their remaining 767,000 viewers could all comfortably fit in Jefferson County, Kentucky (current population 771,158).
■ Their current ratings are lower than those for failed TV shows such as TBS’s Wrecked (846,000), cancelled after three seasons. The bottom-rated show on broadcast TV this week, CW’s The 100, had 901,000 viewers, which was 134,000 more than CNN.
■ More people tuned in for the 2018 Little League Baseball World Series (an average of 1.02 million per game; more than 3 million for the championship) than watch CNN these days.
■ One survey suggests there could be twice as many witches and pagans in the United States (1 to 1.5 million) than there are CNN viewers.
■ Americans are more likely to ride a bicycle to work than to watch CNN. According to a new report from the Census Bureau, 836,569 Americans over the age of 16 say they ride a bike to work.
■ More households keep chickens and other poultry birds as pets (1,020,000) than tune in to CNN’s primetime shows, according to a survey from the American Veterinary Medical Association.

The Department of Justice reporter for NPR referred to the date of Attorney General Barr's summary of the Mueller report as "a date that will live ... in infamy," a phrase many associate with President Franklin Roosevelt's 1941 speech following the Pearl Harbor attack.
NPR's Carrie Johnson made the comment during the NPR Politics podcast last Wednesday while discussing Barr's testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, during which he answered questions about the summary he gave of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.
It was later revealed that Mueller wrote a letter to Barr and spoke to him on the phone, expressing his frustrations with what he described as a mischaracterization of his conclusions by Barr. Despite having presumably read the letter on March 27, Barr told Congress a week later he did not know what Mueller's opinion was of his summary letter.
"March 24th, a date that will live in my brain in infamy, a Sunday, remember, Barr sends this four-page letter to Congress," Johnson said during the podcast. Listeners soon drew connections to her phrase and the remarks made by President Roosevelt in 1941, the day after the Pearl Harbor attack, when he declared war on Japan.
"Yesterday, December 7th, 1941, a date which will live in infamy, the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked," President Roosevelt said.
Although both days are undoubtedly significant in the fabric of American history, some have criticized the perceived comparison as an exaggeration, since more than 2,000 people were killed during Pearl Harbor.
Johnson did not return a request for comment.
