Texas Governor Rick Perry Wants More Security Along U.S.-Mexican Border — Says Obama “making some decisions that are not in the best interests of American citizens”

ABC News’ Martha Raddatz pressed Texas Governor Rick Perry on This Week with George Stephanopoulos Sunday morning on his theory, voiced on Fox News earlier in the week, that the federal government might be “in on” the border crisis somehow.


“Do you really believe there is some sort of conspiracy to get people into the United States by the Obama administration?” Raddatz asked.

Perry had said earlier that the White House’s collusion was one of the only ways to explain the influx of immigrations across Mexico from Central American countries.
“When I have written a letter that is dated May of 2012, and I have yet to have a response from this administration, I will tell you they either are inept or don’t care,” Perry replied, adding an extra possibility: “…or you have some ulterior motive from which you are functioning from.”

Texas Gov. Rick Perry repeated an accusation that undocumented children coming to the U.S. from Latin American countries might be a result of “ulterior motives” from President Obama.


“I have to believe that when you don’t respond in any way that you are either inept or you have some ulterior motive of which you are functioning from,” Perry said during an interview Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.”



“I don’t believe he particularly cares whether or not the border of the United States is secure,” Perry said when asked by host Martha Raddatz if he stood by comments made in a June 17 interview with “Fox and Friends.”


“This president, I will suggest, is either totally and absolutely either inept, or making some decisions that are not in the best interests of American citizens,” Perry said during that interview with Fox News.


Perry also suggested that non-Mexicans crossing the U.S.-Mexican border are coming from Middle Eastern countries such as Syria.


“We also have a record high of other than Mexicans being apprehended at the border,” Perry said. “These are people that are coming from states like Syria that have substantial connections back to terrorist regimes.”


Politifact Texas referred to Perry’s Syria claim as “ridiculous” and “not accurate.”


Perry is considering a second presidential run in 2016 and has decided to not seek another term as Texas governor. During the 2012 Republican primary, some primary voters saw Perry’s stance on immigration as too liberal after he questioned the compassion of those opposed to providing tuition for the children of illegal immigrants.


Perry said his criticism of federal immigration policy precedes the Obama administration, noting that he has sent requests for more federal border security to the White House for the past decade. However, his recent comments have taken on a more personal tone suggesting that Obama is willfully allowing the current immigration crisis to unfold.


After Raddatz asked if Perry was engaging in “conspiracy” talk, Perry stood by his views and said the number of undocumented children currently being housed in facilities along the border could hurt American citizens in case of a natural disaster or other unforeseen crisis.


“If we have a major event, a hurricane, that comes into the Gulf Coast, I don’t have a place to be housing people who have been displaced because this administration has been housing them,” Perry said.

The United States’ neglect of its southern border has created a threat that challenges the country’s national security, says the general in charge of overseeing the region, and he is concerned that terrorists and others can exploit the vulnerabilities that have been created.
“In comparison to other global threats, the near collapse of societies in the hemisphere with the associated drug and [undocumented immigrant] flow are frequently viewed to be of low importance,” Marine Corps Gen. John Kelly, commander of U.S. Southern Command, told Defense One. “Many argue these threats are not existential and do not challenge our national security. I disagree.”
Kelly has asked Congress to allocate more money and equipment to help him and his command fight the steady flow of drugs, weapons, and migrants from Central America, but the budget has already been cut when it comes to border security.
More than 100,000 migrants have come from Central America to the U.S. border, mostly children who have traveled thousands of miles from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.
But it’s not only children coming north. Kelly said that last year, his task force was not able to act on almost 75 percent of illegal trafficking incidents.
“Last year, we had to cancel more than 200 very effective engagement activities and numerous multilateral exercises,” Marine Corps Gen. John F. Kelly told members of the Senate Armed Services Committee in March, his command’s website reports. “I simply sit and watch it go by. And because of service cuts, I don’t expect to get any immediate relief, in terms of assets, to work with in this region of the world.” Read more…

America’s porous southern border and the recent surge in illegal immigration is more than just a “humanitarian crisis,” claims the top U.S. general in charge of Central and South America, it’s a threat to the United States’ very existence.
Marine Corps Gen. John Kelly is commander of the U.S. Southern Command, or SOUTHCOM, charged with responsibility for the Caribbean Sea and all lands south of Mexico.
Particularly in regards to the drug trade, murder rates and terrorist activity brewing in Central America, Kelly says, the waves of Latin Americans sweeping through Mexico and illegally into Texas presents a threat to the U.S. every bit as serious as Iran or North Korea.
“In comparison to other global threats, the near collapse of societies in [this] hemisphere with the associated drug and [illegal immigrant] flow are frequently viewed to be of low importance,” Kelly said in an interview with Defense One. “Many argue these threats are not existential and do not challenge our national security. I disagree.”
It isn’t the first time Kelly has sounded the alarm. In testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee in March, Kelly complained that budget cuts in recent years have handcuffed the military’s ability to shut down many drug and human trafficking corridors.
“Last year, we had to cancel more than 200 very effective engagement activities and numerous multilateral exercises,” Kelly said, explaining that a full 74 percent of “actionable illicit trafficking events” simply go unanswered, because he doesn’t have the funds or resources to do anything about it.
“I simply sit and watch it go by,” he continued. “And because of service cuts, I don’t expect to get any immediate relief, in terms of assets, to work with in this region of the world.”
Worse yet, he continued, with smuggling routes wide open for business, it’s far more than cocaine or children seeking a better life getting a free pass across the border.
“Clearly, criminal networks can move just about anything on these smuggling pipelines,” Kelly said in testimony before the House Armed Services Committee in February. “Terrorist organizations could seek to leverage those same smuggling routes to move operatives with intent to cause grave harm to our citizens or even quite easily bring weapons of mass destruction into the United States.”
SOUTHCOM’s intelligence assets reveal the possibility is far more than just crying wolf.
“Supporters and sympathizers of Lebanese Hezbollah are involved in both licit and illicit activities in the region,” Kelly told Congress. “Members, supporters, and adherents of Islamic extremist groups are present in Latin America. Islamic extremists visit the region to proselytize, recruit, establish business venues to generate funds, and expand their radical networks. Some Muslim communities in the Caribbean and South America are exhibiting increasingly extremist ideology and activities, mostly as a result from ideologues’ activities and external influence from the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. Mr. Chairman, we take all these activities seriously.”
Threat spreads through U.S.
As America’s top military eye on Central America, Kelly is also warning that the recent spike in illegal immigrants moving from countries like Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras across the U.S. border presents another level of threat. Those three countries, he noted, are all among the Top 5 nations worldwide in homicide rates, in part because of their rampant gang activity.
“Although there are a number of other countries I work with in Latin America and the Caribbean that are going in the same direction,” Kelly told Defense One, “the so-called Northern Triangle (Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras) is far and away the worst off.”
Since October, tens of thousands of migrants have made the dangerous journey north from Latin America to the United States border. Many are children, and statistics show the vast majority of the immigrants in the recent influx are unaccompanied minors who have traveled from Central America’s “Northern Triangle.”
And between rampant drug trafficking and human trafficking of Central American youngsters, Kelly warned Congress, cartels and gangs that have already spread throughout the U.S. will only grow more dangerous.
“Chairman, gone are the days of the ‘cocaine cowboys,’” Kelly testified. “Instead, we and our partners are confronted with cocaine corporations that have franchises all over the world, including 1,200 American cities, as well as criminal enterprises like the violent transnational gang Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13, that specialize in extortion and human trafficking.
“The FBI has warned that MS-13 has a significant presence in California, North Carolina, New York, and northern Virginia, and is expanding into new areas of the United States, including Indian reservations in South Dakota,” he concluded.
Roger Noriega, an American Enterprise Institute fellow and former assistant secretary of state for Western Hemisphere affairs during the George W. Bush administration, was quoted last month in the Washington Free Beacon putting a fine point on how gang activity and arms smuggling could create problems not just along the border, but anywhere in the country.

BREAKING: Plane Full of Illegal Immigrants Lands in San Diego

HOUSTON, Texas--Breitbart Texas has learned that a plane full of illegal immigrants from South Texas have just landed in San Diego. They will likely be bused to a facility in Murrieta, California, where furious citizens assert that their town is no place for the migrants.

A source on the ground provided Breitbart Texas with a photo of a Department of Homeland Security bus spotted heading to the San Diego airport.
CBS reported that the migrants are expected to arrive in Murrieta "just after 10 a.m." PST.
John Henry, a Murrieta resident since 1991, told Breitbart Texas that it takes about an hour to get from San Diego to Murrieta by car.
On Sunday Breitbart Texas broke the news that federal agents plan to bring riot gear and shields to the town on Monday to ensure that citizen protesters do not block the bus from delivering the migrants to the facility. It is unclear at this time how many illegal immigrants will ultimately arrive.
Jeremy Oliver, a resident of Temecula, California--a town that neighbors Murrieta--told Breitbart Texas that local police officers warned the protesters that "it's going to get ugly." He said, "The feds are pissed that they haven't been able to use this facility. Officers out there warned people that federal agents will be in Murrieta on Monday--they are going to get the next bus through no matter what. Riot gear and shields will be used to push the crowd back."

Doctor Speaks Out Against Feds Silencing Medical Staff on Border

“It is not a violation of HIPAA for a doctor or nurse to speak out about a public health concern and not mention a patient’s name,” Vliet said. “Medical personnel should be free to be interviewed and speak about the kinds of diseases they are seeing and the frequency of them. This would serve the public good and safety–again, it is not a violation of HIPAA.”
Most of the border minors are being kept in overcrowded facilities ridden with poor hygiene; according to Dr. Vliet, this is the ideal condition for a viral outbreak.
She said, “Many people are trying to diminish the seriousness of this. They say, ‘We have these diseases in the U.S.’ Well yes, we do, but they’ve been well controlled, we have good hygiene, and most of our parents keep children home when they’re sick. … It’s a very real risk. It could get out of hand very quickly; but since these are common disease that people have heard of, the risk isn’t necessarily taken seriously.”
Vliet mentioned that chickenpox–one of the illnesses identified within the migrant population–can be deadly and has the potential to spread to the general public. She said, “Chickenpox is highly contagious. What’s worse about that is that it’s much more severe when adults get it–in older people, it can cause death. It’s very serious.”
In Vliet’s view, nurses and doctors in facilities have the right to speak out about medical dangers–and they should, she said, in order to decrease the chance of illnesses being contracted by the general public.
It is apparent, however, that the federal government is attempting to hide certain aspects of the border crisis. In June Breitbart Texas reported that Border Patrol agents were threatened with criminal charges for speaking to the press. And one month earlier, in May, Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) ordered agents not to speak to reporters regarding the 36,000 convicted criminal illegal immigrants that were released onto U.S. soil.

Breaking: Tuberculosis Spreading at Obama Immigrant Camps

Tuberculosis is spreading at the Obama immigrant camps.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) seems to think the children coming across the southern border are remarkably healthy. It’s a sentiment shared by BCFS — the Texas-based agency formerly known as Baptist Child & Family Services contracted to run camps at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio and Fort Sill in Oklahoma.
More than 7,000 children have been processed through the two camps, according to a BCFS official. They allege that only 119 children have been treated for lice, 22 for scabies, and one for the H1N1 Flu. BCFS says the most common illnesses seen at Lackland are fever, headache, upper respiratory cold and ingrown toenails.
However, at least a half dozen anonymous sources, including nurses and health care providers who worked at Lackland, allege that the government is covering up what they believe to be a very serious health threat.
Several of my sources tell me that tuberculosis has become a dangerous issue at both the border and the camps.
“The amount of tuberculosis is astonishing,” one health care provider told me. “The nurses are telling us the kids are really sick. The tuberculosis is definitely there.”

HHS Will ‘Muzzle the Media’ During Tour of Immigrant Child Housing

Health and Human Services officials will allow reporters to visit a military facility housing some of the immigrant children who have arrived at the southern border in recent weeks, but only if the media promises not to record anything, not to ask any questions during the tour, and not to talk to any of the staff members or children.
“This violates the First Amendment,” Representative Jim Bridenstine (R., Okla.), who represents the congressional district containing the housing facility at Fort Sill, said of the HHS invitation to the media. “This is not transparent. HHS is trying to muzzle the media and hide the human tragedy that has resulted directly from the administration’s failure to enforce the law.”
HHS attached seven rules “in order to protect the safety and privacy of the children” for the media who come to the tour, according to an HHS invitation released by Bridenstine’s office:
- No recording devices will be allowed
- No questions will be allowed during the tour
- No interacting with staff and children at the shelter
- We ask that your questions be provided via email or phone after the tour to Kenneth Wolfe
- HHS ACF public affairs will provide answers to your follow up questions as quickly as possible
- We will provide photos of the facility after the tour
- There will be no on-site interviews by HHS staff before or after the tour, all inquiries go to Kenneth Wolfe
Bridenstine was barred from entering the Fort Sill facility on July 1. He is trying to schedule a July 12 visit, in addition to unannounced visits that he will again attempt to make.
“Ordinary Americans have a right to know what is happening in these facilities, how the children are being treated, and what is being done to stop this human tragedy,” he said in a Monday morning statement.

Murrieta protesters divert a third bus load of illegal immigrants

Despite a recent report about the Federal government preparing to send Federal Marshals and ICE agents equipped with full riot gear to push protesters back in Murrieta, California and force them to accept the dumping of illegal immigrants in their neighborhoods, the protesters stood firm again today and they forced the diversion of a third bus load of illegal immigrants to San Ysidro.

For a third time, the buses were rerouted to the San Ysidro, California Border Patrol station, near the U.S.-Mexico border, for processing. The demonstrators gathered in areas to the north and south of the Murrieta station after law enforcement blocked off the road near the station itself. Many told Breitbart News they considered their stand a success, since buses scheduled for Murrieta are avoiding it as long as demonstrators remain.


The anti-illegal immigration protests Monday brought out new, first-time demonstrators and onlookers from many different backgrounds–from young enlisted Marines to legal immigrants from Germany, Mexico, and Central America. Karen Siegemund of Rage Against the Media, comedian and author Evan Sayet, and radio host Kender Macgowan made it out as well.

This policy appears to be very unpopular with the American people in general and I think the fact that this is happening in California is representative of that fact. For once the Obama regime seems to be losing the propaganda war and because of this I think they did not feel the time was right to escalate the situation by sending in Federal agents in riot gear.


The protesters are vowing to stay there until this manufactured crisis is over, and I hope they do, but the question is; how long will the Obama regime allow this to happen before they step in with the big boot of the Federal government and literally beat these people into submission?

According to Eric Odom, the La Raza members told him they were there to “protect the children.”


Murrieta has seen unrest since Friday as anti-illegal immigration activists clash with pro-amnesty protesters over the arrival of illegal immigrants, mainly children, from Central America.


As we reported earlier, those arrested for instigating violence against both anti-illegal immigration activists and police on July 4 were all pro-amnesty agitators who described themselves as “anarchist-communist.”


Despite the fact that the unrest was caused by pro-illegal groups, the federal riot police now arriving in the town have been sent ostensibly to deal with anti-immigration demonstrators.


The arrival of La Raza members is only likely to enflame tensions given the organization’s radical outlook, which has been attacked by critics as divisive and racist.


La Raza, which literally translates as “the race,” has been connected to the Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan (MEChA), an extremist Mexican race hate group which firmly believes in exploiting illegal immigration to bring about ‘La Reconquista’, a violent overthrow of the southern U.S. states that would be absorbed into Greater Mexico.


As Breitbart reported, La Raza activists were also out in force at a town hall meeting last week in Murrieta, chanting “Viva La Raza!” through a bullhorn.

The “Tequila Party,” a Latino group formed in opposition to the Tea Party, wrote to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and FBI Director James Comey on Monday to request that the Tea Party and several officials be investigated for their role in protesting and blocking the transfer of illegal aliens captured in Texas to Murrieta, California.

In their letter–signed by California attorney Ruben Salazar, pro-amnesty activist Dee Dee Garcia Blase, and Nebraska attorney Shirl Mora James–the group, writing on the letterhead of a new organization called “Somos Independents,” called on Holder and Comey to launch an “outside investigation” of Murrieta city councilwoman Diana Serafin; U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents Steven Golda and Gabe Pacheo; Murrieta mayor Alan Long, protest leader Patrice Lynes; the Murrieta Police Department, and local resident Joseph Culberson.



In addition, the signatories accuse Tea Party activists in Murrieta of being “homeland domestic terrorists (masquerading as patriots),” and allege that they were obstructing federal law enforcement from performing their jobs and terrorizing small refugee immigrant children from Central America with racial slurs.”



Update: Blase responded to a request by Breitbart News for further comment. In response to a question about whether the activists expected the Department of Justice to respond to the request, Blase said:

1) Supreme Court in Brandenburg v. Ohio enunciated the “imminent lawless action doctrine,” and held that speech is not protected by the 1st Amendment if the speaker intends to incite a violation of the law that is both imminent and likely. And, under California Penal Code Section 404.6, it is a state crime to engage in the mere urging of others to engage in acts of force or violence. And under Federal law, Title 18 USC Sec 249 prohibits hate crimes. Title 18 USC Sec 241 prohibits conspiracy against Civil Rights. Title 18 USC Sec 242 prohibits deprivation of rights under color of law.



2) Under Dennis v. US held that a State may forbid or proscribe advocacy of the use of force or violence where such advocacy is directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such action.



The “Masterminds of Murrieta” appears to have engaged in advocacy to use force or of law violation in order to incite or produce a riot.



In addition to these principles, the 1st amendment does not protect conduct, it protects speech only and it appears there were some individuals who were engaged in potential criminal conspiracy to violate federal and state laws.



Furthermore, we would like for DOJ and the FBI to determine who made the decision to block the bus since Mayor Alan Long admitted several protesters were from out-of-town–allegedly from FAIR or Numbers USA. This protest was highly organized. Did these out-of-town Tea Party protesters potentially violate Title 18 USC section 241, conspiracy against Civil Rights?

The gist of the article is that the traditional USA is dead, now totally in the hands of her enemies, Jew Marxists, so that no amount of protesting or voting Republican is going to change it. As I have written in various posts throughout this website, I was a part of the conspiracy myself, working as a university professor. To my credit, I did not preach the cultural Marxist message, but rather a conservative economic message to naive, gullible students. I thought that by creating a class of conservative university graduates the tide of Marxism could be turned back.

However, Long said that by sending the migrants to Murrieta the federal government is not enforcing immigration laws.

LAPD TO HALT DETENTION OF UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS AT REQUEST OF ICE

Federal judge found local authorities violated 4th Amendment rights of undocumented immigrant
The city of Los Angeles announced Monday that it will no longer honor requests from federal immigration officials to detain undocumented immigrants for possible deportation without either a court order or arrest warrant, citing constitutional concerns raised by recent court decisions.
In announcing the decision, Mayor Eric Garcetti and police Chief Charlie Beck cited a recent decision by a federal judge in Oregon who found that local authorities violated the 4th Amendment rights of an undocumented immigrant held for two weeks on an ICE hold despite being eligible for release. Specifically, the judge found that such detainers lacked the necessary legal underpinnings, such as probable cause or a judicial determination, required to hold a suspect for a longer period.
They also cited a bulletin to law enforcement from California Attorney General Kamala Harris last week questioning the legality of the detentions.
“Until this area of the law is further clarified by the courts, effective immediately the Los Angeles Police Department will no longer honor immigration detainer requests submitted by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE),” Garcetti and Beck said in a statement.
The decision by Los Angeles comes amid an escalating debate over U.S. immigration policy, fueled by questions over whether tens of thousands of undocumented Central American children who recently entered the U.S. illegally will be deported or allowed to stay. President Obama has vowed to ask Congress this week for added funding to deal with the the children and families’ cases.
Los Angeles’ decision to stop honoring the ICE requests represents another front in the immigration fight, with other local governments, including Philadelphia, Cook County, Ill., Newark, N.J., and other areas in California, recently deciding to limit or end their cooperation with federal immigration enforcement.
The LAPD already had previously curtailed its participation in the deportation program authorized by ICE’s Secure Communities program, which was signed into law by President George W. Bush on Sept. 30 2008. In October 2012, Chief Beck announced that the department would no longer honor requests from federal authorities to detain illegal immigrants arrested for low-level crimes and sought for deportation.
In a statement, ICE said it remains “committed to working with its law enforcement partners” and expects local authorities to comply with its detention requests.
“When law enforcement agencies turn criminals over to ICE rather than releasing them into the community, it enhances public safety and the safety of law enforcement,” the statement said.” To further this shared goal, ICE anticipates that law enforcement agencies will comply with immigration detainers.
The immigration holds have allowed ICE to investigate when an undocumented immigrant is arrested by local law enforcement and take them into custody if they are found to have committed serious crimes.
But the practice has been criticized by those who say it has resulted in the large-scale deportation of people who have not committed serious crimes.
Beck said he did not believe the decision would impact crime in Los Angeles. Since January, the LAPD has made a total of 50,000 arrests. Of those, ICE has made 773 requests for a detainer and 309 of those have been honored, according to LAPD officials.
LAPD jails only house suspects for up to 72 hours before they are transferred to the Los Angeles County jail system.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Nicole Nashida said Monday that under department policy, ICE is notified when the department begins processing an undocumented inmate out of the jail, which can take days or weeks. Inmates are not held past their normal release date but Nashida said that two ICE buses arrive each day to pick up inmates.
She said that together with their law enforcement partners, the department is evaluating that policy to ensure that it complies with ‘best practices.’

PERRY PASSES ON OBAMA GREETING AT THE AIRPORT
