Narco Execution Videos and Their Effects on the General Population
Tuesday, March 8, 2011 | Borderland Beat Reporter Smurf
This video surfaced today on the narco blogs, its content is extremely violent. It is unknown exactly when it was filmed, nor where it took place.
The film lasts seven minutes, in which a group of masked men in military style clothing have hung a man by his feet.
This person was clearly still alive when the assailants castrated him. Music can be heard playing in the background as one of the men step in and strategically peels back the face and skin of the victims before decapitating him.
After it is over, the people standing around joke and laugh while they take cell pictures of this gruesome act.
The video ends with the body being hacked up into pieces, and put into black plastic trash bags.
This type of intimidation has been occurring with alarming frequency. Not a month goes by that at least two or three of these murder videos or pics are uploaded and watched by those who follow the narco newswires. In this case, we do not know the circumstances of the crime, but it is a horror that words cannot do justice. Beginning with the Manuel Mendez Leyva video, this has been a tool of terror for organized crime. But it hasn't had the intended effect.
Rival groups will seek revenge and make their own videos. It is a cycle of violence that doesn't end until one group is permanently eradicated by the other. But even this is hard to accomplish. As we have seen in Juarez, the VCF organization was supposedly in its death throes and it was claimed that Chapo controlled the plaza.
But since that time, La Linea has put out video after video of murders and beatings. As have la Gente Nueva.
There must be a real dominant winner, or a legitimate non-aggression pact (possibly one with the federal government) before any of this madness ends. One more video only intimidates law enforcement and public citizens; narcos are cold-blooded and relatively fearless creatures until they realize that this time the camera is pointed at them.
Warning: Video is extremely graphic:
