Our move to our new server is now complete!

We'd like to apologize for the outage but would like to also thank you for bearing with us.

They won't be.

The old AN forums will stay on AN in a publicly viewable but archived format. Members that posted to those forums on AN will be able to take up discussion of previous topics here.

Well, the original deal was that MY forums specifically, would move. Surival, World at War, Terrorism, and some of the science forums were to be moved over here, locked over there and re-opened on this site.

That was my understanding.

Yes, that was the original plan when we first started negotiating the "merger" deal. But that was also before I found out that it would be fairly time consuming to convert the data from UBB software to vBulletin software, two completely different board software types. Truth be told, if we were actually moving the board data, we would probably still be out of service.

It was decided that Olav simply closing the applicable forums and leaving them publicly viewable/searchable/linkable on AN and, recreating the categories and restarting any threads of interest here on TAA would be the easiest course of action. As I'm sure you can tell, all of the same topic categories have already been created here and a number of threads originally found on AN have been started up.

Olav has offered the UBB data for the closed forums to those of us wanting it. You may want to contact him and have him send it to you.

Believe me, if it were easier, I would have preferred to bring the data over too if only for the sake of continuing a number of previous threads we had put so much time and effort into. But, it just wasn't feasible and I think the course we took was the best possible given the circumstances.
