    Default Media Bias

I did a search and amazingly it didn't look like we had a thread to feature leftist bias in the media so, here we go!

NBC News Caught Using Deceptive Edit… Again

    January 29, 2013

NBC News just can't stop with its ongoing crusade to deliberately and maliciously manipulate content in order to push Obama's agenda. Just how shamelessly and desperately dishonest is the Peacock Network? Let us count the ways:

    1. During last year's presidential election Andrea Mitchell was caught manufacturing a Romney gaffe where none existed.
    2. During last year's GOP primary, Ed Schultz edited video of Texas Governor Rick Perry to make him look racist.
    3. In April of last year, the "Today Show" was caught editing audio of a 9-1-1 call to make George Zimmerman look racist.
    4. In August of 2009, Contessa Brewer sliced and diced a photograph so it wouldn't look like a black man attended a Tea Party carrying a firearm.

And just today, NBC was caught in yet another malicious edit, this time to make Second Amendment advocates look as though they did something as heinous as heckling the heartsick father of a child who lost his six-year-old son in the Sandy Hook massacre. You can watch the full video and NBC's science fiction adaptation side-by-side here.

All of this has happened under the watch of Stave Capus (pictured above), who's not only the president of NBC News, but also the "the arbiter of issues involving ethics, style, standards, safety and other matters that affect the Division's journalistic bearing."

But Capus has obviously done nothing to stop the ongoing and flagrant fraud committed by his subordinates -- and in some cases his anchors.

How many Dan Rather moves like this does NBC News get to make before some action is taken? And if Capus isn't going to do something, maybe there's one person above him with a smidgen of character.

Media Falsely Claims Gun Activists Heckled Father of Murdered Newtown Boy

    January 29, 2013

Tuesday morning, many in the media went all in with a sanctimonious attack against gun-rights supporters, whom they accused of heckling Neil Heslin, the parent of a six-year-old boy murdered in the Sandy Hook massacre. The only problem is that it was all a lie. Mr. Heslin was not heckled.

If you look at the full, unedited tape (which was first obtained by Twitchy), you'll see that after 15 minutes of the audience remaining respectfully silent as Mr. Heslin spoke out against assault weapons, he then turns to ask the audience a direct question:

I ask if there’s anybody in this room that can give me one reason or challenge this question … why anybody in this room needs to have one of these assault-style weapons or military weapons or high-capacity clips.

Mr. Heslin then pauses waiting for someone in the audience to answer. His question is respectfully asked but no one says a word.

    Then Mr. Heslin says:

Not one person can answer that question.

And it's only then that a few people do answer the question, and do so respectfully.

The full, unedited video proves the media is lying. This is not heckling, this is someone respectfully asking a question and receiving a respectful answer.

Here's the unedited video. The moment in question occurs at the 15-minute mark:

    --

So who are those spreading this libel? Twitchy has listed all the usual suspects….

The official Twitter accounts of The Daily Beast, Slate, The Huffington Post, MSNBC, Gawker, along wth Andrew Kaczynski of BuzzFeed Politics, CNN's Piers Morgan, David Frum of the Daily Beast, Eric Boehlert of Media Matters, Michael Skolnik of the Global Grind, Democrat Congressman Jim Himes, Talking Point Memo's Josh Marshall, and Vanity Fair's Kurt Eichenwald.

And once again, NBC News has been caught red-handed maliciously editing video to further its left-wing agenda. This is how MSNBC crafted heckling where none occurred:

    --

    --

The media are so desperate to gin up energy and hate towards Second Amendment advocates in order to hand Obama a win that they've moved beyond bias and cheerleading and moved right into fraud.

Sheila Weller’s forthcoming tell-all ‘The News Sorority’ claims to offer up details on the scandalous and sometimes catty escapades of noteworthy newswomen, including how some apparently hold strong disdain for each other.

Amazon Sheila Weller's new tell-all book ‘The News Sorority’ allegedly dishes details about (from left to right) Christiane Amanpour, Diane Sawyer and Katie Couric.

Katie Couric cultivated an “American Girl identity” but she was also a bully with a “chip on her shoulder.”

Diane Sawyer strived to be “America’s Aunt” but she rode her staff hard and used “staged humility” to disarm critics.

Christiane Amanpour was fearless in the field and would remind her bosses, “Do you know that I’m the world’s best-known foreign correspondent?”

And, when feeling threatened, these pioneering, primetime newswomen would sometimes bare their claws at each other, according to a tell-all book that goes on sale next month.

When Couric found out Sawyer landed a much sought-after interview with a 57-year-old woman who had given birth to twins, the publicly perky anchor reportedly snarled, “I wonder who she b--- this time to get it,” veteran journalist Sheila Weller dished in the book.

These are just some of the juicy details in Weller’s tome “The News Sorority,” which chronicles the careers of three of TV news’ top female anchors.

While Weller praises them for their fortitude and for their ability to rise to the top in a brutal business, none of these women come away blemish-free in this 471-page exposé, which goes on sale Sept. 30.
Katie Couric became the master of the ‘compli-insult’ to rattle colleagues, including Ann Curry, the book claims.

A Couric friend said Weller was “relying on classic anti-feminist caricatures, tabloid-like misrepresentations and outright falsehoods about these three extraordinary women.”

“No comment,” Sawyer’s mouthpiece said when asked for comment after her portrayal in Weller’s book.

There was also no comment from the rep for Amanpour.

Back in June, the Daily News first reported that Weller had written the take-no-prisoners book and gave a sample of what was to come.

The News described how Couric, according to the book, staged a pity party and compared herself to Hillary Clinton after she took a beating in the press for jumping ship to CBS after many years as co-host of NBC’s “Today” show.

“Katie deeply related to Hillary; she felt she was being pummeled as the first female anchor just like Clinton was being pummeled as the first major female presidential candidate,” Weller wrote.
The book had some nasty things to say about Christiane Amanpour.

But Couric, Weller claims, also used to psychologically pummel Ann Curry when she was the news reader on “Today.”

“Katie was a bully and Ann was the victim,” a source at ABC told Weller.

One classic Couric maneuver was to throw Curry “off balance by criticizing Ann’s clothing choices just before they went on air,” Weller wrote.
Couric’s colleagues at CBS later dubbed it the “compli- insult.”

“She would look at someone and say, ‘I really think you’re clever, but why is your script so horrible?” one staffer said, according to Weller.

Well... the American Public is AWAKE finally.

Ouch: Fox News' Weekend Daytime Show Has More Views Than Every CNN Primetime

    Sarah Jean Seman | Sep 10, 2014

Fox News continues to crush CNN and MSNBC in viewership. Recent Nielsen ratings revealed that one of Fox News’ shows, “Cashin’ In,” trounced every single one of CNN’s primetime programs, including "Hunt" and "CNN Films." The real kicker—”Cashin’ In” airs in the middle of the day...on Saturdays.

The show, with host Eric Bolling, had more than one million viewers last Saturday, a larger audience than "CNN Newsroom” and MSNBC’s “Melissa Harris-Perry” could muster combined.

As embarrassing as this is for CNN and MSNBC, it should not come as a total surprise. Americans continue to rank Fox News as the most trusted television news source.

Notice where MSNBC ranks: at the bottom, with only 5 percent of the public's confidence.

Limbaugh Outs The People Behind The “Stop Rush” Campaign

Rush Limbaugh Fighting Back and Naming Names Against Communist Front Group Behind “Stop Rush” Campaign

” Limbaugh has discovered that Communist front-group, George Soros-funded Media Matters, a group started to bring down media not cheering the pro-Obama anti-American leftist agenda, particularly FOX News and conservative talk superstars like Limbaugh, is the group trying to bring him down by bullying his advertisers.
On his highly rated program, unlike progressive talk radio which has been utterly rejected by free markets, Limbaugh discussed the “Stop Rush” Campaign on Tuesday, also revealing that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), apparently another anti-free speech group unable to debate Limbaugh intellectually, but can only use Chicago bully tactics, is trying to remove him from the air.

Rush points out that as an investigation revealed, the campaign to get him off the air is hardly grassroots. 70% of the tweets to pressure his advertisers to stop sponsoring his show are only from 10 Twitter accounts

Limbaugh and his team discovered that the “Stop Rush” campaign employs automated tweeting software to make themselves appear much bigger than they are. Limbaugh claims this is in violation of Twitter’s own rules.

Limbaugh went on to name names of the specific people he claims are responsible for the harassment of his advertisers.

“ These activists have long operated in secret and anonymously. But now, The Rush Limbaugh Show has the results of an investigation that names the people tweeting, facebooking, and emailing small businesses with harassing and bullying messages over and over until they surrender,” Limbaugh revealed.

Among those agitators, according to Rush’s investigation, is Kent State University tenured professor Nancy Padak, who uses her official email account to “badger advertisers.”

Below are the top members of the “Stop Rush” Conspiracy, according to The Rush Limbaugh Show’s investigation:

Despite Stellar Sales, New York Times Keeps Ted Cruz’s New Book Off Bestseller List — Here’s the Excuse Given

    July 9, 2015

One title that will be noticeably absent from The New York Times’ upcoming bestsellers list is Senator Ted Cruz’s new book, “A Time for Truth.”

The New York Times confirmed to the book’s publisher, HarperCollins, that they are excluding Cruz’s book from the bestsellers list, despite stellar sales numbers, Politico’s Dylan Byers first reported. Cruz’s new book sold 11,854 copies in its first week, more than “all but two of the Times’ bestselling titles,” according to the report.

By Byers’ estimation, the strong sales would land Cruz the No. 3 spot.

In response to an inquiry about the omission from HarperCollins, The New York Times claimed “A Time for Truth” didn’t meet the “standard” for the list this week. The Times also argued they take more into account than just book sales.

More from Politico’s On Media blog:

“We have uniform standards that we apply to our best seller list, which includes an analysis of book sales that goes beyond simply the number of books sold,” Times spokesperson Eileen Murphy explained when asked about the omission. “This book didn’t meet that standard this week.”

Asked to specify those standards, Murphy replied: “Our goal is that the list reflect authentic best sellers, so we look at and analyze not just numbers, but patterns of sales for every book.”

Both HarperCollins and the Cruz campaign declined to comment on the matter.

The response on Twitter was brutal towards the Times:

See, they don't consider sales to subhumans as authentic because rethuglicans are simply behaving like sheep and buying what they are told.

HarperCollins Hits Back at NYT: ‘No Evidence’ of Bulk Sales of Cruz Book

    July 10, 2015

HarperCollins, the publisher of Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz‘s newest book, hit back at The New York Times for leaving the book off of their bestsellers list over bulk purchases the publisher says never happened.

Politico’s Dylan Byers broke the news Thursday that the Times intentionally keeping “A Time for Truth” off their bestsellers list. Eventually, the Times claimed that “the overwhelming preponderance of evidence was that sales were limited to strategic bulk purchases.”

“HarperCollins Publishers has investigated the sales pattern for Ted Cruz’s book A TIME FOR TRUTH and has found no evidence of bulk orders or sales through any retailer or organization” the publisher said in a statement. They note that The Wall Street Journal, Barnes and Noble, and Nielsen all listed Cruz’s book as a bestseller, and all three organizations omit bulk sales.

The candidate himself has yet to comment on the allegations, although his communications staff reached out to Mediaite on Twitter saying, “Cruz did nothing to inflate book numbers.”

Amazon: 'No Evidence' Of Bulk Sales For Cruz Book

    July 13, 2015

The New York Times' refusal to put Ted Cruz's memoir on its best-seller list is once again being called into question — this time by Amazon, the largest Internet retailer in the country.

On Sunday, an Amazon spokesperson told the On Media blog that the company's sales data showed no evidence of unusual bulk purchase activity for the Texas senator's memoir, casting further doubt on the Times' claim that the book — "A Time for Truth" — had been omitted from its list because sales had been driven by "strategic bulk purchases."

"As of yesterday, 'A Time for Truth' was the number 13 best-selling book, and there is no evidence of unusual bulk purchase activity in our sales data," Sarah Gelman, Amazon's director of press relations, said in an email.

Amazon's findings match those of HarperCollins, the book's publisher, which said Friday that it had "investigated the sales pattern" for Cruz’s book and found "no evidence of bulk orders or sales through any retailer or organization." Moments after that announcement, Cruz's campaign issued a press release accusing the Times of lying and calling on the paper to provide evidence of bulk purchasing or else formally apologize.

“The Times is presumably embarrassed by having their obvious partisan bias called out. But their response — alleging ‘strategic bulk purchases’ — is a blatant falsehood,” Cruz campaign spokesperson Rick Tyler said in a statement Friday. “The evidence is directly to the contrary. In leveling this false charge, the Times has tried to impugn the integrity of Senator Cruz and of his publisher HarperCollins.”

“A Time for Truth," which was published on June 30, sold 11,854 copies in its first week -- more than 18 of the 20 titles on the Times best-seller list for the week ending July 4, according to Nielsen Bookscan. On raw numbers, Cruz's book would have finished at No. 3 on the Times' influential list of hardcover nonfiction. However, the Times informed HarperCollins last week that Cruz's book would not be on the list.

In an email last week, Times spokesperson Eileen Murphy said "A Time for Truth" did not meet the paper's "uniform standards," which include "an analysis of book sales that goes beyond simply the number of books sold." In the case of Cruz's book, she said, "the overwhelming preponderance of evidence was that sales were limited to strategic bulk purchases."

As HarperCollins has noted, Cruz's book “ranked high on other publishing industry bestseller lists including Nielsen Bookscan (#4) … The Wall Street Journal (#4) and Barnes and Noble (#7),” all of which “omit bulk orders books from their rankings.”

The fracas between Cruz and the Times has been a boon to the Texas senator's presidential campaign, sparking outrage and sympathy from conservatives who suspect liberal bias from the Times and the mainstream media.

“It’s been a good week and a half with wall-to-wall coverage of the book, and yes, this latest unfortunate news courtesy of the New York Times is a chance to get yet more attention and drive readers to Senator Cruz’s book,” Keith Urbahn, the book's literary agent, said last week. “This controversy is already helping sales.”

New York Times Caves, Ted Cruz Book To Appear At #7 On Bestseller List

    July 15, 2015

    Today:

Five days after accusing The New York Times of bias, secrecy and foul play, Ted Cruz is finally getting what he wanted: a highly coveted spot on the paper’s bestseller list.

Cruz’s memoir, “A Time For Truth,” will appear at No. 7 on the Times’ list for hardcover nonfiction, reflecting its second-week sales, a Times spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday. The Texas senator’s book had not been included on the list for its first week, on the grounds that its sales had been driven by “strategic bulk purchases.”

Times spokesperson Eileen Murphy said that the newspaper made no changes to its selection process, and so the fact that Cruz’s book is being included now suggests a rise in individual purchases, spurred by his public battle with the paper.

“This week’s NYT best seller list was arrived at using the same process as last week’s – and the week before that,” Murphy wrote. “That process involves a careful analysis of data, and is not influenced in any way by the content of a book, or by pressure from publishers or book sellers.”

    Murphy reiterated the company line:

“Our approach serves Times readers by authenticating broadly popular books through the confidential reporting of a wide range of retailers,” Murphy said Wednesday. “In order to avoid compromising that process, we do not disclose who reports sales to us.”

No response yet from the Cruz camp, however, Ted Cruz is scheduled to be on Megyn Kelly’s show tonight to discuss this turnaround, among other things.

Still not the #3 slot it should be in.

DOJ Document Dump to ACLJ on Clinton Lynch Meeting: Comey FBI Lied, Media Collusion, Spin, and Illegality

    August 4, 2017

We have just obtained hundreds of pages in our ongoing investigation and federal lawsuit on former Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s tarmac meeting with former President Bill Clinton while the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI had an ongoing criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails. The results are shocking.

First, the Comey FBI lied to us. Last July, we sent FOIA requests to both the Comey FBI and the Lynch DOJ asking for any documents related to the Clinton Lynch plane meeting. The FBI, under the then directorship of James Comey, replied that “No records responsive to your request were located.”

The documents we received today from the Department of Justice include several emails from the FBI to DOJ officials concerning the meeting. One with the subject line “FLAG” was correspondence between FBI officials (Richard Quinn, FBI Media/Investigative Publicity, and Michael Kortan) and DOJ officials concerning “flag[ing] a story . . . about a casual, unscheduled meeting between former president Bill Clinton and the AG.” The DOJ official instructs the FBI to “let me know if you get any questions about this” and provides “[o]ur talkers [DOJ talking points] on this”. The talking points, however are redacted.

Another email to the FBI contains the subject line “security details coordinate between Loretta Lynch/Bill Clinton?”

On July 1, 2016 – just days before our FOIA request – a DOJ email chain under the subject line, “FBI just called,” indicates that the “FBI . . . is looking for guidance” in responding to media inquiries about news reports that the FBI had prevented the press from taking pictures of the Clinton Lynch meeting. The discussion then went off email to several phone calls (of which we are not able to obtain records). An hour later, Carolyn Pokomy of the Office of the Attorney General stated, “I will let Rybicki know.” Jim Rybicki was the Chief of Staff and Senior Counselor to FBI Director Jim Comey. The information that was to be provided to Rybicki is redacted.

Also of note several of the documents contain redactions that are requested “per FBI.”

It is clear that there were multiple records within the FBI responsive to our request and that discussions regarding the surreptitious meeting between then AG Lynch and the husband of the subject of an ongoing FBI criminal investigation reached the highest levels of the FBI.

However, on October 21, 2016, the Comey FBI replied to our legal demands that “No records responsive to your request were located.” This is in direct contravention to the law, and we are preparing further legal action to force the FBI to come clean and turn over ALL documents related to this matter to us in a timely manner.

Second, the hundreds of pages of (heavily redacted – more on that below) documents paint a clear picture of a DOJ in crisis mode as the news broke of Attorney General Lynch’s meeting with former President Clinton. In fact, the records appear to indicate that the Attorney General’s spin team immediately began preparing talking points for the Attorney General regarding the meeting BEFORE ever speaking with the AG about the matter.

Third, there is clear evidence that the main stream media was colluding with the DOJ to bury the story. A Washington Post reporter, speaking of the Clinton Lynch meeting story, said, “I’m hoping I can put it to rest .” The same Washington Post reporter, interacting with the DOJ spin team, implemented specific DOJ requests to change his story to make the Attorney General appear in a more favorable light. A New York Times reporter apologetically told the Obama DOJ that he was being “pressed into service” to have to cover the story. As the story was breaking, DOJ press officials stated, “I also talked to the ABC producer, who noted that they aren’t interested, even if Fox runs with it.”

Two days after the meeting, DOJ officials in a chain of emails that includes emails to Attorney General Lynch herself stated that the media coverage of the meeting “looks like all or most are FOX” and that “CBS . . . just says a few lines about the meeting.”

Fourth, DOJ bureaucrats have redacted all the talking points, discussions of talking points, a statement on the meeting that was apparently never delivered because there was not enough media coverage on the meeting, and its substantive discussions with the FBI on the matter. They absurdly claim the “deliberative process exemption” to FOIA, which is only supposed to apply to agency rulemaking processes.

Discussions about Attorney General Lynch’s ethically questionable meeting with former President Clinton during her investigation into Hillary Clinton clearly has nothing to do with any rule making process. We will be taking these redactions back to federal court. The law is on our side. We will keep pressing on with our investigation of former Attorney General Lynch until we get to the bottom of this.

We will also keep you informed as our litigation continues.
