"already" is a relative term isn't it?

Here in CO if it snows, the stupidity comes draining out onto the roads. Every 5th person is probably from Michigan, Colorado, or some place north of here like Canada. The rest... stupid. lol

All the "wet flakes" apparently come from California!

It dropped to about 1/3-1/4 mile before I got home.

    Still coming down quite steady.

All said and done, looks like we got about 6"-7" total.

Hard to say exactly as once the cold air dropped in the snow got powdery and has drifted quite a bit.

An hour east and a little south, they got about double that. Our airport which is about 40 minutes west got about half of what I got.

They predicted a very sharp cutoff with the snow on this and it was definitely the case.

We had more last night, so it's coming your way. It wasn't significant though, maybe 2" total, a fluffy-powder stuff that blew off the windows when I drove this morning.

However, we have frigid cold. I hate cold.

people stuck on the roads...dummies who don't prepare. It's a dress rehearsal for shtf and they failed.

Did you see the line of cars? Someone said the line was 15 miles long, and they've been stuck there in the cold since 7:30 PM local time last night on the freeway.

For YEARS I've been talking to people about this sort of thing. Have a go-bag, have a blanket, have extra coats. My 16 yo granddaughter has been FIGHTING me tooth and nail on taking her damned coat with her. A week ago she left for school (with a ride) and it was "nice out". Didn't take it. Called for a ride (after a convoluted "I might go to my friend's house on the bus with her, or not" conversation... so we didn't know wtf was up.

Temps dropped, son was on the way to the gym, I was on a 20 foot ladder clearing a gutter, and she wanted us to drop what we were doing and rush there to get her out of the cold.

We let her stew in the cold for 40 minutes before my son headed over to get her.

She STILL hasn't gotten the lesson. "The coat is too heavy, there's no room in my locker, I can't fit it my back pack, I don't want to wear it when it's warm".... blahblahfuckingblah. The sun goes down here behind the mountains and the temperatures drop 20 or more degrees every night.....

She's a prime example of why there won't be ANY young people left after SHTF. They've had everything handed to them, they EXPECT a ride, the EXPECT food...

We hit 50 today and all of that snow is going somewhere. There's still quite a bit left on the ground too.

The Ohio quite a bit higher than usual. That's a floating restaurant down in town.

We're also supposed to get rain on Tuesday and Friday.

My friend is ok. I got in touch with him last night as soon as I heard. Neighbors were hit I think he said (some down the street from him). Don't know their status

Good to hear! That looked like a nasty twister on the radar shots I saw, very well defined.

Just for memory, my friend (His name is Warren) served with me in the 3rd Combat Comm Group for many years and he has lived in Moore for a good portion of his life.

He's "survived" about four close misses now. The last one, a year or so ago, he was directly responsible for the warning given to a bunch of people, and he personally led them into the vault at the Tinker Federal Credit union and closed the door to save the people.

I think I remember you posting about that last one.

Moore certainly seems to be a twister magnet!

I personally think it's my friend. he and I were on a field deployment in Oklahoma one year when out Tactical Air Base (TAB site) was hit by a twister.

We lost several tents and took some physical damage to some of the equipment, and a few folks got blown about a bit but other than some bruises, no one was seriously injured.

His house was missed by six houses in the (I think it was 2001? or so) big tornado that took out hundreds of houses a few years back.

He was driving on the way home in the one a couple of years back and saw it in time to stop and warn people. Otherwise, there would have been some dead people.
