From what I've seen the models have trended colder over the last couple days.

There was originally talk of there being some significant rain mixing in with highs near the mid 40s but now it is looking like this is going to be a mostly snow event with temps barely creeping above freezing resulting in some freezing rain/sleet near the end.

I had a gut feeling with all of the cold before and after it was just too unlikely we were going to get torched the way it was being said we were going to.

    0z NAM total storm:

Regardless of what and how much is going to be falling, I'm thinking it's a good thing I made a liquor run earlier today!

I was thinking that when I leave work today, I'll stop by the liquor store as well. lol

Have some minor stuff to do in the kitchen and then probably done with that (I removed the under-cabinet floors last night and replaced and painted them.

I have one closet door in the master bedroom to rehang. And I have a gutter that appears to be in distress for some reason, so while it is warm tonight I'll climb up and take a look.

Then... I'll make sure we have enough wood for the fire place.

And I'm considering staying home monday. lol

I'm very happy that the cold won. I wasn't looking forward to rain. We have a significant snow pack here and there's no where for it to go as the storm drains all have 18 inches of glacier on them.

    Snow however...well, that's a horse of a different color.

I'm going to mount the GoPro on the hood for this plowing event...see if it's a postable video

How do you remove the snow from your driveway? We know it's not with a snow blower.

    Spoons?

    Broom.

As I have stated, quite clearly over and over, the snow here is, in general a fine powder.

Clearing the drive way is a simple matter of sweeping the dust off.

Except when it's windy. And then it blows back on the driveway from someone else's driveway.

    So I usually don't bother.

It will either sublimate in less than 24 hours or melt if the temps increase to 32 or higher. lol

Now, in the case of this "Snomageddon" coming.... I will just back the truck in and out of the driveway a few times and pack it down (if it is not a fine dust, in which case, I won't worry about it!)

    hahahahaha

Without a context, what does that mean?

Well, I don't know. I didn't get context either. Just a statement that said, "80% of the Great Lakes are frozen".

So I was thinking... there's five Great Lakes, Michigan, Superior, Huron, Erie and Ontario. Therefore, 80% would be either four of the lakes... or 80% of the water surface of all five of them. But, that doesn't seem to include rivers and tributaries. It doesn't include ponds and smaller lakes that empty into them.

And for Ryan, that doesn't include men without balls walking around in Michigan (like over in Dearbornistan for example).

Since it's all fresh water and the Lakes are deep, they must be discussing only surface area, cuz the fish would all die if they were frozen through and through......

I was mostly leaving the interpretation open for y'all to figure out...

You know, that begs the question, why would a people so used to hot climate voluntarily move to such a colder place?

I would think a place, say, like California would be that much more inviting for them. (hint, hint!)

California is a good place for them. Warm. Liberal, welcoming climate.

    Please, they should go.

80% of the great lakes being frozen is a truly meaningless statement. I think I'll assume it's supposed to be 99% frozen by now. It must be warm as Vulcan's forge over there, global warming has doomed us.

Most people today would say, "Vulcan? Isn't that a planet from Star Trek?" and wouldn't get your reference anyway.
