Wow, we're really getting blasted with some warm air.
Nearly midnight and it is 62 out!

Nah... Your system is a plains system and is going far north of me. We're going to get some rain and storms through tonight from the GoM.
There's talk of something next week but those 2 possibilities look like misses as well.
As Winter gets closer to wrapping up, I'm losing more hope of us getting any decent sort of storm this year.
At least the days are starting to get noticeably longer now...
I don't like snow. Or cold. Or clothes. Or shoes....

Ah, so you're a nature boy. Flapping free and all that?

Not really. I just hate having to put on 20 layers to stay warm. lol
And I seriously have gotten used to not wearing shoes most of the time. I have to wear them in the yard where the boat is because it's gravel and a working yard, but most of the time in the islands before I never wore much more than boat shoes or flipflops.

I think God is conspiring against me to keep me from working on my new truck.
It is ridiculously cold around here and is supposed to be almost every day this week that isn't raining.
Hell, the Opening Day game between Cleveland and Boston in Cleveland was cancelled because of snow and that it felt like 18 degrees outside!
Hopefully it will be warmer next week when I've got the week off.
You and me both.
I started the process of fixing the brakes on my Truck a few weeks ago. I'm replacing most of the brake lines, all the rubber brake lines, Pads, Rotors and Calipers on all 4 tires. I've got the lines mostly done and the driver rear wheel done.
Everything is rusted to shit so it's a SLOW go. I wasn't able to work on the truck over the Easter weekend and I got 4 hours in on Saturday. Now it's colder than a witch's tit in a brass bra.
I need a good solid warm weekend to get all this bullshit done.

PB Blaster, brother. And mechanic's gloves.
Although, the cold is a recipe for broken bolts.

How old is your truck? I've got the same plan with the 2000 F250.
Mine is a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500.
I knew I was going to have to do the rear brakes as they were rusted solid, but a few weeks ago, I was cleaning up the yard and the pedal went to the floor. If you listened quietly, you could hear the squish sound of the brake fluid pumping out somewhere above the gas tank.
I've got the new line run but I've still got to get a couple of questionable brake line fittings free. The lines were rubber coated, but the fittings are a mess so I bought a bunch of everything.
The damn truck has 3/16" line 10mm inverted flare, 3/16" line 10mm bubble flare, 1/4" 12mm bubble fllare and 3/16 line, 3/16 inverted flare fittings. It's maddening.

Truer words were never spoken! LOL!
Normally I can deal with the occasional skinned knuckle wrenching. This new truck I've got is another story though.
This CARC paint the truck is painted with is like friggin' sandpaper. I skinned almost every knuckle before I gave in and admitted I'd need gloves working on it.
Been using plenty of the PB Blaster too. That's been my go-to penetrant for a while. One thing I've been meaning to try that I've heard works amazingly well is a 50/50 acetone/ATF mix. Might be worth giving a shot if your rust is really bad Mal.
I have a set of IronClad Heavy Utility abrasion resistant gloves that I bought for handling firewood but I found out I prefer pigskin instead. Maybe I'll get those all gunked up.
For what it's worth, Pig Skin gloves are tougher than Cow hide but they cost 5 times more. I'm not entirely convinced it isn't just better to blow through cheapo leather palm gloves that you buy at your hardware store. If you handle as much firewood as I do, you go through 2-3 pairs of gloves a year or one pair of pig skins. The pig skin gloves don't stiffen if they get wet.

Shaping up to be quite an active weather day.
I ended up driving home in one of the biggest hail storms I can remember in a while, not in terms of hailstone size but in area affected.
Must have been driving in hail of varying intensity for at least 15 minutes.
Was honestly surprised to see no damage on the work van since a bit of it was definitely dime sized.
It is bloody hell cold here. It's in the 50s and damp and wet here in Norfolk. The winds have topped out around 22kts on and off (watching the weather gear that actually works now) and I hiked up the head a bit ago and froze my ass off. I'm in jeans with long sleeved shirt and a hoodie jacket, with a propane heater going in the cabin.
The wife is holed up in the aft cabin under the blankets now asking for a hot cup of coffee or tea every so often, lol.
We've no fresh meat aboard, just canned stuff, and I considered heading out to get food, but no.... I've got rum, whiskey and beer. I don't need much else, but I'm not going to get ANYTHING accomplished today.
The cold front should be out of here by Saturday. It rained a lot the last couple of days here too. Was nasty for hours.
Days like this I wish I were sitting in a nice stone house someplace with a huge fireplace. Instead, I've got my HeaterBuddy, lol

It's the middle of May and I just had to run the furnace this morning!
High today is supposed to be 53 and we're pretty nearly there.
Frost advisory tonight.
Highs of mid 50s to low 60s through Tuesday.
Apparently NE Ohio had snow Sunday morning.
Supposed to finally warm up and dry out by Wednesday though which is good since I'd like to get to spraying the Lizard Skin inside my truck!
I do hope this portends a nice, mild Summer though.
It was 35 when I got into the car this morning. This cold shit needs to go. Who do I ring up about getting some more sunspots?
