LOL Ryan. I get it, it's funny because for once it's not your team... lol

Well considering that before Chuck Noll; The Steelers were not known as a particularly good team and there was that stint in the 80's where they really kind of stank... I'd say overall, the team panned out fairly well. I don't mind having a bad season now and again while building considering I believe they have their main policies in order that have allowed for 6 Rings over the last 40 years.

Too many of the teams today have this mentality of firing coaches every season or two, so when I see the Bengals keep on with Marvin Lewis and they start to reap the rewards of that loyalty I don't feel bad about my team's losing season at all. After all it validates the Steelers way of doing things. Players and Coaches will always perform better if they believe they'll be given a fair time frame in which to exhibit their skills.

Agree and disagree with you on the Bengals keeping Lewis.

First, keep in mind I don't follow the details of football as nearly closely as you, so I may be off base in my assessment. I agree that stability in a team does wonders to build a solid foundation. That said, I think the Bengals kept Lewis well past when they should have. I think he should have been let go after the stinkfests that were the '07 and '08 seasons. Up until '08 he'd only had one winning season out of six.

Overall he's been a fairly mediocre coach and has been given many seasons and a lot of talented players to accomplish more than what amounts to a 50/50 record. The success the Bengals have enjoyed recently has only come after heavy public pressure (there was a concerted campaign a couple seasons back by season ticket holders) to revamp the offensive and defensive coaching staff. Once they did that and combined with the talent the team has had, they've managed to make Lewis look better than I think he is.

He always manages to do just well enough to justify not being fired.

    Wow! What a game opener!

A solid drive hitting on all cylinders for a TD and then, a turnover by GB on the kick return inside of the 5 for another TD.

Hope the Bengals don't get complacent like they tend to and keep this up the whole game.

30 unanswered points. This has gone 180 degrees and is turning into a real debacle.

I'm just going to go put my Officials Bengals Fan Headwear on.

there are some football players that really, really, REALLY ought to shut up.

‘Epitome of Ignorance’: NFL player on why football players paid more than soldiers; Tweeters flag for offsides

    @dloesch @ChrisLoesch @ali @twitchyteam @michellemalkin can you believe this? @STLouisRams tackle bashes soldiers. http://t.co/eVQ4zWbHVN

    Daniel Bostic (@debostic) September 23, 2013
Ty Nsekhe was on the St. Louis Rams practice squad as an offensive lineman, but was injured and put on waivers a few weeks ago. Nsekhe had this Twitter exchange today:
“Hard to believe that a player in a helmet defendin' a football makes more money than a soldier in a helmet defendin' his country.”—
    Morgan Reed (@_Morganism_) September 23, 2013
@_Morganism_ @debostic it doesn't take much skill to kill someone—
    T.Y. Nsekhe (@TY_Nsekhe) September 23, 2013
    Seriously?
Nsekhe was taken to task for obvious reasons:
The epitome of ignorance ——> “@TY_Nsekhe: @_Morganism_ @debostic it doesn't take much skill to kill someone”—
    Daniel Bostic (@debostic) September 23, 2013
@debostic you must be in the military huh—
    T.Y. Nsekhe (@TY_Nsekhe) September 23, 2013
Military and non-military alike weren’t thrilled with the comment:
    @debostic @ChrisLoesch @DLoesch @ali @TwitchyTeam @michellemalkin @STLouisRams Douche! How about show some F'ing respect for our soldiers!—
    The Boss (@JpHaar) September 23, 2013
@ChrisLoesch @TY_Nsekhe @debostic Pro Tip for Ty, don't piss off a bunch of patriots. Not a great way to build your fan base.—
    Desert Dan (@desertdan1) September 23, 2013
@TY_Nsekhe @debostic you honestly think ,your football skills R superior, 2soldiers skills to protect your freedom 2actually play the game?—
    susan pal (@ohsuszanna) September 23, 2013
@debostic @TY_Nsekhe @_Morganism_ Ugh. Defending ones profession by trashing another isn't the best way to go. Athletes & twitter…bad mix.—
    EEÉ (D)anger (@EEElverhoy) September 23, 2013
    Speaking of “skill”:
@ChrisLoesch all those people sacrificed for @TY_Nsekhe to have that freedom and he's stuck on the practice squad—
    Jeff Quinton (@JeffQuinton) September 23, 2013
So apparently @TY_Nsekhe doesn't think it takes as much skill to be a soldier as it does to sit on the bench for the @STLouisRams..orly?—
    Josh Hill (@JHillVA) September 23, 2013
    Ouch.
@ChrisLoesch oh wait @TY_Nsekhe isn't even listed on the STL practice squad stlouisrams.com/team/roster.ht…
    Jeff Quinton (@JeffQuinton) September 23, 2013
And Nsekhe might never go anywhere if he continues to prove himself as a public relations time bomb.

What an idiot. I'll stand by a soldier any day. No NFL player was ever in a firefight. How he can even begin to believe that there is a comparison between what the two do, much less find soldiers lacking, is beyond me.

    It is called "Arrogance".

The whole thing was about the amount of money these dufuses make as football players vs military guys.

Man, talk about a crappy game yesterday...

Totally crap performance by the Bengals. With the showings the Bengals made in the first 3 games, the job they did yesterday was inexcusable but not unexpected. Classic Bengals, I think, going in overconfident against a team they think is going to be a pushover and it ends up biting them in the ass.

Sorry to see the Steelers in the shape they're in Brian, even as a Bengals fan. As I'm sure you can imagine I can sympathize.

Boy, after these last couple games, Andy Dalton is going to have to get his act together and get some consistency in his game. You can't go throwing as many INTs as he has and expect a successful season let alone post-season.

This game against the Browns started off pretty horrendously. Thankfully it turned around.

No snow and the wheels come off with the Bengals.

Jesus, what a horrible 2nd half for them. 20 unanswered points. Go into the locker room playing a hard hitting game and come out misfiring.

Should have known better than to get my hopes up for the team that always manages to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
