    Default American Blackout

National Geographic will be running a movie this Sunday (10/27) called American Blackout.

    Here's their summary:

American Blackout imagines the story of a national power failure in the United States caused by a cyberattack — told in real time, over 10 days, by those who kept filming on cameras and phones. You’ll learn what it means to be absolutely powerless. Gritty, visceral and totally immersive, see what it might take to survive from day one, and who would be left standing when the lights come back on.
Sounds a little like the premise of the movie Dragon Day Rick posted about.

And for the record, I'd like to say, I laugh at their 10 day time frame. I did 10 days after the remnants of Hurricane Ike blew through the Ohio Valley. Wasn't all that...

Most people in this country would collapse and eat their own toes inside of a week. Food would be gone in hours, not days.

Don't think I'd eat my toes either.

I DVR'd American Blackout and am watching it now. So far I'm about 40 minutes into it (3 days into the blackout) and I'm chucking at the sheep. I think NatGeo did a good job of showing them, which have made up most of the feature.

    Oh, and:

    for fun-zies!

ETA: Captain Zero is in it... I wish they would have used a fake prez. One with some believable semblance of leadership, perhaps.

By the way, it's shot handicam style so if those types of movies aren't for you, neither is this one.
