DHS registering millions of aliens as citizens to vote Democrat in 2016, source says

Proving that the Democratic Party’s immigration agenda is all about boosting voter demographics, a Department of Homeland Security source says the agency is using the federal government’s muscle to ensure Democratic victory at the ballot box.

A new program launched by Homeland Security’s Task Force on New Americans urges millions of legal immigrants in America to become citizens in time to vote in the 2016 election, Fox News reported.

“Almost all of them will vote Democrat, so you can see the motivation there,” “Fox and Friends Weekend” host Tucker Carlson said Saturday.

“What they’re doing is doing a full-court press on getting these aliens – 9 million of them – registered as citizens in time for the 2016 election,” Adams, PJ Media’s legal editor, said. “They are redirecting resources of DHS to this effort, this campaign.”

In an internal memo PJ Media obtained from Leon Rodriguez, the director and co-chair of the task force, agency officials “say it nakedly … that this is all about politics,” Adams said.

“This is a transformative campaign going on to fundamentally transform the country. And if you don’t talk about it, if you don’t confront it, you’re going to lose all the other issues you care about.”

Obama Allots $19 Million To Register Immigrant Voters

A year after President Obama launched his Task Force on New Americans the administration is injecting it with a $19 million infusion so it can achieve its key initiative of registering new voters that will likely support Democrats in the upcoming election. Officially, this is being described as enhancing pathways to naturalization by offering immigrants free citizenship instruction, English, U.S. history and civics courses. The cash is being distributed by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Homeland Security agency that oversees lawful immigration, and the obvious goal is to register more immigrant voters because they tend to be Democrat.
Otherwise a Democrat commander-in-chief and his open-borders Domestic Policy Director wouldn’t be operating such a costly project. Judicial Watch wrote about the new task force last April, reporting that its chair is none other than Cecilia Muñoz, the former vice president of the powerful open borders group National Council of La Raza (NCLR). Obama recruited Muñoz to be White House Director of Intergovernmental Affairs then promoted her to the more powerful and prestigious post of Domestic Policy Director. That gives her tremendous influence as the president’s top adviser on domestic issues as well as the White House official in charge of coordinating and supervising the execution of domestic policy. As head of the Task Force on New Americans Muñoz recruited like-minded leaders from various agencies—including the departments of Homeland Security, Justice, State, Education, Transportation and Health—to brainstorm about ways to empower immigrants.

Texas Voter ID Law Is Discriminatory, Federal Appeals Court Rules

A federal appeals court on Wednesday ruled that the Texas voter identification law restricted the voting rights of minorities, asking a lower court to make changes before the November election.

The conservative 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that law — which requires one of seven specific forms of photo ID before casting a ballot — violated Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, which prohibits voting procedures that discriminate on the basis of race, skin color or ethnicity.

However, it agreed with state that the law was not meant to be discriminatory.

The court asked a lower court to come up with a way to eliminate the discriminatory effect before the November elections.

The argument from Texas lawyers that the law is justified so long as some voters are able to meet the requirements “effectively nullifies the protections of the Voting Rights Act by giving states a free pass to enact needlessly burdensome laws with impermissible racially discriminatory impacts,” the opinion reads.

The state law, passed in 2011 with strong support from Republicans and opposition by Democrats, requires Texans to present an approved form of photo ID before casting a ballot. Acceptable documents include a Texas driver’s license, Texas-issued license to carry a handgun, U.S. military ID and U.S. passport.

In April, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected an emergency appeal to stop Texas from enforcing the law pending the current appeal. But the court said it could revisit the issue as the November elections approach.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and other Republican officials praised the Supreme Court’s order, saying the voter ID law is essential to combat fraud at the ballot box.

Voters and elected Democratic officials challenged the law, saying it improperly limits the voting rights of minority, lower-income and older Texans who are less likely to have approved forms of photo identification. Opponents also say the law is unnecessary because voter fraud is exceedingly rare.

The Texas secretary of state’s office estimated in 2011 that about 605,500 registered Texas voters might lack a state-issued license or ID.

Homeland eyes special declaration to take charge of elections

Even before the FBI identified new cyber attacks on two separate state election boards, the Department of Homeland Security began considering declaring the election a "critical infrastructure," giving it the same control over security it has over Wall Street and and the electric power grid.

The latest admissions of attacks could speed up that effort possibly including the upcoming presidential election, according to officials.

"We should carefully consider whether our election system, our election process, is critical infrastructure like the financial sector, like the power grid," Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson (MUSLOID COMMIE) said.

"There's a vital national interest in our election process, so I do think we need to consider whether it should be considered by my department and others critical infrastructure," he said at media conference earlier this month hosted by the Christian Science Monitor.

DHS has a vital security role in 16 areas of critical infrastructure and they provide a model for what the department and Johnson could have in mind for the election.

DHS describes it this way on their website: "There are 16 critical infrastructure sectors whose assets, systems, and networks, whether physical or virtual, are considered so vital to the United States that their incapacitation or destruction would have a debilitating effect on security, national economic security, national public health or safety, or any combination thereof."

A White House policy directive adds, "The federal government also has a responsibility to strengthen the security and resilience of its own critical infrastructure, for the continuity of national essential functions, and to organize itself to partner effectively with and add value to the security and resilience efforts of critical infrastructure owners and operators."

At the time, Johnson did not mention specific security issues, but the FBI has since cited one hack and another attempt.

Johnson also said that the big issue at hand is that there isn't a central election system since the states run elections. "There's no one federal election system. There are some 9,000 jurisdictions involved in the election process," Johnson said.

"There's a national election for president, there are some 9,000 jurisdictions that participate, contribute to collecting votes, tallying votes and reporting votes," he said.

Is that coincidence or is this a concentrated effort by the Obama administration to insert itself into the presidential election to ensure Hillary wins?


And they wonder where all these conspiracy theories come from?!


So, why do we need to be worried about this?


Because it will give Obama and his thugs jurisdictional control over local election systems and to dictate policy anywhere they see fit.


More concerning is this is flat out unconstitutional! Elections are clearly the responsibility of state and local government, NOT the federal government.


Yes, we need our elections to be more secure to ensure the integrity of the process, but that burden falls on local and state government, NOT the federal government.


This is nothing more than a guise by Barack H. Obama to extend the reach of the federal government and control the results of the upcoming election.

California governor signs bill allowing felons to vote from their jail cells

• California Governor Jerry Brown signed legislation Wednesday to allow felons awaiting release to vote from county jails in the state
• Measure intended to ease their transition back to society
• Opponents said felons could decide a close election, while backers say mass disenfranchisement must end

Convicted felons serving jail sentences in California county jails will now get to participate in an activity besides three meals a day and recreation time: votingin elections.

Governor Jerry Brown signed new legislation into effect as part of a reform backers say will help prisoners transition back into society while still serving time for their crimes.

The bill he signed would let thousands of felons doing time in county jails to vote in California elections, the LA Times reported.

The new law also reinstates eligibility to vote for those ex-prisoners on probation or being kept under community supervision starting next year.

The new law takes effect January 1, so will have no impact on this November's elections.

One state lawmaker, Sen. Patricia Bates, slammed the legislation. “It is very disappointing that felons still serving their sentences behind bars will now be able to vote since Governor Brown failed to veto this really bad bill,” she said in a statement.

But Daniel Zingale, senior vice president of The California Endowment health foundation, told the paper, 'Mass disenfranchisement for minor offenses is a tragic legacy of the Jim Crow era that disproportionately affects and diminishes the power of communities of color.'

California's action fits within a broader national push to expand voting rights for ex-felons, with laws getting determined state by state.

Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe has been battling with his state's legislature in the courts over his own effort to restore voting rights. In his latest action, he individually restored voting rights to 13,000 felons.

McAuliffe cited the power of 'second chances.' Republicans in the state have sought to block him. His earlier effort to restore voting to 200,000 felons could have had a significant effect on the elections in a state that is a presidential battleground this year.

California is already expected to be heavily in Hillary Clinton's column.

In Congress, Democrats have introduced legislation to restore voting rights in federal elections to criminals upon release from jail, while Kentucky Senator Rand Paul introduced legislation to restore voting rights to non-violent offenders.

'It would be transformative if everybody voted, President Obama told a Cleveland crowd last year.

Report: Up to 10 states have experienced election-related hacking

WASHINGTON, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- As many as 10 state election databases have been hacked, not only the two previously reported in Illinois and Arizona, according to a report by CBS News.

The hacks come as officials in the Justice Department and Homeland Security warn state and local officials of the threat posed by hackers seeking access to the nation's election database.

The CBS report did not identify exactly how many states have been hacked, nor which ones. But according to multiple anonymous national security officials, as many as 10 have experienced some sort of hack.

So far the two known data breaches affected voter registration information and not vote-tallying software. In Arizona, malware was found installed in voter registration data. In Illinois, thousands of voters' registration information was accessed, though most of it -- names, addresses and telephone numbers -- is public information accessible through a public records request.

FBI Director James Comey testified before Congress on Wednesday, saying his agency is investigating various hacking attempts by foreign actors attempting to meddle with the election. While Comey and other officials said a large-scale hack to influence the outcome of the November election is unlikely or impossible, the probability of further cyberattacks leading up to the election is high.

"There have been a variety of scanning activities, which is a preamble for potential intrusion activities, as well as some attempted intrusions at voter registration databases beyond those we knew about in July and August," Comey told the House Judiciary Committee. "There's no doubt that some bad actors have been poking around."

Comey was careful to note the difference in severity between scanning voter databases for individuals' personal information and hacks that affect actual election infrastructure.

So far, officials have not made public any evidence that voter registration information was altered or deleted – one way hackers could wreak havoc on the election without actually tampering with polling machines or vote-tallying software.

Hillary Campaign Already Committing MASSIVE Voter Fraud

Voter fraud is a topic that is continuously re-visited every election year, but it seems the allegations of crime may start producing actual arrests as massive state investigations into allegations of voter fraud are breaking out all over the nation.
The Democrats behind Hillary Clinton will do everything they can to keep Trump out, even if it means breaking the law. Rampant voter fraud is their tool of choice, when their candidate can’t win on her own merit.

A quick search on the internet results in story after story of fraud at the polls. It was only last week that we reported on one such case in Texas where the state’s Attorney General has opened the largest voter fraud investigation in Texas history.
Indiana recently saw the launch of an investigation that has so far spanned 9 counties. The investigation began in late August when police learned about the filing of fraudulent voter registration forms in Marion and Hendricks counties. State Police detectives served a search warrant for the business offices of the Indiana Voter Registration Project last Tuesday.
“An investigation of this nature is complex, time consuming and is expected to continue for several more weeks or months,” said a State Police statement. “Victims of the activities by some agents of the Indiana Voter Registration Project may not discover they have been disenfranchised from voting until they go to vote and realize their voting information has been altered. Such action may result in the citizen having to cast a provisional ballot.”


In Chicago, voters were bribed with gifts to vote for the Democratic state Rep. Kate Cloonen, presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, and “others”. The Kankakee County State’s Attorney’s Office said it opened the voter fraud investigation in response to allegations that “gifts” were given to voters in exchange for their vote.
In Oklahoma, the County District Attorney’s Office says that Ronald Henry, who ran for Luther City Board of Trustees, and his wife committed voter fraud in an April 2015 election. They were accused of falsely submitting at least nine absentee ballots for the 2015 Luther City Board election, of which Ronald was running for Luther City Board Trustee. They are both currently facing felony fraud charges.
Rampant voter fraud has also been alleged in Minnesota as a pending case is awaiting to be heard in the Supreme Court concerning Democrat voter registration practices.
“A new voter fraud case before the Minnesota Supreme Court claims 1,366 ineligible felons have cast at least 1,670 fraudulent votes in recent statewide elections, possibly tipping the outcome of close contests, including the 2008 U.S. Senate race.”
The Liberals won’t stop until our country is fundamentally changed to something that resembles Europe or California. They will use any method available to them, rather it be filing false rape allegations against Trump or illegally voting for dead people and people who abstain.

In testimony this week before Congress, former Justice Department Official J. Christian Adams revealed that not only were similar claims “pervasive”, but Obama activists committed the “same” crimes during the 2008 Democratic primary to help then Sen. Obama defeat Democratic heir apparent Hillary Clinton.

Obama gamed the system in 2008 by not only allowing an army of young men station themselves outside polling locations in African American communities to prevent elderly women and others from voting for their chosen candidate, Hillary Clinton, but he also trained thousands of willing accomplices—while I do not have confirmation, I do sense the presence of ACORN here—spread throughout the Democratic caucuses to commit voter fraud on a massive scale.

The movie “We Will Not Be Silenced”, made by Democratic Party activist Gigi Gaston, produced by Bettina Sofia Viviano, and executive produced by former Clinton Campaign Regional Director John Siegel, documents how the unknown Senator from Illinois used “falsified delegate counts, falsified documents, and other violations” to beat the seemingly unbeatable Clinton machine and claim the Democratic nomination.

The documentary describes “the disenfranchising of American citizens by the Democratic Party and the Obama Campaign… ‘Change’ from Chicago encouraged and created an army to steal caucus packets, falsify documents, change results, allow unregistered people to vote, scare and intimidate Hillary supporters, stalk them, threaten them, lock them out of their polling places, silence their voices and stop their right to vote.”

“Teachers, professors, civil rights activists, lawyers, janitors, physicists, ophthalmologists, accountants, mathematicians, retirees… discuss how their party has disenfranchised them, and how, when they saw and reported multiple instances of fraud, everyone turned a blind eye. Rather than support and protect the voices and votes of its loyal members, the DNC chose to sweep this under the rug by looking the other way.”

During the election the Hillary campaign issued multiple press releases in an attempt to publicize these events and bring them to the voter’s attention, but to no avail. The main stream media, like the Democrat Party leadership, had already chosen their candidate.

They willfully ignored the worst election abuses in a generation and allowed an immoral and unworthy man take control of this great nation.

Part 1, 3:35, “Obama supporters were going back through the crowd, telling the people that were on the other side of the table and people outside (Hillary supporters), that they could go home, that they had been counted. I turned and said ‘Don’t they need to sign a sheet first?’ And of course, that is how they are counted. A lot of those people who went home (without signing), English was not their first language.”

So when so many people were registered illegally for Obama, they attained the lion’s portion of the delegates.”

Part 2, 5:35, John Siegel: “Hillary won the popular vote by about 4%, but ended up losing the caucuses by 10%. So there is this huge 14 point swing between what Hillary should have won in a normal state and what she got at the end of the caucuses in Texas.”

Part 2, 6:20, “The worst thing that we saw in Indiana, was parents coming into the office saying that the Gary Indiana Public School System had bussed their children to Crown Point Indiana to vote in the election. That was a great civics lesson, but if children were being told to go to the polls and vote for Obama, which they were, parents were livid. They were outraged and they wanted to know what could be done about this… It was atrocious, because what lesson in civics were kids learning that day? Win by any means necessary? The right to vote is a sacred right in America, and we take school children and bus them on a school day, tell them who to vote for, then pay them for their lunch, and then dismiss them from school early on taxpayer money?”

Part 3, 0:00, “By about twelve o’clock, one o’clock on election day, all hell broke loose. We started getting phone calls from people at various precincts where there were Obama supporters getting sign-ins before the polls had even closed. We had people who were being shouted down and intimidated when they were for Hillary Clinton.”

Part 3, 3:54, Civil Rights Activist who had marched with Martin Luther King: “I had come to Indiana in the early afternoon about one o’clock. I was just sort of riding through the communities to get a feel for what was going on… There were some guys who had put up lawn chairs in front of the door going into the community center, so I stopped and parked my car. I got out of my car and there was this lady, probably about 80 years old, who was slowly walking up the street. As she was approaching the entranceway to go into the building, one of the young men called to her ‘If you’re not voting for Obama, go home, because you’re not voting here today.’ She turned and walked away. The pain that I felt, because of the people who have fought for African Americans to have the right to vote, this fight that has gone on for many, many, many years and to see two African American young men deny the right, under the veiled threat of violence, to a woman who looked to be around 80 years old, and not allow her an opportunity to vote. I felt appalled. While I was standing there, there were other people approaching, maybe four or five, and when they heard that they all turned and walked away.”

Part 3, 7:20, Kevin Dujan, Iowa: “There were these two women sitting at the table checking in people, looking over names. I went standing behind the two elderly women that we had brought to the caucus location and they mysteriously could not find their names in the book. The two women saw that these women had Hillary stickers on them… so they weren’t going to let them caucus. They said ‘Oh, you must be in some other caucus.’ I said ‘Look lady, I’m from Chicago and I know tricks like this. Let me see that book or we’re going to get the precinct captain over here and we’re going to look and find the names together. I guarantee this woman’s in here, because she’s not a liar. She’s ninety years old and has been looking forward to this. Don’t tell me she’s not in the book.’ Well then, wouldn’t you know it, miraculously and mysteriously, once I made that big of a push, she magically found her name in the book and let her go be a part of the caucus… I noticed that that was not happening for any of the Obama people, they were just getting waved right through.”

Part 4, 5:45, “I thought it was an isolated incident, just in my precinct. It’s not, and that what bothers me. How can we not look at the system? If it happens in every precinct and every one of us has a very similar story, I can not believe that we don’t see it as manipulating a situation. People told me, Obama supporters who went to the training, that they have been trained to be aggressive.”

Part 4, 6:20, “They knew from the beginning all the problems with all the security holes in the caucus. They knew they filtered out people. They knew the low turn out rates. They must have known from other elections how many votes from caucus states are not exact votes, but just an estimate projected from news organizations.”

Here’s filmmaker Gigi Gaston on Fox & Friends this morning, calling for an investigation into the fraud and voter intimidation Obama and his campaign engaged in back in 2008.

This is how Obama took the nomination from Hillary Clinton, and he used these same thug tactics in the general election to intimidate voters. He will be using the same playbook in 2012 as well, unless he and the DNC are stopped.

In this FOX clip, it’s noted that Gaston is the granddaughter of a former Democrat governor…and she’s now dedicated her life to exposing the DNC for the cesspool of corruption, fraud, and illegal activity that it is. That is the same boat all of us here are in as well: until 2008, we were all lifelong, unquestioning, party loyal Democrats who never in our lives dreamed our party would be responsible for thuggery like this.

The best way we can describe the feeling we have when we think about the DNC is to remember what the human characters on the TV show “V” felt like when they saw the masks ripped off the “Visitors”, revealing them to be lizard people underneath. Even people who had been helping the Visitors, and trying to convince others that they were really here to “serve the human race” in the non-cook book sense were instantly transformed into Resistance fighters when they saw what really lurked behind those masks.

So it is for many lifelong Democrats out there, including such prominent names as Lynn Forester de Rothschild as well, who will never look at the DNC the same way again…not after its mask has been ripped off so spectacularly.

We need to find as many creative and engaging ways as possible to get conservatives and independents out there, who did not pay attention to the Democrat primaries in 2008, to know the story Gigi Gaston has told so well in We Will Not Be Silenced 2008.

It’s the only way to stop the lizards at the DNC from doing all of this again in 2012.

Every day counts, because when the next presidential election rolls around, time will be precious and we refuse to be in a position where we’re wishing we had these two years to get back.

Soros-Connected Company Provides Voting Machines In 16 States

Smartmatic, a U.K.-based voting technology company with deep ties to George Soros, has control over voting machines in 16 states including battleground zones like Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Other jurisdictions affected are California, District of Columbia, Illinois, Louisiana, Missouri, New Jersey, Oregon, Washington and Wisconsin.

Its website includes a flow-chart that describes how the company has contributed to elections in the U.S. from 2006-2015 with “57,000 voting and counting machines deployed” and “35 million voters assisted.”

In 2005, Smartmatic bought-out California-based Sequoia Voting Systems and entered the world of U.S. elections.

According to Smarmatic’s website, “In less than one year Smartmatic tripled Sequoia’s market share” and “has offered technology and support services to the Electoral Commissions of 307 counties in 16 States.”

Among the “case studies” that Smartmatic lists on its website as examples of its work are Venezuela, where it has been facilitating elections since 2004 when it “won a bid to provide Venezuela with a reliable voting system.”

It also lists Cook County, Illinois as another success story, when in “in 2006, Smartmatic signed what at the moment was the largest election automation contract in US history.” Cook County includes Chicago and its suburbs, a geographic zone that has historically and lately been subject to criticism for voter fraud.

The chairman of Smartmatic is Lord Mark Malloch-Brown, who sits in the British House of Lords and on the board of George Soros’s Open Society Foundations. He was formerly the vice-chairman of Soros’s Investment Funds and even the deputy secretary-general of the United Nations when he worked as chief of staff to Kofi Annan.

Malloch-Brown’s resume includes stints as vice-president of the UN World Bank and in British Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s cabinet.

In addition to a close relationship with Soros, Malloch-Brown has worked with consulting firms that are well-connected to Bill and Hillary Clinton. He was an international partner with the Sawyer-Miller consulting firm and was a senior adviser to FTI Consulting.

One of Sawyer-Miller’s alumni is Mandy Grunwald, who ran the firm’s communication contract for Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential run. She was also the head of communications for Hillary Clinton’s unsuccessful 2008 presidential bid.

Jackson Dunn, who is a senior managing director with FTI Consulting, spent 15 years in Washington where he worked as an aide to President Bill Clinton and Sen. Hilllary Clinton.

Smartmatic has already encountered controversy in the ongoing presidential contest. It ran the online balloting for the Utah Republican caucus last March, when many critics said it was impossible to secure personal electronic devices that are used to register and vote.

How to Hack an Election in 7 Minutes




When Princeton professor Andrew Appel decided to hack into a voting machine, he didn’t try to mimic the Russian attackers who hacked into the Democratic National Committee's database last month. He didn’t write malicious code, or linger near a polling place where the machines can go unguarded for days.
Instead, he bought one online.


With a few cursory clicks of a mouse, Appel parted with $82 and became the owner of an ungainly metallic giant called the Sequoia AVC Advantage, one of the oldest and vulnerable, electronic voting machines in the United States (among other places it’s deployed in Louisiana, New Jersey, Virginia and Pennsylvania). No sooner did a team of bewildered deliverymen roll the 250-pound device into a conference room near Appel’s cramped, third-floor office than the professor set to work. He summoned a graduate student named Alex Halderman, who could pick the machine’s lock in seven seconds. Clutching a screwdriver, he deftly wedged out the four ROM chips—they weren’t soldered into the circuit board, as sense might dictate—making it simple to replace them with one of his own: A version of modified firmware that could throw off the machine’s results, subtly altering the tally of votes, never to betray a hint to the voter. The attack was concluded in minutes. To mark the achievement, his student snapped a photo of Appel—oblong features, messy black locks and a salt-and-pepper beard—grinning for the camera, fists still on the circuit board, as if to look directly into the eyes of the American taxpayer: Don’t look at me—you’re the one who paid for this thing.

Appel’s mischief might be called an occupational asset: He is part of a diligent corps of so-called cyber-academics—professors who have spent the past decade serving their country by relentlessly hacking it. Electronic voting machines—particularly a design called Direct Recording Electronic, or DRE’s—took off in 2002, in the wake of Bush v. Gore. For the ensuing 15 years, Appel and his colleagues have deployed every manner of stunt to convince the public that the system is pervasively unsecure and vulnerable.
Beginning in the late '90s, Appel and his colleague, Ed Felten, a pioneer in computer engineering now serving in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, marshaled their Princeton students together at the Center for Information Technology Policy (where Felten is still director). There, they relentlessly hacked one voting machine after another, transforming the center into a kind of Hall of Fame for tech mediocrity: reprogramming one popular machine to play Pac-Man; infecting popular models with self-duplicating malware; discovering keys to voting machine locks that could be ordered on eBay. Eventually, the work of the professors and Ph.D. students grew into a singular conviction: It was only a matter of time, they feared, before a national election—an irresistible target—would invite an attempt at a coordinated cyberattack.

The revelation this month that a cyberattack on the DNC is the handiwork of Russian state security personnel has set off alarm bells across the country: Some officials have suggested that 2016 could see more serious efforts to interfere directly with the American election. The DNC hack, in a way, has compelled the public to ask the precise question the Princeton group hoped they’d have asked earlier, back when they were turning voting machines into arcade games: If motivated programmers could pull a stunt like this, couldn't they tinker with the results in November through the machines we use to vote?

This week, the notion has been transformed from an implausible plotline in a Philip K. Dick novel into a deadly serious threat, outlined in detail by a raft of government security officials. “This isn’t a crazy hypothetical anymore,” says Dan Wallach, one of the Felten-Appel alums and now a computer science professor at Rice. “Once you bring nation states’ cyber activity into the game?” He snorts with pity. “These machines, they barely work in a friendly environment.”

The powers that be seem duly convinced. Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson recently conceded the “longer-term investments we need to make in the cybersecurity of our election process.” A statement by 31 security luminaries at the Aspen Institute issued a public statement: “Our electoral process could be a target for reckless foreign governments and terrorist groups.” Declared Wired: “America’s Electronic Voting Machines Are Scarily Easy Targets.”

For the Princeton group, it’s precisely the alarm it has been trying to sound for most of the new millennium. “Look, we could see 15 years ago that this would be perfectly possible,” Appel tells me, speaking in subdued, clipped tones. “It’s well within the capabilities of a country as sophisticated as Russia.” He pauses for a moment, as if to consider this. “Actually, it’s well within the capabilities of much less well-funded and sophisticated attackers.”

America’s Electronic Voting Machines Are Scarily Easy Targets

THIS WEEK, GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump openly speculated that this election would be “rigged.” Last month, Russia decided to take an active role in our election. There’s no basis for questioning the results of a vote that’s still months away. But the interference and aspersions do merit a fresh look at the woeful state of our outdated, insecure electronic voting machines.

We’ve previously discussed the sad state of electronic voting machines in America, but it’s worth a closer look as we approach election day itself, and within the context of increased cyber-hostilities between the US and Russia. Besides, by now states have had plenty of warning since a damning report by the Brennan Center for Justice about our voting machine vulnerabilities came out last September. Surely matters must have improved since then.

Well, not exactly. In fact, not really at all.

Rise of the Machines

Most people remember the vote-counting debacle of the 2000 election, the dangling chads that resulted in the Supreme Court breaking a Bush-Gore deadlock. What people may not remember is the resulting Help America Vote Act (HAVA), passed in 2002, which among other objectives worked to phase out the use of the punchcard voting systems that had caused millions of ballots to be tossed.

In many cases, those dated machines were replaced with electronic voting systems. The intentions were pure. The consequences were a technological train wreck.

“People weren’t thinking about voting system security or all the additional challenges that come with electronic voting systems,” says the Brennan Center’s Lawrence Norden. “Moving to electronic voting systems solved a lot of problems, but created a lot of new ones.”

The list of those problems is what you’d expect from any computer or, more specifically, any computer that’s a decade or older. Most of these machines are running Windows XP, for which Microsoft hasn’t released a security patch since April 2014. Though there’s no evidence of direct voting machine interference to date, researchers have demonstrated that many of them are susceptible to malware or, equally if not more alarming, a well-timed denial of service attack.

“When people think that people think about doing something major to impact our election results at the voting machine, they think they’d try to switch results,” says Norden, referring to potential software tampering. “But you can do a lot less than that and do a lot of damage… If you have machines not working, or working slowly, that could create lots of problems too, preventing people from voting at all.”

The extent of vulnerability isn’t just hypothetical; late last summer, Virginia decertified thousands of insecure WinVote machines. As one security researcher described it, “anyone within a half mile could have modified every vote, undetected” without “any technical expertise.” The vendor had gone out of business years prior.

The WinVote systems are an extreme case, but not an isolated one. Other voting machine models have potentially vulnerable wireless components; Virginia’s just the only one where a test proved how bad the situation was.

The worst part about the current state of voting machines is that they don’t even require outside interference to undo an election. “They’re all computers. They run on tens of thousands of lines of code,” says Norden. “It’s impossible to have a perfectly secure, perfectly reliable computer.”

Indiana: New Voter Registration Warning Issued, 56 Counties Under Investigation

ELKHART — The Secretary of State's office has issued a new voter registration warning, two weeks after the Indiana State Police announced a massive voter registration fraud investigation.

The Secretary of State's office said in a press release that it has fielded numerous call from voters who have discovered their date of birth or first name on their voter registration is incorrect. The voters then believe they are not registered because they cannot locate their information on indianavoters.com.

Secretary of State Connie Lawson said her office has found thousands of registrations that had birth dates and first names changed and that they were changed on forms filed at Bureau of Motor Vehicles offices or online.

"At this time, my office is not sure why these records were changed, but we have evaluated the Statewide Voter Registration System and have found no indication it has been compromised," she said in a statement. "We believe this may be a case of voter fraud and have turned our findings over to" the Indiana State Police.

State police are already investigating allegations of voter registration fraud in 56 counties, representing more than half of Indiana's 92 counties, including Elkhart County. Police began an investigation into voter registration files statewide when a concerned citizen alerted county election officials in an unknown county to dozens of voter application forms with discrepancies that indicated the possibility of fraud and forgery, according to a press release on Wednesday.

Doug Carter, the Indiana State Police superintendent, said in a statement that he expects charges to be filed by multiple county prosecutors in the near future related to the agencies' fraud investigation. The Elkhart County Prosecutor's Office said they have not been made aware of any criminal behavior in Elkhart County and that they would not be filing charges unless new information was forwarded to them.

"Given the fact that the Statewide Voter Registration System has not been compromised, we believe the reports Secretary Lawson turned over yesterday may serve as evidence of forgery by representatives associated with the Indiana Voter Registration Project, which is a subsidiary organization of a group that calls itself Patriot Majority USA," Carter said.

As part of the investigation state police executed a search warrant for the business offices of the nonpartisan Indiana Voter Registration Project in Indianapolis. The group is accused of altering already registered voters' information by changing the voters' addresses to an address not associated with them without the voters' knowledge.

Patriot Majority USA has accused the state of trying to suppress the minority vote through this investigation, something Carter disputes vigorously.

“This is completely false and I condemn these attacks on the governor and Indiana State Police in the strongest possible terms. Furthermore, Patriot Majority’s claim that our investigation began at the direction of Governor Pence is false," he said. "Any suggestion to the contrary is offensive to me personally and the more than 1,000 troopers who serve with integrity and distinction every single day. The leadership of Patriot Majority should be ashamed of itself for suggesting otherwise."

LOCAL IMPACT

Chad Clingerman, a member of the Elkhart County Voter Registration/Election Board, said his office has fielded quite a few calls from individuals who say they are unable to find their voter registration through the online system, but that most often it is due to human error when the caller is searching for their registration information.

"Sometimes they won't use their full name or something was mistyped and we can locate their registration on our end," he said.

Clingerman said voter registration errors are not uncommon, but generally are pretty rare.

"Voters will often type in their birth dates incorrectly on their registration form – small things like that," he said.

With the Indiana State Police investigation, Clingerman said Elkhart County officials still have not heard from investigators why the county is involved in the statewide fraud investigation.

The Secretary of State's is reassuring voters that if they find mistakes on their voter registration they will still be able to vote. Voters who explore entering different dates of birth may discover their record on indianavoters.com. They would then be able to correct their date of birth.

The correction will not take place until 30 days after the election, but the voter will be able to vote on Election Day or participate in early voting.

Clingerman said he is glad to see more people checking their registration information early so that they avoid issues at the polls. The state recommends voting early to ensure voters do not encounter issues when they go to cast their ballot.

CNN Anchors Hyperventilate After Crowd Chants ‘CNN Sucks’ At Trump Rally

Tuesday morning’s CNN New Day ended the first hour of the show criticizing Donald Trump for attacking the media, which isn’t unusual but then the conversation quickly turned into what some may call an overreaction.



CNN began by playing a clip of a Donald Trump rally yesterday where the crowd began chanting, “CNN sucks” repeatedly. The CNN panel didn’t like that one bit and blamed Trump for not telling the crowd to quit it. Hosts Chris Cuomo and Alisyn Camerota, along with guests Brian Stelter and Bill Carter suggested that Trump was endangering reporters' lives, painting a nightmare scenario of Trump supporters violently attacking reporters. “I’m telling you, something is going to happen.

Something is going to happen,” Cuomo solemnly warned.

After playing the short video clip, Cuomo, Camerota, Carter and Stelter wonder aloud what sinister outcome could arise from this display. Cuomo began by calling it “very high on the list of irresponsible things the guy has done,” blasting Trump for not thinking “about the implications to anybody other than himself.” Cuomo whined, “Have you ever heard of anybody in politics, let alone a presidential nominee, doing anything like this to the fourth estate?”

Stelter agreed this was “much, much worse than what we’ve seen in the past,” while Bill Carter added that there was “a mob mentality now at stake.” “These people are yelling and shouting and threatening reporters in a way I've never seen,” he stated.

Alisyn Camerota remarked that at rallies crowd members would “yell at” reporters and make “vulgar gestures at them.”

“[A]nd Trump encourages it,” Stelter began to say. “He needs to help bring the temperature down. Instead, he keeps raising the temperature by lying to them,” he added.

Cuomo then warned that “something is going to happen” to a reporter at a Trump rally because of the increased criticism of the media.

CUOMO: I dealt with that at the RNC. I get the passion. But a politician has a responsibility. You shape the passion of people. I don't mean to call supporters sheep. I respect people who want to back politicians. Trust me. But he makes them angry. Then instead of saying things to you, they want to do things to you. I'm telling you, something is going to happen. Something is going to happen.

Cuomo added that he used to joke that he would get arrested or attacked at Trump rally but now he fears it may be a reality.

CUOMO: It started as a joke. I used to joke, Trump is going to get me arrested some day. Somebody is going to say something in his stead, and I'm going to wind up getting arrested. Now it's not a joke anymore. I got to walk around with Camerota 24/7. [laughs]

CAMEROTA: Yeah, I protect him.



Funnily enough, at another Trump rally Monday night that’s theme was criticizing CNN’s “pro-Clinton bias,” an anti-Trump protester was actually arrested for spitting in a Trump supporter’s face.

CNN international correspondent Christiane Amanpour isn’t ashamed to brag about her bias as a journalist. The veteran reporter released a video on Thursday declaring herself to be “truthful, not neutral.”

“I learned a long time ago when I was first confronted with outrageous behavior in places like the Balkans when one side was slaughtering another because of its ethnic and religious definition,” Amanpour said. “I learned that as a journalist, I could not be morally equivalent and nor could I present false factual equivalence. I insist on being truthful, not neutral.”

TruthRevolt has often featured Amanpour’s “not neutral-ness.” During her coverage of Nelson Mandela’s memorial in South Africa in 2013, Amanpour said, “I honestly can’t help but think right now about Israel and the Palestinians.”

“Benjamin Netanyahu is under so much pressure these days and probably feels to a great extent his country is isolated in the same way that apartheid South Africa was isolated,” she added.

That's not neutral, nor truthful, as she failed to mention how all races and faiths in Israel have the same rights and many prime ministers including Netanyahu have called for a Palestinian state, yet, not one Palestinian has ever called for the recognition of the Jewish State.

Amanpour wasn’t “truthful” when reporting on Brexit when she said it was “white identity” and “xenophobia,” not democracy, that was behind Britain’s vote to exit the European Union.

Nor was Amanpour being “truthful” when she and New York Times columnist Paul Krugman figured out that the biggest problem in America is the “large fraction” of racists who support Donald Trump.

Amanpour’s audience was compelled to comment on her admission via Facebook:

“CNN full of propaganda and lies! The coverage of the Balkan conflict was one big fat lie for Nato and there so called new world order interests just like the Arab spring and Ukraine! What a world we live in !!!”

“Really now you are bragging about being biased? They should teach ethics to journalists.”

“You ought to be BOTH. Journalism is completely dead as a form of factual information. Stop telling us WHAT to think. That is not your job.”

“You are definitely not truthful or neutral !!!!!!!”

But she has her fans, too:

“Ms. Amanpour, thank you for your dedication to REAL journalism.”

“you are the Best Christiane, always watch you almost every day... good Job.”

Apparently your definition of "REAL journalism" depends on whether or not Amanpour's "neutrality" aligns with your bias.

Doesn't matter because the MSMedia is in the tank for every Leftist Democrat.

Postal Worker Caught Destroying Absentee Trump Ballots in Major Swing State

This time around, a postal worker in Ohio took to Twitter to brag about destroying absentee ballots who voted for Trump saying, “I love working at the post office in Columbus, Ohio and ripping up absentee ballots that vote for Trump” When told it was illegal by Twitter users they bragged with comments like, “excuse me but ripping all these up is hard work and karma likes it” This is likely not the only place this is happening across the country.

‘Calibration Error’ Changes GOP Votes to Dem in Illinois County

Early voting in Illinois got off to a rocky start Monday, as votes being cast for Republican candidates were transformed into votes for Democrats.

Republican state representative candidate Jim Moynihan went to vote Monday at the Schaumburg Public Library.

“I tried to cast a vote for myself and instead it cast the vote for my opponent,” Moynihan said. “You could imagine my surprise as the same thing happened with a number of races when I tried to vote for a Republican and the machine registered a vote for a Democrat.”

The conservative website Illinois Review reported that “While using a touch screen voting machine in Schaumburg, Moynihan voted for several races on the ballot, only to find that whenever he voted for a Republican candidate, the machine registered the vote for a Democrat in the same race. He notified the election judge at his polling place and demonstrated that it continued to cast a vote for the opposing candidate’s party. Moynihan was eventually allowed to vote for Republican candidates, including his own race.
