Too bad that guy didn't shoot his cow of a wife first then himself in a pique of regret before they left the house that day.

Joseph Wilcox did what he probably thought was the right thing and he may have saved lives.

He blew a couple of cardinal rules and paid the ultimate price for it. RIP.

The guy that didn't shoot his wife had her shoot him. Then he shot himself in the head... according to one thing I read.

What the hell was up with that?

If you're there to start a revolution, then stand up for your cause. Don't take a coward's way out.

They did this because they expected to spark something bigger - and they might have. They died doing what they considered was a final act against "cops".

What they REALLY did was to make authorities take a closer, harder look at everyone else, including everyone involved with Bundy, but then, that was likely their way of getting revenge on everyone.

LiveLeak video of the two pieces of shits' last moments alive in Walmart. It is especially disappointing...

I wanted more flying brain matter, spurting blood from exit wounds, and pooling blood on the floor so I could be satisfied in seeing these sacks of shit die.

They're in the automotive department. That's usually located near the sporting goods section.

I posit between that and the fact she was pushing a cart when she shot Mr. Wilcox, they were planning on looting the gun counter of firearms and/or ammo.

Mr. Wilcox may have slowed them down enough to keep them from getting to it before the cops got there.

Official: Police, Not Wife, Killed Jerad Miller

    June 10, 2014

Jerad Miller didn’t die on his own terms after all, the Review-Journal has learned.

It was a Las Vegas police officer — not Amanda Miller, his wife — who fired the shot that ended the life of the 31-year-old cop killer, an official with knowledge of the case said Tuesday.

Metro police initially thought Amanda Miller, 22, killed her husband in the Wal-Mart. That was based on security video footage that showed her pointing the gun at him, the official said.

But an autopsy revealed that Jerad Miller died from a .223 rifle shot, the official said. It was his fatal wound, the official said, and he didn’t die at the hands of his wife as police officials said Monday.

Clark County Coroner Mike Murphy said he could not confirm the report, citing the ongoing investigation.

Police aren’t sure which officer’s shot actually struck Jerad Miller during the shootout Sunday just after the couple executed two officers in a CiCi’s Pizza in the east valley.

That could be determined as the investigation continues, the official said.

Sheriff Doug Gillespie and Assistant Sheriff Kevin McMahill were at a multi-agency police debriefing Tuesday and could not respond to requests for comment.

Police have clarified several preliminary details reported after the shooting happened Sunday about 11:22 a.m. near Nellis Boulevard and Stewart Avenue.

McMahill said at a news conference Monday that Jerad Miller and his wife walked into the pizza parlor and targeted officers Alyn Beck, 41, and Igor Soldo, 31, who were eating lunch.

Jerad Miller shot Soldo once in the back of the head with a handgun, McMahill said. Beck tried to “engage” the couple but was shot in the throat before he could fire a shot. The Millers shot Beck several more times as the officer slumped to the floor.

Soldo’s funeral will be Thursday, police said. Beck’s funeral will be Saturday.

Gillespie initially said Sunday that he thought one officer had returned fire.

The couple then covered Beck with a Gadsden Flag, a yellow banner with a coiled snake above the words, “Don’t Tread on Me.” They then put a note on Soldo’s body with a swastika pin that said this was “the beginning of a revolution,” McMahill said.

The couple took the officers’ handguns and left for Wal-Mart, where Jerad Miller fired a single shot and yelled about starting a revolution.

Joseph Robert Wilcox, 31, was in the store with a friend and saw Jerad Miller fire the gun. Wilcox was carrying a concealed weapon and told a friend he was going to do something, McMahill said.

As he moved to confront Jerad Miller, Wilcox passed Amanda Miller, not realizing the two were together. She slipped behind Wilcox and shot him at close range. His efforts were “heroic,” McMahill said.

More Metro officers arrived minutes later and blocked the back door with a patrol car. When Jerad Miller shot the door from the inside to open it, a five-officer team entered and had a shootout with the couple.

Both Millers were apparently struck by police gunfire, but McMahill said Monday that only Amanda Miller was hit.

The couple then laid down in the middle of the store’s automotive section, covered in oil and antifreeze. Although the security footage showed Amanda Miller point her gun at her husband, she apparently never fired at him.

Instead, she shot herself in the head. She died at a hospital; her husband died on the Wal-Mart floor.

The new information raises more questions about the intentions of the couple, who had greater delusions of death and mayhem on their minds.

Neighbors told police the couple left their apartment at 4:30 a.m. Sunday and said would murder cops. It seems that few people took their threats seriously; both had rambled about right-wing extremist conspiracy theories in online videos and on social media sites for years.

The couple brought bags containing a shotgun, the officers’ handguns, two other handguns, 200 rounds of ammunition, knives, first aid supplies, camouflage clothing and MRE-style food into Wal-Mart.

It’s not clear why they picked the officers at CiCi’s.

Police believe the Millers acted alone, although the agency is being cautious. For the time being, there were will be 300 to 350 Metro officers on patrol instead of the usual 150.

Jerad Miller had a criminal history in Washington state and Indiana dating to at least 2000, with arrests and charges ranging from misdemeanor battery to felony drug trafficking. He met Amanda in Indiana; they married in 2012.

In January, the month the Millers moved to Las Vegas, they were interviewed by federal law enforcement officers after they threatened to “shoot up” a Bureau of Motor Vehicles office in Indiana, according to a law enforcement official in Las Vegas.

Miller called a help line of the Indiana BMV after he was stopped by police in Nevada because he was driving with a suspended Indiana license, BMV spokeswoman Danielle Dean told the Review-Journal.

Dean said Jerad Miller threatened to shoot people if he was arrested. His threat was forwarded to Nevada’s Department of Public Safety and eventually landed with the Southern Nevada Counterterrorism Center, the “fusion center” at Metro.

It’s unclear which agency interviewed Miller or what the agency did with the information.

Jerad Miller wrote often about the country’s “fascist government” and was an avid supporter of Bunkerville rancher Cliven Bundy. The couple hoped to join the militia group protesting Bureau of Land Management agents removing Bundy’s livestock from federal land but were kicked off the ranch after the militia learned Jerad Miller was a felon carrying a gun.

His family posted a note on the door of their Lafayette, Ind., home on Tuesday expressing shock and sadness, according to a photo from the Lafayette Journal & Courier.

“We wish to express our greatest sympathies, thoughts and prayers to the families who have lost their loved ones in this horrible act of violence,” the note said.

Walmart Shooting Victim's Mother: 'I'm Glad He Helped'

    June 10, 2014

The family of the man who got involved with the couple accused of shooting and killing two Las Vegas Metro officers inside a Walmart is remembering him as a hero.

Joseph Wilcox, 31, was shot and killed while confronting suspect Jared Miller, police said.

Wilcox's family said he was at the Walmart in the 300 block of North Nellis Boulevard near Stewart Avenue late Sunday morning to return a cable modem with a friend.

When Jared Miller and his wife, Amanda Miller, burst into the store, yelling about a revolution, Wilcox, who was carrying a firearm, made the decision to get involved.

"My son carries a CCW and happened to have his firearm. He stopped carrying for the longest time. He pulled it and his friend said, ‘Joseph, let's go.' His friend started running, turned around and didn't see Joseph," said Joseph Wilcox's mother, Debra Wilcox.

Metro police said Joseph Wilcox confronted Jared Miller, but wasn't aware Amanda Miller was behind him. She shot him from behind, and he died of a gunshot wound to the chest, the coroner reported.

Debra Wilcox and her family waited 14 hours for the Clark County coroner to inform them of Joseph Wilcox's death. They said they knew he had died long before that, though.

Joseph Wilcox's friend called Debra Wilcox, urging her to get to the Walmart store. She said she and her family walked the perimeter of the parking lot, asking if anyone had seen her son. Finally, out of desperation, they called the coroner.

Debra Wilcox said she realized her son was the one killed when she tracked his cell phone.

"I called his phone and it showed that it was on the floor at Walmart customer service, and I told them [family] he was gone," she said.

Debra Wilcox said she's not surprised her son tried to intervene.

"I guess I can tell you that I wish he didn't go into that Walmart. I wish he didn't. I'm glad he helped," she said.

An account has been set up at Wells Fargo bank for those wishing to donate money to Joseph Wilcox's family. It is:

    Joseph R. Wilcox Memorial Fund

Vegas Police, Community Honor Officer Igor Soldo

    June 12, 2014

Las Vegas police, community members, friends and family are paying tribute Thursday to Officer Igor Soldo, who was one of three people killed in Sunday's shooting rampage.

Soldo is the first of the three victims being honored in services following the deadly shootings at a pizzeria and a Walmart in northeast Las Vegas.

A procession of Metro motorcycles and vehicles escorted a pickup truck that carried Soldo's casket, draped in an American flag-draped casket, from Palm Northwest Mortuary. The procession headed to Canyon Ridge Christian Church for funeral services planned at 11 a.m.

Tweets among attendees at the service showed images of the funeral's program, which included a letter from his infant son.

"You're my hero. We didn't have much time together, but I will forever cherish the photos and videos you and mommy took," signed Logan, Soldo's son.

In addition, a collection of Soldo's friends from Metro and from high school shared stories and tributes of the fallen officer.

Police said 31-year-old Jared Miller and his wife, 22-year-old Amanda Miller, shot and killed Soldo, 31, and 41-year-old Officer Alyn Beck, as the officers were eating lunch at a pizza parlor near Nellis Boulevard and Stewart Avenue.

Investigators said the Millers then walked across the street to a Walmart, where they shot and killed Joseph Wilcox, 31, who was carrying a concealed weapon, when he tried to stop the couple.

Soldo's funeral is expected to include police honors and then an escort to Palm Mortuary Northwest on Jones Boulevard. Soldo will be cremated.

Beck's services were scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday at The Smith Center. His body will be taken from the Palm Mortuary on Main to the Smith Center, and it is believed there will be an escort. Beck will be buried in Wyoming.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, both services will be open to the public, however, law enforcement will be given priority seating.

Funeral arrangements for Wilcox have not yet been announced.

Thousands Honor Slain Las Vegas Police Officer Igor Soldo

    June 12, 2014

Slain Las Vegas police officer Igor Soldo was remembered Thursday as a devoted family man who loved reading books, traveling around the world, playing basketball and fighting crime.

“This community has lost a true hero,” said friend Jason Hopfer, who worked with Soldo at the Metropolitan Police Department.

Thousands — many in uniform — packed into the Canyon Ridge Christian Church to pay tribute to Soldo, one of two Las Vegas police officers ambushed and killed Sunday while having lunch. The church, at 6200 W. Lone Mountain Road, has a capacity of about 3,300.

Soldo, 31, and fellow officer Alyn Beck were gunned down while eating at CiCi’s Pizza, 309 N. Nellis Blvd. A separate service for Beck, 41, is planned for Saturday.

The men were uniformed patrol officers assigned to the department’s Northeast Area Command and the first two victims in a shooting rampage that resulted in five deaths.

Beck, a senior patrol officer and father of three, joined the Las Vegas department in 2001.

Larry Burns, a recently retired police captain and candidate for Clark County sheriff, spoke at Thursday’s service and recounted the story of Soldo’s first attempt to be hired as a Las Vegas police officer.

Burns said Soldo drove from Lincoln, Neb., for his interview but arrived five minutes late and was sent away.

After going through the hiring process a second time, Soldo joined the department in 2006.

“Our lives have been blessed because he has served us,” Burns said.

Soldo “enthusiastically supported” Burns’ campaign, according to the funeral program. Burns will face Assistant Sheriff Joe Lombardo in the general election.

Friends said Soldo had an impressive memory when it came to recalling statutes or case law.

“But if you asked Igor where he put his car keys, he would have no idea,” joked Josh Stearns, who met Soldo in the police academy.

Stearns also recalled being involved in a foot pursuit, during which he heard Soldo say, “I got you, buddy. I’m right behind you.”

Welcoming the pair of fresh legs, Stearns let Soldo take over the pursuit.

When Stearns caught up to him, Soldo was handcuffing the suspect. Afterward, Soldo scolded him, saying, “Stearns, this isn’t a relay race foot pursuit. Where did you go?”

The story drew laughter from the crowd.

David Walker also met Soldo in the academy and “immediately recognized that his hard exterior was all a sham.”

He said Soldo, who was married and had an infant son, showed “his true self” when he was home with his family.

Walker also described his friend as a good storyteller with a great memory for details.

“It was amazing how accurate he was,” Walker said.

Dan Gibson said he met Soldo in high school in Nebraska. Later, they had a falling out, and Gibson didn’t speak to Soldo for months.

When Gibson finally approached his friend again, Soldo was “overjoyed.”

“He would always have your back, even if you turned your back on him,” Gibson said.

Soldo had encouraged his older brother, Robert, to become a police officer.

Robert Soldo, 33, is an officer in Beatrice, Neb. Dressed in his uniform, he spoke at the service and described his younger brother as his “partner in crime” during the pair’s youth in Bosnia.

“I wish I could take that bullet for him, because it’s not fair,” Robert Soldo said.

Their father, Pero, was a fire chief in Bosnia. The family came to the United States when the boys were children, settling in Nebraska.

Soldo graduated in 2000 from Lincoln Southeast High School in Lincoln, Neb., and then studied at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 2004.

Before joining the Metropolitan Police Department, Soldo worked as a part-time corrections officer for three years in Lincoln.

He met his wife, Andrea, while working at the Nebraska jail, where she also was a correctional officer. The couple married in 2009 and planned to celebrate their son’s first birthday in Lincoln on July 7.

Several large screens throughout the church displayed images from Soldo’s life as the service came to an end. Various photos showed Soldo with family, friends and co-workers. Videos captured him making his son, Logan, laugh.

The display ended with a video of Soldo holding his son and telling him to say “Goodbye, Mommy.” The baby then waved to the camera.

Outside the church, numerous police officers directed drivers as they entered and later exited the parking lot.

Dozens of Las Vegas police cadets marched in line before the service. Their discipline and determination marked an odd contrast at the service: despite the grief of the event, the mood was one of pride and honor.

Uniformed police officers set their jaws but now and then lifted sunglasses to wipe away tears.

The Nevada Emerald Society donned red, blue and green kilts and joined Las Vegas and Henderson bagpipes and drum groups for a haunting rendition of “Amazing Grace.”

After the service, police motorcycles led two white limousines followed by hundreds of patrol cars in the funeral procession.

The motorcade traveled from the church to Palms Northwest Mortuary and Cemetery, on Jones Boulevard north of the 215 Beltway.

Dozens lined the cemetery fence to catch a glimpse of the graveside service, where Soldo’s wife was given an American flag.

Police snipers set up on the roof of a building on cemetery grounds. Several officers attending the funeral said at least one “anti-government” threat had been made. Metro spokesman officer Jesse Roybal declined comment when asked about perceived threats.

Police still don’t know what triggered Sunday’s attack by Jerad and Amanda Miller, a married couple who espoused anti-government views.

Armed bystander Joseph Wilcox, 31, was shot and killed by Amanda Miller after he confronted Jerad Miller inside a Wal-Mart near Cici’s Pizza.

Wilcox, called a hero by police after his death, never fired a shot.

Jerad Miller, 31, was shot and killed by a police tactical team that swarmed the store.

Amanda Miller, 22, shot and killed herself.

    FUNDRAISERS FOR THE FALLEN

Many businesses have hosted fundraisers this week to help the families of three men killed in Sunday’s shooting — Las Vegas police officers Alyn Beck and Igor Soldo, and bystander Joseph Wilcox.

Fabulous Freddy’s Car Wash gave a free car wash to anyone who donated money at its locations on Wednesday. From 8 a.m. until noon, $7,528.50 was raised and 650 free car washes were given out. The money will be split between the three families.

Freed’s Bakery made nearly 37,000 cupcakes to sell on Wednesday for $1 each. Between cupcakes and additional donations, $52,864.69 was raised and will be split between the three families.

Radio station X107.5 had two fundraisers this week. The first, for the officers’ families, raised nearly $12,000. The second, for Wilcox’s family, raised $15,000 including a $10,000 donation from entertainer Terry Fator.

Radio station Mix 94.1 had a fundraiser in conjunction with Dunkin’ Donuts and the Trauma Intervention Program of Southern Nevada. Over $11,000 was raised.

The Injured Police Officers Fund is hosting a fundraiser Friday at the Sam’s Club on Eastern and Serene avenues. Donations will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Las Vegas couple who killed two police officers, shopper were heavily armed, wearing adult diapers during shooting spree

    Associated Press | June 24, 2014 2:54 PM ET
    More from Associated Press

LAS VEGAS — A man and woman who killed two Las Vegas police officers in a pizza shop and a shopper in a Wal-Mart before they died in a store shootout earlier this month were heavily armed and carried ammunition including armor-piercing bullets, Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie said Monday.
Jerad and Amanda Miller wore adult diapers and carried four handguns, a shotgun, water and food, Gillespie said. The couple also smashed a Wal-Mart sporting-goods display case with a baseball bat to get more ammunition as they exchanged gunfire with SWAT officers, he said.
The husband and wife died June 8 after being cornered in the back of the store in the 15-minute shootout. In all, 52 shots were fired by the Millers and police inside the store. The husband and wife fired 36 shots, Gillespie said, and police fired 16.
“The two suspects involved in this horrible event were well-armed and ready to kill as many cops as they could,” Gillespie said in the latest update of the investigation of the shooting that left officers Igor Soldo and Alyn Beck and Wal-Mart shopper Joseph Wilcox dead.

Wilcox was killed trying to draw his legal handgun to stop the Millers, who entered the store after shooting the officers eating lunch in the nearby restaurant.
The suspects “were prepared on that day to hunker down and stay in that Wal-Mart as long as they needed to,” the sheriff said.
Gillespie wouldn’t disclose more about a motive for the Millers’ rampage and declined to say what was contained in a note left with a swastika symbol and a “Don’t Tread on Me” flag in the pizza shop where the officers were ambushed.
He didn’t say how many shots were fired in the CiCi’s Pizza. That information was not immediately being made public, Sgt. John Sheahan said.
Gillespie said police still believe the Millers acted alone.
Police said previously the Millers shared an ideology with militia and white supremacists that law enforcement officers were oppressors. The couple was kicked out of an encampment of supporters of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, who engaged in an armed standoff in April with federal Bureau of Land Management agents trying to round up Bundy cattle in a public land trespassing dispute.
The Millers each had a handgun when they killed Soldo and Beck, and each took one of the officers’ 9mm handguns and two spare clips of ammunition. The guns they brought with them were obtained by Amanda Miller in Indiana, where the couple lived before moving to Las Vegas in January.
Jerad Miller, 31, could not legally own weapons as a felon. He was convicted of vehicle theft in Washington state and had a criminal record in Indiana.

During the shootout in the Wal-Mart, a split-second exchange of gunfire changed the outcome of the fast-developing situation, Gillespie said.
Officer Brett Brosnahan came face to face with a surprised Amanda Miller rounding the corner of an aisle, and he wounded the 22-year-old assailant in the upper right shoulder.
Brosnahan wasn’t hurt. He retreated before Jerad Miller, who had pulled a pistol-grip .12-gauge shotgun from his gym bag and donned a cloth vest and belt of shotgun shells, was mortally wounded in the chest by another police officer firing a military-style .223-caliber rifle.
Gillespie quoted Jerad Miller as declaring the start of a revolution and firing one shot into the ceiling after entering the Wal-Mart. He said the assailant shouted, “Stand down. You have failed. I am in charge now,” as Sgt. Kurt McKenzie tried to get him to surrender near the back of the store.
Jerad Miller died lying prone on the floor. His wife lay nearby on her back, pointing a handgun at him before putting it to her own head and pulling the trigger. She was pronounced dead later at a hospital.

Both were Occutards, it's just too bad others had to die in their process of flaming out.

    Specifically?

They did most of their shooting with handguns and a shotgun. The pistols, it appears they had from the camera footage, were modern handguns and it is highly unlikely they had AP rounds for those as AP in pistol rounds in 9mm, .45, etc. are illegal.

I haven't seen anything that said they had rifles.

That armor piercing stuff is an outright lie, unless they left rifles in their vehicle (I am betting they probably had rifles in the vehicle anyway)....

Hey mal.... This is for you.... check out the "heavily medicated" part:

Jerad and Amanda Miller: Were Vegas shooters informants ‘gone off the reservation’?

    By wkchild on • ( )
    from 21st Century Wire:

The Vegas Shooting was the top national news story two weeks ago. Behind every dramatic story, it’s not uncommon to find a very real sub-plot which, if revealed, will redefine the official narrative of events. This is certainly the case regarding another high-profile shooting in Columbine, Colorado in 1999, where survivor Mark Taylor testified how student shooters were also paedophile victims and heavily medicated at the time of shooting, and also how police SWAT shooters may have been responsible for at least some of the deaths of students at the high school.

The same twist appears to have been in play with Vegas cop-killers Jerad and Amanda Miller. Quietly hidden at the end of a Reuters news release is the fact that Clark County Sheriff’s Department had a relationship with the Millers well before the tragic shooting, and kept a file on the newly arrived Nevada residents having met with Jerad on no less than three separate occasions:

“According to police, the Millers had cooperated with Nevada law enforcement twice this year to provide witness testimony, but detectives did not receive any indication that the couple had anti-police sentiments.”

    21st Century Wire says…

Considering the Sheriff Department’s extreme focus on the Bundy Ranch crisis, one might ask if the Millers attended the Bundy Ranch protest as police informants, or worse – as provocateurs. This becomes a strong possibility when one considers how the Millers were kicked off Bundy Ranch for their overly aggressive statements and provocative behaviour. As a convicted multiple felon, Jerad Miller would not have been allowed to hold a legally registered firearm, and his presence on Bundy Ranch where he somehow acquired a full military costume, and his well-coached, staged-managed TV piece posing with an AR15 for Al Jazeera America (video below where Al Jazeera promoted him as a ‘militia member’ even though he was not) could have provided an easy pretext for a Ruby Ridge-style FBI and ATF raid at the protest site.

Authorities and Washington-directed media outlets were incredibly quick to paint the Vegas Shooting as a ‘lone wolf’, anti-government spontaneous event, with the Sheriff’s Dept. even employing misdirection from the onset by painting the false picture that the Millers had a ‘suicide pact’ culminating in a (twisted) romantic murder suicide – concealing the fact that SWAT marksmen had killed at least one of the 3 found dead in Wallmart. However, if the Millers were emotionally unstable (as is clearly the case) and were being pressured by authorities in their role as police or federal informants in narcotics or at Bundy Ranch, then this might explain their targeted revenge killings against the LVPD.

Las Vegas PD and Clark County Sheriff Douglas Gillespie may have more questions to answer regarding his office’s files on the Millers.

Too many coincidences here – which now exposes a less-than-perfect storyline from Sheriff Douglas Gillespie the Clark County Sheriff’s Department and many more questions for the FBI as to whether or not the highly compromised Millers were involved in any informant activities…

Vegas Shooters: Jerad and Amanda Miller.

Jerad and Amanda Miller, who were banished from Bunkerville by supporters of Cliven Bundy, had worked as informants for Nevada law enforcement agencies. After the Millers murdered three people — Las Vegas Metro Officers Alyn Beck and Igor Soldo, and Joseph Wilcox, an armed citizen who heroically tried to stop their rampage — their former handlers claimed that they were unaware of the couple’s “anti-police sentiments.” That claim is difficult to credit, given that Jerad Miller had a lengthy criminal record, and the fact that the couple had made itself very prominent in protests associated with the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Jerad Miller, who was mired in the probation system because of narcotics convictions, was precisely the kind of person whose vulnerabilities make him valuable as an informant and provocateur.

The Millers were among many hundreds of people who traveled to Bunkerville, Nevada to support rancher Cliven Bundy in his confrontation with the BLM. They may well have been the only volunteers who were asked to leave because of concerns regarding what was described as their “aggressive nature and volatility.” During their brief visit, however, Jerad was interviewed by the local NBC affiliate, which meant that he was depicted as representative of the people who had rallied to the Bundy family’s cause.

Predictably, following the couple’s subsequent killing spree critics of Cliven Bundy claimed that the rancher, his supporters, and the entire “insurrectionist right” shared collective responsibility for that crime. Honest people who aren’t imprisoned in collectivist ideology would recognize that rather than being radicalized by so-called anti-government extremists, Jerad Miller is more properly seen as a living example of “blowback” in the government’s war on drugs.
