Dick Cheney Predicts Another 9/11 in This Decade

When asked if the United States will “get through this decade without another massive attack on the homeland,” former vice president Dick Cheney replied that he thinks something even worse than the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks is coming.


“I doubt it,” Cheney said. “I think there will be another attack and the next time I think it’s likely to be far deadlier than the last one. You can just imagine what would happen if somebody could smuggle a nuclear device, put it in a shipping container, and drive it down the beltway outside Washington D.C.”


Hewitt wondered if the government could continue in such a scenario and Cheney recalled a Cold War era plan for constitutional government in the event of a nuclear attack.


“Basically, it involved having a government in waiting if you will ready to go in the event of nuclear attack on the United States so that we could always maintain the constitutional-based governmental authority,” he explained. “We operated and actually trained under circumstances of how would we go about providing for a government to survive if we were having nuclear weapons from the Soviet Union falling all over the country.”

Cheney predicts 'far deadlier' than 9/11 attack in US within next decade




Former US Vice President Dick Cheney predicted the next terrorist attack in the United States within the next decade. He said it will be "far deadlier" than the September 11, 2001 attacks, because the threat might come from a nuclear device.

During an interview with the US-based Salem Radio Network Cheney said he expects another terrorist attack on US soil within the next 10 years.

"I think there will be another attack, and next time I think it's likely to be far deadlier than the last one," he said on the conservative Hugh Hewitt radio program when asked if the United States could get through another decade without another "massive attack on the homeland," Cheney told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, when asked if the United States will “get through this decade without another massive attack on the homeland.”

Cheney continued: "You can imagine what would happen if somebody could smuggle a nuclear device, put it in a shipping container and drive it down the beltway outside Washington, DC.

Then Cheney was asked if another attack would lead to "military rule" and the reconstitution of the US authorities. Cheney detailed the "continuity of government" program, which he said was set up during the Cold War so that a "government in waiting" could be in place if necessary.

Cheney, who was the vice president from 2001 to 2009, under President George W. Bush. His predictions come as the former vice president, who was highly involved in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, is now pressing hard against President Barack Obama's foreign policy.
