Listen.... as a Star Wars "fan" (not a big one, just like the story line) the Sand People are as close to Arabs as you can get. A bunch of stupid looking, geeky, bearded dumbasses with bad teeth and stringy hair, long guns and like to rob anyone they can rob is about as close as you can get to an image of what the desert Arabs are like.
The Jawas are like the snot nosed little fucking gimme-gimme-kids who are always pestering you for food, money, so stealing your shit and then selling it back to you.
I'm being serious here. If those characters weren't directly designed after Arabs I don't know who or what was.
Arabs in general (not Muslims, but ARABS) are a group of people living in a shitty world, in a desert, where nothing grows, nothing is worth anything, life is cheap, women are chattel, kids are slaves and white people are slaves if they can get them.... this shit hasn't changed since the beginning of time.
Since Europeans first came into contact with Arabs this hasn't changed.
They are opportunists and thieves.
