American future: 55 million Latinos in U.S., one-third under 18

    By Paul Bedard (@SecretsBedard) • 4/22/16 4:19 PM

There are 55.3 million Latinos in America, nearly triple the 1980 population, and those under 18 years old are the largest group, a demographic fact likely to influence the future of the country, according to Census figures.

A new analysis from the Pew Research Center, found that the vast majority are of "Mexican origin," and most of the younger Latinos were born in the United States to immigrants. Hispanics represent over 17 percent of the total U.S. population and 21 percent of all millennials, said Pew.

The new report helps to complete the picture of the U.S. immigration population, which previous reports pegged at 61 million. According to Pew, 35.3 million, or 64 percent of the total number of the Latino immigrant population are Mexican-origin. A 2008 Pew report said that more than half of the immigrants from Mexico were illegally in the United States.

A standout finding is the youth of the Hispanics. That population is far younger than whites or blacks.
    Those under 18:

    — 32 percent of Hispanics.
    — 26 percent of blacks.
    — 20 percent of Asians.
    — 19 percent of whites.

"For the nation's Hispanic population, youth is a defining characteristic. For example, among Hispanic eligible voters, 44 percent are millennial Hispanics — the single largest cohort of Hispanic eligible voters. And among the nation's millennials, Hispanics are a greater share than they are among all American adults — Hispanics make up 21 percent of all U.S. millennials versus 15 percent of all adults in 2014," said the analysis from Pew's Hispanic Trends division.

Under Obama, Illegal Immigrants Receive More In Welfare Payments Than American Citizens Do

Illegal immigrants receiving the most in the study of 2012 figures come from Mexico and Central America. Their average annual taxpayer funded welfare collection is $8,251, 86 percent higher than the benefits used by native households, said the report.

by Geoffrey Grider May 9, 2016

Illegal immigrant households receive an average of $5,692 in federal welfare benefits every year, far more than the average “native” American household, at $4,431, according to a new report on the cost of immigration released Monday.

The Center for Immigration Studies, in an analysis of federal cost figures, found that all immigrant-headed households — legal and illegal — receive an average of $6,241 in welfare, 41 percent more than native households. As with Americans receiving benefits such as food stamps and cash, much of the welfare to immigrants supplements their low wage jobs.

The total cost is over $103 billion in welfare benefits to households headed by immigrants. A majority, 51 percent, of immigrant households receive some type of welfare compared to 30 percent of native households, said the analysis of Census data.

President Obama Says He Will Help Millions of Illegal Immigrants

Illegal immigrants receiving the most in the study of 2012 figures come from Mexico and Central America. Their average annual taxpayer funded welfare collection is $8,251, 86 percent higher than the benefits used by native households, said the report.
“While it is important for Americans to understand the rate of welfare use among immigrants, expressing that use in dollar terms offers a more tangible metric that is tied to current debates over fiscal policy. With the nation facing a long-term budgetary deficit, this study helps illuminate immigration’s impact on the problem,” wrote the report’s author Jason Richwine, a Harvard educated analyst of immigration data.

Trump Vows To Deport All Illegal Immigrants & Undo President Obama’s Executive Order On Immigration

The new report follows another that found President Obama seeking $17,613 for every new illegal minor, more than Social Security retirees get.

Richwine noted that illegal immigrants are barred from directly receiving welfare, but instead get it via their legal children. “Illegal immigrants are barred from directly accessing most (though not all) welfare programs, but they can receive welfare through their U.S.-born children. Legal immigrant households, which have greater eligibility for welfare, cost $6,378 on average,” he wrote.

    The key findings:

    • The average household headed by an immigrant (legal or illegal) costs taxpayers $6,234 in federal welfare benefits, which is 41 percent higher than the $4,431 received by the average native household.
    • The average immigrant household consumes 33 percent more cash welfare, 57 percent more food assistance, and 44 percent more Medicaid dollars than the average native household. Housing costs are about the same for both groups.
    • At $8,251, households headed by immigrants from Central America and Mexico have the highest welfare costs of any sending region — 86 percent higher than the costs of native households.
    • Illegal immigrant households cost an average of $5,692 (driven largely by the presence of U.S.-born children), while legal immigrant households cost $6,378.
    • The greater consumption of welfare dollars by immigrants can be explained in large part by their lower level of education and larger number of children compared to natives. Over 24 percent of immigrant households are headed by a high school dropout, compared to just 8 percent of native households. In addition, percent of immigrant households have three or more children, vs. just 6 percent of native households. source

Clinton Releases Plan to Dissolve U.S. Border Within 100 Days

    AP Photos

    by Julia Hahn25 May 2016

Professional Republicans in the #NeverTrump movement continue to oppose the presumptive nominee selected by the GOP electorate and are now floating strategies to throw the election to Hillary Clinton.

However, an examination of Clinton’s campaign promises reveals that Republicans who are willing to thwart Trump in favor of Clinton will be complicit in electing a President who would seek to bring about the complete and, possibly irreversible, dissolution of our nation’s borders.

A review of Clinton’s stated positions on the issue suggests she is perhaps the most extreme candidate on immigration ever to run for the office of the U.S. Presidency. Her views place her even further outside the mainstream of the American electorate than President Barack Obama, who systematically dismantled U.S. immigration law during his two terms in office.

Below are just a few of the extreme immigration positions held by Clinton.

    (1) Expanding Unconstitutional Executive Amnesty
Perhaps one of the most radical aspects Clinton’s open borders platform is that she is openly campaigning on defending and even expanding President Obama’s unconstitutional executive amnesties.
“You can count on me to defend President Obama’s executive actions on DACA and DAPA when I am president,” Clinton said, referring to Obama’s 2012 (DACA) and 2014 (DAPA) executive amnesties, which gave work permits and access to federal benefits to millions of illegal immigrants.

Clinton’s campaign website states that, as President, she will “defend President Obama’s executive actions to provide deportation relief for DREAMers and parents of Americans and lawful residents.”
Meaning, Clinton will allow millions of illegal immigrants to remain in the United States, receive work permits to legally fill American jobs, and get access to federal benefits paid for by U.S. taxpayers.

In addition, Clinton’s website says she will “extend those actions to additional persons with sympathetic cases if Congress refuses to act.”
If Congress continues its refusal to act on comprehensive immigration reform, Hillary will put in place a simple, straightforward, accessible system for parents of DREAMers and others with a history of service and contribution to their communities to be able to make their case and be eligible for deferred action as well.
However, as Sen. Jeff Sessions has pointed out, Congress has acted on so-called “comprehensive immigration reform” and it has rejected it. Sessions explains that the reason any executive-ordered amnesty is unconstitutional is because “the President’s action erases the laws Congress has passed in order to implement laws Congress has refused to pass.”

Sessions said that “Congress considered and rejected these changes to immigration law in 2006, 2007, 2010, 2013, and 2014.”

While Clinton is pushing for immigration policies that would expand migration rates, polls show that the American electorate overwhelming wants immigration levels to be frozen or reduced—including 92% of the GOP electorate and 83% of the American electorate overall.

Moreover, according to an October Rasmussen survey, most Americans still oppose Obama’s unconstitutional executive amnesty. A Kellyanne Conway poll found that by a 2-1 margin, voters believe that illegal immigrants should be encouraged to return home by shutting off their access to U.S. jobs and welfare.

    (2) Amnesty Within 100 Days
Clinton has pledged to enact amnesty within her first 100 days in office. As NBC recently reported: “If elected, the former secretary of state has promised to build on President Obama’s executive actions and introduce comprehensive immigration reform during her first 100 days in office.”

Clinton’s website has explained that by “comprehensive immigration reform,” Clinton means full citizenship for illegal immigrants, which would give them welfare access, voting privileges, and the ability to bring over their family members through chain migration.

“As president, Hillary will fight for comprehensive immigration reform that provides a full and equal path to citizenship,” Clinton’s website states.

Full amnesty for the illegal immigrant population will cost U.S. taxpayers $6.3 trillion, according to a report from the Heritage Foundation.

Clinton’s pledge for amnesty perhaps explains why she won the endorsement of open borders advocate Luis Gutierrez–who has previously said “I have only one loyalty… and that’s to the immigrant community.”

In return, Clinton has heaped praise on Gutierrez, declaring that “few people have done as much as Luis to make sure that when it comes to America’s policies on immigration, those policies reflect America’s values. He organizes, strategizes, preaches, teaches, inspires, cajoles, whatever it takes to keep this movement moving forward.”

Interestingly, Paul Ryan also won the early endorsement of Gutierrez prior to being elected as House Speaker. As Bretibart News has previously reported, Ryan’s views on foreign migration, foreign trade, and foreign wars are more similar to Hillary Clinton’s views than those of GOP presumptive nominee Donald Trump.

    (3) Freezing deportations
Clinton has said that, as President, that she will essentially freeze deportations.

“I would not deport children. I do not want to deport family members either,” Clinton declared in March. Clinton’s pledge not to enforce U.S. immigration law as President represents an essentially unprecedented departure from the nation’s history of enforcing immigration law.

The Center for Immigration Studies’ Mark Krikorian described Clinton’s pledge as “a breathtaking step toward open borders.”

As the Washington Post reported: “Clinton’s pledge not to deport any illegal immigrants except violent criminals and terrorists represents a major break from President Obama, and it could vastly increase the number of people who would be allowed to stay in the country.”

Clinton’s vision erases entirely the protections that U.S. immigration laws are supposed to afford American citizens: such as protecting Americans from losing a job to an illegal immigrant, preventing the sapping of school and hospital resources, as well as defending the voting privileges and enfranchisement of U.S. citizens (giving citizenship to illegal immigrants allows them to cancel out the votes of native-born American citizens).

The implication of Clinton’s platform– i.e. that illegal entry is not in and of itself a deportable offense–represents a central pillar of the open borders credo: namely, that millions of people can illegally come to the country, take jobs, attend U.S. schools, receive affirmative action, apply for federal benefits, and give birth to children who receive birthright citizenship.

Moreover, waiting until after a violent conviction has been obtained to deport an illegal alien means that immigration laws were enforced far too late–i.e. they were not enforced until after an American was victimized, raped, or murdered by a criminal alien. A federal policy that waits to enforce immigration laws until after there is a criminal conviction would mean admitting and releasing criminals by the hundreds of thousands, and letting them roam free until after they have committed a crime, and have been apprehended, tried, and convicted for that crime.

As Sen. Sessions has explained, immigration laws ought to remove criminal aliens before they are convicted of a violent crime. “Our goal should be to keep 100% of dangerous aliens out of the United States… we need to remove potentially violent offenders before they hurt innocent families—before the irreversible occurs.”

    (4) There’s no need to secure the border because it’s already “the most secure border we’ve ever had”
Even as tens of thousands of migrants continue to pour across our southern border, Clinton has declared that the border is “the most secure border we’ve ever had”– suggesting that she does not feel it is necessary to take additional actions to secure it. Clinton argues that since the border is already secure, it is time to give amnesty to the millions of migrants who have entered illegally.

“We have the most secure border we’ve ever had… The Republicans, the opponents, no longer have an argument,” Clinton said during a March CNN/Univision Democratic debate. “We enhanced the border security. That part of the work is done… Everybody who I know who has looked at it says it is OK. We have a secure border. There’s no need for this rhetoric and demagoguery that still is carried out on the Republican side. You’ve run out of excuses. Let’s move to comprehensive immigration reform with a path to citizenship.”

    (5) Closing Detention Centers
On her website, Clinton pledges to “end family detention and close private immigrant detention centers”.

“Hillary believes we should end family detention for parents and children who arrive at our border in desperate situations. We have alternatives to detention for those who pose no flight or public safety risk, such as supervised release,” Clinton’s website explains.

This again represents a radical step in further dismantling what little immigration enforcement is now in place. Clinton is essentially saying that she will not detain new incoming illegal immigrants, but will instead release them into the interior of the United States.

    (6) Obamacare for illegal aliens
Clinton has repeatedly said that she supports giving Obamacare to illegal immigrants. Clinton’s website says that Clinton wants to “Expand access to affordable health care to all families… She believes we should let families—regardless of immigration status—buy into the Affordable Care Act exchanges.”

Chelsea Clinton echoed this sentiment while campaigning for her mother. “It’s so important to extend the Affordable Care Act to people who are living and working here, regardless of immigration status, regardless of citizenship status,” Chelsea Clinton said in March.

    (7) Full path to citizenship
Clinton has pledged to use federal resources to ensure that millions of more foreign migrants are able to vote in U.S. elections:
There are millions of people in America who could be naturalized, but for one reason or another, they’re not. So let’s help more of our neighbors claim their rights. It’s so powerful, so precious, to be a citizen of the United States!

To be able to vote in our elections, to have a voice in our future, and I want to take down the barriers that are holding people back. So here’s a few things I will do: I will work to expand fee waivers, so more people seeking naturalization can get a break on the costs. I will increase access to language programs to help people boost their English proficiency. I will enhance outreach and education so more people know their options and are engaged in the process. I don’t want anyone who could be a citizen to miss out on that opportunity.
Polling data suggests that Clinton’s voter importation plan will overwhelmingly benefit the Democratic Party.

A 2011 Pew survey found that Hispanics have a more negative view of capitalism (55%) than do supporters of Occupy Wall Street (47%). A 2012 Pew Hispanic Center survey found that 75% of Hispanics prefer bigger governments that provide more services as opposed to smaller governments that provide fewer services.

Political scientists have documented how mass immigration helps Democratic politicians. As University of Maryland’s James Gimpel noted: “the enormous flow of legal immigrants into the country — 29.5 million 1980 to 2012 — has remade and continues to remake the nation’s electorate in favor of the Democratic Party.”

Reuters has similarly reported: “Immigrants favor Democratic candidates and liberal policies by a wide margin, surveys show, and they have moved formerly competitive states like Illinois firmly into the Democratic column and could turn Republican strongholds like Georgia and Texas into battlegrounds in the years to come.”

    (8 Expanded refugee resettlement
Hillary Clinton has called for a massive expansion in Middle East migration.

As Donald Trump has observed, “Crooked Hillary wants a radical 500% increase in Syrian refugees.”

Indeed, last year Clinton called for admitting 65,000 Syrian refugees—on top of the roughly 30,000 refugees and asylees the U.S. already admits from the Middle East each year. Adding in refugees from across the Muslim world, this means that under Clinton’s plan, the U.S. would admit at least 105,000 thousand refugees from the Muslim world annually.

“I’ll work to ensure that every single refugee who seeks asylum in the United States has a fair chance to tell his or her story, this is the least we can offer people fleeing persecution and devastation,” Clinton said in December.

As Breitbart News has previously reported, below is a more detailed breakdown of Islamic migration that would occur in her first term under the minimum numbers she has put forward thus far:
    – 374,000 refugees/asylees from the Middle East during her first term, based on DHS data.

    – 420,000 refugees/asylees from the Muslim world during her first term.

    – 560,000 permanent migrants from the Middle East during her first term.

    – 730,000 permanent migrants from the Muslim world during her first term.

According to a September 2015 Rasmussen survey, only 5% of likely voters said that they wanted the U.S. to admit more than 100,000 refugees from the Middle East.

Women oppose Clinton’s plan to bring more than 100,000 refugees from the Middle East by a remarkable 21-to-1 margin, with 84 percent opposing and four percent supporting.

Democrat voters oppose Clinton’s refugee plan by a 17-to-1 margin with 87 percent opposing and five percent supporting.

Most remarkably, 85 percent of black voters oppose Clinton’s refugee agenda with less than one percent of black voters supporting her plan.

The Cloward-Piven Strategy is Alive and Well at the Border

The flood of immigrants at our borders today is neither an accident nor a surprise. It is an extension of the Cloward-Piven Strategy – the goal of which has been known for 50 years.

In a 1966 article in Nation, Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven, sociology professors at Columbia University, wrote that capitalism should be collapsed by overloading the government with financial demands that could not be met.

The strategy is to collapse the financial system. The tactic is chaos. If a crisis does not exist, create one. The more chaos the better. The solution is always couched in empathetic words like “fair,” “equal,” “humane” and “just.”

Women and children look through a box of cloths that were donated by volunteers at the Greyhound bus terminal, Thursday, May 29, 2014 in Phoenix. About 400 mostly Central American women and children caught crossing from Mexico into south Texas were flown to Arizona this weekend after border agents there ran out of space and resources. Officials then dropped hundreds of them off at Phoenix and Tucson Greyhound stations, overwhelming the stations and humanitarian groups who were trying to help. (AP Photo/Rick Scuteri)

In 1967 Cloward and Piven founded the National Welfare Rights Organization to increase the numbers of people on the welfare rolls. Through a series of sit-ins, demonstrations, picket lines and occasional rock throwing, smashed glass and broken furniture they succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. By the 1970’s there was one person on welfare in New York City for every two working in the private sector. The city declared bankruptcy in 1975.

Project Vote was formed to organize the voter’s rights movement to take up the “unfinished business” of the 1965 Voters Rights Act. ACORN and Human SERVE were formed to expand on the work of the National Welfare Rights Organization.

Those three organizations began lobbying for the Motor-Voter law to swamp our voter rolls with names that would never vote, but whose names would be on the rolls so others could vote in their stead. When President Bill Clinton signed the bill in 1993 Cloward and Piven were standing behind him.

ACORN is the most prominent of the organizations formed by Cloward and Piven. President Barack Obama was ACORN’s lawyer. They have received millions of dollars from the federal government and charitable organizations for working on the census, voter registration, affordable housing and other organizing efforts.

ACORN’s biggest success was in lobbying for the expansion of housing on behalf of the poor. The financial collapse of 2008 can be traced to government decisions. The Community Reinvestment Act of 1979 required banks to make loans in poor neighborhoods. Under pressure from the Clinton White House in 1999, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lowered their credit standards on mortgages. Proposals by the Bush Administration to put Fannie and Freddie under closer supervision were opposed by Democrats in Congress.

A U.S. Border Patrol canine team stands nearby after they helped detain a group of undocumented immigrants near the U.S.-Mexico border on April 11, 2013 near Mission, Texas. Agents say they have also seen an additional surge in immigrant traffic since immigration reform negotiations began this year in Washington D.C. Proposed reforms could provide a path to citizenship for many of the estimated 11 million undocumented workers living in the United States. Credit: Getty Images

In response to the chaos created by the financial meltdown, $2 trillion was spent saving Wall Street from their own bad decisions, covering the salaries of public union employees and expanding welfare and unemployment benefits. The shovel ready jobs that were promised are still undone so the Left demands more spending.

After dozens of ACORN employees were indicted on charges of voter fraud, their funding dried up and they were disbanded.

Today, in keeping with the Cloward-Piven Strategy, a new crisis is being manufactured by President Obama. There is chaos at the Southern border.

Two years ago the president stopped deportation efforts of young immigrants who came to the country illegally. We have had active programs in Mexico informing those who come to our country how to apply for food stamps. The welcoming word is out regarding illegal entry also.

The New York Times reported last week that an illegal immigrant youth said: “If you make it, they take you to a shelter and take care of you.”

A mother with her child told Channel 5 News that the message being disseminated in their country is, “go to America with your child, you won’t be turned away.”

Central American immigrants ride north on top of a freight train on August 6, 2013 near Juchitan, Mexico. Thousands of Central American migrants ride the trains, known as ‘la bestia’, or the beast, during their long and perilous journey through Mexico to reach the U.S. border. Some of the immigrants are robbed and assaulted by gangs who control the train tops, while others fall asleep and tumble down, losing limbs or perishing under the wheels of the trains. Only a fraction of the immigrants who start the journey in Central America will traverse Mexico completely unscathed – and all this before illegally entering the United States and facing the considerable U.S. border security apparatus designed to track, detain and deport them. Credit: Getty Images

Children are crossing the border in astonishing numbers and an additional 230,000 children are expected over the next 24 months. Border officials fear that this is just the tip of the iceberg.

The federal government is shipping illegal families to Phoenix from Texas by the planeload and illegals from Central America are being bussed from the Mexican border to Phoenix and released on the street corners. They will all overload our health care system, our welfare rolls and our schools.

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) said that the administration is committed to escalating lawlessness at the border.

President Obama has called it “an urgent humanitarian situation.” Attorney General Holder said that amnesty is a civil right and has initiated a program to hire an additional 100 attorneys to represent these children in the immigration process.

Richard Cloward has died. His partner and wife, Francis Fox Piven, serves as the honorary chairman of the Democratic Socialists of America. The Cloward-Piven Strategy is alive and well in the care of President Obama who is superintending the chaos on the border.

He took office promising to transform America. This will do it.

U.S. Department of Justice gave $342,168,401 in grant money to 10 “sanctuary” states and cities that shield illegal aliens

The conservative legal group Judicial Watch has uncovered yet another government scandal. In a new report, the team has found that the Department of Justice has funneled millions of dollars to America’s sanctuary cities – localities that house illegal immigrants.

The U.S. Department of Justice gave $342,168,401 in grant money to 10 “sanctuary” states and cities that shield illegal aliens, even violent ones, from deportation by refusing to cooperate with federal immigration officials, according to a Judicial Watch report.

Anyone who is familiar with Kate Steinle should be incensed by this report. Steinle, a 32-year-old woman, was murdered by an illegal immigrant last summer in the sanctuary city of San Francisco. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement had requested to detain the killer, who had been deported five times previously, but were denied after he was sent to a detention center in the sanctuary city.

Leaked Docs: Soros Aims to Enlarge Electorate by 10 Million Voters by 2018

Soros has bankrolled efforts to challenge voter ID laws, register minority voters

A top priority of liberal billionaire George Soros is to enlarge the U.S. electorate by 10 million voters by 2018, according to leaked documents.

The plan to grow the electorate by millions of voters was discussed during a May 2014 board meeting of the Open Society Foundations, a liberal grant-making group founded by Soros. A 220-page guide detailing the plan was among more than 2,500 hacked Soros documents released by DC Leaks, which publishes documents from influential officials around the world.

The guide covers strategies and tactics the group will employ in the United States from 2015 to 2018. The top goals listed by the guide are to “advance electoral reform” and “combat suppression.”

“The following four goals form the scaffolding of U.S. Programs’ work,” the guide states. “1. An American democracy strengthened through increased meaningful participation, inclusive practice, and accountability.” The third strategic goal expands upon this, calling for “Full political, economic, and civic participation of immigrants and communities of color by dismantling the barriers and strengthening the conduits to opportunity.”

Later, the guide discusses expanding the electorate by “at least 10 million voters” in the United States. This would be accomplished “by lowering barriers to voter registration through the various forms of modernization and increased ballot access while sustaining and expanding the franchise by establishing strong protections against vote suppression, denial and dilution.”

An Open Society Foundations spokesperson affirmed the group’s interest in voter turnout.

“The Open Society Foundations supports efforts to encourage wider participation in U.S. elections, and opposes measures used to try to suppress voter participation,” the spokesperson said via email.

The leaked documents help explain why Soros has quietly funded efforts to battle voter identification laws and target Democratic-trending voters for registration.

Soros began supporting challenges to voter ID laws in 2014.

“We hope to see these unfair laws, which often disproportionately affect the most vulnerable in our society, repealed,” Soros said about the campaign in 2015. He vowed to spend at least $5 million on the effort.

The campaign’s leader is Marc Elias, a partner at the D.C-based law firm Perkins Coie and Hillary Clinton’s top campaign lawyer. Elias’ work on the legal project is separate from his work on the campaign, although Clinton supports the effort.

The first in a series of lawsuits claiming that voter ID laws disproportionately hurt minority voters was filed in Ohio just days before the Open Society documents were transmitted to the board of directors in May 2014.

Elias filed the Ohio lawsuit on behalf of a group called the Ohio Organizing Collaborative. That group was later replaced on the lawsuit when it was investigated by a state criminal agency for allegedly forging signatures and registering dead people to vote.

Weeks after the Ohio lawsuit was filed, a second lawsuit was filed challenging Wisconsin’s voter ID laws. A third lawsuit was filed in Virginia soon afterward, a challenge Soros and Elias would ultimately lose. Lawsuits in other states followed.

Soros has also funded recent voter registration campaigns from his own bank
    account.

Soros donated $3 million to the Immigrant Voters Win PAC, which was established to fund the Families Fight Back campaign. That campaign aims to register 400,000 Hispanic voters in swing states before the November elections.

    J. Christian Adams, president of the Public Interest Legal Foundation, a nonprofit law firm that litigates to defend election integrity, said that Soros is spending big to transform American elections.

“George Soros is involved in every aspect of manipulating the rules of American elections,” Adams told the Washington Free Beacon. “From funding Pew’s efforts to centralize election administration, to fueling litigation that attacks election integrity laws, to fanning the flames of racial agitation and polarization, Soros dollars are doing all they can to fundamentally transform American elections.”

Soros needs to "move on". He's a megalomaniac who's meddling with the fabric of our country. No person should have that kind of power, specially not a non-citizen and even more specifically, if they aren't elected.
"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat."

Transcripts: agendas of MEChA, La Raza, MALDEF, and Southwest Voter Registration Projects

These are transcripts of live, recorded statements by elected U.S. politicians, college professors, and pro-illegal alien activists whose objective is to take control of our country "by vote if possible and violence if necessary!"

    http://www.theamericanresistance.com...nda_audio.html

    1. Armando Navarro, Prof. Ethnic Studies, UC Riverside at Latino Summit Response to Prop 187, UC Riverside, 1/1995

"These are the critical years for us as a Latino community. We're in a state of transition. And that transformation is called 'the browning of America'. Latinos are now becoming the majority. Because I know that time and history is on the side of the Chicano/Latino community. It is changing in the future and in the present the balance of power of this nation. It's a game - it's a game of power - who controls it. You (to MEChA students) are like the generals that command armies. We're in a state of war. This Proposition 187 is a declaration of war against the Latino/Chicano community of this country. They know the demographics. They know that history and time is on our side. As one community, as one people, as one nation within a nation as the community that we are, the Chicano/Latino community of this nation. What this means is a transfer of power. It means control."

(In 2002, Armando Navarro also said: "A secessionist movement is not something that you can put away and say it is never going to happen in the United States. Time and history change.")

    2. Art Torres, former CA state senator, currently Chair of California Democrat Party at UC Riverside 1/1995

"Que viva la causa! It is an honor to be with the new leadership of the Americas, here meeting at UC Riverside. So with 187 on the ballot, what is it going to take for our people to vote - to see us walking into the gas ovens? It is electoral power that is going to make the determination of where we go as a community. And power is not given to you -- you have to take it. Remember: 187 is the last gasp of white America in California. Understand that. And people say to me on the Senate floor when I was in the Senate, 'Why do you fight so hard for affirmative action programs?' And I tell my white colleagues, 'because you're going to need them.'"

    3. Jose Angel Gutierrez, Prof. Univ. Texas at Arlington, founder La Raza Unida Party at UC Riverside 1/1995

"The border remains a military zone. We remain a hunted people. Now you think you have a destiny to fulfill in the land that historically has been ours for forty thousand years. And we're a new Mestizo nation. And they want us to discuss civil rights. Civil rights. What law made by white men to oppress all of us of color, female and male. This is our homeland. We cannot - we will not- and we must not be made illegal in our own homeland. We are not immigrants that came from another country to another country. We are migrants, free to travel the length and breadth of the Americas because we belong here. We are millions. We just have to survive. We have an aging white America. They are not making babies. They are dying. It's a matter of time. The explosion is in our population."

    4. Bill Richardson, New Mexico Governor, former U.S. Congressman, U.N. Ambassador, U.S. Secretary of Energy interviewed on radio Latino USA responding to Congressional Immigration Reform legislation in 1996

"There are changing political times where our basic foundations and programs are being attacked, illegal and legal immigration are being unfairly attacked. We have to band together, and that means Latinos in Florida, Cuban-Americans, Mexican-Americans, Puerto Ricans, South Americans, we have to network better - we have to be more politically minded, we have to put aside party and think of ourselves as Latinos, as Hispanics more than we have in the past."

    5. Mario Obledo, founding member/former national director of Mexican-American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF), former CA Secretary Health/Welfare on Tom Leikus radio talk show

"We're going to take over all the political institutions in California. In five years the Hispanics are going to be the majority population of this state." Caller: "You also made the statement that California is going to become a Hispanic state and if anyone doesn't like it they should leave - did you say that?" Obledo: "I did. They ought to go back to Europe."

    6. Mario Obledo

CCIR commentary on Mario Obledo: When CCIR, the California Coalition for Immigration Reform, erected a billboard on the California/Arizona border reading, "WELCOME TO CALIFORNIA, THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION STATE", Mario Obledo, infuriated, went to the billboard location and threatened to blow it up or burn it down. Even after this threat to deny American citizens their freedom of speech, President Clinton awarded Obledo the Presidential Medal of Freedom, America's highest civilian honor. CCIR question to Obledo: "Jose Angel Gutierrez said, 'We have an aging white America, they are dying, I love it.' How would you translate that statement?" Obledo: "He's a good friend of mine. A very smart person."

    7. Richard Alatorre, former Los Angeles City Councilman at Latino Summit conference in Los Angeles opposing CA Prop. 209 ending affirmative action in 9/1996

"Because our numbers are growing, they're afraid about this great mass of minorities that now live in our community. They're afraid that we're going to take over the governmental institutions and other institutions. They are right, we will take them over, and we are not going to go away - we are here to stay, and we are saying 'ya basta' (enough!) and we are going to turn... and de... not elect or re-elect people that believe that they are going to advance their political careers on the backs of immigrants and the backs of minorities."

    8. Joe Baca, former CA Assembly member, currently member of Congress at Latino Summit Response to Prop 187 UC Riverside 1/1995 and Southwest Voter Registration Project annual conference in Los Angeles, 6/1996

"We need more Latinos out there. We must stand up and be counted. We must be together, We must be united. Because if we're not united you know what's going to happen? We're like sticks - we're broken to pieces. Divided we're not together. But as a unit they can't break us. So we've got to come together, and if we're united, si se puede (it can be done) and we will make the changes that are necessary. But we've got to do it. We've got to stand together, and dammit, don't let them divide us because that's what they want to do, is to divide us. And once we're divided we're conquered. But when we look out at the audience and we see, you know, la familia, La Raza (the family, our race), you know, it's a great feeling, isn't it a good feeling? And you know, I started to think about that and it reminded me of a book that we all read and we all heard about, you know, Paul Revere, and when he was saying, 'The British are coming, the British are coming!' Well, the Latinos are coming, the Latinos are coming! And the Latinos are going to vote. So our voices will be heard. So that's what this agenda is about. It's about insuring that we increase our numbers. That we increase our numbers at every level. We talk about the Congressional, we talk about the Senate, we talk about board of supervisors, board of education, city councils, commissions, we have got to increase out numbers because the Latinos are coming. Because what's going on right now, with 187, the CCRI (CA Civil Rights Initiative against affirmative action), and let me tell you, we can't go back, you know, we're in a civil war. But we need to be solidified, we need to come together, we must be strong, because united we form a strong body. United we become solidified, united we make a difference, united we make the changes, united Latinos will win throughout California, let's stick together, que si se puede, que no? (it can be done, right?)

    9. Antonio Villaraigosa, Chair of MEChA (student wing of Aztlan movement) at UCLA, former CA assemblymember, former CA Assembly speaker, currently Los Angeles City Councilman at Southwest Voter Registration Project Conference in Los Angeles, 6/1997

"Part of today's reality has been propositions like 187 (to deny public benefits to illegal aliens, 1994), propositions like 209 (to abolish affirmative action, 1996), the welfare reform bill, which targeted legal immigrants and targeted us as a community. That's been the midnight. We know that the sunny side of midnight has been the election of a Latino speaker - was the election of Loretta Sanchez, against an arch-conservative, reactionary hate-mongering politician like Congressman Dornan! Today in California in the legislature, we're engaged in a great debate, where not only were we talking about denying education to the children of undocumented workers, but now we're talking about whether or not we should provide prenatal care to undocumented mothers. It's not enough to elect Latino leadership. If they're supporting legislation that denies the undocumented driver's licenses, they don't belong in office, friends. They don't belong here. If they can't stand up and say, 'You know what? I'm not ever going to support a policy that denies prenatal care to the children of undocumented mothers', they don't belong here."

    10. Gloria Molina, one of the five in Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors at Southwest Voter Registration Project Conference, 6/1996

"This community is no longer going to stand for it. Because tonight we are organizing across this country in a single mission, in a plan. We are going to organize like we've never organized before. We are going to go into our neighborhoods. We are going to register voters. We are going to talk to all of those young people that need to become registered voters and go out to vote and we're are politicizing every single one of those new citizens that are becoming citizens of this country. And what we are saying is by November we will have one million additional Latino voters in this country, and we're gonna march, and our vote is going to be important. But I gotta tell you, there's a lot of people that are saying, 'I'm gonna go out there and vote because I want to pay them back!' And this November we are going to remember those that stood with us and we are also going to remember those that have stood against us on the issues of immigration, on the issues of education, on the issues of health care, on the issues of the minimum wage."

    11. Vicky Castro, former member of Los Angeles Board of Education at Southwest Voter Registration Project Conference, 6/1996

"Que viva la raza, que viva la raza (long live our race)! I'm here to welcome all the new voters of 18 years old that we're registering now in our schools. Welcome, you're going to make a difference for Los Angeles, for San Antonio, for New York, and I thank Southwest for taking that challenge. And to the Mechistas (MEChA students) across this nation, you're going to make that difference for us, too. But when we register one more million voters I will not be the only Latina on the Board of Education of Los Angeles. And let me tell you here, no one will dismantle bilingual education in the United States of America. No one will deny an education to any child, especially Latino children. As you know, in Los Angeles we make up 70% of this school district. Of 600,000 -- 400,000 are Latinos, and our parents are not heard and they're going to be heard because in Los Angeles, San Antonio and Texas we have just classified 53,000 new citizens in one year that are going to be felt in November!"

    12. Ruben Zacarias, former superintendent of Los Angeles Unified School District at Southwest Voter Registration Project Conference, 6/1997

"We have 27 centers now throughout LAUSD. Every one of them has trained people, clerks to take the fingerprints. Each one has the camera, that special camera. We have the application forms. And I'll tell you what we've done with I.N.S. Now we're even doing the testing that usually people had to go to INS to take, and pretty soon, hopefully, we'll do the final interviews in our schools. Incidentally, I started this very quietly because there are those that if they knew that we were creating a whole new cadre of brand new citizens it would have tremendous political impact. We will change the political panorama not only of L.A., but L.A. County and the State. And we do that we've changed the panorama of the nation. I'm proud to stand here and tell you that in those close to three years we have processed a little over 78,000 brand new citizens. That is the largest citizenship program in the entire nation."

    13. Ernesto Zedillo, former president of Mexico announcing the Mexican constitutional amendment allowing for dual citizenship on 6/23/97

"I have proudly affirmed that the Mexican national extends beyond the territory enclosed by its borders, and that Mexican migrants are an important - a very important part of it. For that reason my government proposed a constitutional amendment to allow any Mexican with the right as he desires to acquire another nationality to do so without being forced to first give up his or her Mexican nationality. Fortunately, the amendment was passed almost unanimously by our federal Congress and is now part of our constitution. I am also here today to tell you that we want you to take pride in what each and every one of your Mexican brothers and sisters are doing back home.

    14. Augustin Cebada, Information Minister of Brown Berets, militant para-military soldiers of Aztlan shouting at U.S. citizens at an Independence Day rally in Los Angeles, 7/4/96

"Augustin Cebada, Brown Berets, we're here today to show L.A., show the minority people here, the Anglo-Saxons, that we are here, the majority, we're here to stay. We do the work in this city, we take care of the spoiled brat children, we clean their offices, we pick the food, we do the manufacturing in the factories of L.A., we are the majority here and we are not going to be pushed around. We're here in Westwood, this is the fourth time we've been here in the last two months, to show white Anglo-Saxon Protestant L.A., the few of you who remain, that we are the majority, and we claim this land as ours, it's always been ours, and we're still here, and none of the talk about deporting. If anyone's going to be deported it's going to be you! Go back to Simi Valley, you skunks! Go back to Woodland Hills! Go back to Boston! To back to the Plymouth Rock, Pilgrims! Get out! We are the future. You're old and tired. Go on. We have beaten you, leave like beaten rats. You old white people, it is your duty to die. Even their own ethicists say that they should die, that they have a duty to die. They're taking up too much space, too much air. We are the majority in L.A. There's over seven million Mexicans in L.A. County alone. We are the majority. And you're going to see every day more and more of it, as we manifest as our young people grow up, graduate from high school, go on to college and start taking over this society. The vast majority of our people are under the age of 15 years old. Right now we're already controlling those elections, whether it's by violence or nonviolence. Through love of having children we're going to take over." Other demonstrators: "Raza fuerza (brown race power), this is Aztlan, this is Mexico. They're the pilgrims on our land. Go back to the Nina, the Pinta, the Santa Maria."

    15. Fabian Nunez, formerly Alliance for Immigrant Rights, political liaison for L.A. School District, currently Speaker of the CA Assembly at Latino Summit Response to Prop 187 at UC Riverside, 1/1995

"There's only two forms of power in this country and in this world. One is economic power, We certainly don't have the economic power because we don't own the means of production, but there's another form of power, and that's the power of the masses. So you can be as revolutionary as you want, you can be Chicano nationalist, you can be Mexican-American, you can be Hispanic, you can believe in the concept of Aztlan, you can believe in the concept of multi-culturalism. Somebody can say 'Everybody here is wrong, I am the only one that has reached revolutionary completeness'. But the bottom line is that if we do not mobilize our community we are not putting together a setting - the parameters to establish a massive movement in our community. That's what this is about. And that's why I am here today - to talk about who here wants to organize the masses, and who here is interested in developing that movement that somebody earlier said that the sleeping giant is in a coma. I'll tell you that on October 16 ("Grande Marcha" against Prop. 187) 150,000 representatives from the sleeping giant were not in a coma but rather were marching down the streets of Los Angeles saying that enough is enough and we're no longer going to tolerate the racism against our community. The very essence of the dignity of our community is in danger right now. Luckily, we don't have to give our lives. We're not at that point, but we can give a little. What I would like to ask everybody here to give is not necessarily your life, but to give one moment of thought to what the importance of a national march on Washington DC in 1996 would mean for the mass movement of our community. Get ten people, ten people ready to go with us to that march to Washington DC in '96, and I guarantee you, just as we mobilized 150 (sic) people into the streets of Los Angeles on October 16, we can mobilize one million people and bring Washington to a standstill, and those rednecks that are out there making decisions for the betterment of their communities will think twice before they push forward anti-immigrant legislation against our community. And so that we can show our people that the time has come for us to come together on what brings us together instead of to sit down and bump heads. And I tell the students in the colleges, if you're still debating the question of whether they're Chicanos or Mexicanos, or Chicano/Mexicano, we're not learning from the lessons of ten, fifteen years ago. The time has come for unity - there's too many things that separate people, but we have to begin to look at what brings us together. And so I ask everybody here, how many of you agree if we can leave here with one thing today, that in 1996 we are going to Washington DC on a mass mobilization there to bring Washington to a standstill so that they know that we're there and that we begin to put into place those things that are necessary to insure that we advance the interests of our community. Raise your hands, those of you that agree with what I'm saying."

    16. Larry Elder, L.A. radio talk show host reads a letter from one of his listeners:

"Dear Larry, I spent ten years as a cruise hostess working at sea on cruise ships all over the world, so many of my assignments were to the Mexican Riviera, going back to the destination over and over again working friendships with many of the local people working along side of us in the Mexican tourist industry. Larry, the one phrase I heard a hundred times or more was, 'When the revolution is over.' When I asked for information, always the same answer, 'When they have California back.' Young or old, it seems they grew up being taught there would be a revolution some day. Somehow they would have California back."

    17. Tom Tancredo, U.S. Congressman from Colorado,, speaking on CSPAN, 6/27/2001

"In the June 21 issue of Time Magazine, the lead story of which is titled, "AMEXICO". It describes the de facto elimination of the border between Mexico and the United States. I believe that the debate revolving around our immigration policy should reflect the fact that this phenomenon is underway. President Fox (of Mexico) yesterday stated that he came to the United States to "play a more active role in establishing the new international architecture". I believe that this new "international architecture" can be described as AMEXICO.

    18. Gray Davis, former governor of California, recalled by the voters 10/2003, speaking to a Latino audience in 1999

"In the near future, people will look at California and Mexico as one magnificent region."

    19. MEChA (student wing of the Aztlan movement) - motto: "For the race, everything, for those outside the race, nothing." - Chants at national conference, Cal State Univ., Northridge, 6/1996

"Viva la raza (long live our race)", "Chicano power" "We didn't cross the border, the border crossed us" "Long live the revolution" "Esta es mi tierra, esta es mi lucha (This is my land, this is my fight)."

Being White, and a Minority, in Georgia

A pedestrian walked in front of a used car lot that is flying both the Mexican and American flags along Buford Highway in Norcross, Ga., late last month.

John Amis for The Boston Globe

By Annie Linskey Globe Staff September 10, 2016

NORCROSS, Ga. — One of the clearest signs of how times have changed in this little Southern town is literally a sign. It’s the outline of a faded red, oblong Dairy Queen sign that towers over Buford Highway just a few miles from the city line.

It used to direct residents to a fast food franchise, a beacon of Americana, where a hamburger cost 79 cents. The building is gone now. Only the sign remains, and at its base is a Hispanic man with a machete, slicing open coconuts piled in the back of his trailer.

His English is shaky. His coconuts cost $4.

A generation ago, this Atlanta suburb was 95 percent white and rural with one little African-American neighborhood that was known as “colored town.’’ But after a tidal wave of Hispanic and Asian immigrants who were attracted to Norcross by cheap housing and proximity to a booming job market, white people now make up less than 20 percent of the population in Norcross and surrounding neighborhoods. It’s a shift so rapid that many of the longtime residents feel utterly disconnected from the place where they raised their children.

“It’s not that much anger, but you don’t feel comfortable knowing that all this is around you,” said Billy Weathers, 79, who has lived in the area for his whole life and doesn’t speak a lick of Spanish.

Many say they feel isolated in their own hometown, pushed to change their ways, to assimilate to the new arrivals instead of the other way around. They resent the shift, even knowing it’s nobody’s fault, really. And they have mostly kept their feelings to themselves. Who, they wonder, would listen to folks like us, anyway?

But this year, in Norcross and places like it, resentment has found its voice. The concerns of a white citizenry feeling displaced have been reinforced by the rhetoric of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, who swept most of the state in the Republican primary.

Roberto Gonzalez, of Mexico, gets a a newspaper out of boxes catering to the Hispanic community as his wife Cecilia, watched late last month in Norcross, Ga.

    John Amis/AP

His slogan, “Make America Great Again,” appeals to people here who don’t talk much to their newer neighbors anymore, not out of malice but because they often don’t even share a common language. When Trump talks about building a wall between the United States and Mexico, these largely white, Republicans nod in agreement.

“There used to be a place where we could go out to eat to get southern cooking,” said Billy’s wife, JoAnn Weathers, 79. “Well there’s no more southerners left here. . . . They came from other countries and completely changed our lives.”

It’s an attitude that many in the elites of both parties are quick to dismiss as out-of-date, wrongheaded, and frankly kind of embarrassing. It sounds like racial prejudice, and sometimes is. But to simply ignore or belittle this sense of loss and isolation is to close your eyes and ears to nativist sentiments that predated Trump’s rise, and even if he loses, aren’t going away. The demographic tide all but guarantees it.

The number of Hispanics in Georgia nearly doubled from 2000 to 2010, bringing their total to roughly 9 percent of the state’s population. That’s still a smaller proportion than in the nation, where the Hispanic population reached a record 55 million in 2014 — 17.4 percent of the country’s overall population, according to Census data.

But in this part of Georgia, the pace of change has been breathtaking.

Here, Hispanics are concentrated in places like Norcross, a small city outside Atlanta where a hot economy led to abundant jobs in building, hotel, and landscaping industries.

Those jobs attracted job-seekers of all ethnicities. And to accommodate all this growth, Greater Atlanta needed to build. The metro area led the country in building permits issued each year from 1994 and 2005, according to data from the Atlanta Regional Commission.

Odilon Rodriguez, of Mexico, is pictured late last month at the coconut stand at which he works alongside Buford Highway, in the vacant parking lot of a one time Dairy Queen, turned cafe, and which is now torn down.

Odilon Rodriguez, of Mexico, is pictured late last month at the coconut stand at which he works alongside Buford Highway, in the vacant parking lot of a one time Dairy Queen, turned cafe, and which is now torn down.

Norcross, once a sleepy bedroom community of about 3,000 people living on winding roads, attracted waves upon waves of these newcomers.

Part of the attraction was the cheap housing. Part of it was the easy access to interstate highways and the jobs in Atlanta. But also, once the area had a beachhead of immigrants, more came to live near family or acquaintances, according to Mary Odem, an associate professor at Emory University who has studied the immigrant influx in Georgia.

Now roughly 16,000 people live within the Norcross city limits, and about 40 percent are Hispanic. In 1980, only 23 people in the city were foreign-born.

This kind of population change, if sustained throughout the Atlanta area, will vastly improve the odds of Democrats running for office in Georgia. Already it’s the reason why Hillary Clinton is roughly even with Trump in the polls here, a phenomenon that prompted her campaign to spend valuable resources running TV ads in a deep red state that has gone Democrat in a presidential election just once in the last 3½ decades.

But the other side is a deep backlash to immigration, an adamant outlook that has taken hold here as in other parts of the country.

Four counties in Georgia signed up for a program that allows local police and sheriffs to check the immigration status of any person charged with a crime, including Gwinnett County, where Norcross is located. Those four places deported more than 1,300 illegal immigrants using the program in the last year, according to federal statistics.

The Georgia General Assembly in 2011 passed a far-reaching law aimed at making conditions inhospitable to undocumented immigrants, with provisions that barred them from using state services and made it easier for more local law enforcement to cooperate with federal immigration officials.

“I want to take care of our people. I don’t want to take care of Mexico’s people who are here illegally,” said state Senator Renee Unterman, whose district is close to Norcross, during the contentious legislative debate. “I’m not spewing hate. I’m just talking about reality.”

Trump won all but four of Georgia’s 159 counties in the March Republican primary on his platform of sealing the border and deporting undocumented immigrants. His margins were high in the Norcross area, especially in the older neighborhoods that have seen an influx of immigrants.

Grady (Billy) Weathers and wife Joann are pictured in their Norcross home which they built and have lived in for over 45 years.

“Most of the white people who are here have been here for 20 years,” explained James Bell, 64, speaking to a reporter outside a Kroger grocery store. “They have seen the neighborhood change and a lot of them are angry about it.”

Bell, like many others interviewed, said he distinguishes between immigrants who are making an effort to fit into the existing culture and those who he thinks aren’t trying to assimilate. The Vietnamese and the Koreans, he said, are at least keeping to themselves.

“The Latinos just throw it in your face. They’re here for the money. They don’t want to be American,” Bell said. “They don’t care about America.”

He listed big changes that he’s noticed: More renters in the neighborhood who seem to him to care little about the upkeep of their property, single-family houses that he says are filled with multiple families, garbage bins overflowing and litter in the streets.

There are also the subtler things that get under his skin.

“You can see them at the Kroger customer service center desk,” he said, saying that many of his neighbors line up there to send money home to Mexico. It’s a flow of cash leaving this little community, not building it.

And there’s another annoyance, the kind of thing that isn’t a big deal but grates at him. “That’s why there’s always a huge line at the service desk,” Bell said. “If you want to buy a lottery ticket, good luck.”

    ***

Norcross refers to both a compact incorporated town about 20 miles to the northeast of Atlanta and to a general swath in the southwestern portion of Gwinnett County. Old-time residents recall it as a rural outpost where upper-class Atlanta families would retreat to on summer weekends. They reminisce about when what has become Jimmy Carter Boulevard, a major thoroughfare, was just a dirt track.

There’s still a historic downtown, but with a gastropub now and a specialty olive oil store. New town houses are springing up. But a sprawl of warehouses and a seemingly unsustainable number of used car lots surrounds the city center. Sixty-five percent of Norcross is zoned for business use. It’s not unusual to have a residential cul-de-sac abutting industrial land. Most of the shopping is in strip malls dominated by businesses catering to the immigrant population.

One of these strip malls, smack in the middle of a neighborhood that had a high turnout for Trump, is anchored by an El Sol Supermarket. Pinatas hang from the ceiling and you can buy a bus ticket straight to Mexico. A few doors down, El Leon Insurance offers “total help,” defined to include “Inmigracion, Divorcios and Accidentes De Auto.”

    ***

The prevalence of Spanish signs and discourse can be a flashpoint for hostility between the longtime residents and the newer ones.

Pablo Casas moved to the town in November 1999 shortly after coming to the United States from Colombia on a student visa. “I don’t know if you’re familiar with the Hispanic culture, but we’re kind of loud,” he said.

When he gets together with friends, six or seven of them, the volume goes way up.

And white people will complain, he said, but not about the noise.

“They don’t say ‘Keep it down.’ They say ‘Speak English; this is America,’” he said.

He’s worked for a few years in Norcross in an information technology business. There, he said, his boss would threaten to charge him and his colleagues 25 cents every time they spoke Spanish to each other.

“I didn’t take it badly,” Casas said, adding it felt more like gentle prodding than a threat.

Sometimes he feels the sting of discrimination — more when he’s working his second job overseeing a construction business that he owns.

Casas, however, can empathize with some of the longtime Norcross residents.

He left the Norcross area because of the same problems that those who remain confront. “To be honest with you, the area doesn’t look that good,” he said. “Not to talk bad about my fellow immigrants, but a lot of them didn’t have the same mind-set that we have to make a home here.”

Despite their burgeoning numbers, Hispanics aren’t represented in top jobs on the Board of Education or County Commission. And that’s made this area a target for Latino activists who filed a voting rights lawsuit last month alleging that district boundaries are drawn to minimize the voting power of Hispanics, blacks, and Asians. Blacks make up about 20 percent of Norcross’ population.

Jose Perez tried to win office in 2010, seeking a seat that would represent Norcross on the County Commission — he lost in part because of a whispering campaign that he was an illegal immigrant. He was born in Cuba, but immigrated legally.

“That fear was there,” he said. “I didn’t do a good enough job introducing myself.”

    ***

Some longtime residents have turned to state and county officials to change zoning and housing laws in a bid to preserve the old ways.

A leader in this effort is Faye McFarland, who cleans homes for a living and keeps a US flag flying near her front door.

The 70-year old recalled living in Germany when her husband was in the Army. None of the Germans catered to her wants and ways then, and she doesn’t see why she’s expected to do so now.

Her main complaint came when a Guatemalan family moved into a tiny ranch house next door. She said she counted 15 people living there. But what really set her off was that the family seemed to be running a siding and roofing business out of the home. About a dozen cars would be parked outside and supplies would be piled up, an eyesore in a residential neighborhood.

She felt like she was living next to a warehouse, and at night there would be work trucks parked on the lawn. Her new neighbors, she said, would simply pay fines for violating the zoning law but didn’t change the way they were living.

“My quality of life was absolutely destroyed with all those folks and all of those vehicles,” McFarland recalled.

She began going to City Council meetings. Armed with photographs and persistence, she’d make her case over and over. “We would put up the pictures and say, ‘This is what I have to live beside,’ ” McFarland said.

The council finally passed an ordinance: Now only up to four cars can be parked on a driveway of a house in Norcross. Additional vehicles need a permit from the city.

Norcross Mayor Bucky Johnson said the ordinance has worked. “We had people parking all over the place,” he said. “We don’t have that situation anymore.”

And McFarland’s neighbors, perhaps tired of her calling various law and code enforcement agencies all the time, packed up and moved out.

“We have fought for this neighborhood,” McFarland says. “We have really had to fight.”

    ***

Fighting isn’t what you want to do when you’re pushing 80 years old. The Weathers family, who live across town, are more resigned to the changes in their neighborhood and don’t feel they can do much.

They used to know everybody on Light Circle, their little cul-de-sac. Now they only know a few families; they call themselves the “holdouts.”

“Every time somebody moves, most of the time, a foreigner bought their house,” said Billy Weathers, 79.

That includes a home up the street from theirs, purchased by a Hispanic family. It’s become a hub of sorts for an extended family that, to the Weathers’s taste, pays insufficient respect to property lines. From time to time they’ve seen people picking berries from their muscadine vines without permission.

“I have no idea how many people are there,” said JoAnn Weathers. “There’s a bunch of them there.”

She doesn’t like the attitude she observes from the newcomers: “Sometimes it seems they come in demanding things instead of being grateful,” she said.

Norcross changed its zoning laws to address concerns about crowding. Occupancy is limited to one person per 150 square feet of total floor space, and the county has a similar rule. But the Weathers don’t call the police or code enforcement for these kinds of infractions — they say it doesn’t seem like the right thing to do.

Instead, they simmer privately with a sense of frustration and futility. “Our neighborhood and our little town is being run over by other people,” said Billy Weathers. “You don’t feel comfortable.”

Both supported Trump in the primary and plan to vote for him in November; their grandson Seth has done some work for the candidate in the state.

They see Trump as an ally, but this support does comes with some reservations about the flamboyant businessman. “I fully believe that Trump can be a blessing,” said JoAnn Weathers. “Scripture tells us to pray for those over us. We have to really pray hard. But it can work.”

    ***

The changing complexion of the area has contributed to a shift in local job requirements too.

Take Deena Canfield. She’s 55 years old. Single. White. She’s lived around the area for her whole life. She moved back to Norcross from a neighboring county because it’s inexpensive and she recently lost her job.

Canfield thought the largest hurdle she’d have to overcome in finding a new job was a felony conviction in the 1990s for stealing a rental car. Instead, she’s encountering a different problem.

“A lot of employers are wanting you to be bilingual, which I find offensive,” Canfield said. “This is America. Why do I need to speak a second language?”

    ***

But if you’re running a business, and want to stay in business, change is necessary.

That’s the attitude projected at the Howard Brothers, a grocery store turned hardware store that’s been selling to the Norcross population for 61 years.

“I would say first of all the Howard family is a Christian family, I mean, a Christian business,” said Andy Darnell, the store’s head of marketing. “We have values that anybody should be treated the same. It doesn’t matter who comes into our stores; we’re there to serve them.”

The older people know the business well, and the company likes to talk about customers it has had for three generations. “We had people who saw their dad buy a lawn mower from us,” Darnell said.

Now Darnell is advertising on Spanish-speaking radio stations, and putting Spanish-speaking employees on the radio. To make these newer customers feel comfortable, they now make sure there’s a Spanish-speaking salesperson at each of their five locations.

“That’s really new to us,” he said. “If we have to hire a cashier now we really think, ‘We have to hire someone who can communicate on all levels.’”

It makes sense: Some of their biggest accounts at this point are Hispanic customers.

    ***

The other option is to close down. That’s what happened to the Dairy Queen on Buford Highway.

It was first established in 1968 by a longtime resident who sold it in 1983 to a group that included Raish Momin.

“We did a tremendous kind of business there; all Americans were living there,” recalled Momin, who came here in an earlier wave of immigration from India and became a US citizen. On some Fridays more than 400 cars would pull up to the drive-through.

Then the neighborhood began changing. Koreans and Mexicans moved in. The Americans, as he called them, left.

“You could not see any customers who loved the Dairy Queen,” Momin said.

Momin, 56, said he cried the day he sold the business in 2004.

But it proved a wise decision. The customer base continued to shrink. The new owner couldn’t keep it going and finally shuttered the restaurant. It was knocked down.

Now all that’s left of the old place is the sign along Buford Highway where a new business has sprung up — a man selling coconuts for $4.

    Record 64.7 million non-English speakers in U.S.

Doubles since 1990, with Arabic fastest growing

    Published: 7 hours ago
    Leo Hohmann

Detainees sleep, watch TV in a holding cell where hundreds of mostly Central American immigrant children are processed and held at Customs and Border Protection Nogales Placement Center in Nogales, Ariz., June 18, 2014.

A new report shows explosive growth in the number of U.S. residents 5 years of age and older who speak a language other than English at home.

The report by the Center for Immigration Studies, which breaks down new Census data, shows a record number of new immigrants in the country whose primary language is not English, and the fastest growing language is Arabic.

In 2015 a record 64.7 million U.S. residents spoke a foreign language at home – up 5.2 million since 2010 and up 1.5 million in just the last year. The largest percentage increase from 2010 to 2015 was for speakers of Arabic, Hindi (an India language) and Urdu (Pakistan’s national language).

More than one in five U.S. residents now speaks a foreign language at home, according to the CIS report.

“A common language is the means by which immigrant groups communicate with each other and with the larger society,” said Steven Camarota, the center’s director of research and co-author of the new report.

President Obama has been issuing more than 130,000 green-cards per year to persons from Muslim-majority countries using various legal programs such as refugee resettlement, the visa lottery, employment-based programs and other channels.

School systems from St. Cloud, Minnesota, Wichita, Kansas, and Twin Falls, Idaho, to Amarillo, Texas, and Fargo, North Dakota, have been overwhelmed by Third World refugees over the past 10 years, forcing them to hire expensive linguistics experts and translators. The language barrier also presents new challenges to 9-1-1 emergency centers, hospitals, jails and other public institutions.

More than 15 languages are spoken in the Amarillo school system, and when you include the different dialects, the number balloons to 75, according to Mayor Paul Harpole’s testimony before the state legislature.

More than 40 languages are spoken in the Fargo school system, according to a report cited by the city council.

“Due mainly to the extremely high level of legal immigration, we may be losing one of the foundations that helps hold together a diverse society,” the report says.

“Unfortunately, too many of our policymakers give little consideration to the impact immigration levels have on assimilation.”

    View the entire report here.

    Among the findings:
    • In 2015 a record 64.7 million U.S. residents (both foreign-born and native-born) age 5 and older spoke a language other than English at home.

    • The largest percentage increases 2010 to 2015 were among speakers of Arabic (up 34%), Hindi (up 33%), Urdu (up 24%), Chinese (up 19%), French Creole (up 16%), Gujarati (up 14%) and Persian (up 13%). Hindi and Guajarati are languages of India, Urdu is spoken in Pakistan, French Creole is spoken in Haiti, and Persian is the national language of Iran.

    • The largest numerical increases 2010 to 2015 were among speakers of Spanish (up 3.1 million), Chinese (up 525,000), Arabic (up 292,000), Hindi (up 203,000), Tagalog (up 163,000), French Creole (up 117,000) and Urdu (up 92,000). Tagalog is spoken in the Philippines.

    • Languages with more than a million speakers in 2015 are Spanish (40 million), Chinese (3.3 million), Tagalog (1.7 million), Vietnamese (1.5 million), French (1.3 million), Arabic (1.2 million) and Korean (1.1 million).

    • Although all the data has not been released for 2015, what has been released indicates that nearly one in four public school students now speak a language other than English at home.

    • Many of those who speak a foreign language at home are not immigrants. Half of the growth in foreign language speakers since 2010 is among those born in the United States.

    • Of those who speak a foreign language at home, 26 million (40 percent) told the Census Bureau that they speak English less than very well.

Record One in Five U.S. Residents Speak a Foreign Language At Home

    Brittany M. Hughes | 5 hours ago

A record one in five people living in the United States in 2015 spoke a foreign language at home, including nearly one in four public school students, a new study shows.

Analyzing the latest data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2015 American Community Survey, the Center for Immigration studies found that a record 65 million U.S. residents speak some language other than English at home, more than double the 31.8 million people who spoke a foreign language in 1990.

CIS also noted that the 21.5 percent of current U.S. residents who speak a foreign language at home is nearly triple the number in 1980, when about 23 million residents spoke a language other than English at home.

The group found that the largest percentage increase of foreign language speakers between 2010 and 2015 was among speakers of Arabic, up 34 percent from 2010. Other foreign languages that saw a dramatic increase during that time frame include several tongues spoken across the Middle East, CIS explains:
The largest percentage increases from 2010 to 2015 were among speakers of Arabic (up 34 percent), Hindi (up 33 percent), Urdu (up 24 percent), Chinese (up 19 percent), French Creole (up 16 percent), Gujarati (up 14 percent), and Persian (up 13 percent). Hindi and Gujarati are languages of India; Urdu is spoken in Pakistan; French Creole is spoken in Haiti; and Persian is the national language of Iran.
The U.S. also added another 3.1 million individuals who speak primarily Spanish at home between 2010 and 2015, and another 525,000 who speak Chinese.

Many foreign-language speakers, particularly children, are not necessarily foreign-born, CIS noted. Roughly 44 percent of all U.S. residents who speak a foreign language at home were born here; however, about 40 percent of the total group reported that they spoke English “less than very well.”

Broken down by state, California had the highest percentage of foreign language speakers in the nation at 45 percent. In Texas, the state with the second highest foreign language percentage, 35 percent of the population spoke some language other than English.

    Are unauthorized immigrants overwhelmingly Democrats?

”The predictions about how unauthorized immigrants will vote stem from the fact that among all Latino immigrants who are eligible to vote (i.e. are U.S. citizens) many more identify as Democrats than as Republicans—54% versus 11%.”

The evidence seems to confirm two things: (1) they identify themselves as Democrats, and: (2) the vast majority ___ over 70% ___ are on the public dole receiving government cheese!

Welfare Use by Immigrant Households with Children

•Households with children with the highest welfare use rates are those headed by immigrants from the Dominican Republic (82 percent), Mexico and Guatemala (75 percent), and Ecuador (70 percent). Those with the lowest use rates are from the United Kingdom (7 percent), India (19 percent), Canada (23 percent), and Korea (25 percent).

Keep in mind Hillary Clinton's plan is to increase the importation of poverty stricken "refugees" from Islamic controlled countries by 550%. And this does not even include her plan to give legal status, work permits and voting rights to millions of foreigners who have invaded America’s borders from Mexico and Central America. This is all part of a plan to change the demographics in America so the majority of voters are dependent upon government cheese with a vested interest in voting for democrats who buy votes with free government cheese.

    JWK

American citizens are sick and tired of being made into tax slaves and forced to finance the personal economic needs of millions of foreigners who have invaded America’s borders.

Agents Accuse Feds of Covering Up Record Border Detainee Numbers for 2016 Election

EXCLUSIVE: Agents Accuse Feds of Covering Up Record Border Detainee

    Breitbart Texas/Brandon Darby

    by Brandon Darby30 Oct 20166721

A record number of illegal aliens have crossed the U.S.- Mexico border and are in U.S. Border Patrol custody in Texas’ Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV), according to the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC).

Border Patrol Agent and NBPC President Brandon Judd spoke exclusively with Breitbart Texas and condemned the leadership of the Border Patrol’s parent agency, Customs and Border Protection (CBP), for allegedly “keeping this information secret” ahead of the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

“We are at breaking point. We have the highest number of illegal aliens in custody in history in Border Patrol’s RGV Sector and this information has been kept from the American public,” said Agent Judd. “The talk of amnesty has once again created pull factors and encouraged people from all over the world to cross Mexico and then cross our porous southern border to illegally enter the U.S. We are simply overwhelmed.” (See CBP’s response below.)

Agent Judd told Breitbart Texas that Americans should vote their conscience, but they should do so with all of the information available. “This is an issue of the federal government restricting crucial information from the public ahead of a presidential election and it is unacceptable. Americans deserve to know the truth. Our Border Patrol agents deserve for Americans to know what they are really facing. Too many Border Patrol agents have given their lives and left loved ones to grieve for CBP leadership to play these types of political games ahead of such an impactful election.”

Border Patrol Agent Chris Cabrera spoke with Breitbart Texas in his capacity as vice president of the NBPC Local 3307, that represents the majority of Border Patrol agents in the RGV Sector. He said, “This isn’t surprising, considering the history of Border Patrol and CBP covering up facts and falsifying numbers.” He added, “In 2014, CBP didn’t publicize the crowded conditions in our facilities until Breitbart Texas published over forty photos depicting the reality. Only then did they properly address the crisis.”

Agent Cabrera said CBP were in fact concealing the gravity of the current border crisis. “One side in this coming election is downplaying illegal immigration and concealing this information only serves to help that agenda,” said Agent Cabrera.

Breitbart Texas reached out to the RGV Sector PIO for the Border Patrol and did not receive a response, though not much time was given to the agency. (See update below. A strong denial of the agents’ claims was issued by CBP to Breitbart Texas after publication.)

Historically, CBP, Border Patrol’s parent agency, has had to correct false assertions and denials. Perhaps the most glaring example occurred in June 2014 when an official CBP Twitter account directly accused this reporter of publishing a false report, only to later admit the report was accurate and true.

CBP has released numbers indicating near-record apprehensions; however, the assertions from the agents in the NBPC pertain to people who illegally entered the U.S. and are currently in custody in Border Patrol facilities. Agent Judd stated, “There is a significant difference between apprehension numbers and numbers in custody in our facilities.

These record numbers in custody indicate that these are people who are not voluntarily returning. This indicates that these people will, under current policy, be released into our communities and given amnesty. This record number of people currently in detention is significant because the RGV Sector is dealing with the Gulf and Los Zetas cartels. This means our agents are busy babysitting record numbers in facilities instead of patrolling the border and stopping these murderers, kidnappers, and drug smugglers.”

UPDATE: Breitbart Texas received this response from CBP:

First, the number in custody in RGV is less than half what is was in June 2014.

Also, I would refer you to Secretary Johnson’s statement about southwest border security issued October 17. In it, the Secretary addresses the specific issue of unaccompanied children and family units. The statement includes statistics for the full year of fiscal year 2016.

You can find it on DHS.gov in the press release section of the website.

The author of this article received an award from the Laredo chapter of the National Border Patrol Council for his “being a voice and staunch advocate for Border patrol agents.” Breitbart News previously covered the costs of a slain Border Patrol agent’s funeral. The National Border Patrol Council endorsed Donald Trump for President after the candidate vowed to give veteran Border Patrol agents a voice in what is needed to properly secure the U.S.-Mexico border.

New York City provides services for nearly 1mil immigrants

    By: JESSICA FORMOSO

NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - New York City is known for being a melting pot. One third of the people living in the Big Apple are immigrants.

"The reality is the city as a whole is serving illegal immigrant families every day," said Nisha Agarwal, commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs. She sat down with us to speak about the work the city is doing to help its illegal immigrant community.

"It is very important for New Yorkers to feel very connected to their city government to know the city is providing arraignments through different services and that we are open and accessible to illegal immigrants," she said.

New York City provides services for illegal immigrants

In January of 2015 Mayor Bill de Blasio launched the municipal ID program known as IDNYC, an identification card that allows New Yorkers to receive city benefits and perks no matter what their immigration status is. Agarwal said 900,000 people signed up.

In 2014 the city spent $14 million a year on illegal immigrant services, according to a city budget analysis. Today the city is spending $30 million, launching new programs like Action NYC, a free community-based legal service program. We Are New York provides English language classes and other opportunities to improve English. The city works with organizations like Make the Road New York, which helps with community outreach and with providing these services.

As for the critics who say the city shouldn't be spending tax payer money on these free programs, Agarwal said it is for the greater good of the city. She said that providing these services to illegal immigrants improves the economy, education outcomes, and the health of the city as a whole.

The Office of Immigrant Affairs doesn't do job placement. However, the services it offers, such as the free English classes, help immigrants find a job, according to officials.

Emanuel Tells Undocumented Immigrants Chicago ‘Always Will Be A Sanctuary City’

    November 14, 2016 1:55 PM

CHICAGO (CBS) — Even as President-elect Donald Trump vows to immediately deport 2 to 3 million undocumented immigrants when he takes office in January, Mayor Rahm Emanuel is reaffirming Chicago’s commitment as a so-called “sanctuary city.”

“To be clear about what Chicago is, it always will be a sanctuary city,” the mayor said Monday.

Emanuel sought to reassure those worried about Trump’s interview on “60 Minutes,” in which he said he plans to immediately deport or incarcerate up to 3 million undocumented immigrants who have criminal records.

“What we are going to do is get the people that are criminal and have criminal records, gang members, drug dealers, where a lot of these people, probably 2 million, it could be even 3 million, we are getting them out of our country or we are going to incarcerate,” Trump said in an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes” correspondent Lesley Stahl. “But we’re getting them out of our country, they’re here illegally.”

Trump also has promised to block federal funding for sanctuary cities like Chicago.

Lurie Children’s Hospital CEO Patrick Magoon called Trump’s vow a public health crisis, and said undocumented immigrants and their relatives have been making calls to suicide hotlines since the election.

“Calls, which have increased by 200 percent at the state level and 250 percent at the national level,” he said.

Congressman Luis Gutierrez said if Trump revokes President Barack Obama’s executive order shielding more than a million children of undocumented immigrants from deportation, the president-elect would be declaring war on the immigrant community.

Boston Vows To Fight Back Against Trump’s Immigration Plan

BOSTON (CBS) – The debate over so-called sanctuary cities is heating up in Massachusetts. Several cities including Boston, Cambridge and Somerville do not fully cooperate with immigration officials. And with Donald Trump’s promise to deport undocumented immigrants, defying the soon to be president could be costly.

“What we’re going to do is get the people that are criminal and have criminal records, gang members, drug dealers, where a lot of these people, probably two million, it could be even three million, we are getting them out of our country,” said President-Elect Trump on 60 Minutes giving details of his first steps.

Trump also vows to move against sanctuary cities financially, places where authorities will not detain undocumented people for the immigration service without criminal warrants. “We will cancel all federal funding to sanctuary cities,” Trump threatens.

His hardline stance is causing some sanctuary cities to push back and reaffirm their status. “Boston is a sanctuary city,” says Boston City Councilor Tito Jackson. He’s worried that undocumented residents will be afraid to go to the police for help, or even send their kids to school. “The police department, if you call them and you need help they will help you, and they will not turn you in to the Feds,” Jackson says.

Mayor Walsh appears to be staying the course as well, saying in a statement: “We are a welcoming city for all. These are Boston values and no policy will change them.”

Not everyone agrees. “It’s no secret that these criminal illegal aliens and terrorists are looking for places to go where they are least likely to be caught,” says Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson.

He says sanctuary cities are breaking federal law. “What’s really troubling about this is that any elected official in this country would suggest that there should be a certain class of people who do not have to abide by our laws,” Hodgson says.

And that’s the crux of the debate, one that is destined to grow as the new president, with a new agenda takes office.

Obama Administration Rules Workplace English is Discriminatory, but Foreign Language Demands Aren’t

    DECEMBER 01, 2016

Requiring employees in the United States to speak a foreign language is not discriminatory but forcing them to speak English violates federal law under a sweeping order issued by the Obama administration to crack down on “national origin discrimination” in the workplace. The government’s new enforcement guidelines state that bilingual requirements don’t meet discrimination claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act but English-only rules do because they’re restrictive language policies.

The administration asserts that the new rules, which cover a broad range of scenarios that could get employers in trouble, were created because the American workforce is “increasingly ethnically diverse.” The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency that enforces the nation’s workplace discrimination laws, made them public a few days ago. “The increased cultural diversity of today’s workplaces presents new and evolving issues with respect to Title VII’s protection against national origin discrimination,” the agency writes in the lengthy document. “This enforcement guidance will assist EEOC staff in their investigation of national origin discrimination charges and provide information for applicants, employees, and employers to understand their respective rights and responsibilities under Title VII.”

Two years ago, the administration laid the foundation for the new measures by suing a private American business for discriminating against Hispanic and Asian employees because they didn’t speak English on the job. The case involved a Green Bay Wisconsin metal and plastic manufacturer that fired a group of Hmong and Hispanic workers over their English skills. Forcing employees to speak English in the U.S. violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the EEOC claimed in its lawsuit. That’s because the Civil Rights Act protects employees from discrimination based on national origin, which includes the linguistic characteristics of a national origin group. Therefore, the EEOC argued, foreigners have the right to speak their native language even during work hours at an American company that requires English.

Now the agency has created official federal rules to support this absurd theory as well as other innovative discrimination categories, including “multiple protected bases.” This is a seldom recognized but potent Molotov cocktail of prejudice based on race, color and religion. As an example, the new rules mention discrimination against Middle Easterners perceived to “follow particular religious practices.” Among the amusing hypotheticals embedded in the rules is an Egyptian named Thomas who alleges he was harassed by his coworkers about his Arab ethnicity and Islam. “Thomas’ charge should assert national origin, race and religious discrimination,” the EEOC writes, referring to its new “multiple protected bases” category. The agency reassures that it will protect Middle Easterners, stating that “Title VII prohibits employment discrimination based on the perception that someone is from the Middle East or is of Arab ethnicity, regardless of how she identifies herself or whether she is, in fact, from one or more Middle Eastern countries or ethnically Arab.”

Employers that use Social Security requirements to screen applicants are warned that they may be charged with discrimination because it disproportionately eliminates individuals of a certain national origin and has a disparate impact based on national origin. That makes Social Security screens “unlawful under Title VII unless the employer establishes that the policy or practice is job related and consistent with business necessity,” the EEOC rules say. Here’s another good one involving prejudice in hiring: “Reliance on word-of-mouth recruiting may magnify existing ethnic, racial or religious homogeneity in a workplace and result in the exclusion of qualified applicants from different national origin groups,” the EEOC rules state. That would constitute a violation of federal law, the EEOC points out, because the employer’s actions have a discriminating effect based on national origin.

Under Obama the EEOC has strong-armed private businesses and government agencies into adopting the administration’s leftist agenda and inflated standards of political correctness. Last fiscal year the agency celebrated getting a record $525 million in settlements for reported victims of discrimination in both private and public sector jobs. One of the EEOC’s biggest cases involved a national clothing retailer that specializes in hip casual wear for youngsters and refused to change a rule banning head covers for employees. The agency sued the company for religious discrimination because it wouldn’t allow a Muslim woman to wear a hijab to work. In another victory, a national retailer was forced to pay $2.5 million to black job candidates that had been screened with criminal background checks. The EEOC asserts background checks have a disparate impact on African Americans and the administration has bullied companies into eliminating them.

The president also pardoned another 78 individuals, bringing his total
pardons over the course of his eight years in office to 148.

Combined, these 231 acts of clemency sets a record for
the most ever granted by a president in a single day in history.

This latest move is just further evidence of his stated intention to ramp up
commutations throughout the remainder of his presidency.

And, while the President often claims publicly that his commutations
are only for "low-level" and "non-violent" criminals, 395 of the 1,176
commutations were offered to people serving life sentences...
which typically aren't given to "low-level" criminals caught with
a couple ounces of drugs on the

Of course, in typical fashion, the President took to Twitter to brag about
    his latest "accomplishment."

    The White House @WhiteHouse
BREAKING: @POTUS has now commuted the sentences of 1,176
deserving people—more than the past 11 presidents combined.

    http://go.wh.gov/t6xujx
    2:12 PM - 19 Dec 2016

And here is the full statement from the President's White House blog released
    earlier today.

As usual, the post ends with a vow to grant even more pardons over the coming
    weeks
as Obama approaches the end of his time in the White House.

Today, President Obama granted clemency to 231 deserving
individuals — the most individual acts of clemency granted
in a single day by any president in this nation’s history.

With today’s 153 commutations, the President has now commuted
the sentences of 1,176 individuals, including 395 life sentences.
The President also granted pardons to 78 individuals, bringing
his total number of pardons to 148. Today’s acts of clemency
    — and the mercy the President has shown his 1,324 clemency
recipients — exemplify his belief that America is a nation
    of second chances.

The 231 individuals granted clemency today have all
demonstrated that they are ready to make use — or
have already made use — of a second chance.

While each clemency recipient’s story is unique, the common
thread of rehabilitation underlies all of them. For the pardon recipient,
it is the story of an individual who has led a productive and law-abiding
post-conviction life, including by contributing to the community
in a meaningful way. For the commutation recipient, it is the story
of an individual who has made the most of his or her time in prison,
by participating in educational courses, vocational training, and drug
treatment. These are the stories that demonstrate the successes
that can be achieved — by both individuals and society — in a nation
    of second chances.

Today’s grants signify the President’s continued commitment
to exercising his clemency authority through the remainder
    of his time in office.

In 2016 alone, the President has granted clemency to more than 1,000
deserving individuals. The President continues to review clemency
applications on an individualized basis to determine whether a particular
applicant has demonstrated a readiness to make use of his or her second
chance, and I expect that the President will issue more grants of both
commutations and pardons before he leaves office.

The mercy that the President has shown his 1,324 clemency recipients
is remarkable, but we must remember that clemency is a tool of last
resort and that only Congress can achieve the broader reforms needed
to ensure over the long run that our criminal justice system operates
more fairly and effectively in the service of public safety.
Generally a full list of the drug dealers that will be released back on to the streets
in the near future can be viewed on the Department of Justice website.

That said, Obama seems to be releasing criminals faster than the DOJ can update
    their site
, so you'll have to check back later for the official list.

Obama Releases 220 Illegal Alien Kids PER DAY As Border Crisis Escalates

During the month of November alone, the Obama administration sent enough border-crossing illegal alien children to live in American communities to fill up 12 Washington, D.C. middle schools.

In fact, strung out over the entire 30-day period, the Obama administration processed and turned loose an astonishing 6,623 illegal alien kids who’d recently crossed the U.S.-Mexico border unlawfully, averaging more than 220 kids per day. The administration released about 600 more kids in November than they did during the month of October, when 6,051 children were sent to live with sponsors in the U.S. pending their day in immigration court. FY2016 data reveals the vast majority of these children are teens claiming to be between 15 and 17 years of age.

The incoming flood of illegal aliens, including unaccompanied minors, ramped up during the final few months of FY2016 and into the first days of the new fiscal year, and has yet to slow down. While border agents have apprehended another 14,128 unaccompanied kids at the Mexican border between October and November, the administration’s Office of Refugee Resettlement turned loose 12,674 UACs in that same time frame.

With 10 months still to go until the end of the fiscal year, the administration has already released roughly 25 percent of the total number of unaccompanied kids set free to live in the United States last year, when a total of 52,147 children were sent to live with sponsors. If this pace continues, the number of kids caught and released into the U.S. will easily outpace any recent year including FY2014, when a new wave of juvenile border crossings caught the nation’s attention and overwhelmed border resources.

Data from the federal immigration court system shows that more than a third of these children won’t show up for their court date, including about 90 percent of those children who are ordered removed from the country. Additionally, recently released information from the Department of Health and Human Services shows the administration only conducts home studies for about six percent of the illegal alien children released, failing to follow up on the vast majority who are left to disappear into communities across the country.

California Sanctuary City Mayors Vow to Resist Trump’s Orders

Ed Lee (Eric Risberg / Associated Press)Eric Risberg / Associated Press
    by JOEL B. POLLAK
    26 Jan 2017

California’s “sanctuary city” mayors are vowing to resist President Donald Trump’s effort to make them obey immigration laws, after he signed an executive order Wednesday cutting off federal funds to “jurisdictions that willfully refuse to comply.”

Sanctuary cities and states are those that have offered shelter to illegal aliens by refusing to cooperate with federal officials in enforcing of federal immigration laws — in some cases, even refusing to turn over criminals for deportation proceedings.

President Trump promised on the campaign trail to end sanctuary cities, and Wednesday’s executive order is the first step in carrying out that pledge. It declares: “Sanctuary jurisdictions across the United States willfully violate Federal law in an attempt to shield aliens from removal from the United States. These jurisdictions have caused immeasurable harm to the American people and to the very fabric of our Republic.” The order stipulates that such jurisdictions “… are not eligible to receive Federal grants, except as deemed necessary for law enforcement purposes by the Attorney General or the Secretary [of Homeland Security].”

That has California’s sanctuary city mayors in a state of panic — and open rebellion against the new Trump administration.

In San Francisco, where Kate Steinle was infamously murdered in broad daylight in July 2015 by an illegal alien and felon with multiple convictions and deportations, Mayor Ed Lee told a press conference on Wednesday: “I am here today to say we are still a sanctuary city.” He added, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, “We stand by our sanctuary city because we want everybody to feel safe and utilize the services they deserve, including education and health care. … It is my obligation to keep our city united, keep it strong … crime doesn’t know documentation. Disease doesn’t know documentation.”

Oakland’s Mayor Libby Schaaf echoed Lee, warning that Trump’s order would “destroy trust in government” and complaining that “it’s disrespecting the American tradition of a peaceful transfer of power,” the San Jose Mercury News reported.

Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti was quoted by Southern California Public Radio’s KPCC as vowing to resist “coercion” by the Trump administration. He also said in a statement:

The idea that we do not cooperate with the federal government is simply at odds with the facts. We regularly cooperate with immigration authorities — particularly in cases that involve serious crimes — and always comply with constitutional detainer requests.

What we don’t do is ask local police officers to enforce federal immigration laws — and that’s an official LAPD policy that has been enforced for nearly 40 years. That is for everyone’s good, because trust between police and the people they serve is absolutely essential to effective law enforcement.

Garcetti also speculated that President Trump would not actually cut off federal funds to the city if it defied his order: “It would be folly for any administration to take away funds to protect America’s port. … Or take away vouchers that help get veterans who have fought for our country off the street,” he said, according to the Los Angeles Times.

San Jose Mayor Sam Riccardo, who managed to blame Trump when leftists led a violent riot against Trump supporters last June as local police stood idly by, joined the chorus of defiance. “We are not going to engage in immigration enforcement, and we are also not going to engage in conspiracies with immigration officers that are going to undermine our ability to maintain the trust and relationship that we currently enjoy with our entire community,” he said on Wednesday, according to the Mercury News.

California’s newly-installed attorney general, Xavier Becerra, was similarly defiant, declaring in one of his first press statements: “Executive orders do not change existing law. Executive orders cannot contradict existing law. And Executive orders can be challenged for violating constitutional and legal standards in their enforcement. … The California DOJ will protect the rights of all of its people from unwarranted intrusion from any source, including the federal government.”

Sanctuary city mayors and state officials appear to be pinning their hopes on the constitutional principle that the federal government cannot compel or commandeer state and local governments to carry out its functions.

However, they will struggle to find an answer for their own arguments from just a few years ago that immigration law is an area of exclusive federal jurisdiction that supersedes state and local law. Democrats made that case passionately against Arizona’s SB 1070, which allowed local law enforcement officers to ask people whom they stopped for another legitimate purpose to prove that they were legally resident in the United States. (The law was largely struck down at the Supreme Court.)

Furthermore, there is nothing states and municipalities can do about the power of the federal government over its own funds.

One city in California agreed with Trump’s policy: Fresno, the state’s fifth-largest city and the heart of the conservative Central Valley. The city’s new mayor, Lee Brand, told the editorial board of the Fresno Bee: “I’m not going to make Fresno a sanctuary city because I don’t want to make Fresno ineligible from receiving potentially millions of dollars in infrastructure and other types of projects … My philosophy is to follow the law and to avoid these national culture-war questions.”

Obama gave foreign 'students' 180,000 U.S. jobs, $32B in lost wages

    By PAUL BEDARD (@SECRETSBEDARD) •

A pro-immigrant program was expanded under President Obama that paid U.S. firms $2.7 billion to hire 180,000 foreign "students," jobs that likely otherwise would have gone to Americans, according to a new report.

The so-called "Optional Practical Training" was supposedly set up for foreign students but actually included no training and put college graduates in the high-paying jobs for three years.

The Center for Immigration Studies, which on Friday urged President Trump to stop the program, estimated that the jobs paid $60,000, suggesting a total of $11 billion in annual wages lost to American workers, over $32 billion over three years. In his Inaugural Address, Trump advocated an "America First" theme.

The Center said the program, also used under former President George W. Bush, paid companies $10,000-$15,000 to hire the foreigner college grads for three years.

"That is a prize worthy of special attention. More than 180,000 good jobs," said the Center, adding:

"The best part of OPT for the foreign alums — and a devastating factor to U.S. resident college grads (both citizens and green card holders) — is that employers are given a $10,000-$15,000 bonus for hiring an alien rather than an American with the same salary.

"This is hard to believe, but true; recent administrations have waved a magic wand over the foreign grads and called them 'students' so that the usual payroll taxes (Social Security and Medicare) do not apply to either their employers or to the students.

"So the employer, faced with two equally qualified candidates for, say, a $60,000 a year job (for three years), each candidate being willing to work for that salary, has his choice. If he hires the alien the total payroll costs for three years will be $180,000; if he hires the citizen alternative, the employer will pay $193,770. The higher the salary, the bigger the bonus to the employer hiring the alien."

The author of the report, immigration expert and former Labor Department official David North, called on Trump to end the program.

Besides an additional 180,000 well-paying jobs opening up, he wrote, "There would be a substantial bonus — one to two billion dollars a year — for our older citizens, as the undeserved current savings come right out of the hide of the Medicare and Social Security systems. So this move would not only be in line with the president's promise to increase the number of jobs for working-age Americans, it would also fit in with his promise not to cut Social Security and Medicare benefits for one-time working Americans.

"In short, a really, really good twofer!"
