    THE co-pilot at the centre of the Germanwings plane crash hid details of an existing illness from his employer, German prosecutors suspect.

    During a press conference today, prosecutors said they had found torn-up sick notes in the home of Andreas Lubitz - the co-pilot who is suspected of deliberately crashing the doomed plane into an Alps earlier this week.
    In their report, they said some were "recent and even from the day of the crime".
    They did not disclose what Lubitz was suffering from, but said their evidence pointed "towards an existing illness and corresponding treatment by doctors".
    "Documents with medical contents were confiscated that point towards an existing illness and corresponding treatment by doctors," said the prosecutors' office in Duesseldorf, where the pilot lived and where the flight from Barcelona was heading.

    The prosecutors added that the documents were found in searches of the 27-year-old's flat in Dusseldorf and the home he shared with his parents in the town of Montabaur.Earlier, German media reported that Lubitz received treatment for depression some six years ago with regular assessments recommended, according to official notes.
    Lubitz and 149 people - including passengers and members of crew - died on Tuesday when Germanwings Flight 4U9525 crashed into the French Alps.
    Data from the plane's voice recorder suggested that the co-pilot had intentionally started the descent of flight 4U9525 while the pilot was locked out of the cockpit, French prosecutors said yesterday.
    After the pilot left the cockpit, he was then prevented from re-entering, prosecutors said.
    Reports suggested there was a "violent struggle" between the two airmen, who were "shouting at each other" moments before impact.
    Lubitz - who had around 630 hours of flight experience at the time of the crash - is believed to have been alive at the moment the plane hit the side of the mountain at 500mph.

    Germanwings co-pilot 'obsessed' with Alps

    Co-pilot Andreas Lubitz, who is believed to have deliberately killed 150 people when he flew a passenger plane into the Alps, was "obsessed" with the French mountain region, one of his peers said on Friday.





    Speculation continues to swirl on Friday as more details emerge about the past life of pilot Andreas Lubitz, who killed himself and 149 Germanwings passengers on Tuesday.


    Two of his peers spoke to French newspaper Le Parisien, suggesting that he was more than familiar with the area that the plane crashed.


    A member of his gliding club, Ernst Müller, told the paper that he was "certain" that the German had taken part in at least one or two courses in Sisteron, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region.

    Another, Dieter Wagner, said: "Andreas participated in one of the courses in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence with my niece, who was a good friend of his. He was passionate about the Alps, even obsessed".

    "I am certain that he knew the crash area because he had flown it in a glider."

    Prosecutors revealed on Friday that Lubitz had a sick leave note from his doctor for the day of the crash, but hid his illness from his employers.

    Germanwings responded later in the day that it had no knowledge of a doctor-signed sick note.

    Lubitz had a history of depression and had to take an 11-month break from his training in Arizona before qualifying as a pilot, reported German newspaper Bild.

    The pilot was briefly listed as "unable to fly" during his training period in the US, the paper reported, while his personnel file at the German Air Travel Authority (Luftfahrtbundesamt) and his pilot's licence were marked with a code, "SIC", indicating he was subject to regular medical checks.


    The Rheinische Post reported that the Uniklinikum hospital in Düsseldorf said it had last treated Lubitz as a patient between February and March 10th 2015.
    Sources told the newspaper that Lubitz was undergoing diagnosis for physical, not mental symptoms.

    Co-pilot 'was hospital patient'

    Germanwings crash co-pilot Andreas Lubitz had an off-work sick note for the day of the disaster and was also a patient at a Dusseldorf hospital.

    German prosecutors are now pouring over the medical history of Lubitz, 28, who deliberately crashed the Airbus A320 into the French Alps last Tuesday killing all 150 people on board, including three Britons.

    There were also reports that the captain locked out of the flight deck after Lubitz put the plane into a descent had used an axe in an unsuccessful to break down the cockpit door.

    The sick note was among items found when police searched Lubitz's apartment in Dusseldorf.

    "Documents with medical contents were confiscated that point towards an existing illness and corresponding treatment by doctors," said the prosecutors' office in Dusseldorf.

    The office went on: "The fact there are sick notes saying he was unable to work, among other things, that were found torn up, which were recent and even from the day of the crime, support the assumption based on the preliminary examination that the deceased hid his illness from his employer and his professional colleagues."

    The prosecutors said the search had found no suicide note or confession, "nor was there any evidence of a political or religious background to what happened".

    Dusseldorf University Hospital said in a statement today that Lubitz had been a patient and had last came to the hospital for "diagnostic evaluation" on March 10. It declined to provide details about his condition but denied German media reports that it had treated the pilot for depression.

    The hospital says it has submitted Lubitz's patient record to prosecutors in Dusseldorf, where he lived.

    A German aviation official said today that Lubitz's file at the country's Federal Aviation Office contained a "SIC" note, meaning that he needed "specific regular medical examination".

    But neighbours described a man whose physical health was superb.

    "He definitely did not smoke. He really took care of himself. He always went jogging. I am not sure whether he did marathons, but he was very healthy," said Johannes Rossmann, who lived a few doors down from Lubitz's other home in Montabaur.

    Earlier, France's prime minister called on Lufthansa to provide all information about Lubitz.

    Manuel Valls said that Lufthansa should give the maximum of information "so that we can understand why this pilot got to the point of this horrific action".

    Following the lead of a number of other airlines including some UK carriers, Germanwing's parent airline Lufthansa said it was introducing new procedures that would mean that two authorised persons had to be in the cockpit at all times during a flight.

    Germanwings, which has asked for its adverts to be taken down from London Underground stations, was setting up a family assistance centre in the French city of Marseille. It added that family briefings would start tomorrow.

    pparently it is now forbidden to refer to someone who killed 149 people in a pointless act of mountainside barbarism as a ‘madman’. Seriously. The Sun found this out today after it dared to run with the headline ‘Madman in cockpit’ in relation to the Germanwings air disaster, which is now thought to have been a conscious and suicidal act of mass murder on the part of the co-pilot, Andreas Lubitz. Academics, tweeters and tabloid-loathers have, well, gone mad over the Sun‘s headline, ironically frothing like loonies over the Sun‘s use of loony-like language. I’m sorry, but if you can’t call someone who is suspected of killing 149 innocent souls in the most horrible and calculated fashion a ‘madman’, then who can be branded with the m-word? Anyone? No one?

    It has been discovered that Lubitz was suffering from a mental illness, and officials now believe that this could have been a factor in his seeming decision to coolly crash his airplane into the side of the Alps. But according to the Guardian we must be super-careful in how we talk about Lubitz. It accuses the Sun of ‘stigmatising depression’ by referring to Lubitz as a ‘madman’. This is bonkers (I have lots more of these madness-related adjectives): the Sun was describing Lubitz as a madman because he killed himself and 149 people in a bizarre way (allegedly), not because he was depressed. He behaved madly, hence the madman tag. What’s the problem?

    Another observer accuses the Sun and other tabloids of giving a ‘kick in the teeth for people who suffer from mental-health issues’. She slams media outlets for using headlines such as ‘Killer pilot suffered from depression’ - which is a fact! - and ‘Why on earth was he allowed to fly?’ - which is actually a bloody good question. Sure, depressed people work perfectly well, in many areas of life. But having bipolar people who are under the close supervision of doctors in the cockpit of a plane? I’m not sure that’s the best idea in history. We should certainly be allowed to ask if it’s a good idea. Given a choice between a totally sane pilot with no history of medication for mental issues and a pilot who has suffered severe dark episodes and has been watched closely by psychiatrists, which would you choose to fly you over the Alps? Well then.

    We know that the guy had to deliberately lock the door to prevent the pilot from returning.

    We know that he had to do it MORE THAN ONCE at this point.

    We know he refused to respond first to knocking, then to pounding on the door, then with an axe.

    We know his "respiration" didn't change from a cool, steady breathing.

    And yet, someone says "we don't know he was a killer?"

    OPINION: News reports on accusations that Germanwings co-pilot Andreas Lubitz purposely brought down Flight 9525 over the French Alps have rushed to convict him.


    "Andreas Lubitz (27), the Amok Pilot," ran Friday's banner headline in Bild, Germany's most popular tabloid. "Killer in the Cockpit," screamed London's Daily Mail. The Independent went it one better: "Mass Murder from the Cockpit."


    Other tabloids offered more in that vein: "madman," "jilted pilot", "why on earth was he allowed to fly?".


    All because Marseilles prosecutor Brice Robin saw fit to announce that the co-pilot "wanted to destroy the aircraft". The evidence that led him to that conclusion came from the plane's cockpit audio recorder. The story it told, however, is a matter of interpretation. It seems clear that the captain went to the toilet, leaving the co-pilot alone in the cockpit. Then, Robin said, the co-pilot prevented his colleague from re-entering and sent the plane into a fast descent. The captain apparently banged on the door, but to no avail - Lubitz remained silent; the recorder caught his even breathing over the banging and the screams.

    This evidence is insufficient for the momentous conclusions Robin has drawn. A video posted on YouTube, Airbus Reinforced Cockpit Door Description and Procedure, which describes the procedures for opening and closing the reinforced cockpit door, leaves room for alternative interpretations of the Flight 9525 audio. The normal re-entry procedure involves talking to the pilot inside the cockpit on an internal phone, then pushing the hash button on a keypad, after which the pilot inside hears a tone and hits a switch to let in his colleague. If that doesn't happen, the person on the outside must enter a code and then has 30 seconds to open the door.


    Consider the possibility that Lubitz lost consciousness while Captain Patrick Sondenheimer was out, but the captain and crew somehow had the wrong re-entry code.


    Or imagine that Sondenheimer banged on the door instead of going through the required motions, as the purser does in the Airbus video. The procedure in that case calls for the pilot inside the cockpit to hit the switch to lock the door. If that's what happened, might Lubitz have panicked, thinking there was a hijacking attempt, and tried to land the plane?

    All these versions sound implausible, of course, but so does the suggestion that Lubitz intentionally killed 150 people he did not know because he was depressed or had problems with his girlfriend. At the Robin press conference, a reporter even asked about the co-pilot's religion. Robin immediately got the hint, saying: "He's not listed as a terrorist, if that's what you're implying."


    The truth is, there's no way to build a coherent theory of what happened on Flight 9525 without technical information from the flight data recorder. If or when it is recovered, we can find out how the plane came to change altitude. As Vanity Fair correspondent William Langewiesche, himself a pilot who has covered plane crash investigations, said of the prosecutor's allegations: "That's a little premature.


    "The professional investigators, at this stage, are not unaware of these things and the possibility of these things, but they're not just going to be pursuing that. They're going to look at the full range of options. How were the systems operating? As far as I know, the data recorder has not been found, and may not have survived the accident."

    That's also what Vereinigung Cockpit, the German pilots' union, says: "The reason for this descent as well as the answer to the question why the first officer did not react later on, remain unknown at this time. The question why the captain was unable to return to the flight deck remains unanswered as well. To answer all these questions, it is vital to quickly locate and carefully examine the flight data recorder."


    The pilots union could simply be in denial, of course, and, yes, it's possible that Lubitz did bring down the plane intentionally, as the co-pilot of EgyptAir Flight 990 probably did in 1999. Until that is established with a higher degree of certainty, however, the hail of harsh accusations is unwarranted.
    It hurts Lubitz's family, it inflicts stress on people who knew him as a normal young man, and it doesn't make things easier for the crash victims' families. Anger doesn't mix well with grief. In 2004, a Russian man, Vitaly Kaloev, travelled to Switzerland to stab an air traffic controller accused of bringing about a plane crash that killed the man's family. He went to jail unrepentant.


    Apart from everything else, the relentless press coverage following Robin's premature conclusions stigmatizes people who suffer from depression, as tabloids report Lubitz did at some point.


    Just one day after urging restraint until the investigators finish their work, German Chancellor Angela Merkel should not have come out and called what happened "a crime against all the victims and families involved." Investigating airline crashes is not a business that lends itself to rash conclusions. With so much still unknown, there's nothing that I, for one, want to know at this point about the private life of the late Andreas Lubitz. Why Flight 9525 lost altitude over those mountains is far more relevant.

    He didn't TRY to land the plane. He changed the autopilot to drive the plane INTO THE MOUNTAIN.

    (CNN)It is now generally accepted that Germanwings first officer Andreas Lubitz did indeed lock his captain out of the cockpit, put their airplane into a steep descent, and then sit back and wait calmly for the end to arrive. He did it with premeditation, having discarded a doctor's note that would have excused him from work that day. He joins the short and infamous list of airline pilots, a handful over the past two decades, who have used their airplanes to combine suicide with mass murder.

    Why is this thought at once so fascinating and so horrifying?

    It is because of the incompatibility between what we want to believe about flying and what we now see. Air travel presents itself as a highly controlled, stringently professional activity, stripped of every unpredictable element. Flight crews wear military-style uniforms not because they could not fly equally well in street clothes, but because uniforms convey to passengers a subliminal suggestion that they are of a different breed, as far from ordinary folk as a world-class athlete is from a duffer.

    Not only are pilots smarter and better-trained than ordinary people, those stripes and caps say, but they also must be less forgetful than we, less distractible, better rested, not prone to irritability or sadness or smoldering resentments. Like soldiers, they must be just a little bit robotic, efficient, brave and purified of the trash that infests the souls of common humans.

    Because they have earned their stripes, we feel safe -- even when it seems impossible for us to understand, or apparently for anyone to explain, what keeps those huge metal contraptions up in the air.

    The truth, as the voluminous history of airplane accidents reveals, is that pilots are not different from other people. They can be careless, lazy, inattentive and reckless. They can drink too much. When pilots talk among themselves, the mistakes, the close calls, the disasters averted by sheer luck are favorite topics.

    But if pilots slip up in little ways from time to time, the sweeping drama of aviation, in which they are the actors and we the audience, eclipses their faults. Besides, most flying is routine -- hours of boredom, the cliché goes, punctuated by moments of sheer terror. The glitches have long since been ironed out, and the airplanes are so wonderfully engineered that they usually protect even the worst pilot from himself.

    Nor are pilots of a higher moral type than the rest of us. Despite the pieties they occasionally utter, pilots do not consciously shoulder the burden of hundreds of lives or feel more responsible for a full airplane than for an empty one.

    Pilots, by and large, are proud. They identify with the airplane; it is an extension and enlargement of the self, and the pilot feels the same motive to deliver it safely to its destination as you feel when driving a car on a crowded freeway. A pilot values a smooth landing because it demonstrates skill, not because the people in back are still alive. The greatest guarantee you have that your pilot is devoted to your safety is the fact that he or she is in the airplane with you.

    So we should not be overly astonished if from time to time a pilot does something completely incompatible with our confidence.

    Pilots are drawn from the diverse pool of human types. The human mind is the blackest of boxes; no one, neither colleague nor psychologist, can reliably peer inside it. Desperate, cataclysmic acts occur almost daily all over the world; why should they not occur, once in a long while, in cockpits?

    Perhaps, with time, we will understand better who Andreas Lubitz was and what he did. Today, we still know very little.

    Isn't that wonderful?

    Any random fuck with a pilot's license can kill hundreds of people if they want to, for no apparent reason, any time they have control of an airplane.

    Thus Germany now has its own 9/11, but in a reduced form. And so it is clear that Islam is a terrorist organization that are in accordance with §129a of the Criminal Code to prohibit it and to investigate its followers. But nothing will happen.

    One can bet that the apologists (media, politics, “Islamic Scholars”) will agree to assign this an act of a “mentally unstable” man, and you can bet that now, once again the mantra of how supposedly peaceful Islam is will continue. And worse still, the attacks by the left against those who have always warned against Islam, will be angrier and merciless.

    For now the German Islam supporters like never before have their backs against the wall.

    I reported that last week, however, I couldn't get any further information.

    If you scroll back you will see where I mentioned it (I think I mentioned it over on FB as well). The thing is, people that knew this guy have said it and they have been suppressed.

    It's infuriating that the god damned media won't tell the fucking truth about this shit and shine a light on these cockroaches.

    I heard about this connection on a podcast earlier this week but didn't get around looking for articles till today.

    DUSSELDORF,Germany (3/31/15)--I have waited for an entire week before responding to the deliberate German plane crash in the French Alps by co-pilot Andreas Lubitz, to see if the Obama controlled media would reveal this story truthfully.

    Today marks the beginning of the 2 nd week since that disaster and not even a brief mention was seen in the mainstream media  about the Islamic websites praising Allah for their newest martyr. It is unlikely that those posts were put up for a gag or for perverted mischief. Especially with many of those quotes in Arabic, which you will see.

    Indeed, in one account, the Germanwings co-pilot was heralded on Facebook with this kind of entry: Our holy martyr Lubitz died for our prophet. Another says: We love our martyr. ANDREAS LUBITZ WILL FOREVER LIVE IN OUR HEARTS. Another typical one states: Our holy martyr Lubitz died for our prophet. LONG LIVE HIS SOUL. (caps all theirs) This is just a couple of many scattered throughout the web.

    The Obama cover-up media blamed the crash upon a mentally unstable pilot who suffered depression and had considered committing suicide. This has been the emphasis throughout. Too much emphasis brings suspicion.

    Other media sites state that Lubitz was a Muslim convert . We saw that possible explanation when the news first broke, by the fact that the co-pilot locked the senior pilot out of the cockpit before nosing the plane down to its total destruction killing everyone on board. We cocked an eyebrow when it was mentioned that Lubitz had taken flying lessons in America, which is where every Jihad Muslim learned how to operate a plane before using airplanes as bombs such as the 9/11 attack upon America.

    Then, there was six weeks that Lubitz took time off from Germanwings. The purpose of that has not been explained and at this very moment, airline authorities REFUSE to answer that question, stimulating the possibility that he used that time to train for ISIS attacks against citizens.

    Why have authorities refused to release the conversation tapes or content from the black boxes which have been found? Did he possibly yell: Allahu Akbar just before the plane crashed into the mountain side? By obviously hiding what was on the cockpit tapes places the entire event under extreme suspicion.

    Being secretive and withholding facts seeds the plants of suspicion that might not exist otherwise.

    The authorities including Obama will NOT call this an act of terrorism. Not now, not in the past nor will they in the future. The fact of misrpresenting and slanting facts, as always, is a dead giveaway when the Obama propaganda machine denies any disaster as an act of terrorism.

    That was the first thing stated in this case, and in the Ft. Hood Shooting case where the Islamic officer opened fire on staff there killing and wounding many American military personnel. Indeed, Obama declared – now get this – Do not jump to conclusions or rush to judgement about this. Really?

    The propaganda media has centered on the fact that the co-pilot, Andreas Lubitz, had mental problems, was depressed and suicidal. Plus he had broken up with his girl friend. Many sites suggested that the girl friend was Muslim and that he had met her through MUSLIM FRIENDS. For some reason the media have released no information or a photo of his former girl friend. Why, since she is an important part of the event and story?

    But the mental illness facade is an effective smokescreen to conceal the real motive behind the crash, that violently killed 200 people. The Obama controlled media have purposely avoided a public examination of these probabilities simply because Obama, who was raised Muslim, stated in his own writings that in the event of a problem, he would always stand with Islam.

    But wait, it is unlikely that this confused German pilot who suffered depression, suicidal thoughts and overall mental problems would join the Muslims in their war against the world. BUT WAIT! That is exactly what makes a superb candidate to take part in this violent religion – one who feels detached from society, a lack of social acceptance, a feeling of un-appreciation, one who does not fit in, never feels totally anchored, and one who really is not sure who he or she is.

    The greatest recruitment facility for Muslims is the jails and prisons that are peopled with misfits, the disenfranchised, loners with a chip on the shoulder, and those who felt and feel that life is unfair.

    These are the people who are the easiest to recruit, manipulate, lead, and command. For the first time for many, their life can finally mean something at least to themselves, provide a purpose in life, to get serious attention,and become an accepted part of a community, which seems to be the most important of all according to those I've talked to.

    It is also a time where they can feel in control of life by killing others. That, to them, is power, something they never felt they had before. In their sick minds this is especially so when their victims desperately plead for their lives. This gives them a feeling of total control along with a sense of great power and importance. This is the anatomy of Islam.

    Too many suspicions have been raised by the silence on the major points of this event for the news as given to be trusted. Whenever a story breaks in the news media that captures my interest, the first thing I do is check and research thoroughly to find exactly what that story is REALLY about.

    Obama has constantly worked to assist the Islamic cause. He has put an alarming number of Muslims into staff positions in Washington, D.C. including the placement of them in the office of Homeland Security which in turn gives them access to all intelligence reports and preparations.

    Obama celebrates Islamic holy days in the White House while excluding Christian Holy Days acknowledgement there. He bows down low to Islamic leaders, he gives a Muslim finger signal for the benefit of Muslims who understand the significance of this signal, which means that everything is under control. This Muslim signal by Obama has been photographed on many occasions in many different settings. By his own admission, Obama has but one loyalty which is towards Muslims and Islam.

    So what about that disturbed co-pilot? Is he or is he not a Muslim convert? Was that plane crash a dedicated act of Jihad? And if not, why are Muslims world-wide celebrating it and praising Mr. Lubitz? By the cover-ups, manipulating news reports and fully maximizing the mental condition of the co-pilot, this appears to be a diversion to draw attention away from the real possibility that yes, this really was an Islamic action. Only time will tell.

    Meanwhile, the Senate and Congress have not made one move to have this traitor and imposter removed from The Oval Office. Why?

    I'm going to disagree with you here a bit.

    Had that been an American carrier, we still wouldn't know why the plane went down.

    Lawyers for the airlines would be blocking every attempt to let the reason be known due to liability.

    Also, one of the persons who heard the entire tape said that there was "always silence" inside the cockpit.

    Lufthansa is going to eat a big dick over this because the pilot was known to be a depressive. It's going to get into a "who knew what and when did they know it".

    Some high level Lufthansa execs will be falling on their swords inside of 3 months.

    Had this been an American carrier...6 months in the answer still wouldn't be public.

    It's not that I expect an answer. It's that I expect the media who has gained information about web sites like Face book, not reporting for their own reasons, whatever they are. I suppose that their reasons include being Islam-friendly, not wanting to "panic the public" or to appear as if they are stirring the pot or something.

    I don't expect an official explanation for a long time. Never did.

    IF however, there is absolute hard evidence this asshat was a converted (or otherwise) Muslim, then that information should be put out into the ether for the universe to hear, and hear it soon.

    Why? Because we all know the "Sudden Jihad Syndrome" as you call it isn't so sudden, and it's not a Syndrome or sickness. It's a planned event every time.

    People need to UNDERSTAND this better than they understand why their kids misbehave. It serves to alert the world and to give them (the world) the ability to SPOT these fuckers before they do something like this.

    If the government can have a kneejerk reaction and write the bloody patriot act (which affects EVERYONE BUT TERRORISTS) then we can demand immediate release of information to the public on what is happening.
