Okay, it's too late. Need to get some sleep for work tomorrow. I'm punching out.

Praying for no more police fatalities by the time I wake up.

Two snipers shoot 11 police officers and leave bombs all over the place during Dallas protests

    DailyMail ^ | 8 July 2016 | By Ollie Gillman For Dailymail.com
Posted on 7/8/2016, 12:54:08 AM by CorporateStepsister

Two snipers have shot 11 police officers - killing at least four - and may have planted a bomb in downtown Dallas.

The two gunmen opened fire from 'elevated positions', picking off officers 'ambush style' as they manned a protest over the deaths of two black men, police chief David Brown said.

A gruesome video shows a heroic policeman taking on one of gunmen, but being gunned down by the shooter before being shot again execution-style, from point-blank range.

Both suspects have been caught and taken into custody, with one detained following a shootout with police.

As they were detained, they are said to have told officers: 'The end is coming... and there are bombs all over the place.'

Officers found a suspicious package near where one of the gunmen was caught and a bomb squad are dealing with it.

Police said two people are being questioned after they were spotted speeding away from the scene of the shooting in a black Mercedes. An officer saw one of the pair hurriedly putting a camouflage bag in the back of the car before driving off 'at a high rate of speed'.

Another man, named as Mark Hughes, was pictured walking through Dallas with what appeared to be an assault rifle. He turned himself into police after cops made a public appeal and his family said he was an innocent bystander.

Four police officers have died and as many as three others are in a critical condition. A member of the public was also shot.

'Our worst nightmare has happened,' Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings said. 'It is a heartbreaking moment for the city of Dallas.'

There may have been as many as five.... The cops all went down in different locations except a couple it looks like.

This is fucked up. If bombs were planted, this was the work of ISIS.

Military training maybe they think? This wasn't an American.

Nope, I'll guarantee it was Americans. Black BLM types that were prior .mil

Gangs getting training in the military has been a problem for years. Pretty sure we even had a thread here on it.

The shooting style seen from the shooters was too practiced and disciplined. Hell, in the one video the guy is using his sights. The ISIS types are more of the "shoot wildly and if Allah wills it I will hit something" style.

    Watch this.

These were NOT protests that sprang up spontaneously. They were planned by #BLM and the New Black Panthers. There were tweets and emails, as well as FB posts to get these protests up.

People were AWARE this was going to happen.

Tomorrow is a big one in Louisiana.

    Got a name.....

    Micah Johnson I think.

Who Is Micah Johnson? Dallas Shooting Suspect Identified As Area Resident

    BY LYDIA TOMKIW @LYDIATOMKIW ON

    CLOSE

A suspect in the Dallas police shooting has been identified as Micah X. Johnson, 25, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday. Johnson was a resident of the Dallas area who had no ties to terror groups or a criminal history. An unnamed law enforcement official told the Los Angeles Times Johnson had relatives in Mesquite, Texas.
Five police officers were killed late Thursday by shooters during a peaceful protest over the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile earlier this week. Dallas Police Chief David Brown said negotiations with one suspect, later identified as Johnson by a law enforcement official, broke down early Friday. After gunfire broke out, a bomb robot was used to kill Johnson.
"He wanted to kill officers. And he expressed killing white people, killing white officers, he expressed anger for Black Lives Matter," Brown said during a press conference.
Brown said police cornered Johnson in a parking garage at El Centro College in Dallas and negotiated with him for several hours. CBS News also confirmed Johnson was the suspect.
"We saw no other option but to use our bomb robot and place a device on its extension for it to detonate where the suspect was. Other options would have exposed our officers to great danger," Brown said. "He seemed lucid during negotiations."
Negotiations broke down around 2:30 a.m. local time. Johnson told police he was not linked to any groups and had acted on his own. Brown would not comment on the mental health of the suspects in the case. Initial reports had incorrectly stated that Johnson had shot himself. Three other suspects in the shooting were in custody, Brown said.
The shootings in Dallas come after the deaths of Castile in Minnesota and Sterling in Louisiana earlier this week. Both black men were killed by police officers.
President Barack Obama said the U.S. was "horrified" by the shooting of police officers and asked all Americans to pray for the officers and their families.

Obama Immediately Exploits Dallas Murders to Promote Citizen Disarmament

    Posted on by David Codrea
    By David Codrea
Obama exploits the murderous Dallas on police to attack the right to keep and bear arms. (White House video screenshot)
USA – -(Ammoland.com)- At this writing, all that’s known for sure is that at least five police officers have been killed and others have been wounded in a sniper attack at a Dallas rally protesting the recent killings of two black men in Minnesota and Louisiana. Reports claim there were at least two killers, that an accomplice(s) is in custody, and that others are being sought. Other reports say one of the killers claimed he wanted to kill white people.
So naturally, never one to be late to a blood dance, Barack Obama signaled the administration’s intent to exploit the killings as an opportunity to keep pushing for citizen disarmament at a time when Republican resolve (an oxymoron in itself much of the time) appears to be wavering.
“We still don’t know all the facts,” Obama admitted during a special press conference from Warsaw, where he is attending a NATO summit. Still, there’s one thing he’s sure of – Americans being armed is something he wants to do something about:
We also know that when people are armed with powerful weapons, unfortunately it makes attacks like these more deadly and more tragic. And in the days ahead, we’re going to have to consider those realities as well.
He’s made no secret of wanting to reinstate and expand the Clinton gun ban since before he first ran for president. In the days ahead, monopoly of violence enthusiasts in the citizen disarmament lobby, opportunistic politicians, apparatchik gun owner control professionals and media cheerleaders will be pulling out all the stops to continue spooking the herd to bleat for more “common sense.” And of course the blame for Dallas will be laid squarely at the feet of the NRA.
Don’t be surprised when the information becomes available to find the killers had been on law enforcement’s radar. Don’t be surprised if there are criminal records. And don’t be surprised to see some attempt to transfer their guilt to those who believe in the right to keep and bear arms.
Why should you be required to pay for evil actions of others?
Anything that impedes that right is, of course, the exact wrong “solution,” especially at a time of heightened danger for all of us. What happened in Dallas shows that a mere handful of determined dissidents can paralyze a city, tie up all law enforcement resources, and capture the focused attention of a horrified nation. For some, it will be an epiphany, as they realize the power to do the same and more exists in Everytown, and all supposedly omnipotent government can do is react.
Pray that doesn’t spread, although with the upcoming Republican and Democrat conventions, and with well-publicized statements of disruptive intent from all kinds of collectivist groups (and the even more dangerous unpublicized plans), we find ourselves in a most menacing time. Imagine Dallas events emulated in another city, and another. A martial law response, with (at least initial) widespread public demand, suddenly does not seem such an unimaginable possibility. And don’t think those directing such actions will be doing so with the goal of giving seized power back.
Now is hardly the time to give one inch, especially on guns. Now is not the time to lose heart, to falter or to blink. Now is the time to reflect that, if a handful of malcontents can cause this much disruption, is it any wonder the thought of millions of gun owners, in millions of locations throughout the Republic, scares the hell out of those who would control all?
Why do you think they really want to ban the firearms that would be most useful in times of civil upheaval and/or government overreach?
Now is the time for each of us who may be hesitant and unsure to find our courage and resolve.
    WE WILL NOT DISARM.

Dallas Police Used a Bomb Robot to Kill Suspect After Shootings

    Darren Orf
    Filed to: ROBOTS

    Image: AP

According to Dallas Police chief David Brown, after hours of negotiations failed with a cornered suspect at the El Centro College in Dallas, officers sent in a robot to detonate a bomb and kill the suspect.

This is what Brown said during a Friday morning press conference:
We saw no other option but to use our bomb robot and place a device on its extension for it to detonate where the suspect was. Other options would have exposed the officers to grave danger.
Here’s a video from that particular portion of the press conference:

The suspect told police that he was upset about the recent shootings of Philandro Castile and Alton Sterling and wanted to kill white people, “especially white officers,” according to The Atlantic. Brown corrected the record with original reports saying the suspected gunman had killed himself. The suspect was in fact killed by this robot/bomb maneuver. The robot was used after five police officers were killed and at least six other officers and civilians were wounded.

Some are reporting that the operation was similar to a technique often used in Iraq, involving MARCbots. We’ve reached out to the Dallas Police Department to confirm these details.

Another popular police robot called Packbot, built by Endeavor Robotics, has been used in several police operations, including the Boston Marathon bomber manhunt in 2013. However, none of these bots were directly intended or used to injure or kill a suspect.
In an attack on a Dallas Police station in 2015, officers also deployed an “Explosive Ordinance Robot” to dismantle one of the attackers bags. However, that shooter was eventually killed by police gunfire.

It’s unclear whether this is the first lethal use of a robot in American policing, although according to some experts it is.

I'm going to preface this with saying I was not in but do know many who were so take this for what it's worth.

In your military, Reagan's military, you'd be absolutely right.

Today's military is not that military and I've heard that from guys that were in both. Today's military is a big social justice petri dish with highly politicized brass beholden to the leftist politicians in charge. If you're a member of the "protected class" that is a problem in one form or another, there is very little danger of serious discipline or separation. In fact, you stand a pretty decent chance of being promoted upwards so you're someone else's problem.

See Nadal Hasan. See Chris Dorner. Both officers, in fact.

Cornell William Brooks made the comment in an interview Friday on ‘‘CBS This Morning.’’ He says that includes establishing a national standard for excessive use of force and federal laws that address police accountability and community trust.
Five officers were killed and seven others injured in Dallas on Thursday during a protest over fatal police shootings of black men this week in Louisiana and Minnesota.

A robotics expert says Dallas police appear to be the first law enforcement agency to use a robot to kill.
Peter W. Singer, of the New America Foundation, says the killing of a suspect in Thursday night’s fatal shooting of five police officers is the first instance of which he’s aware of a robot being used lethally by police.
Dallas Police Chief David Brown told reporters that after hours of failed negotiations and in order to not put any officers in harm’s way, his department used a robot to deliver a bomb that killed the suspect. Brown said they saw no other option.
Singer said in an email Friday that when he was researching his 2009 book ‘‘Wired for War’’ a U.S. soldier told him troops in Iraq sometimes used MARCbot surveillance robots against insurgents.

The attack began Thursday night during a protest about the recent killings by police of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota. Five officers were killed and seven others were wounded. Two civilians were also wounded.
Police Chief David Brown said Friday that his department used a robot-delivered bomb to kill a suspect after hours of negotiations failed. He says the suspect expressed anger over recent killings by police of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota. Dallas’ police chief said Johnson told negotiators that he acted alone and was unaffiliated with any group.

A Facebook page claiming to represent a black power group has posted messages claiming responsibility for the deaths of five police officers in Dallas.

Five officers were gunned down by at least two shooters who picked out officers from an 'elevated position' - believed to be a multi-storey car park.

It came in the week of public outrage over the deaths of two black men shot by police.

The so-called Black Power Political Organisation wrote on its Facebook account that it was behind the attack and that 'more assassinations are coming'.

It's origins and history is not yet known and authorities have not confirmed any political link to the shootings.

The group has posted dozens of statements on alleged racially-motivated incidents and threatening violent action over at least the several months.

Days ago the group had left an ominous message pledging to get 'revenge' for the fatal shooting of Alton Sterling - who was shot repeatedly while being pinned to the ground in an incident captured on mobile phone footage.
