Default GROL General Radiotelephone Operator License (PG)

    http://wireless.fcc.gov/commoperators/index.htm?job=pg

    Description
A PG is required to adjust, maintain, or internally repair FCC licensed radiotelephone transmitters in the aviation, maritime, and international fixed public radio services. It conveys all of the operating authority of the MP. It is also required to operate the following:

    • any compulsorily equipped ship radiotelephone station operating with more than 1500 watts of peak envelope power.
    • voluntarily equipped ship and aeronautical (including aircraft) stations with more than 1000 watts of peak envelope power.

    Qualifications
    To qualify, you must:

    • be a legal resident of (or otherwise eligible for employment in) the United States; and
    • be able to receive and transmit spoken messages in English; and
    • pass a written and/or telegraphy examination(s) as described below under Examinations.

Just thought I would stop in for once let everyone know what I have been up to. I passed my GROL with Radar endorsement this past month. Got the letter from the FCC and able to login to the various sites to edit info, print certificates.

I took the test down at the tech college through the electronics department the administrator "COLEM (Commercial Operator License. Exam Manager)" gave me the test. He kind of was contracted through this organization ETA International http://www.eta-i.org/.

Something like a 1044 question pool. I used this book https://www.amazon.com/GROL-Radar-Gordon-West/dp/0945053606

And this site to do practice tests http://www.fccradioexam.com/

Anyway I am doing this backwards but now studying up for the HAM.

I figured you had that. I will try and knock out the amateur technician and general here soon. Wait awhile to bump up to the extra. Gives me a good excuse to go buy a radio and build another antenna for the tower.

Going to take all the tests for the CET through the same school here this fall. My workplace could care less about these things. Their only focus seems to be not what you know but your social intelligence/emotional intelligence capability or some other BS crap like that.
