Dems won’t take no collusion for an answer, seek Mueller evidence and more

    Published

Democrats showed no signs of letting up even after Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report found no evidence of collusion between Trump campaign associates and Russia during the 2016 election, with their congressional leaders calling for not only the release of the full report but also the underlying documents -- and testimony from Attorney General Bill Barr.

Barr released a four-page summary Sunday of Mueller’s findings from his investigation that spanned nearly two years. Barr’s letter noted that while Mueller found no evidence of collusion, the special counsel did not come to a conclusion on whether President Trump obstructed justice.

In turn, Barr and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who appointed Mueller and oversaw the majority of the Russia investigation after former Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself, concluded that the evidence was “not sufficient to establish that the President committed an obstruction-of-justice offense.”

This raised red flags for Democrats who already have signaled that the Mueller report is by no means the end of Trump investigations. If anything, Democrats were emboldened to keep pursuing the obstruction issue after Mueller left it open -- no matter what Barr concluded. Democrats quickly challenged Barr's impartiality while calling for a sweeping amount of documentation from the Mueller investigation itself.

“Attorney General Barr’s letter raises as many questions as it answers. The fact that Special Counsel Mueller’s report does not exonerate the president on a charge as serious as obstruction of justice demonstrates how urgent it is that the full report and underlying documentation be made public without any further delay,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said in a joint statement Sunday night, blasting Barr as “not a neutral observer” and claiming he “is not in a position to make objective determinations about the report.”

“Congress requires the full report and the underlying documents so that the Committees can proceed with their independent work, including oversight and legislating to address any issues the Mueller report may raise,” they continued. “The American people have a right to know.”

With Mueller’s decision not to issue a conclusion on the obstruction of justice issue, Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee said that it “[s]eems like the Department of Justice is putting matters squarely in Congress’ court,” after the release of Mueller’s findings.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., vowed to have Barr testify before the committee “in the near future,” and said there “must be full transparency” on what Mueller uncovered “to not exonerate the President from wrongdoing.”

“DOJ owes the public more than just a brief synopsis and decision not to go any further in their work,” he tweeted, adding that since Mueller did not exonerate Trump on obstruction of justice, “we must hear from AG Barr about his decision making and see all the underlying evidence for the American people to know all the facts.”

Later, Nadler, House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings, D-Md., issued a joint statement calling into question Barr’s “objectivity.”

But Barr’s letter made clear that Mueller's probe was comprehensive, raising questions as to what Democrats might hope to uncover on their own -- especially without the prosecutorial muscle and leverage employed by Mueller. Barr’s letter outlined that the special counsel “issued more than 2,800 subpoenas, executed nearly 500 search warrants, obtained more than 230 orders for communications records, issued almost 50 orders authorizing use of pen registers, made 13 requests to foreign governments for evidence, and interviewed approximately 500 witnesses.”

Barr also stated that “in cataloguing the President’s actions, many of which took place in public view, the report identifies no actions that, in our judgment, constitute obstructive conduct, had a nexus to a pending or contemplated proceeding, and were done with corrupt intent, each of which … would need to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt to establish an obstruction-of-justice offense.”

Nevertheless, the comments from Democrats underscore that they have no intention of accepting Barr’s summary report as-is—amid numerous calls for the full report’s release—or putting the collusion and obstruction issues to rest, as they continue to pursue their own congressional investigations.

Nadler’s committee is already leading an investigation into “alleged obstruction of justice, public corruption, and other abuses of power by President Trump,” which he announced earlier this month. Nadler requested documents and records from 81 individuals and entities connected, in some way, to the president.

Meanwhile, other House Democrats have aggressively ramped up their own Trump-related investigations, which are likely to include a network of committee probes and high-profile hearings that are likely to last well into the 2020 election year.

At this point, the House Intelligence Committee is probing the president’s foreign business dealings and Russian election meddling, and the House Foreign Affairs Committee, led by Chairman Eliot Engel, D-N.Y., is also probing the president’s foreign business dealings.

James Clapper Tells CNN It Was Obama Who Ordered Trump-Russia Hoax

    Posted on by DCWhispers

There needs to be just a bit of reading between the lines here but make no mistake, what James Clapper is doing here is sending out a warning flare that if he’s going down there will be a lot of others he intends to take with him—including a certain former President of the United States. (Really pay attention to how much he emphasizes Obama’s personal involvement in the process from beginning to end.)

This is a Deep State operative clearly rattled by what may soon be coming his way…

Obama Is ‘Responsible’ for Mueller Investigation, Clapper Admits

Former DNI director says it's 'important' to recognize the former president's handprints on Russia probe

    By Kathryn Blackhurst |

President Barack Obama should be credited with launching “a whole sequence of events” that led to special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russia collusion allegations, according to former Director of National Intelligence (DNI) James Clapper.

“One point I’d like to make, Anderson, that I don’t think has come up very much before — and I’m alluding now to [President Donald Trump’s] criticism of President Obama for all that he did or didn’t do before he left office with respect to the Russian meddling,” Clapper said Thursday on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360.”

Clapper added that “if it weren’t for President Obama, we might not have done the intelligence community assessment that we did that set off a whole sequence of events which are still unfolding today — notably, special counsel Mueller’s investigation.

“President Obama is responsible for that, and it was he who tasked us to do that intelligence community assessment in the first place. I think that’s an important point when it comes to critiquing President Obama.”

Trump has rebuked his predecessor repeatedly for not “doing anything about” Russia’s meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, in which he defeated former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Noting that Obama “was given information just prior to” the presidential election, Trump slammed Obama and officials in his administration, including Clapper and former CIA Director John Brennan, for their failure to act adequately.

“The reason they decided that was pretty obvious to all — they thought [2016 Democratic presidential nominee] Hillary Clinton was going to win the election, and they didn’t think it was a big deal,” Trump told reporters Tuesday. “By contrast, my administration is taking a very firm stance.”

“We’re going to take strong actions to secure our election systems and the process,” Trump added. “Unlike previous administrations, my administration has and will continue to move aggressively to [repel] any efforts … to interfere in our elections. We are doing everything in our power to prevent Russian interference in 2018.”

But Clapper wanted to ensure that Americans gave credit to Obama for the events leading to the creation of Mueller’s probe into allegations of collusion between Trump campaign officials and Russia.

“And it is not a witch hunt. It is a serious, serious investigation, the catalyst for which was the intelligence community assessment that we did in the last administration,” Clapper emphasized.

Trump has long railed against the Mueller probe as a “witch hunt,” pointing to “13 angry Democrat” donors who are in key positions on the special counsel’s staff, along with the anti-Trump and pro-Clinton text messages exchanged between FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok and former FBI lawyer Lisa Page.

Strzok participated in both Mueller’s probe and the investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server to conduct official U.S. diplomatic business during the Obama administration. Mueller removed Strzok from the collusion probe once his text messages became public.

The president has also pointed to the report from GOP members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence revealing that the FBI used the salacious anti-Trump dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele — and funded by Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee — to renew surveillance warrants against former Trump campaign advisor Carter Page.

Eric Holder goes on MAGA attack: 'Exactly when did you think America was great?'

    Greg Norman

    Published

It turns out New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo isn’t the only prominent Democrat who questions whether America was ever that great.

In pointed terms during an interview with MSNBC on Wednesday, Obama-era attorney general Eric Holder posed the question to MAGA-chanting Trump supporters: "Exactly when did you think America was great?"

The comments echoed those of Cuomo, who took heavy criticism for remarking last year that America “was never that great.” Together, both off-the-cuff comments amount to stunning statements from public figures who until recently were considered potential presidential candidates. In both cases, the Democrats took shots at America's past as part of an effort to criticize President Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan.

After speaking during Wednesday's MSNBC interview with Holder on topics like criminal justice reform and partisan redistricting – which the ex-AG says is now his focus instead of running for the White House in 2020 – host Ari Melber had asked him: “There is a lot of talk about America being a leader as a democracy, quote unquote, in the 1800s when women and African-Americans couldn’t vote. What kind of democracy is that?”

Holder, unprovoked, then used his answer to tear into Trump's campaign rally cry.

"That's exactly right. And that's what I hear these things about 'let’s make America great again' and I think to myself, ‘exactly when did you think America was great’?” he said on the show.

“It certainly wasn’t when people were enslaved. It certainly wasn’t when women didn’t have the right to vote. It certainly wasn’t when the LGBT community was denied the rights to which it was entitled."

Melber then asked Holder if he believes Trump’s 2016 campaign slogan had discriminatory undertones.

“Does that phrase echo as discrimination in your ears?” the MSNBC host asked.

“It takes us back to what I think, an American past that never in fact really existed. This notion of greatness,” Holder replied.

“You know, America has done superb things. It has done great things. And it has been a leader in you know, a whole range of things. But we are always a work in process and … looking back, ‘Make America Great Again’ is inconsistent with who we are as Americans at our best where we look at the uncertain future, embrace it and make it our own.”

Holder’s comments Wednesday echo remarks made by Cuomo last year in which he drew gasps and chuckles from an audience by declaring that America “was never that great.”

“We’re not going to make America great again. It was never that great,” Cuomo said during a bill signing event in New York last August. “We have not reached greatness, we will reach greatness when every American is fully engaged, we will reach greatness when discrimination and stereotyping against women, 51 percent of our population, is gone and every woman’s full potential is realized and unleashed and every woman is making her full contribution,” he continued.

Cuomo’s office later was in damage control mode and said the governor “believes America is great and that her full greatness will be fully realized when every man, woman and child has full equality.”

“America has not yet reached its maximum potential,” it added.

Eric Holder: Americans Need Training to Understand ‘Racial Baggage’

    Joshua Caplan

Appearing Wednesday evening on MSNBC, former Attorney General Eric Holder told host Ari Melber that Americans require “training” to help them realize the extent of the “racial baggage” and “bias” they have towards people of color.

The Obama-era attorney general’s comments were part of a wider discussion about the criminal justice system and whether Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort would have received a stricter prison sentence if he was African-American.

A partial transcript is as follows:

ARI MELBER: I’m thinking about the judges who assessed to Paul Manafort, and as you know, there are people who said, “oh one of the judges are good and the other wasn’t.” But, both judges assessed him as this sort of courtly grandfatherly figure. Judge Jackson said that he didn’t seem likely to re-offend, when Mr. Manafort had re-offended after his charges. And I thought, would any judge, again, I don’t want to single a judge out. But, would those judges be as likely to say that about a first time young black male offender?

ERIC HOLDER: You know, I don’t want to talk about the judges, those judges in particular, but I do worry that judges are like all other Americans, carry with them implicit biases and especially in the criminal justice sphere.

MELBER: How do you fix it?

HOLDER: Well, you certainly have to have training. You have to make people aware of the fact that they do carry these biases and make them understand, you know, that if you see an African-American defendant in front of you that’s probably triggers things in your mind unconsciously, subconsciously and you’re perhaps going to treat that person differently that somebody who shows up in a tie and you know that has a great lawyer they had paid for. You would maybe cut that person a break that you wouldn’t otherwise give to a Hispanic or African-American defendant. People have to be just aware of that and then that training has to continue. But, these are the kind of things that all of us as Americans have to deal with. We all carry this racial baggage. I think the younger generation to a lesser degree than people in my generation, but it is still there.

Paul: Source said Brennan, Clapper and Comey pushed dossier, tried to 'bring down a sitting president
By Victor Garcia | Fox News
    Published

Sen. Paul: Source said Brennan, Clapper and Comey pushed discredited dossier, tried to 'bring down a sitting president'

Senator Rand Paul, R-Ky., claims a credible source told him that former CIA director John Brennan, along with former National Intelligence director James Clapper and former FBI director James Comey pushed the discredited Christopher Steele dossier in an effort to bring down President Trump.

“My source tells me that the intelligence community, Obama's intelligence community Brennan, Clapper, Comey, they were frustrated because they had this Russian dossier but nobody believed it was real... they couldn't get anything out of it,” Paul claimed on "Fox & Friends" Thursday.

“Finally they decided well what we have to do is attach this dossier, this fake dossier, to an intelligence report. So now Obama is officially seeing it and then also it's given to Trump at this point. But realize that this is a big circle that had the dossier for months and months. So when John McCain is given the dossier it's given to him by people who may have leaked it from our government to John McCain, so John McCain and give it back to the FBI. I mean it's a crazy circle all trying to justify something that wasn't true.”

Paul added, “But extraordinary power of these people and extraordinary corruption… they tried to bring down a sitting president.”

The senator originally tweeted about the allegation on Wednesday.

"BREAKING: A high-level source tells me it was Brennan who insisted that the unverified and fake Steele dossier be included in the Intelligence Report... Brennan should be asked to testify under oath in Congress ASAP," Paul wrote.

Brennan, appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Monday and lamented he may have received “bad information” that led him to predict the president or members of his staff would be indicted when the Mueller report was released.

Brennan earlier this month appeared on MSNBC’s “The Last Word” and said a “criminal conspiracy involving the Russians” was developing during his tenure as CIA director.

The Kentucky senator says his source is “someone who has a great deal of information about what's been going on” adding that “nobody knows the complete picture yet.”

Paul also said he supports President Trump’s plan to release the full and unredacted Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants and related documents used by the FBI to probe his campaign and figure out how the Russia collusion narrative began.

"I do, I have plans to declassify and release. I have plans to absolutely release," Trump told Sean Hannity Wednesday.

Paul also supports the full Mueller report being released but only in conjunction with the Obama era information.

“I'm okay with the Mueller report coming out completely. But in addition, we need to have information on Obama White House officials, Comey, Brennan, Clapper. That should be part of it because the report is the conclusion at the beginning is why did we get to the report in the beginning. And if someone misused their office,” Paul said.

“So Democrats want the complete Muller report. I'm going to object until we get a complete report of all the Obama era officials that got this thing started.”

So Many Questions- Comey, Niebuhr and the Red Thread

    Wednesday, March 27, 2019 2:48 AM
    By: Diana West

You can say that again, @Comey.

I'll start with this question: How did you, a lifelong devote of Reinhold Niebuhr's Christianity-cloaked Marxism, ever become Director of the FBI, and, before that, Deputy Attorney General of the United States?

The short answer is perhaps twofold. First, no one bothered to explore your intense admiration for Niebuhr's anti-Constitutional conception of government-coerced "justice"; second, few among the cynics and manipulators in charge of the US government find anything alarming about it. On the contrary, it gave you instant entree into Club Deep State.

No wonder you and you "law enforcement twin" Robert Mueller) were seen in the Clinton Justice Department as "rising stars mentored and guided by Eric Holder in the 1990s." Transformative change is a mutli-generational, two-party thing.

Truth be told, I didn't know much about Reinhold Niebuhr when I began studying Comey -- along with Nellie Ohr the Stalin apologist, Christopher Steele the "confirmed socialist," John Brennan the Gus Hall voter, and other anti-Trump conspirators whose ideological portraits including "red threads" are now unveiled in The Red Thread: A Search for Ideological Drivers Inside the Anti-Trump Conspiracy.

In a nutshell, Niebuhr's conception of "justice" is totalitarian, which is probably not what most Americans want in their Deputy AG or FBI Director. As the Trump-Russia hoax tells us, however, these amoral and anti-democratic beliefs are common, if kept quiet, at the highest levels of our government.

James Comey not only wrote a college honors paper on Reinhold Niebuhr in 1982, he was still talking about Niebuhr's influence on ascending to the No. 2 slot at the Justice Department in 2003. He used "Reinhold Niebuhr" as his secret alias on Twitter until 2017, and, in 2018. in response to a question in about influential books he had read, he named two titles by Niebuhr.

So what? To begin with, both books were written during Niebuhr's most militant years, when, as a member of the Socialist Party, he lobbied for US normalization of relations with the Bolshevik regime in Moscow in 1933, and carried the following message to students on campus, according to the AP: "Urges Use of Force for New Social Order."

Incidentally, that was just the beginning for Niebuhr's hard Left "activism." He would go all in for the "Red Decade" of the 1930s, hopscotching among Communist front groups, as identified by FDR Attorney General Francis Biddle. These included a stint on the advisory board of he American League for Peace and Democracy. At one time boasting 7.5 million members, this Communist super-front group was identified by AG Biddle in a “strictly confidential” memo as an organization “established in the United States in an effort to create public sentiment on behalf of a foreign policy adapted to the interests of the Soviet Union.”

What a fabulous role model for a a future "Republican" FBI Director destined to participate in a failed coup against the duly elected POTUS! But so it was that Comey, as a self-identified communist in the early 1980s at William & Mary, found his intellectual crush.

It was just the beginning of his own Red Thread.

Mark Levin: McCabe, Clapper and Brennan Should be Dragged Before a Federal Grand Jury Because They Were Involved in a Coup Effort

    by Jim Hoft

    March 24, 2019

Author, radio and TV host Mark Levin joined FOX and Friends Weekend this Sunday morning to discuss the Mueller investigation and the final report that is expected out on Sunday.

Mark Levin weighed in on Mueller and FBI and the constant leaks to the liberal media over the past two years.

Levin then goes off on “Mediagate” the constant drumbeat of lies and propaganda pushed by the liberal media on the American people for the past two years on Russia and the Trump-collusion nonsense.

    Mark Levin:
We have an iron triangle here. The Hillary Campaign that funded the dossier, the Obama administration, the Department of Justice that other intelligence agencies, and the media. The media that is supposed to watch the powerful. The media that is supposed to watch the government, threw in with this government, in order to take out Donald Trump… What are the Democrats doing? The Democrats are not trying to interfere with the criminal justice system… They’re threatening the Attorney General with subpoenas. They’re threatening the Special Counsel with subpoenas. They’re demanding access to all this secret information, all the underlying information. They want the Attorney General to violate his oath. To violate the regulations to violate the 20 year law.

Ed Henry: What should happen to McCabe, Clapper and Brennan?

Mark Levin: First of all these men are very un-American. What they’ve said is outrageous. They should know better. They have the former head of national intelligence under Obama, the former head of the CIA under Obama, a top FBI official under Obama. These three men should be dragged in front of a federal grand jury. They should testify about everything they did and everything they knew. Because they, especially McCabe were involved in a coup effort. They did not indict anyone for collusion because there is no such crime as collusion and if there was nobody did it.

Andrew McCarthy: How long has Mueller known there was no Trump-Russia collusion?

By Andrew McCarthy | Fox News

Former assistant U.S. attorney and Fox News contributor Andy McCarthy says special counsel Mueller never had a collusion case to begin with.

Almost from the start, Democrats and their media echo chamber have moved the goal posts on collusion. The original allegation – the political narrative that the Clinton campaign, through Obama administration alchemy, honed into a counterintelligence investigation – was that that the Trump campaign was complicit in Russia’s “cyberespionage” attacks on the 2016 election.

But there was no evidence that candidate Trump and his surrogates had anything to do with the Kremlin’s hacking and propaganda schemes. And no supporting logic. The Russians are very good at espionage. They neither needed nor wanted American help, their operations predated Trump’s entry into the campaign, and some of those operations were anti-Trump.

Nevertheless, in short order, that endlessly elastic word, collusion, was being stretched to the breaking point – covering every conceivable type of association between Trump associates and Russia.

Some of these were unseemly, such as the Trump Tower meeting, an apparently unsuccessful effort to obtain campaign dirt on Hillary Clinton. More of them were routine, such as incoming national-security adviser Michael Flynn’s communications with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the post-election transition. But none of these collusion episodes were criminal. The only “collusion” prosecutors care about is conspiracy; a criminal agreement to violate a federal penal statute – such as the laws against hacking.

There was never any such evidence. There was just unverified, sensational, hearsay nonsense – the Steele dossier generated by the Clinton campaign.

Now that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has concluded that there was no criminal collusion, the question arises: When during their exhaustive 22-month investigation did prosecutors realize they had no case?

I put it at no later than the end of 2017. I suspect it was in the early autumn.

By the time Mueller was appointed on May 17, 2017, the FBI had been trying unsuccessfully for nearly a year to corroborate the dossier’s allegations. Top bureau officials have conceded to congressional investigators that they were never able to do so – notwithstanding that, by the time of Mueller’s appointment, the Justice Department and FBI had relied on the dossier three times, in what they labeled “VERIFIED” applications, to obtain warrants from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.

And make no mistake about what this means. In each and every application, after describing the hacking operations carried out by Russian operatives, the Justice Department asserted:

The FBI believes that the Russian Government’s efforts to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election were being coordinated with Page and perhaps other individuals associated with [Donald Trump’s] campaign.
Now that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has concluded that there was no criminal collusion, the question arises: When during their exhaustive 22-month investigation did prosecutors realize they had no case?

Yes, the Justice Department continued to make that allegation to the secret federal court for months after Trump was sworn in as president.

Notably, in June 2017, about a month after Mueller took over the investigation, while he was still getting his bearings, the Justice Department and the FBI went on to obtain a fourth FISA warrant. Yet again, they used the same unverified information. Yet again, they withheld from the court the fact that this information was generated by the Clinton campaign; that the Clinton campaign was peddling it to the media at the same time the FBI was providing it to the court; and that Christopher Steele, the informant on whom they were so heavily relying, had misled the bureau about his media contacts.

You know what’s most telling about this fourth FISA warrant? The fact that it was never renewed. The 90-day authorization lapsed in September 2017. When it did, Mueller did not seek to extend it with a new warrant.

Think about that for a moment. President Trump fired FBI Director Comey on May 9, 2017. Eight days later, on May 17, Mueller was named special counsel. This appointment effectively wrested control of the Trump-Russia counterintelligence investigation from acting FBI director Andrew McCabe, transferring it to the special counsel.

By August 2017, Mueller had removed the lead investigator, Agent Peter Strzok over the rabidly anti-Trump texts he’d exchanged with Lisa Page, a top FBI lawyer who served as McCabe’s counsel. Page herself had resigned in May. Meanwhile, the FBI reassigned its top counsel, James Baker (who later resigned); and the bureau’s inspection division referred McCabe to the Justice Department’s inspector general for leaking investigative information and then lying about it (and McCabe was later fired and referred to the Justice Department for possible prosecution).

This means that by autumn 2017 when it would have been time to go back to the court and reaffirm the dossier’s allegations of a Trump-Russia espionage conspiracy, the major FBI officials involved in placing those unverified allegations before the court had been sidelined. Clearly up to speed after four months of running the investigation, Mueller decided not to renew these allegations.

Once the fourth warrant lapsed in September, investigators made no new claims of a Trump-Russia conspiracy to the court. The collusion case was the Clinton campaign’s Steele dossier, and by autumn 2017, the investigators now in charge of the Trump-Russia investigation were unwilling to stand behind it.

In order to get the FISA warrants, the Justice Department and the FBI had had to allege that there was probable cause to believe former Trump adviser Carter Page was an agent of Russia. Under FISA law, that requires alleging that he was knowingly involved in clandestine activity on behalf of Russia, and that this clandestine activity involved probable violations of American criminal law – offenses such as espionage. Yet, despite the fact that this representation was made four times in sworn “verified” applications, Mueller never charged Page with a crime – not espionage, not false statements, nothing.

When Special Counsel Mueller closed his investigation last week, he almost certainly knew for about a year and a half that there was no collusion case. Indeed, the indictments that he did bring appeared to preclude the possibility that the Trump campaign conspired with the Kremlin.

Yet the investigation continued. The Justice Department and the special counsel made no announcement, no interim finding of no collusion, as Trump detractors continued to claim that a sitting American president might be a tool of the Putin regime. For month after month, the president was forced to govern under a cloud of suspicion.

    Why?

CONFIRMED… DNC WAS IN ON IT! Hillary Campaign Mgr. Was Pushing Fake Russia Story at DNC Convention – SAME DAY FBI Launched Trump-Russia Investigation!

by Jim Hoft April 7, 2019

It’s amazing sometimes how you can look back and put the pieces together on major events after the ultimate truth comes out. We now know that the Trump-Russia collusion delusion was a lie. But looking back we see that the entire DNC was in on it from the beginning!

On July 25th, 2016, the DNC was kicking off its convention amidst the release of thousands of emails showing the DNC working exclusively with the Hillary campaign in alleged illegal ways. Bernie Sanders never had a chance and the DNC chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, resigned on July 28th in shame during what was to be her pinnacle moment as Chair.

During this same time as the convention was kicking off, with hindsight, something startling was happening, the DNC started sharing the false Russia narrative that morphed into Trump – Russia collusion. Per CBSnews at that time –

The U.S. believes that people working for the Russian government are behind the hack of internal emails at the Democratic National Committee, officials confirmed Tuesday to CBS News.

A U.S. intelligence official told CBS News that the signature of the breach is Russian and the U.S. government has identified methods and techniques used by Russia in past hacks that mirror those used in the DNC incursion.

“We understand how hack groups use the Internet to attack. The pattern and launch point used before by Russians is similar to the DNC attack,” the official said.

A cyber analyst quoted by the Associated Press, Michael Buratowski with Fidelis Cybersecurity, which investigated the hack, said he was near certain that Russia was the culprit, based on the use by the hackers of “Russian internet addresses, Russian language keyboards, and the time codes corresponding to business hours in Russia, as well as the sophistication of the hack,” according to the AP.

The official also said the “DNC was told before the convention that something was going on,” but “they took some time to respond.”
Hillary Clinton campaign manager had more to say –

Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager Robby Mook has said that he believes Russian hackers are behind the disclosure, and they did it to benefit Donald Trump. He cited experts quoted in the Washington Post and New York Times who “believe that the Russians have that information they were the ones that turned it over to the Wikileaks and other hackers to push out, to harm Secretary Clinton and help Donald Trump.”
This CBSnews tale was posted on July 26th, 2016.

Funny, but at the same time, the FBI kicked off its corrupt Trump – Russia collusion investigation. Yes, at this exact same time the FBI started its fraudulent investigation into candidate Trump!

Was the US intelligence officer that leaked this story to CBS the corrupt agent Peter Strzok? Or was it his paramour the corrupt Lisa Page?

The connections between the entire Democrat Party and the deep state actors who created the fake Trump – Russia conspiracy run deep!

CIA Analyst Larry Johnson, U.K. Spied On Trump Campaign, Passed Info To Obama Team

'CIA Analyst Larry Johnson, U.K. Spied On Trump Campaign, Passed Info To Obama Team

Former CIA and State Department analyst Larry Johnson told One America News reporter Neil W. McCabe that the United Kingdom’s intelligence services spied on the 2016 Trump campaign, and then passed on information to the Obama administration.

The intelligence sharing was through the so-called ‘Five Eyes’ cooperative of the intelligence services of the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Johnson said the U.K. intercepted emails and phone calls from George Papadapoulos, an American living in London, and gave them to the U.S., and that this is how this otherwise unknown campaign volunteer became a central figure in the Russian Collusion Hoax.

President Trump noticed the OANN report and tweeted accordingly…

“Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson accuses United Kingdom Intelligence of helping Obama Administration Spy on the 2016 Trump Presidential Campaign.” @OANN WOW! It is now just a question of time before the truth comes out, and when it does, it will be a beauty!

BREAKING UPDATE: Findings in the Upcoming IG Report Are Said to be “Devastating” — Obama Interfered in Election More Than Vlad Putin!

by Jim Hoft April 25, 2019 782 Comments

Former US Attorney Joe diGenova joined former Governor Mike Huckabee and Trump Attorney Rudy Giuliani Wednesday night on The Ingraham Angle.

DiGenova told the panel the Inspector General report and a solo report on James Comey are coming out in about two weeks. DiGenova says the report will contain criminal referrals.

Joe DiGenova: The Horowitz report is coming out in May or early June. There’s another report that everyone has forgotten about involving James Comey alone. That will be out in two weeks. That report is going to be a bombshell. It is going to open up the investigation on a very high note and there are going to be criminal referrals in it.

On Thursday investigative reporter dropped another bomb on the upcoming Inspector General (IG) report.

According to PaulSperry, “FBI agents Joe Pientka and Mike Gaeta, along with DOJ official Stu Evans, are figuring prominently as witnesses in IG Horowitz’s investigation of department FISA abuses. The findings in the forthcoming IG report are said to be “devastating.”

Paul Sperry then added something we already knew, it appears Barack Obama and his administration had a heavier hand in interfering in the 2016 election than Putin!

New York Times Admits Obama Admin Deployed Multiple Spies Against Trump Campaign In 2016

The New York Times admitted on Thursday that the Obama administration deployed multiple spies against the Trump campaign in 2016, confirming recent comments by Attorney General William Barr that 'spying did occur' during the campaign.

    By Mollie Hemingway
    May 2, 2019

Following months of angry claims by journalists and Democratic operatives that the Obama administration never spied on Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, The New York Times admitted Thursday that multiple overseas intelligence assets were deployed against associates of the Republican nominee. It is not the first time the Times has revealed widespread spying operations against the campaign.

In addition to noting that long-time informant Stefan Halper was tasked with collecting intelligence on the Trump campaign, the Times story details how a woman was sent overseas under a fake name and occupation to oversee the spy operation. The woman’s real name is not mentioned in the article, though the Times says she went by “Azra Turk” and has a relationship with an unidentified federal intelligence agency.

Halper was handpicked by a seasoned FBI counterintelligence agent out of the New York office, according to the article. While the Times does not identify the agent by name, the paper says the FBI agent spoke at a conference organized by Halper about a 2010 case involving Russians posing as Americans. The public schedule for a 2011 conference hosted by Halper about the exact same case shows that three FBI counterintelligence agents were invited to speak on the topic.

The three agents publicly identified as speaking at that conference on the topic are George J. Ennis, Jr., Alan E. Kohler, Jr., and Stephen M. Somma. Ennis currently serves as the special agent in charge in the FBI’s New York office, according to his LinkedIn profile, and worked closely with Preet Bharara, former U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, a virulent anti-Trump activist whom the president fired in 2017.

The public schedule for a 2014 conference led by Halper shows that Kohler also spoke to the same group about the same Russian case on May 9, 2014.

“Alan Kohler the FBI representative at the United States Embassy in London will talk about the challenges of modern counter espionage: including the case of Anna Chapman and other Russian illegals,” the schedule noted.

A representative for the FBI’s office in Norfolk, where Kohler worked as of March 2017, said he is no longer with that office. The representative, who refused to provide her name, did not say when or why Kohler left that office or whether he was still employed by the FBI. The FBI’s New York office did not respond to queries about the current employment status of Kohler, Ennis, or Somma.

“Turk,” the U.S. intelligence operative who claimed to work as Halper’s assistant, had previously been identified to George Papadopoulos, whom she targeted, as a spy who rather blatantly tried to plumb him for information about Russia and other topics. After the Times published its article on “Turk,” Papadopolous wrote on Twitter that she “clearly was not FBI” and instead “was CIA and affiliated with Turkish intel.”

“She could hardly speak English and was tasked to meet me about my work in the energy sector offshore Israel/Cyprus which Turkey was competing with,” Papadopoulos wrote.

The NYT also admits in its article that the aggressive and unprecedented action of deploying spies and luring American targets overseas to collect intelligence on a rival political campaign “yielded no fruitful information.” It is not clear whether information collected by Halper and “Turk” was used to justify formal spy warrants against any U.S. citizens.

    Why Leak This News Now?

The New York Times has repeatedly been used by FBI officials who ran the anti-Trump spy operation to launder damaging information that reflects poorly on the agency. Nearly a year ago, the Times confirmed that the U.S. intelligence apparatus was used to spy on Trump’s presidential campaign in 2016.

While that article included explosive revelations, it downplayed their significance and later curiously denied that any spying had ever occurred:

The F.B.I. investigated four unidentified Trump campaign aides in those early months, congressional investigators revealed in February. The four men were Michael T. Flynn, Paul Manafort, Carter Page and Mr. Papadopoulos, current and former officials said …

The F.B.I. obtained phone records and other documents using national security letters — a secret type of subpoena — officials said. And at least one government informant met several times with Mr. Page and Mr. Papadopoulos, current and former officials said.
In that case, the ostensible purpose of the leak was to get ahead of what congressional investigators had figured out: the Obama administration targeted the Trump campaign with secret informants.

The leak that fueled the Thursday NYT bombshell was likely placed in anticipation of the formal release of even more damaging information about how U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies potentially abused their authority to punish the government’s political enemies. The article specifically references the forthcoming release of an extensive inspector general review of potential improprieties at the Department of Justice (DOJ).

By leaking the information to the friendliest of friendly reporters, including Michael Schmidt at the Times, the individuals who ran the anti-Trump operation are likely hoping to spin the news in their favor.

    This Explains the Anti-Barr Freakout

So long as anti-Trump operatives controlled the FBI and DOJ, this type of leaking and concealing of information worked well. Most major media outlets have chosen to ignore the spying scandal in favor of non-stop anti-Trump advocacy. That left actual fact-finding and truth-seeking to a small group of media outlets and a handful of elected lawmakers tasked with oversight of the nation’s spy agencies.

When William Barr took over as attorney general, it was the first time in years the agency had any real political accountability. Trump’s first attorney general recused himself from overseeing anything related to the 2016 campaign, and his deputy who took over is alleged to have been involved in a conspiracy to oust the president.

While Barr was adamant that Mueller’s special counsel probe be unimpeded and his report fully published, he scared the anti-Trump forces in and out of government when he said spying on opposing political campaigns is inappropriate. His public vow to examine whether the widespread spying operation against Trump and his affiliates was lawful and appropriate sent shockwaves through an organized anti-Trump political operation that had completely controlled the narrative until recently.

Pelosi (this morning) toys with arresting Mnuchin — ‘We do have a little jail down in the basement’

COSTA: “How far can you go on that front, Speaker Pelosi? Could you hold the Secretary of Treasury Steven Mnuchin in contempt? Some Democrats have even raised the prospect of arresting the Treasury secretary if he does not comply with congressional demands?”

PELOSI: “Well, let me just say that we — (Applause) — we do have a jail down in the basement of the Capitol. (Laughter) But if we were arresting all of the people in the administration — (Laughter) — we would have overcrowded jail situation, and I’m not for that. But I think again, getting to the committee, Richie Neal, the chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, he has a path — again all of this is so low and precedent-based to do the right thing as we go forward. And there are several options. One of them is to go directly to court.”

Pelosi announces resolution condemning Trump tweets

    By Emily Tillett

    Updated on: July 15, 2019 / 2:04 PM / CBS News

As fallout continues from President Trump's tweets telling a group of Democratic congresswomen to "go back" to their countries, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is looking to counter the president's comments legislatively by introducing a resolution to officially condemn Mr. Trump's remarks.

In a letter to her Democratic colleagues on Monday, Pelosi wrote that Mr. Trump "went beyond his own low standards using disgraceful language about Members of Congress." Mr. Trump targeted freshmen Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Pressley and Ilhan Omar in his series of tweets on Sunday.

"Let me be clear, our Caucus will continue to forcefully respond to these disgusting attacks," she urged.

While light on details, the legislation is co-sponsored by Rep. Tom Malinowski, who Pelosi notes was born abroad, and Rep. Jamie Raskin, "along with other Democratic Members born abroad." Currently, there are 11 naturalized citizens serving as Members of Congress.

"The House cannot allow the President's characterization of immigrants to our country to stand. Our Republican colleagues must join us in condemning the President's xenophobic tweets," Pelosi added.

Pelosi is the second Democrat to propose such a move after Texas Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee tweeted that she would be drafting a similar resolution of condemnation against Mr. Trump. It's unclear how, if at all, Lee's draft would be folded into Pelosi's legislation.

The action comes after Mr. Trump doubled down on his tweets and told reporters at the White House on Monday that he does not think tweets were racist.

"If you're not happy here then you can leave as far as I'm concerned if you hate our country, if you're not happy here, you can leave," he said at a White House event.

"And that's what I say all the time, that's what I said in tweet, which I guess some people think is controversial. A lotta people love it by the way. But if you're not happy in the U.S., if you're complaining all the time, very simply you can leave. you can leave right now. come back if you want, don't come back, its ok too. But if you're not happy you can leave."

"Death Camps For Trump Supporters" Fliers Posted In New York

    by Tyler Durden
    Wed, 08/07/2019 - 08:31
Authored by Paul Joseph Watson via Summit News,

Numerous fliers that say “death camps for Trump supporters now!!!” have been posted on street posts and parking meters in Patchogue, New York.

The fliers feature the threatening text in red and a stylized image of Trump’s face as a skeleton.

The fliers were “hanging across the street from Stanley’s Bedding Furniture on East Main Street, between Maple Avenue and North Ocean Avenue,” according to MSN News.

The photos were taken by a member of the Shock Theater collective, a group that lays on haunted house tours and horror scenarios, but the company said it was not responsible for creating or posting the fliers.

Suffolk County police said they weren’t alerted to the fliers, which now appear to have been removed.

New York Times Admits ‘We Built Our Newsroom’ Around Russia Collusion Hoax

    Monica Schipper/Getty, Mladen Antonov/AFP/Getty
    John Nolte
    16 Aug 2019

New York Times executive editor Dean Baquet accidentally admitted to the whole wide world that for two years his far-left newspaper was “built” around spreading a hoax.

When I say “accidentally,” what I mean is that he likely didn’t know he was being secretly recorded and that his remarks would be made public.

He also admitted the Times’ staff is loaded with left-wingers “who cheer us when we take on Donald Trump, but they jeer at us when we take on Joe Biden.”

    Yeah, there’s a real shocker.

Slate somehow got a hold of a recording of a company-wide meeting Baquet held with his left-wing staffers, and it is an illuminating look, not only at the fall of the Times’ own credibility, but how the news media in general has been infested with entitled, left-wing cry-bullies who only want to see the media used — not to inform the public — but to propagandize left-wing causes.

What I mean is that the whole reason for this meeting was to placate a newsroom full of babies who are still pouting over that one time the Times did not slam Trump in a headline.

Here’s Baquet admitting that for two whole years — two years, y’all — his lousy newspaper was “built” around the Russia Collusion Hoax:

It got trickier after [inaudible] … went from being a story about whether the Trump campaign had colluded with Russia and obstruction of justice to being a more head-on story about the president’s character. We built our newsroom to cover one story, and we did it truly well.

    “Did it truly well”???

For two years he misled his readers into believing Trump colluded with Russia, even though there was not a shred of evidence proving Trump colluded with Russia.

For two years, the Times published a load of lies — lie after lie after lie after lie — rumors, innuendo, Maggie Haberman’s neurotic paranoia, and unsourced nonsense to build a collusion unicorn out of fairy dust.

    Yeah, great job.

Here’s Baquet admitting the Times will now focus on another hoax, the hoax that Trump is racist:

Now we have to regroup, and shift resources and emphasis to take on a different story. I’d love your help with that. As Audra Burch said when I talked to her this weekend, this one is a story about what it means to be an American in 2019. It is a story that requires deep investigation into people who peddle hatred[.]

If Trump was truly a racist, the media would not have to lie to prove he’s a racist, would not have to invent the Very Fine People Hoax.

Here’s Baquet admitting Dirty Cop Bob Mueller disappointed his left-wing readers by not taking Trump out:

The day Bob Mueller walked off that witness stand, two things happened. Our readers who want Donald Trump to go away suddenly thought, “Holy shit, Bob Mueller is not going to do it.” And Donald Trump got a little emboldened politically, I think. Because, you know, for obvious reasons. And I think that the story changed. A lot of the stuff we’re talking about started to emerge like six or seven weeks ago. We’re a little tiny bit flat-footed. I mean, that’s what happens when a story looks a certain way for two years. Right?

Well, why were your readers so disappointed, Dino? Maybe because your godawful paper blew the story, because you handed the reins of a crazy conspiracy theory over to that lying, sea hag Haberman, and for two years you promised your readers Mueller had the goods and Mueller Time! was going to be the end of Drumpf.

But guess who wasn’t caught flat-footed, Dino? Outlets like Breitbart News; that’s right, those of us who knew the New York Times and CNN and the Washington Post were throwing Russian monkey poop, who time and again and again debunked your nonsense, who looked at the evidence (there was none!) and knew immediately it was all a hoax.

You were caught “flat-footed” because you suck at your job, because you are appeasing your rabid customers instead of informing them.

The tail now wags the dog that is the New York Times. For decades the Times went out of its arrogant and sanctimonious way to insult and antagonize right-of-center readers, and now that no one on the right subscribes to the Times anymore, it can either go out of business or appease and cater to its left-wing customer base. So now the customers are in charge, the customers are choosing the headlines, the customers are the true executive editors.

And because there is no intellectual diversity among the staff at the Times, those inmates also run much of the asylum.

Baquet pretty much spends the rest of the 90 minutes meeting fielding questions from individuals who are supposed to be professionals but who only want to know how they can call Trump and his supporters racists even more often.

You see, according to the Times’ staff, everything is racist because everything really is racist.

You probably think that whole “everything is racist” thing is me being sarcastic. Here’s a direct quote from a staffer [emphasis added]:

Hello, I have another question about racism. I’m wondering to what extent you think that the fact of racism and white supremacy being sort of the foundation of this country should play into our reporting. Just because it feels to me like it should be a starting point, you know? Like these conversations about what is racist, what isn’t racist. I just feel like racism is in everything. It should be considered in our science reporting, in our culture reporting, in our national reporting. And so, to me, it’s less about the individual instances of racism, and sort of how we’re thinking about racism and white supremacy as the foundation of all of the systems in the country.

    Good grief.

What a dispiriting and not-at-all surprising look at the ignorant whack jobs in charge of our media — and in the case of the New York Times, not just the media, but what is considered the elite of the media elite. What are they obsessed with? What do these conspiracy-loons see everywhere in 2019 America…?

    Raaaaaaacism.

Here we sit in the most tolerant, diverse country in the world just a few years after having twice elected a black president with the middle name “Hussein,” and the people in charge of the media are breaking down into pools of self-pity because they want to scream racist at us even more than they already have.

And again, let’s not forget that the only way they can try to pretend America is racist is by way of massive hoaxes: the Very Fine People Hoax, the Covington Hoax, the George Zimmerman Is White Hoax, the Hands Up Don’t Shoot Hoax, the Jussie Smollett Hoax, and the countless hoax hate crimes they spread over and over and over again without scrutiny.

    Meanwhile…

This very same New York Times has no desire whatsoever to cover a truly disturbing rise in antisemitic hate crimes in its own city. And why not? Well, because those crimes are politically inconvenient, are not committed by the correct people.

Again, I’m not being sarcastic… The New York Times openly admits that anti-Jewish hate crimes don’t interest the Times because white supremacists are not behind them [emphasis added]:

If anti-Semitism bypasses consideration as a serious problem in New York, it is to some extent because it refuses to conform to an easy narrative with a single ideological enemy. During the past 22 months, not one person caught or identified as the aggressor in an anti-Semitic hate crime has been associated with a far right-wing group, Mark Molinari, commanding officer of the police department’s Hate Crimes Task Force, told me.

In fact, it is the varied backgrounds of people who commit hate crimes in the city that make combating and talking about anti-Semitism in New York much harder.

So let’s boil it down… The New York Times spent two years spreading a hoax, will spend the next year spreading another hoax about Trump being racist, and has no interest in covering an actual rise in anti-Jewish hate crimes because the haters are not wearing MAGA hats.

You see this mess, and you see the company forced to stop publishing political cartoons because the editorial staff can’t recognize blatant antisemitism, and you wonder: maybe these journalists aren’t qualified to lecture Americans on bigotry?

This isn’t a newspaper. The Times is now a drug dealer out to give the hate-addicted a regular dose of that hate, a hit of the endorphin rush of anti-Trump conspiracy theories…

If you want to know what’s happening in the world, don’t bother with the Times.

But if you’re interested in the fake news excesses the Times’ is willing to prostitute itself with for a buck, click on over.

Comey Demands Apology Despite Violating FBI Policies

    Hannah Bleau

Former FBI Director James Comey demanded an apology following the Justice Department’s inspector general report revealing he did violate FBI policies.

The DOJ inspector general released a report on Comey’s handling of the Russia probe – which ultimately found no evidence of collusion or conspiracy – and concluded he violated FBI policies by leaking 2017 memos from his conversations with President Trump. The report said Comey set a “dangerous example” and acknowledged his actions were rooted in achieving “a personally desired outcome.”

“However, Comey’s own, personal conception of what was necessary was not an appropriate basis for ignoring the policies and agreements governing the use of FBI records,” the report states.

“We conclude that Comey’s retention, handling, and dissemination of certain Memos violated Department and FBI policies, and his FBI Employment Agreement,” it concludes:

Yet again, rogue FBI Director James Comey was found to believe the rules just didn't apply to him.

To me most important part of this IG report: Comey set a “dangerous example” for FBI employees in an attempt to
    “achieve a personally desired outcome.”

    However, the DOJ declined prosecution.

“Upon completing its investigation, the OIG provided its factual findings to the Justice Department for a prosecutorial decision regarding Comey’s conduct, as required by the Inspector General Act,” the office stated.

“After reviewing the matter, the DOJ declined prosecution,” it added.

Comey responded in a pair of tweets, smugly demanding an apology from his critics, despite the report concluding he did, in fact, violate FBI policies.

“OJ IG ‘found no evidence that Comey or his attorneys released any of the classified information contained in any of the memos to members of the media,'” Comey wrote.

“I don’t need a public apology from those who defamed me, but a quick message with a ‘sorry we lied about you’ would be nice,” he continued:

BREAKING!! DOJ Inspector General Releases James Comey Report!!

    Link to Comey Report…..

The report is 83 pages long.

    Conclusion….
Comey Violated Department and FBI Policies Pertaining to the Retention, Handling, and Dissemination of FBI Records and Information

    OIG Analysis …………………………………………………………………………. 52
    A. The Memos were FBI Records…………………………………………….. 52
    B. Comey Violated Department and FBI Policies Pertaining to the
Retention, Handling, and Dissemination of FBI Records and
    Information…………………………………………………………………… 54
    1. Comey Failed to Return Memos 2, 4, 6, and 7 after Being
Removed as FBI Director ………………………………………….. 55
    2. Comey Improperly Disclosed FBI Documents and Information 56
    C. Comey Failed to Immediately Alert the FBI to the Unauthorized
    Disclosure of Classified Information……………………………………… 59

    VI. Conclusion

Congress has provided the FBI with substantial powers and authorities to gather evidence as part of the FBI’s criminal and counterintelligence mission. The FBI uses these authorities every day in its many investigations into allegations of drug trafficking, terrorism, fraud, organized crime, public corruption, espionage, and a host of other threats to national security and public safety. In the process, the FBI lawfully gains access to a significant amount of sensitive information about individuals, many of whom have not been charged, may never be charged, or may not even be a subject of the investigation. For this reason, the civil liberties of every individual who may fall within the scope of the FBI’s investigative authorities depend on the FBI’s ability to protect sensitive information from unauthorized disclosure.

As Comey himself explained in his March 20, 2017 testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, he was unable to provide details about the nature or scope of the FBI’s ongoing investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election because the FBI is very careful in how we handle information about our cases and about the people we are investigating…. Our ability to share details with the Congress and the American people is limited when those investigations are still open, which I hope makes sense. We need to protect people’s privacy…. We just cannot do our work well or fairly if we start talking about it while we’re doing it.

However, after his removal as FBI Director two months later, Comey provided a copy of Memo 4, which Comey had kept without authorization, to Richman with instructions to share the contents with a reporter for The New York Times. Memo 4 included information that was related to both the FBI’s ongoing investigation of Flynn and, by Comey’s own account, information that he believed and alleged constituted evidence of an attempt to obstruct the ongoing Flynn investigation; later that same day, The New York Times published an article about Memo 4 entitled, “Comey Memo Says Trump Asked Him to End Flynn Investigation.”

The responsibility to protect sensitive law enforcement information falls in large part to the employees of the FBI who have access to it through their daily duties. On occasion, some of these employees may disagree with decisions by prosecutors, judges, or higher ranking FBI and Department officials about the actions to take or not take in criminal and counterintelligence matters.

They may even, in some situations, distrust the legitimacy of those supervisory, prosecutorial, or judicial decisions. But even when these employees believe that their most strongly-held personal convictions might be served by an unauthorized disclosure, the FBI depends on them not to disclose sensitive information.

Former Director Comey failed to live up to this responsibility. By not safeguarding sensitive information obtained during the course of his FBI employment, and by using it to create public pressure for official action, Comey set a dangerous example for the over 35,000 current FBI employees—and the many thousands more former FBI employees—who similarly have access to or knowledge of non-public information.

Comey said he was compelled to take these actions “if I love this country…and I love the Department of Justice, and I love the FBI.”

However, were current or former FBI employees to follow the former Director’s example and disclose sensitive information in service of their own strongly held personal convictions, the FBI would be unable to dispatch its law enforcement 60 duties properly, as Comey himself noted in his March 20, 2017 congressional testimony. Comey expressed a similar concern to President Trump, according to Memo 4, in discussing leaks of FBI information, telling Trump that the FBI’s ability to conduct its work is compromised “if people run around telling the press what we do.”

This is no doubt part of the reason why Comey’s closest advisors used the words “surprised,” “stunned,” “shocked,” and “disappointment” to describe their reactions to learning what Comey had done.

We have previously faulted Comey for acting unilaterally and inconsistent with Department policy.103 Comey’s unauthorized disclosure of sensitive law enforcement information about the Flynn investigation merits similar criticism. In a country built on the rule of law, it is of utmost importance that all FBI employees adhere to Department and FBI policies, particularly when confronted by what appear to be extraordinary circumstances or compelling personal convictions.

Comey had several other lawful options available to him to advocate for the appointment of a Special Counsel, which he told us was his goal in making the disclosure. What was not permitted was the unauthorized disclosure of sensitive investigative information, obtained during the course of FBI employment, in order to achieve a personally desired outcome.

The OIG has provided this report to the FBI and to the Department of Justice Office of Professional Responsibility for action they deem appropriate.
