Default Colorado Springs Air Force Installation on Heightened Alert

Colorado Springs Air Force Installation on Heightened Alert
An Air Force installation in Colorado Springs and one near Denver are operating with heightened security.

The Cheyenne Mountain Air Station, which houses NORAD, is now at "Bravo-Plus".

There are five levels of alert: normal, Alpha (low), Bravo (medium), Charlie (high) and Delta (critical). “Bravo-Plus” is slightly higher than a medium threat level.

Space Command would not comment on the reason for the security increase.

The order also affects Vandenberg Air Force Base in California and Patrick air force base in Florida.

Putin Orders Russian Strategic Forces To Bunkers In Response To US Space Command Raising Of Alert Status

By: Sorcha Faal, and as reported to her Russian Subscribers

Russian Military Analysts are reporting today that President Putin has ordered all Strategic Forces into ‘Bunker Status' in response to the United States Military Leaders sudden raising of their Space Command Forces ‘Alert Status', and as we can read as reported by the KRDO News Service in their article titled "COLORADO SPRINGS AIR FORCE INSTALLATION ON HEIGHTENED ALERT: Four Installations Across The Country Are Affected By Order From U.S. Space Command", and which says:

"An Air Force installation in Colorado Springs and one near Denver are operating with heightened security. The Cheyenne Mountain Air Station And Buckley Air Force Base are among four installations in the country at the higher alert level ordered last week by then- Acting-Commander of Air Force Space Command, General Fred Klotz. Space Command would not comment on the reason for the security increase. The order also affects Vandenberg Air Force Base in California and Patrick air force base in Florida."

I believe this is related to the North Korean situation.

The inclusion of Vandenberg and Patrick AFB's in the overall increased alert status is curious. Currently neither have an acknowledged BMD capability. However, their tracking target acquisition and tracking capabilities are probably being utilized to augment our overall missile/warhead detection capabilities. I think this is related to an effort focused in providing the best possible target resolution. In Patrick AFB there are even more robust capabilities available when one factors in their additonal mission tasking to provide deployment-ready people, equipment, and processes to support wartime and contingency operations.

I advise taking taking Sorcha Faal's reporting with a healthy dose of salt at this time.

Additionally ... if the Russian test was of an intercept evading set of warheads - that might prompt the bringing online of the enhanced target acquisition-target tracking capabilities I suggested above.

    Rick,

According to at least one open-source report there are a total of four locations with an upgraded security status as ordered last week by General Fred Klotz of AF Space Command.

The Cheyenne Mountain Air Station, ( NORAD - Colorado)

Buckley Air Force Base (Aurora, Colorado)

    Vandenberg Air Force Base (California)

    Patrick Air Force Base (Florida)

Notice the geographic locations of these places on a map and consider the commands and capabilities present at each.

I was refering only to Colorado Springs facilities. If you read carefully, you will note that they didnt mention exactly where... just mentioned Norad.

    Rick,

In the source article they did name the specifics of exactly where in Colorado.

My point is that Schriever AFB is not mentioned or hinted at in ths report - the Colorado sites named are Cheyenne Mountain/NORAD and Buckley.

Are you suggesting there's a fifth location of increased security status located at Schriever AFB - OR - that the identification of Buckley AFB as one of the four sites is in error?

A few months back I was reading some Nyquist and he referenced Sorcha Faal and it intrigued me so I did some digging. Sorcha Faal may not even be a real person much less a source of information. It could just be a made up name. Just wanted to pass that on.
