    Rural Terrorists in America
    Strategy Page ^ | July 17, 2006 | Not Cited

As the FBI digs deeper into the world of Islamic extremist groups in the United States, it has encountered a growing number of them operating in rural areas. Jamaat ul Fuqra is a group that began in Pakistan, where most members still reside, but has spread to North America over the last two decades. Many members have been busted for various crimes, usually ones related to fraud and abuse of social welfare programs.

The Muslims of America organization recruits in prisons, and has already produced a number of Islamic terrorists. What worries the FBI is the many more members who talk-the-talk, but have not yet moved to the walk-the-walk phase yet. Even if these groups are not actively carrying out terrorist acts, their preaching and everyday conversations indicate they would provide support services for any "holy warriors" that came knocking.

These groups have survived because they have learned how to work the system, including the FBI, and whatever counter-terrorism mojo that gets thrown at them. A major part of their defenses is their insularity, even from other Moslems. In fact, Jamaat ul Fuqra considers less conservative Moslems as heretics. Many of the Fuqra folks prefer to live out in the country, and create as much isolation for themselves as possible. Finding out what's going on in these groups is much more difficult than with people in the general Moslem population. While most Moslem-Americans are loyal citizens, and willing to send in tips about possible terrorist groups, outfits like Jamaat ul Fuqra just don't do that sort of thing, and react violently if they find any of their members doing so.

On the plus side, many of these extremist or conservative Moslem groups know, or suspect, that they are being watched. Any move to carry out a terrorist attack would bring the law down on them and, their families. So far, the only terrorist action out of these groups have been false starts or suspicious, not indictable, activity. But the potential is there, and it's scary.

True Muslim's are loyal ONLY to Allah, the Qur'an, the Hadith's and Mohammed. They owe nor will espouse any allegiance to any government other than an Islamist Khalifa (Caliphate).

Any so-called "muslim's" who are not of this Islamic state are Kufr (Kuffar) and of the same staus as are all infidel's.

NEIN has extensive reporting on Jamaat al-Fuqra (which is but one single islamist organization with direct ties to Al Qaeda). We have been to their isolated training compound in central New York State. There are other primary camps in Virginia and still others scattered across the USA.

This says nothing about even more serious terrorist probabilities in sleeper cells of Hezbollah currently being activated in the US/Canada under direct orders from Tehran. Al Qaeda, HAMAS and other Islamist groups are all in the same basket with respect to terrorism against the US civilian population and infrastructure.

There are concentrations of Islamist's across the US

    Sean,

Are you able to disclose the locations of the training compounds in Central New YorK?

    Absolutely.

The main compound entrance is located on Highway 8, going north from Hancock, N.Y.

We posted this information on the NEIN mainpage this past February in conjunction with "CP", and independent investigator and blogger.

13 February 2006: “We see children – small children run around over there when they should be in school. We hear bursts of gunfire all of the time, and we know that there is military like training going on there. Those people are armed and dangerous. We get nothing but menacing looks from the people who go in and out of the camp, and sometime they yell at us to mind our own business when we are just driving by. We don’t even dare to slow down when we drive by. They own this mountain and they know it, and there is nothing we can do about it but move, and we can’t even do that. Who wants to buy property next to that?”

Jamaat al Fuqra, a terrorist organization founded by Sheik Mubarek Ali Shah Gilani, the Islamic cleric Daniel Pearl was attempting to interview when he was kidnapped, and a group that has been linked to over two-dozen murders and fire-bombings inside the U.S., maintains active training compounds inside the United States. Perhaps the largest - and their operational headquarters, is situated on 70 acres nestled in a remote and heavily secluded area on the western edge of the Catskill Mountains in New York state, about 40 miles southeast of Binghamton, NY.

Investigators of the Northeast Intelligence Network who conducted a covert field investigation of the encampment, along with Internet Researcher and Blogger “CP,” (LINK) will be issuing a report of our findings, complete with the group’s nexus with terrorist activities.

Maybe it was just some good 'ol boys having some fun or maybe it was someone testing a device for a date and time in the future.

    http://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htt.../20060719.aspx

    The Bomb in Lake Pontchartrain

July 19, 2006: The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is still investigating a recent incident in which a large pipe bomb was found floating in Lake Pontchartrain, north of New Orleans. The device was examined, it was definitely a floating bomb, and was detonated while still on the water. While not a large explosive device, it reminded everyone at DHS that a major terrorist threat is the destruction of one of the railroad bridges over the Mississippi river. These bridges carry a major amount of freight traffic, and the loss of even one of them (if only for a few weeks, while being repaired) would have a noticeable effect on the economy. Al Qaeda knows about this, thus counter-terrorism officials are trying to found out who made the Lake Pontchartrain bomb. That's because this device had all the hallmarks of a test, for a larger bomb capable of dropping one of the nearby Mississippi river bridges.

...that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

I've got people in NY. The location of this camp in the middle of my home state more than ticks me off. Enough said.

Clearly, I have interests in Colorado as well. The quote taken from the NEIN report states that Jamaat ul-Fuqra is conducting operations (or will in the future) in Colorado. Is this an implication that they have bases of operations in Colorado? If so, I'd like to know where.

During a search of a storage locker in Colorado in 1989, federal agents recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition and documents linked directly to Jamaat ul-Fuqra. Found were numerous handguns, semi-automatic firearms, explosives, pipe bombs, bomb components and several larger bombs.

Some of the seized documents described the activities and code of the "Muhammad Commandos of Sector 5," who were reportedly involved in arms training and intelligence gathering. The documents included maps, lists of targets (facilities and individuals) in olorado Springs, Los Angeles, Arizona and Colorado. The named targets included oil and gas installations and electrical facilities, U.S. Air Force Academy and other military sites, individuals in 12 states and Canada. Publications issued by JF were also seized during this search and included "Guerrilla Warfare", "Counter Guerrilla Operations", "Understanding Amateur Radio", and "Fair Weather Flying," and "Basic Blueprint Reading and Sketching."

    Rural Terrorists in America?

My what only a few years can make with regard to the term "terrorist" in Amerika.

When I first saw this thread to post
Jamaat al-Fuqra activities pop up I thought it was about the Militia's or Tea Party folks or maybe just "bitter clingers" holding on to their Bible and Guns.

35 Jamaat al-Fuqra "terror training camps" still operating in the U.S.

When this report was brought to our attention, we checked the date twice. This story has been going on for many years, and what is most noteworthy is how little seems to have changed each time it resurfaces. "35 terror training camps now operating inside U.S.," from World Net Daily, January 2:
WASHINGTON – A radical jihadist group responsible for nearly 50 attacks on American soil is operating 35 terrorist training camps across the nation, but the U.S. government refuses to include the organization on the State Department’s list of foreign terrorists.
Jamaat ul-Fuqra, known in the U.S. as “Muslims of America,” has purchased or leased hundreds of acres of property – from New York to California – in which the leader, Sheikh Mubarak Gilani, boasts of conducting “the most advanced training courses in Islamic military warfare.”
In a recruitment video captured from Gilani’s “Soldiers of Allah,” he states in English: “We are fighting to destroy the enemy. We are dealing with evil at its roots and its roots are America.”
Though Gilani and his organization is suspected of committing assassinations and firebombings inside the U.S., and is also suspected of the beheading murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, the terrorist camps spread through the country continue to expand in numbers and population.
A documentary called “Homegrown Jihad: Terrorist Training Camps Around the U.S.” provides compelling evidence of how “Muslims of America” operates with impunity inside the U.S. In the video, producers visited some camps, attempted to visit others and interviewed neighbors and local police officials. It also include [sic] excerpts of the “Muslims of America” recruitment video.
The recruitment video shows American converts to Islam being instructed in the operation of AK-47 rifles, rocket launchers and machine guns and C4 explosives. It provides instruction in how to kidnap Americans, kill them and how to conduct sabotage and subversive operations.
Jamaat ul-Fuqra’s attacks on American soil range from bombings to murder to plots to blow up U.S. landmarks. A 2006 Department of Justice report states Jamaat ul-Fuqra “has more than 35 suspected communes and more than 3,000 members spread across the United States, all in support of one goal: the purification of Islam through violence.” In 2005, the Department of Homeland Security predicted the group would continue to carry out attacks in the U.S.
“Act like you are his friend. Then kill him,” says Gilani in the recruitment video, explaining how to handle American “infidels.”
Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl was attempting to interview Jamaat ul-Fuqra’s leader, Gilani, in 2002 when he was kidnapped and later beheaded. One year later, Iyman Faris, member of both Jamaat ul-Fuqra and al-Qaida, pleaded guilty in federal court to a plot to blow up the Brooklyn Bridge.
Gilani was at one time in Pakistani custody for the abduction of Pearl. Intelligence sources also suggest a link between Jamaat ul Fuqra and Richard Reid, the infamous “shoe bomber” who attempted to ignite explosives aboard a Paris-to-Miami passenger flight Dec. 22, 2001....

Check the date on that, Vector. I originally posted that 27 JUL 2006.

That means the terms are coming from within the government, not necessarily this administration.

    Remember that.

I don't think whomever we have in office is gonna fix this shit easily.
