Backers of illegal immigration at a rally near Los Angeles took down an American flag at a U.S. post office, stamped on it and replaced it with a Mexican flag as police looked on, according to witnesses and a video of the event.
Police officers in Maywood, Calif., Saturday eventually came to the pole to remove the flag but had bottles and rocks thrown at them, a radio listener named Sandra reported to the Terry Anderson show, heard on KRLA in Los Angeles.
A video can be viewed here, and photographs can be seen here on the website of Save our State, a border-security group represented there along with the Minutemen to protest Maywood declaring itself a "sanctuary city" for illegal aliens.

The radio listener, volunteering for Save our State, said that when she arrived at the rally she was rushed by counter-protesters who called out, "Death to the Minutemen."

"They pushed me around and told me if I was to take one step further, they would beat the s*** out of me," Sandra said. "I looked to the back of me and there were about four police officers leaning on their vehicle just watching, doing nothing!"
As she stepped forward, Sandra said, the counter-protesters stole her sign and ripped it up as another threw water on her.
A police officer eventually escorted her to her group.
The opposition, she said, began to get louder, and then "we watched as they took the American flag off of the flag pole and stepped on it on the ground at the United States post office and mounted a Mexican flag, and up it went."
At this point , she said, "the police did nothing."
"Finally, they went over to take it down, and they had bottles and rocks thrown at them," she said. "They did not attempt to arrest anyone. They were unable to take it down because they cut the wrong line so the flag remained there for the rest of the day."

Sandra said that as police officers watched, another woman was beaten, as well as an elderly man, noting the counter-protesters "tend to pick on the weaker targets."
"I believe that all Americans need to know about this and need to see that Mexican flag hanging at an American post office," she wrote to Anderson. "We are being invaded and the American people need to wake up!"
Blogger Bridget Johnson, who also was at the event, said that along with Maywood's flouting of immigration law, as a "sanctuary city," it has disbanded its police department's traffic unit so illegals without driver's licenses won't be fearful of getting their cars towed.
Referring to the supporters of open borders, she called it an "afternoon chock full of racism, 'reconquista' and riot cops, which included a sign claiming North American is a 'stolen continent.'"
Johnson said that "after the local post office took down the American flag at closing time, pro-immigration demonstrators promptly ran the Mexican flag up the flagpole. Eventually, police officers surrounded the flagpole and tried to get the Mexican flag down, but the cords got twisted and they could only lower it to half-staff."
In March, a high school in Southern California punished a student for involvement in a protest in which a Mexican flag was flown above an upside-down U.S. flag.
The incident took place at Montebello High School in Montebello, Calif., when students walked out of classes at area schools in protest of a proposed federal immigration bill.
In April, a Tucson, Ariz., man was arrested after he burned a Mexican flag while demonstrating against the flow of illegal aliens into the United States over the southern border.
Thousands of supporters of illegal aliens gathered in April to protest events in over 60 cities nationwide, but most left home the Mexican flag, because of the controversy it had stirred in previous events.
In what was being called a "campaign for immigrants' dignity," demonstrators instead carried the U.S. flag, a noticeable change from previous rallies in opposition to immigration-reform legislation pending in Congress.

Well, rather than merge this thread with a new one I decided to go ahead and just move it over here and continue.

This was a joint Save Our State-Minuteman protest against the city of Maywood, California for their recent change deciding to be a sanctuary city for illegal aliens.

Rather than try to describe what happened there myself, I'm going to post first hand accounts from participants who posted their accounts on the Save Our State message board. Lastly, a hispanic police officer stopped to speak with me while we all were in a secured lot fixing our tires and he wanted to convey his sorrow for what we had all endured and his support in our battle to save this law abiding nation. He told me he used to be assigned to the traffic dept before it was dissolved. OP, he asked for a head person to contact, I gave him your number. He fully supports us going to the next city counsel meeting.

I just got back from Sizzler where we unwound and relaxed. I got some really good video. I parked behind the enemy lines and I put my American flag and pole down my pantleg and my video under my T-shirt in front like a fanny pack so I didn't draw attention from the slimey, pathetic anarchists and I walked around the block behind the Police Station (58th St.) to avoid the goons on Slauson. At the corner of Fishburn I noticed 4 police cars loaded with SWAT officers approaching me with their guns drawn and doors open. I was ordered to drop my water bottle and turn away and grab the wrought iron fence at the corner, spread my legs and then ordered down to my knees. I tried to comply but the aluminum flagpole made it impossible for me to drop my right knee to the sidewalk. I had 6 semi-automatic handguns and a number of shotguns aimed at my head. They handcuffed and stripped me of my cam-corder and flag and my leatherman knife on my belt. It seems a goon called in a "man with a gun" to the Maywood Police dept. They apologized and returned everything to me after running me for 28's and 29's (wants and warrants) and ran my drivers license which is perfect.

I'm used to drawing down on suspects myself when I was a San Bernardino Sheriff in Big Bear Lake so I can tell you I wasn't very happy about the treatment. I said it was a sad day in America when an American Citizen had to hide a American Flag while walking down a street in Mexifornia formally California.
When I told them I used to be a Sheriff and I think they felt bad. Before they left I told them to treat some goons like I was just treated and they left and I continued to the protest. I carried my flag through the streets with my video on and I was threatened and spit at by some reconquista thugs. I'm really sorry to hear what they did to Kele. That girl is tough and deserves an award.

Anyway, I heard of alot of damage to some of our cars and Maywood should be ashamed. The pro-open border lobby is full of dispicable, low-life scum bags and the tide is turning in our favor. I'm really proud of the way we faced off against these vile classless pigs today. I hope we do this again soon. I love to see Naui and Marvin the martian worked into a fervor. Lots of film and video showing what loser idiots Mexica is. Today was a success and a wonderful day for Californians. We got them on the run now. Keep up the fight.

Why the hell are the cops just standing there and allowing this in America??
(yeah...I know...it's a rhetorcial question).
THIS is why we need immigration reform.
THIS is why we need a secure border.
THIS is why all these CRIMINALS who broke into our country need to go back to where the hell they came from.

The police actually did try to take it down but it became entangled and was stuck at half mast. Now personally I think when the individuals were trying to hang a foriegn flag over a U.S. soveriegn building that the law enforcement officers should have fired upon them. It is an act of war.

Why aren't the cops arresting these masked assholes? (uhh another rhetorical question I guess). I remember that in some states laws were enacted awhile back to prevent the KKK from marching with their hoods on, so going in public with your face covered in any way was made illegal. Does California have one of these laws? Those pics look like they were taken in the friggin West Bank!

Laws in the Socialist Republic of Mexifornia are geared to stop white conservatives from having rights. So it's unlikely you'll see anything even recognizable as peace keeping in regards to the left or mexicans.
