China's PLA is reportedly conducting training exercises designed to cope with crisis in Korean Peninsula

Chinese state media, Xinhua, reported, "Total of 6,000 troops, made up of mechanized infantry brigade(3,000) from Shenyang Military District and its opponents(3,000), an armored brigade from Beijing Military District, went into training exercises against biochemical, naval, and aerial attacks. It started on Sept. 5 on a training base under Beijing Military District, located on a steppe in Inner Mongolia."

190th Mechanized Infantry Brigade of 39th Corps under Shenyang Military District finished map exercises on Sept. 5, and departed its base at Benxi in Liaoliang Province on Sept. 6, and covered 1,000 km(over 620 miles) to reach the training base, the first long-distance maneuver in (PLA's ?) history. The exercises will last until Sept. 15,

While moving, they also underwent training to evade enemy satellite surveillance and deal with electromagnetic disturbances. Shenyang Military District is one of seven military districts of PLA. Its headquarter is located in Shenyang, and it is assigned to deal with situations which could develop in Korean Peninsula.

In addition to the development above, a rapid deployment unit from 162nd Division under Jinan Military District is also reportedly starting yet another exercise with the scenario of intervention in Korea. Jinan Military District has its headquarter in Jinan, Shandong Province. It is responsible for dealing with situations in Japan and Korean Peninsula. Beijing's military sources are paying keen attention to these exercises which are conducted in the backdrop of tense Korean situation caused by 6-party talks in stalemate, N. Korean missile launches, and warning against nuclear test.
I wonder if this rather than being something to oppose specific NK actions, if this is practice for a move to support NK?

DPRK is a proxy for China. I would have a hard time believing that you were not correct, Ryan.
