NORMAN, Okla. -- Police detonated a suspicious package at a University of Oklahoma parking facility late Tuesday afternoon, officials said.


Officials said that nobody was hurt when police detonated the package at the Asp Avenue Facility, which is a six-level parking structure located west of Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.


There is no word as to what the package contained.

Explosions, Fires : Suspicious package detonated at University of Oklahoma


*8 November 2006: Police detonated a package described as “suspicious” that was left at the six-level Asp Avenue parking facility near the Oklahoma Memorial Stadium at the University of Oklahoma late yesterday afternoon. Officers with the City of Norman Police Department bomb squad detonated the package after conducting an on-site investigation. Police officials have not released any additional information about the incident, and have not commented on the contents of the package.

The Northeast Intelligence Network, in conjunction with America's News Source are awaiting additional information from the City of Norman Oklahoma Police Department. Additional information will be provided as it is developed.
