[b]War On Women: Dems Attack Garcia With Sexist Language, Imagery [UPDATED]

    November 25, 2013

New Hampshire Democrats were quick to attack Republican State Representative Marilinda Garcia once she made her intention to seek the her party’s nomination for the second congressional district seat official. Garcia announced her candidacy via a press release on Monday morning; she joins former Republican State Senator Gary Lambert in the race to take on Democratic Congresswoman Anne Kuster.

Within moments of her announcement, prominent Democratic State Rep. Peter Sullivan attacked Garcia on Twitter using sexist language and imagery. Sullivan compared the three-term State Representative, who holds a Master’s degree from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, to reality television celebrity Kim Kardashian. He went on to refer to her as “[Republican State Rep.] Al Baldasarro [sic] in stiletto heels” and “a lightweight.”

Throughout the 2012 and 2013 election cycles, national Democrats launched repeated attacks accusing Republicans of using rhetoric they claimed was demeaning to women.

    Sullivan’s tweets are below:

UPDATE: Facing heavy criticism, Sullivan refused to walk back his remarks about Garcia, even issuing a mock apology to Kim Kardashian “for comparing her to a right-wing extremist like Marilinda Garcia.”

UPDATE 2: New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Jennifer Horn released a statement Tuesday morning calling on Rep. Kuster to denounce Sullivan’s rhetoric:

“For too long women in our society have been judged by their appearance rather than their accomplishments and made subject to the ignorant assaults of men like Peter Sullivan. If our daughters are to have any chance of pursuing their dreams in a society that is free of fabricated limitations and unjust personal assaults then so-called leaders like Representative Annie Kuster must call upon her fellow Democrats to put an end to their offensive and chauvinistic rhetoric.”

Union Leader Tweet: Wishes Disabled Vet Would Have Died, Lost All Limbs

Posted by: Rick Wells Posted date: December 28, 2013 In: News, Opinion

468 vrotos union leader hates veterans

Janet Vrotos is a hater with vitriol towards one particular group that is particularly nasty, unseemly and inappropriate.

Three characteristics of Ms. Vrotos should be pointed out, all of which you may not find to be surprising, given the current administration’s apparent war on veterans and retirees.

She is a Democrat, a Union Leader and she lives in the liberal bastion of Massachusetts. While Democrats are the incessant promoters of tolerance in all things diverse or non-traditional, they sometimes fall short when the same considerations they demand of others are placed upon them.

In the case of Ms. Vrotos, the group that she has a particular disdain for is the same people who protect her right to be disgusting and to air such hateful and hurtful comments. Unfortunately, she also benefits from the sacrifice that disabled the veterans she targeted.

Her twitter comments directed towards Senior Airman Brian Kolfage were:

“You disabled veterans are worthless and all should have died, shame on you for fighting in a Republican war, you deserved to lose all of your limbs and I hope all veterans lose their benefits. I hope you die a miserable death you worthless fake hero. You and your family will be a burden on taxpayers for your entire life.

If there were ever a case for something being completely unworthy of a response, this is it. If there were ever a comment that absolutely deserves a response, this is it also.

To speak in these hateful terms towards anybody is offensive. To do so to someone who was once whole and is now disabled due to their service for her and every other American citizen is unconscionable.

Her ignorance is on display through her comments regarding the Republican wars, as a Democrat administration has been managing our non-stop wars for the last six years.

She makes a disparaging comment regarding disabled American veterans being a burden on society, yet supports a Democrat Party which is in the illegal alien importation business. Those foreigners, who have no legal right to be in the U.S., will likely be a much greater burden on our society than the deserving American citizens to whom we owe a debt of gratitude for our defense. Regardless of whether you agree with the war, the decisions to engage in them are not made by those who are injured. They are made by those who sit safely behind a desk in Washington.

If ever anything rose to the definition of hate speech, this should be it. The definition may be so distorted that it doesn’t, but it should.

Vrotos runs a Facebook page that vilifies Republicans called “Republican Family Values.” You can visit the page and comment here:

Do the words "Fucking Cunt" mean anything Janet Marie Vrotos?

Because you are one. And I don't think your husband is man enough to say jack shit to me for calling you one. Assuming your husband isn't a woman.

The degree of mental illness within the segment of the population Vrotos runs in never ceases to amaze me. She is truly a crazy person. The fact that no one counsels her to keep her hateful piehole shut means her associates, friends, lovers and fellow liberal maniacs are just as crazy as she.

Tolerance? There ain't any. On her part.

She would be screaming bloody murder about Phil Robertson right now (I'd bet MONEY she had comments about him). But, telling men and women who've been injured in combat, IN SUPPORT OF THEIR COUNTRY to just "die"????

I think... well, to paraphrase someone else... someone should just SHIT in her mouth.

This Gun Lover is Getting Eviscerated By the Left-Leaning Internet. Does He Deserve It?

    May 18, 2014

You may have seen the new face of the NRA: Colion Noir, a 30-something black lawyer with a penchant for ball caps.

Colion Noir, the new face of the NRA

The first episode of his web show “Noir,” an NRA production aimed at exposing Millennials to a healthy gun culture, aired last week, and it’s generating a lot of buzz — much of it negative.

Critics are laying into “Noir,” calling the show “hilariously bad poser garbage” and questioning the authenticity of a young black man representing the NRA.

Noir isn’t taking the heat lying down.

Speaking to TheBlaze Friday, Noir said most of the criticism aimed at him is superficial, or straight-up racist.

“They’re personal comments, not based in content,” Noir said. “I mean, it’s cute, we used to do that in middle school, but it’s not based in content.”

Attacks on his personal integrity or even his racial credibility are ridiculous, he said.

“I mean, you’ve got white girls (on Twitter) who think they know more about being black than I do?”

But what about Noir’s show — is it “poser garbage,” or sharp, modern programming?

    You be the judge.

The writing is densely-packed with acerbic wit and Millennial-friendly references.

“We’re gonna talk about smart tech, and no, not that tactical chastity bracelet your boy Eric Holder wants to put on every gun owner like he’s the czar of firearm virginity,” Noir says in the first episode, pulling no punches.

“There’s a heritage (to gun culture),” he says a moment later, “a heritage that has a swag that would put most rappers to shame.”
Those moments come within the first three minutes of the show’s first episode, as do references to WorldStarHipHop, Google Glass, Instagram playboy Dan Bilzerian, New Kids on the Block, 21 Jump Street and twerking.

Whether the writing hits home or falls flat is up to the viewer, but Noir was adamant that the words and thoughts are his own, not just NRA-produced talking points.

“I am 100 billion percent involved in all the writing that goes into the show,” Noir said. “Just look at my YouTube channel and you can see that nothing’s changing, these are the same things I’ve been saying for awhile.”

It’s the same message he’s always preached, just now reaching a bigger audience, Noir said.

The show is meant to be “unapologetically a celebration of the firearms culture in America – period.”

Noir said he’s dedicated to defending the 2nd Amendment and just making guns seem more normal.

“People are kind of ashamed of (doing something like) buying a gun because they like the way it looks,” Noir said. “As long as you’re owning the gun responsibly, it shouldn’t be a problem.”

As Noir told TheBlaze a year ago, his love of guns came naturally, late in life, when a friend invited him to go shooting, and while he acknowledged the stereotypical gun-lover might be older and white, he’s dedicated to expanding gun culture to a younger, more diverse crowd.

Noir welcomed further criticism, asking viewers to tune in and give their feedback.

“Be honest,” Noir said. “Tell us what you think.”

Haters or no, Noir plans to soldier on, with the second episode of his show airing tonight.

“The show is going to evolve within itself, and I’m looking forward to that,” Noir told TheBlaze.

Stacey Dash Viciously Attacked By Black Community For Fox Gig

    May 30, 2014
    By Allen West

It never ceases, and it never ceases to amaze: the duplicitous hypocrisy of the so-called “tolerant Left” and worse, the nastiness of the black community. Hat tip to our local friends at BizPac Review for bringing it to our attention yet again.

BizPac reports: “Fox News announced Wednesday that actress Stacey Dash has been hired as a contributor to provide cultural analysis and commentary across the network’s daytime and prime time programming. The news is not going over too well on the Left, particularly in the black community — Dash is of African-American and Mexican descent.”

Why, why does it matter to these hate-filled individuals? Did any black conservative come out and spew hatred about Toure, Al Sharpton, Melissa Harris-Perry, Joy Reid, or Tamron Hall being hired as show hosts? No, the argument is always about views and perspectives on the issues.

Once again, the closed-minded drones in the black community who associate character with skin color and refute the right of an individual to independent thought have reared their ugly heads. But Ms. Dash has withstood the fiery darts of these hate-mongers before when she tweeted out her support for Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential election.

“Perhaps I publicly endorsed Romney from a slightly naïve place, thinking that I could speak my voice without being criticized in such racially charged and hateful tones,” Dash wrote in an editorial for TMZ.

Why is it that the liberal progressive Left — and their black henchmen — hate black conservatives to so passionately? If you have an ideological disagreement based upon debate of the issues, let’s have at it.

However, the route taken of crying Oreo, sellout, Uncle Tom, house Negro, white man’s porch monkey and other invectives achieves nothing. Name-calling has no effect in any way. As a matter of fact, it only emboldens us more. I know its intent is instilling fear, coercion, and intimidation, but all it does is point a blinding spotlight on a lack of intelligence and inability to make a coherent presentation.

Wednesday’s announcement brought out more of the “racially charged hateful tones” Dash spoke of, as seen on Twitter. While many of the tweets are being deleted by users once they realize their hatred is on full display, Twitchy.com captured a few. Here are the cleaner ones:

Am I right about this? Just watch and see the comments that will emanate from the usual suspects on these pages — so predictable.

I’ve never met Stacey Dash, but applaud her courage, conviction, and character. The fascists, whether black or white, shall not shut us down.

We have the right to free speech. You have the right to spew hatred, but I would recommend you all refer to Proverbs 17:28, (NIV): “Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.”

And since this is a post about Stacey Dash, it definitely requires a picture to go along with it. She's almost 50 and still looks absolutely stunning!

Colorado Baker To Stop Making Wedding Cakes After Losing Discrimination Case

    May 31, 2014

The owner of a bakery in Lakewood said he will no longer sell wedding cakes after the Colorado Civil Rights Commission ruled he did discriminate against a gay couple when he refused to sell them a cake.

Jack Phillips owns Masterpiece Cakeshop. In 2012, David Mullins and Charlie Craig went to the shop to order a cake for their upcoming wedding reception. They planned to marry in Massachusetts and have a reception in Colorado.

Phillips said he doesn't believe in gay marriage and he refused to sell them a cake.

"We would close down the bakery before we would complicate our beliefs," Phillips said after the hearing, according to CBS Denver. Phillips also admitted he had refused service to other same-sex couples.

A judge previously ruled a business owner cannot refuse service to a customer on the basis of sexual orientation. Phillips appealed to the commission, but it upheld the decision.

That prompted Phillips to decide he would no longer make any wedding cakes. He said he would be fine selling cupcakes for a birthday party for someone who is gay but added, "I don't want to participate in a same-sex wedding."

The commission also ordered the baker to submit quarterly reports about the customers he refuses to serve and retrain employees to serve everyone.

For the couple, they said they always believed they were in the right and it was important to pursue the case for future customers.

"We've already been discriminated there," Mullins said. "We've already been treated badly.

"The next time a gay couple wanders in there asking for a wedding cake, they won't have the experience we had.

"They will have a responsible experience and leave feeling respected."

    Time for re-education citizen.

Baker Forced To Make Gay Wedding Cakes, Undergo Sensitivity Training, After Losing Lawsuit

    June 3, 2014
    By Todd Starnes

A family owned bakery has been ordered to make wedding cakes for gay couples and guarantee that its staff be given comprehensive training on Colorado’s anti-discrimination laws after the state’s Civil Rights Commission determined the Christian baker violated the law by refusing to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple.

Jack Phillips, the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop, in Lakewood, Colorado was directed to change his store policies immediately and force his staff to attend the training sessions. For the next two years, Phillips will also be required to submit quarterly reports to the commission to confirm that he has not turned away customers based on their sexual orientation.

Think of it as reverse conversion therapy (or straight man’s rehab) so that the state can mandate diversity through conformity.

The plight of Jack Phillips and his family is something I write about in my new book, “God Less America.” His story of religious persecution is one of many that I document.

Nicolle Martin, an attorney with Alliance Defending Freedom, called the ruling Orwellian and said they are considering an appeal.

“They are turning people of faith into religious refugees,” Martin told me. “Is this the society that we want to live in – where people of faith are driven out of business?”

Martin said it was “truly frightening” that Phillips will be forced to submit quarterly reports to the government disclosing whether he turned away any wedding cake business.

“There will be some reporting requirements so that Jack can demonstrate that he doesn’t exercise his belief system anymore – that he has divested himself of his beliefs,” she said.

He will also be required to create new policies and procedures for his staff.

“We consider this reporting to be aimed at rehabilitating Jack so that he has the right thoughts,” Martin said. “That’s offensive to everything America stands for.”

Phillips, who is celebrating his 40th year in business this week, told me he’s not going to create any new policies.

“My old ones are pretty adequate as far as I’m concerned,” he said. “I don’t plan on giving up my faith and changing because of that.”

The controversy started in 2012 when a gay couple asked Phillips to make their wedding cake. Phillips politely declined, saying he could not make a cake promoting a same-sex ceremony because of his faith. He offered to make them any other baked item they wanted.

Charlie Craig and David Mullins filed a complaint with the Colorado Civil Rights Commission alleging they were discriminated against because of their sexual orientation. For the record, same-sex marriage is against the law in Colorado.

The commission affirmed a civil court’s ruling that the bakery cannot discriminate against persons in a public place based on sexual orientation.

“You can have your beliefs, but you can’t hurt other people at the same time,” Commission Chairwoman Katina Banks told The Denver Channel.

ACLU attorney Amanda Goad, who heads up the organization’s LBGT group, heralded the ruling.

“Religious freedom is undoubtedly an important American value, but so is the right to be treated equally under the law free from discrimination,” she said in a statement.

No, my dear. Religious freedom is a CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT.

“Everyone is free to believe what they want, but businesses like Masterpiece Cakeshop cannot treat some customers differently than others based on who they are as people,” Goad added.

David Mullins, one of the two men who brought the lawsuit against Phillips, was thrilled with the ruling.

“What should have been a happy day for us turned into a humiliating and dehumanizing experience because of the way we were treated,” he said in an ACLU statement.

Who knew butter cream frosting could cause such angst?

“No one should ever have to walk into a store and wonder if they will be turned away just because of who they are,” Mullins added.

But that’s not what Phillips did. He was more than willing to make them a cupcake.

“Jack doesn’t turn people away,” Martin told me. “There are just some events that he won’t lend his artistry to.”

The ACLU accused Masterpiece Cakeshop of considering itself above the law.

“Everyone who shops in our stores and conducts business in our state should be treated with equality and dignity,” attorney Paula Greisen said in an ACLU of Colorado statement. “That’s what this ruling was about.”

No ma’am, it was not. That ruling was about bullying – bullying Christians.

“There’s a collision between religious liberty and the gay rights movement,” Martin told me.

“This collision is coming to the forefront almost every day. Somebody is losing their liberty, their job or both.”

But thank goodness for someone like Jack Phillips, who refused to capitulate to the government’s demands.

“My God is bigger than any bullies they’ve got,” he said. “I don’t worry about it. I honor my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and be true to what He wants me to do.”

And the Civil Rights Commission is going to have a mighty hard time trying to “rehabilitate” Phillips and his staff.

“My 87-year-old mom works here and she says she’s not being rehabilitated,” he said.

Martin said the Alliance Defending Freedom will “continue to stand with Jack against overreach and tyranny by the state.”

“Jack has gone out on a limb and taken this stand – and not capitulated to the government’s demands,” she said. “That speaks volumes about him.”

And should the highest court in the land force Jack to do the bidding of homosexuals?

“There’s civil disobedience,” Phillips told me. “We’ll see what happens. I’m not giving up my faith. Too many people have died for this faith to give it up that easily.”

Meanwhile, the bullying tactics of the militant gay rights community have not hampered the bakery’s bottom line. They’ve gotten so much business from the sales of cookies and brownies, they’ve temporarily stopped making wedding cakes.

“Obey Christ rather than worry about what man can do to you,” Phillips said.

There you have it, folks. In Colorado, you can’t have your cake and religious beliefs, too.

If that was my bakery I think I'd specialize in wedding cakes with toothpaste and Hákarl icing.

Now there's some fine Liberal tolerance right there. It's incredible the level of ignorance spewing from their self-centered, amoral pieholes.

I had a long chat with someone last night about this. He is clearly misinformed.

Too many people BELIEVE the bullshit the media feeds us about "Right Wing" "Nut cases", and "Christian Religious Extremists".

I give up. We're headed for a French Revolution in this country. It won't be the Right Wing that starts the Civil War, it will be those toads on twitter.

Government to Farmers: Host Same-Sex Wedding or Pay a $13,000 Fine

    August 19, 2014

Should the government be able to coerce a family farm into hosting a same-sex wedding?

In a free society, the answer is no. Family farms should be free to operate in accordance with the beliefs and values of their owners. Government shouldn’t be able to fine citizens for acting in the market according to their own—rather than the government’s—values, unless there is a compelling government interest being pursued in the least restrictive way possible.

But the New York State Division of Human Rights doesn’t see things this way. On August 8, it fined Cynthia and Robert Gifford $13,000 for acting on their belief that marriage is the union of a man and woman and thus declining to rent out their family farm for a same-sex wedding celebration. The Human Rights Commission ruled that “the nature and circumstances of the [Giffords’s] violation of the Human Rights Law also warrants a penalty.”

This is coercive big government run amok.

Here’s the back story. In 2012, Melissa Erwin and Jennie McCarthy contacted the Giffords to rent the family’s barn for their same-sex wedding ceremony and reception. Cynthia Gifford responded that she and her husband would have to decline their request as they felt they could not in good conscience host a same-sex wedding ceremony at their home. The Giffords live on the second and third floor of the barn and, when they host weddings on the first floor, they open part of the second floor as a bridal suite.

The Giffords have owned and operated Liberty Ridge Farm in Schaghticoke, New York for over 25 years. Like many small farm families, they often open the farm to the public for events like berry picking, fall festivals, and pig racing.

They also open their home for weddings and receptions. When the Giffords host weddings, they are involved in every aspect of the wedding planning and celebration: they greet and drive guests in their farm trolley, decorate the barn, set up floral arrangements, arrange fireworks displays, and provide catering. As the Human Rights Commission ruling even points out, “the only wedding-related service Liberty Ridge Farm does not offer is providing the official for the wedding ceremony.”

As many brides know, planning a wedding requires hours of careful work to organize in order to pull off the celebration—hours during which family businesses operating venues like the Giffords’ actively participate in the weddings they host. The Giffords believe that as free citizens running a business, they should have the right to decline to participate in an event that does not reflect their values.

Unfortunately, New York’s Human Right’s law (Executive Law, art. 15) creates special privileges based on sexual orientation that trump the rights of business owners. Because the Giffords’ family farm is open to the public for business, New York classifies it as a “public accommodation” and then mandates that it not “discriminate” on the basis of sexual orientation.

Of course the Giffords were not engaging in any insidious discrimination—they were acting on their belief about the nature of marriage. They do not object to gay or lesbian customers attending the fall festivals, or going berry picking, or doing any of the other activities that the farm facilitates. The Giffords’ only objection is to being forced to abide by the government’s views on sexuality and host a same-sex wedding. The Human Rights Commission has now declared this historic belief about marriage to be “discrimination.”

The Giffords must pay a $1,500 mental anguish fine to each of the women and pay $10,000 in civil damages penalty to New York State. If they can’t pay in 60 days, a nine percent interest rate will be added to that total. Like Jack Phillips of Masterpiece Cakeshop, the Giffords must also institute anti-discrimination re-education classes and procedures for their staff.

The question before all citizens is whether this law and this fine are just. Should the government be able to force family businesses to betray their consciences and participate in ceremonies that violate their beliefs? Should the government be in the business of “rehabilitating” consciences or “re-educating” its citizens to change their moral beliefs about the definition of marriage?

Government should not create special legal privileges based on sexual orientation and gender identity. Instead, government should protect the rights of Americans and the associations they form to act in the public square in accordance with their beliefs. The Giffords’ case illustrates the growing conflict between religious liberty rights and laws that grant special privileges based on sexual orientation and gender identity. In a nation founded on limited government and religious freedom, government should not attempt to coerce any citizen, association, or business into celebrating same-sex relationships.

    School Bans 'Offensive' Chick-fil-A Sandwiches

    September 12, 2014
    By Todd Starnes

Feathers have been ruffled at California’s Ventura High School, where the principal this week banned the football booster club from selling Chick-fil-A sandwiches over fears that people might be offended.

What, pray tell, could people find offensive about a plump juicy chicken breast tucked between two buttered buns?

Were English teachers put off by the restaurant chain’s grammatically challenged bovine pitchmen?

Did the waffle fries and banana pudding milkshakes exceed the nutritional limits deemed acceptable by the federal government?

The answer, dear readers, is no. It seems Principal Val Wyatt’s ban has less to do with poultry and more to do with politics.

“With their political stance on gay rights and because the students of Ventura High School and their parents would be at the event, I didn’t want them on campus,” Wyatt told the Ventura County Star.

It was a sentiment supported by Trudy Tuttle Ariaga, superintendent of the Ventura Unified School District.

“We value inclusivity and diversity on our campus, and all our events and activities are going to adhere to our mission,” Ariaga told CBS News in Los Angeles.

This is a classic example of those preaching inclusivity and diversity being the least inclusive and diverse of all.

Let’s back up for a minute and explain how this unfortunate act of poultry bigotry came about.

The local Chick-fil-A franchise has a storied history of supporting the school district – to the tune of thousands of dollars – and owner Robert Shaffer had generously offered to give the booster club 200 meals for a “back-to-school” event on Wednesday at which they expected to raise $1,600 for the football team, the Ventura Star reported.

“That would have gone toward the football program, everything from uniforms to food for the boys,” booster club president Dan Swim told the Star. “We don’t charge money for the boys to play football.”

A few days before the back-to-school event, the principal broke the news to the booster club. She said her “main reason” for banning Chick-fil-A was because she did not want an outside organization to sell or advertise during the event.

“I work really hard to keep Ventura High School from being a marketplace for all kinds of vendors to come to the campus and reap profit,” she told the newspaper.

Well, dear. That’s a bit disingenuous. Chick-fil-A was not making a single penny. They were giving all the proceeds to the booster club. Period.

I suspect her “main reason” had more to do with her statement about Chick-fil-A’s opposition to gay rights.

There’s just one teensy-weensy problem with Principal Wyatt’s explanation: It’s not true.

“Chick-fil-A doesn’t have a stance on gay marriage,” Shaffer told the Star. “We treat everyone who walks through our doors, regardless of their religion or sexual orientation, with honor, dignity and respect.”

In a 2012 interview that was published by Baptist Press, Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy affirmed his support of the biblical definition of the family. The interview sparked nationwide outrage among the LGBT community and the mainstream media.

“Well, guilty as charged,” he said. "We are very much supportive of the family – the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.”

That’s it. That’s what Dan Cathy said. Here’s the link to the interview. Read it for yourself. Not once did Cathy say anything disparaging about the LGBT community or gay marriage.

Unless, of course, the principal is suggesting that people who support the biblical definition of marriage are somehow anti-gay. Is that what you are suggesting, Principal Wyatt?

At best, the principal is misinformed. At worst, she is an outright liar. But for the sake of generosity, let’s just say she’s slow on the uptake.

Principal Wyatt needs to retract her woefully ignorant statement and publicly apologize for her offensive accusations. And to show there are no hard feelings, I would be more than willing to allow her to make things right by posting her retraction in this column.

As they say at Chick-fil-A, it would be my pleasure, Principal Wyatt.
