Default The Times They Are a-Changin'

    The Times They Are a-Changin'

That's right - is it happening to anyone else?

I noticed this problem a while back - and didn't say anything - but made the effort today to get some facts.

    In this thread: http://www.transasianaxis.com/vb/showthread.php?t=2499 I made a post at 0225 18 Dec 2006.

I logged back on at 0925 18 Dec 2006, and the time stamp on the post had changed to 0825 18 Dec 2006.

And just below my post of 0225/0825, Sean posted - and the time stamp shows 1320.

And the exact time right now is 0931.

Does anyone else see this, or is it just me and Titor?

Well now look at this: http://www.transasianaxis.com/vb/index.php On that page, it says Sean's last post in that thread was at 0720.

Kinda drives me nuts as that's how I look for new posts.

    WTF?!?

    I logged off, logged on.

Now the time stamp on Sean's post in the thread (as above) says 0720.

    OK - just noticed something.

If I view the above posts while NOT being logged in, the date stamps are off.

If I log in, they are correct.

Only thing I can think of is my computer's clock is off. But it doesn't appear to be.

I oftentimes will read here while not logged in.

Well, for what it's worth ... the time stamp on my post that Backstop references above is, in fact, incorrect.

I made that post at 08:25 this morning Eastern Standard Time.

It is now 11:52 AM Eastern Standard Time.

According to the time stamp as I just saw it --- I will not make that post for another approximately hour and twenty-five minutes.

The issue revolves around being logged in or not being logged in.

Not logged in and you see bogus time stamps on the posts.

Logged in and the correct time stamps are displayed.

Other forums do the same thing. When logged off it will/might show the general global standard time but will correct to the loggers adjusted time when logged on.

For what it's worth...paranoia strikes deep, into your heart it will seep.

Does anybody know what time it is?

I prefer Steven Stills to B Dylan. Could you rename this thread, please.

When you aren't logged in, the board defaults to GMT (IIRC). And, when you are logged in, your profile tells the board software how to adjust from GMT (assuming you have it set properly).

That's a decent song you quoted - although it was quite anti-establishment.

Only record I have of Dylan's is Blood On The Tracks - there's some very good story telling there. Another one of his songs I like is Don't Think Twice, It's Alright. A woman wants the man's soul (figuratively), so he bails out.
