Special HQ To Be Formed For Tehran-Moscow Cooperation
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said a special headquarters is to be set up in Iran to work for improvement of ties with Russia.

In a phone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin late Tuesday, Ahmadinejad said Iran is ready to bolster cooperation and ties with Russia and implement the agreements reached earlier between the two countries.

Ahmadinejad said the 'positive and constructive' stances of Russia at the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) Board of Governors indicated the strategic and strong insight of the country on regional and international issues as well as the deep-rooted ties between Tehran and Moscow as well as between Iranians and Russians.

He said Iran supports Russia's position that the Caspian Sea belongs to littoral states and that foreigners should not be present in the area.

He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran also supports the security pact among littoral states.

Putin for his part emphasized expansion of mutual cooperation at the international and regional levels, including in the Caspian Sea.
