Dead U.S. Soldier in Anti-War Video 'Alive and Well'

    January 08, 2007 8:00 AM
Rhonda Schwartz and Maddy Sauer Report:
An Iraqi insurgent propaganda video, containing what is described as a Christmas message from a U.S. soldier taped just before he was killed, appeared on dozens of Web sites and on the al Jazeera network.
But a lot about the video does not add up, including the fact that ABC News found the supposedly dead soldier is "alive and well" and present for duty, according to a U.S. Army spokesman at Fort Campbell, Ky.
"There are a whole bunch of lies on that tape," said Lt. Col. Ed Loomis at Fort Campbell. "It is nothing but a total fabrication."

A producer at al Jazeera said it would change its description of the video after learning from ABC News that the soldier was not dead.
The tape begins in dramatic form with the title "Lee's Life for Lies."

It is supposedly a Christmas greeting from a U.S. soldier, Specialist Lee Kimball Tucker, sent to his family in Florida before he was killed.
First there are scenes of Tucker celebrating his birthday with his buddies.
Then a cut to an attack on a U.S. Army humvee and its aftermath.
An insurgent narrator says the insurgents found a computer flash drive in the wreckage that belonged to Tucker and purports to play it.

A voice says, "Dear Mom and Dad, I'm so glad I could send you my third Christmas greetings letter."
Watch the beginning of the Iraqi Insurgent Video.

Lt. Col. Loomis told ABC News that while the pictures appear to be authentic, it was a case of Tucker's identity being stolen in Iraq.

The voice identified as Tucker says he and his fellow soldiers became violent and reckless searching for insurgents.

"The crimes by our soldiers during break-ins started to merge, such as burglary, harassment, raping and random manslaughter," says the voice. "Why are we even here? The people hate us."

Watch the video where the voice, purported to be Tucker's, describes U.S. soldiers turning to violence.
Laura Mansfield, an Arabic language analyst and publisher of a newsletter "Strategic Translations" that tracks jihadi websites, said this is a new trick in the jihadists' propaganda campaign.

"This is part of a very shrewd campaign to reach a U.S. audience, soldiers and voters," she said. "It is in English and forgives most soldiers and Americans, calling on them to help end the war."

Also on the tape is a description, supposedly from Tucker, of how soldiers buy their way out of dangerous night patrols and gun turret duty with cash and drugs.

"The marijuana-rolled cigarettes are the rare currency capable of buying or changing anything. The drugs goes all around here," says the voice.

And it ends with a final denunciation of U.S. leaders and policy.

"What we are doing here is so disgraceful; our acts are shameful," says the voice. He then signs off, "Specialist Lee Kimball Tucker."

Watch the video where the voice professes his anti-war sentiments.
All very powerful from a dead soldier, except for the fact that Lee Kimball Tucker is not dead.

His family says he returned from Iraq in May and was with them over the holidays so he would not have been sending any messages home.

There will be an internal investigation at Fort Campbell to determine how the insurgents got a hold of the home video of the soldiers, and Fort Campbell officials are urging all soldiers to take further precautions against identity theft.

Tucker's mother Pam of Fort Worth, Texas, told ABC News that Tucker is not anti-war and that he could be returning to Iraq later this year.

Terrorist New Lows (If That's Possible)

    January 6th, 2007 by CJ
The Islamic Army in Iraq is a terrorist organization operating in and around Iraq. The terrorists have claimed responsibility for numerous kidnappings and executions, to include American contractor Ronald Schulz. Now, they are claiming to have killed a soldier named SPC Lee Kendall Tucker, "wasted during an ambush on his vehicle" and even trying to convince the reader that the video shown was his. Somehow, the group got a hold of his thumbdrive that contained a bunch of stuff supposedly proving that he was anti-war, whatever that means. They are using it to convince people that American Soldiers don't have the resolve and motivation to be in Iraq. That couldn't be further from the truth.

According to the casualty lists I have, there is no Soldier named SPC Lee Kendall Tucker that has been killed in Iraq. There are three Tuckers listed, but none named Lee. According to the site, "Lee's Life for Lies" (I'm not going to provide a link), Tucker "was an anti-war activist, proving that many of [sic] U.S soldiers serving in Iraq are against this war and they have no reason to fight and die." However, if you read the Christmas letter, it just sounds so contrived. And is it more than coincidence that two of the names listed as Tucker's buddies are "Matthew" and "Parry". Do you think they watch Friends in Iraq? It reads more like propaganda than something a Soldier would write to his family. They tried too hard. Many of the pictures on the website, I've seen elsewhere which tells me that only some of the photos may even belong to SPC Tucker. It's obvious that they did indeed get a hold of some personal information as the photo page has a copy of one of Tucker's training certificates and other personal information.
The thing that got my attention was who the site is meant for - us. "We know that there are many good people just like LEE, but we can't verify them, as they are simply soldiers .. carrying weapons and wearing the uniform, so do your best to make sure that good people won't be deployed into "bad" situations …. Do your best to stop the war and get your countrymen out of Iraq." The video on the site is an obvious fabrication, with someone reading a "letter" that Tucker supposedly wrote along with snazzy editing. We are to assume that it is his voice.
Ladies and gentlemen, SPC, now SGT, Lee Tucker is alive and well. I looked him up on our internal Army information database and he's fine. The entire site is a sophisticated ploy by insurgents to sway public opinion towards them. They just have a sick way of doing it. It's got to be surreal for SGT Tucker. I know I'd be a little freaked out if I found a similar site based off of my life. Additionally, looking at the site registration, it's entirely possible that an American may be behind the entire site, though unlikely. The exact same name and phone number has also been used to register numerous other Islamic Army of Iraq websites. All registration data points to a specific address in LA with a phone number in Missouri (where the person doesn't exist). Very interesting.
In the video, a faceless "iraqi" man speaks of the many evils of the American occupation. It gets downright hilarious when they "call" a man named "John Smith" (who is supposed to be Lee Tucker) and conduct an "interview". Their poor choice of actors is highlighted through the obvious trouble reading off the text. Both actors are obviously in a controlled environment speaking into a microphone as opposed to a telephone call they're trying to replicate. The whole thing is just laughable.
The Islamic Army in Iraq gets its joys off of killing innocent people. They are your typical radical Islamic fundamentalists who want nothing but total destruction of the US and anarchy in Iraq (or Sharia Law; six of one, half dozen of another). They are now spoiling the good name of an honorable soldier. I have no doubt that soon SGT Tucker will probably have to answer a bunch of questions from overzealous officers and military civilians over this site and its claims. I'll keep him in my prayers that this doesn't ruin him.
Guess who's also listed on the link page of their website as organization they support…
Cindy Sheehag's outdated Casey Tribute Page.
    Code Pink
    Iraqi Coalition Casualty Count
    Iraq Veterans Against the War
    The Peace Park Project
    Military Families Speak Out
    Progressive Democrats of America
Truthout.org (who has a front page, center photo of subversive coward 1LT Ehren Wetarded) and others, one of which is actually a good site, though it's obvious why it was chosen - Fallen Heroes Memorial.

    exerpt:

After an investigation conducted by the SITE Institute it was found that the individual featured in this presentation, Lee Kendell Tucker, is alive and the letter is a fabrication by the Islamic Army and al-Boraq Media Organization for the sole purpose of propaganda and influencing English-speaking audiences.
