Yeah and I heard the word "homegrown" was used to describe the bomb assembly.

After Times Square Near-Attack, Now Comes the Blame Game

    By Dan Gainor
    FOXNews.com

What happened in Times Square on Saturday night was not just an attempted bombing, it’s a talking point. And that’s pathetic.

We’ve reached a low point in American culture where the media and elites of both sides in Washington are more interested in scoring points from a terror attack than preventing another one.

It’s too early to tell whether the would-be Time Square bomber(s) was left-wing, right-wing, foreign, domestic or just some random nut job. But everyone in political Washington and the media is looking to link this attack somewhere.

It’s not an attempted bombing, it’s a talking point.

    That’s pathetic.

Remember the attack on the Holocaust museum? Salon.com Editor-in-Chief Joan Walsh was one of many who said "conservatives" like Rush Limbaugh, were "whipping up" the climate of hate that spurred on morons like the alleged Holocaust Museum shooter James Von Brunn.

The left and the media tried to portray that as a right-wing extremist attack even though the very same attacker had gone after the government when Ronald Reagan was president. No conservative was unhappy when Reagan was at the helm.

The blame game happened in the Ft. Hood shooting and every single terror attack or hint of one this year. Unfortunately, this fits into the media theme that there is a right-wing uprising a-brewin’ in America.

Let’s get something straight. Contrary to the lefty media claiming otherwise, conservatives are anti-BIG-government, not anti-government. To claim, as The Washington Post did May 2, that Obama is battling anti-government forces makes America seem like some third world dictatorship.

“The White House has watched, despairingly at times, as tea party activists and top Republicans have stirred a pot of anti-tax, anti-government anger,” wrote The Post’s Peter Slevin.

He’s wrong. We’re Americans. We’re all Americans – left or right. When the attacks happened on 9/11, they didn’t discriminate by political view or party. There are people who hate us and they want to kill us – for any reason they can imagine including women’s rights, free speech, friendship with Israel and more.

D.C. doesn’t really care about that. If it did, we wouldn’t be having an immigration battle. The border would have been secured a long time ago and we’d have some viable guest worker program to provide labor in an orderly fashion. Instead, we have chaos at the border and narco terror just beyond. Yet the politicians in Washington dither and play blame games.

Watch the feeding frenzy that occurs as soon as we get hints of the bomber’s connections.

    Watch and feel sad.

The best part of the story is that they had this guy since Sunday and they knew he was going to be on a flight last night so they tailed him all the way through the airport and onto the plane. That is good detective work. See who this guy talks to and meets with before they snag him.

I bet the stupid muslim POS breathed a sigh of relief when the door of the plane was closed...."I'm free! these dumb Americans are looking for a white guy! Then the door opens again and they yank his dumb ass off the plane. The pilot was told ahead of time that he wouldn't be taking off. There was NO chance this guy was getting away.

Times Square bomb plot suspect arrested 'at last second'

    By the CNN Wire Staff
    May 4, 2010 11:25 a.m. EDTMay 4, 2010 11:25 a.m. EDT

Faisal Shahzad, 30, was arrested Monday night as he prepared to fly to Dubai and then on to Pakistan, officials said.

The latest details on the dramatic investigation in the Times Square bomb plot and the arrest of Faisal Shahzad. Starting at 7 p.m. ET Tuesday on CNN.
New York (CNN) -- Authorities hunting for the suspect in the botched Times Square bombing dramatically beat the clock overnight, seizing a Pakistani-American citizen moments before he was set to begin a long trip to his strife-torn homeland.

Faisal Shahzad, 30, was arrested around 11:45 p.m. ET Monday at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, said Attorney General Eric Holder.

President Obama said Tuesday that "justice will be done" in the case and that U.S. officials "will do everything in our power to protect the American people."

The failed bombing is "another sobering reminder of the times in which we live," Obama told an audience of business leaders. But the United States "will be vigilant" and "will not cower in fear."

Shahzad will appear after 2 p.m. ET Tuesday in federal court, the U.S. attorney's office in Manhattan said.

Jeffrey Toobin: What to watch for at hearing

Shahzad was on board Emirates Airlines Flight 202 to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and the jetway had been pulled back when the plane was called to return to the gate, a law enforcement source said. Shahzad was booked through to Islamabad, Pakistan, via Dubai, a senior airline official confirmed.

"They just caught him at the last second," a law enforcement source said.

The FBI said its agents and New York detectives arrested Shahzad "for allegedly driving a car bomb into Times Square."

Latest updates in Times Square bomb scare

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg praised the dogged law enforcement efforts but also said the city won't tolerate any backlash against Pakistanis or Muslims.

"This was an act designed to kill innocent civilians and strike fear into the hearts of Americans," Bloomberg said. "And I'm happy to say that it failed on both counts. We will not be intimidated by those who hate the freedoms that make the city and this country so great."

Security officials removed three passengers from the flight late Monday, including Shahzad, a senior airline official said.

Authorities searched the plane, luggage and checked all passengers again before the flight took off early Tuesday for Dubai.

The two passengers taken off with Shahzad were cleared and released later Tuesday, a law enforcement source said. The two "had nothing to do with this" but were removed from the plane in an abundance of caution "in the rush of the moment," the source said.

    Timeline in bomb plot

Police have been engaged in a furious manhunt in the New York area for those responsible for an intended terrorist attack Saturday night in the heart of Manhattan's Times Square.

According to a source familiar with the investigation, the individuals didn't have the expertise to detonate a parked Nissan Pathfinder containing propane tanks, fertilizer and gasoline.

Authorities focused on Shahzad when they traced evidence to him from the sale of the Nissan Pathfinder used in the failed attack -- information considered the linchpin of the case.

The Nissan Pathfinder had its vehicle identification number removed from the dashboard. Police climbed under the SUV and retrieved the VIN from the bottom of its engine block.

This breakthrough led investigators to the vehicle's registered owner and then on to Shahzad, who purchased the SUV, an official said.

The Nissan Pathfinder was sold three weeks ago in a cash deal with no paperwork exchanged, a law enforcement source with knowledge of the investigation said Monday. The $1,800 deal was closed at a Connecticut shopping mall, where the buyer handed over the money and drove off, the source said.

Cell phone calls conducted for the purchase of the vehicle helped lead police to the suspect, law enforcement sources said.

Sources said investigators got cell phone information from the daughter of the Nissan Pathfinder owner. She sold the vehicle to Shahzad on behalf of her father.

She talked on the phone to Shahzad in organizing the purchase of the sport utility vehicle, which was advertised for sale on Craigslist.
With memories of the September 11, 2001, attack fresh in the minds of police, detectives pored through video cameras of Times Square and worked to determine who carried out the action -- international terrorists, a lone individual or other networks.

John Brennan, President Obama's top counterterrorism adviser, kept the president abreast of the probe throughout Monday and informed him of Shahzad's arrest early Tuesday, the White House said.

Obama was to make remarks on the arrest Tuesday morning, a senior administration official said.

Hours after the arrest, police were seen at a house in a Bridgeport, Connecticut, working-class neighborhood as part of the investigation. Agents with the FBI and local police, including members of a bomb squad, conducted a search, and investigators removed filled plastic bags.

Another law enforcement source said Shahzad claimed to have acted alone in the attempted bombing, but the Joint Terrorism Task Force has said it's considering the possibility that the attempt involved more than just a "lone wolf."

A woman who said she lived next door to Shahzad in Shelton, Connecticut, said there was some kind of police activity at his former residence Monday.

Brenda Thurman said Tuesday that the man she knew was quiet and claimed to work on Wall Street.

"He would wear all black and jog at night. He said he didn't like the sunlight," Thurman said.

She said that Shahzad, his wife, two children and his wife's two sisters lived next to her for about three years, moving out in July 2009.
The neighbor said she often saw Shahzad leaving the home in the morning and returning in the evening. She also saw him in his yard with his children, a boy and a girl, and said she never suspected he might be involved in a possible terror attack.

"I didn't think he was capable of doing something like that. ... I'm very shocked," she said.

While police continued to piece together information about Shahzad, they learned he traveled to Dubai before, most recently in June 2009 and returned to the United States in early February, a law enforcement official said.

    Suspect's Pakistan residency

Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik said Shahzad has a Karachi identification card, a sign of Pakistani residency, and that his family is from volatile northwestern Pakistan, where government forces have been fighting Taliban militants, who have strongholds in the area.

Shahzad became a U.S. citizen on April 17, 2009, which aided investigators in the case, the federal law enforcement source said.

Because of his recent change in residency status, authorities had his picture and were able to show it to the seller of the vehicle, who identified Shahzad as the purchaser.

CNN's Susan Candiotti, Caroline Faraj, Deborah Feyerick and Dan Lothian contributed to this report.

These Dems and socialists and the rest of their ilk were salivating at the thought of a perp walk with a balding white guy at center stage.

It would have fit right into their narrative. Now...they don't know what to do...just another crazy muslim...they're not all like that you see.

Oops! Leftwing Blogosphere Forced Into Embarrassing Backtrack on Times Square Bomber ID

By P.J. Gladnick (Bio | Archive)
    Tue, 05/04/2010 - 14:46 ET

It appears that it wasn't only media types such as MSNBC's Contessa Brewer who were disappointed that the Times Square bombing suspect turned out to be a Muslim. They were joined by virtually the entire leftwing blogosphere in their frustration that the suspect wasn't a tea party activist or a member of a "rightwing" militia group. Before the identity of the bombing suspect was made known, Kossack "waterboard sean" conducted a pollresults of that poll (I am using Kossack terminology here): on who the perpetrator could be. And here are the hilarious
    An al Qaeda terrorist ---4%
An American sympathetic to al Qaeda ---5%
    A militia wackjob ---30%
    A teapartier ---32%
    A religious wackjob ---9%

Gee! Let's see... Virtually all acts of terrorism during the past dozen years have been committed by Islamic terrorists yet only 9% of the clueless Kossacks suspect them. Instead, 71% ascribed the act to the group that Contessa Brewer was hoping would be guilty ...conservatives.
Just as funny as the absurd results of this poll are the comments by waterboard sean and his fellow Kossacks. Here is waterboard sean acting like quite the "expert" on the identy of the bombing suspect:
I am beginning to have a sneaking suspicion that the "Times Square bomber" story is going to get very ugly for the Fox News/Limbaugh types.
So far what we know: He's a white guy. He stole someone's car (not a rental?) He didn't blow himself up. He used nonexplosive fertilizer (manure?) which suggests he has no training in bomb making.
So, could this be an anti-government wacko? Or something else?
Something else like an Al Qaeda member/sympathizer? Where could we get a crazy idea like this? The other Kossacks chime in with their views:
You didn't list Dick Cheney in your poll
Does it make it better if it is a non-American?
Most likely a right wing McVeigh wannabe
Perhaps Beck inspired, but Beck himself, not so sure.
A paid shill by BP to keep the media attention diverted from the earth changing disaster unfolding and worsening day after day! Am I paranoid or what?
So a day goes by and waterboard sean is forced to post a new thread, umm...it appears I was wrong, when the identity of the attempted Times Square bombing was made known. Watch as waterboard sean, with an egg-covered face, is forced to eat crow in a most humiliating manner:
Yesterday I put up a poll to see what folks thought would be the outcome of the Times Square bomber case. While about 40 folks said my posting was stupid, 459 people voted.
Given events, I think the outcome was interesting. Only 24 people (I can't do math, so I don't know the percentage, but it's low) said that this fellow was an American sympathetic to al Qaeda. On the other hand, more than half -- 288 -- said that the would-be bomber was a militia or tea partier guy.
Now, Faisal Shahzad should be presumed innocent by all of us. However, the probability that this had nothing to do with any conservative movement is now extremely low.
That leads me to one thing I should say: I argued my belief that this would be an anti-government type. I was wrong.
Given the criticism, I felt like my posting was wrong to do. But now I'm glad I did it, because we have some information that gives us -- particularly me -- something to think about. . It is interesting to see how many of us -- me included -- went the direction we did in our predictions. And I don't know what that says, but perhaps it does mean we are classifying tea partiers too strongly. Perhaps not. But I think it's an interesting thing.

Don't feel so bad, waterboard sean. Many in the MSM, such as Contessa Brewer feel just as you do...disappointment that the suspect turned out to have the background that was the obvious choice to most rational folks.
Of course, the DUers at the Democratic Underground were also disappointed that the background of bombing suspect wasn't what they wanted it to be as you can see in these comments:
All I hope is that they have ties to the teabaggers
    My Guess:
    Right Wing
    White Male
    American
    Flag Waving Patriot
    TEABAGGER
McVeigh / Ruby Ridge / Waco fanatic
    2nd Ammendment Gun Nut
    Fundamentalist Evangelical Christian
    and most importantly:
    Anti-Immigration Zealot.

Hmm... Does Contessa Brewer have a DU account? You can read more of DUer hope and disappointment at the DUmmie FUnnies.

HOUSTON - A small piece of luggage exploded at Bush Intercontinental Airport on Tuesday afternoon. No injuries were reported.

According to a spokeswoman for the Houston Airport System, the luggage exploded shortly after the jet landed around 2 p.m.

Ground crews said they noticed something strange about the luggage and were working to remove it when the explosion occurred.

While no injuries were reported, several agencies including the Houston Fire Department, were called to the scene.

The flight number and airline on which the luggage was carried was not immediately released, and no further information was available.

The Miracle Gro Taliban Tea Party Terrorist

    by John Galt

    May 4, 2010

Mayor BLOOMBERG: “Home-grown, maybe a mentally deranged person or somebody with a political agenda that doesn’t like the health care bill or something. It could be anything.”

-From Mayor Bloomberg interview with Katy Couric on CBS News, Monday 5/3/10 courtesy of dailycaller.com

Apparently the wishes on one Mr. Mayor Bloomberg, a supporter of socialist Fascism in his own right, had his delusional fantasy shot to hell when the terrorist was arrested on board the plane while it was taxiing down the tarmac at JFK early this morning. Much to the dismay of the Mayor, it was not a fertilizer bomb making delusional redneck from Boondocks, West Virginia, but instead a naturalized American citizen with delusions of being with the 73 virgins who look like Rosie O’Donnell and smell like the Hudson River. This clown is exactly what America needs:

    A wake up call.

I’m not talking about the suspect, Shahad Faisal, of whom if they could they would declare his intent was to create a Miracle Gro bomb in the name of the Taliban Tea Party to retaliate against Viacom for their anti-Christian television programming on MTV and its other networks. Much to the disappointment of the Mayor and the PCP (Politically Correct Police) who have set up a regime in Washington, D.C., this gentleman is a representative of the “religion of peace” and indicative of the attitude of radicalized Muslims around the world, who number in the tens of millions.

The reality of this current mood of the Left and the radicals in charge is much worse and I’m willing to wager 25 cents (it’s all I have left) with anyone on the following:

That there are more American intelligence agents or moles, plus FBI infiltrators and informers, plus other law enforcement agents acting against or working undercover in the 9-12 movement, the Tea Parties, Christian churches, patriot groups and/or message boards, and Constitutional militias than they have inserted in Russia, Communist China, Venezuela, Iran, Al Queda, Hezbollah, the Taliban, radicalized Saudi Mosques in the U.S., ELF, Black Panthers, or Revolutionary Communist Party U.S.A. COMBINED.

That very fact should give every red blooded American a pause for one moment. This is not a right-left discussion, liberal-conservative debate, or even a conflict between Demopublicans and Republicrats. This is about a debate for which Americans are just now starting to discover and wake up to and are sadly, ill prepared to deal with. This is a debate about groups who wish to destroy the functional aspects of our society and encourage just enough anarchy to enable an extremist agenda to be inserted via extra-Constitutional means.

This is not to be ignored and must be taken seriously. Yet few will wake up in time to stop what is already in motion. The people who love debate, freedom and our history are now the villains and alleged terrorists; while those who believe in Marxism and act against freedom are now the heroes. I’ve seen this movie before and it ended in tears for the world.

And just what is the wake up call I referred to earlier in the article? Perhaps a look at this picture should be a brief reminder as to why the wolves who claim to protect your freedoms might be something else entirely:

No naturalized Pakistani-American Taliban Al Queda members were injured in the creation of this editorial.

Faisal Shahzad, 30, was arrested Monday night as he prepared to fly to Dubai and then on to Pakistan, officials said.

As you are being singled out for your beliefs and called a tea bagging racist, they have the doors wide open for bringing in more just like him.
