The cold-blooded fiend who assassinated two police officers was a troubled, violent and suicidal transient who frightened even his own mother, authorities said Sunday.
Gunman Ismaaiyl Brinsley had a “very troubled childhood” and had previously tried to kill himself, his mother told authorities, according to NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce.
“The mother expressed fear of him, and she said she hasn’t seen him in one month,” Boyce said. “Brinsley attempted suicide in the past and attempted to hang himself a year ago.”
The 28-year-old cop killer, who is estranged from his family, has a criminal record that stretches back at least a decade, with arrests in Ohio and Georgia.

Brinsley had a long criminal record, with four arrests in Ohio and 15 in Georgia.The 28-year-old's rap sheet included misdemeanor assault, shoplifting, grand larceny and gun possession.

Brinsley had 15 prior arrests in Georgia for misdemeanor assault, shoplifting, grand larceny and gun possession, Boyce said.
Brinsley was also arrested four times in Ohio for robbery and misdemeanor theft and did a two-year prison stint from August 2011 to July 2013 for criminal possession of a weapon, said Boyce. In one 2011 plea deal, he answered “yes” when asked if he had ever been in a mental institution or under the care of a psychiatrist, court records show.
Despite the long rap sheet, a friend of Brinsley said he was shocked to hear about the twisted execution, describing the killer as a smart and “God-fearing” man.

“This would’ve never crossed my mind for him to do something like this,” said Jay Romero, who spent a month with Brinsley last Christmas.
“It brought tears to my eyes. No human has the right to take any human’s life, that’s wrong,” said Romero, 29. “What he did is a cowardly move. I don’t know what he went through, what was on his mind.”
After shooting his ex-girlfriend in Maryland, cops said Brinsley drove to Brooklyn and ambushed Officers Rafael Ramos, 40, and Wenjian Liu, 32, as they were sitting in their patrol car in Brooklyn. He then blew his brains out on a nearby G train platform.

Romero, a janitor in a Las Vegas casino, said he met Brinsley two years ago in Los Angeles.
Romero said Brinsley visited him for a month last year, before he left to see friends in Boston.
He’d also stay with his mom in Brooklyn, pals in Atlanta and his girlfriend outside Baltimore. “He didn’t have a stable place to live,” said Romero.

He said Brinsley had two daughters and had been dating a woman in Baltimore for a long time and mentioned her often.
“He always talked about her, that she was the only girl he loved,” he said.
Brinsley’s rampage started about 5:45 a.m. when he shot ex-girlfriend Shaneka Thompson in Owings Mills, Md., police said.

He stole the 29-year-old woman’s phone and took off to his native Brooklyn, posting ominous messages on Instagram showing his bloodstained pants and the handgun that was later used to murder the officers.
Romero said Brinsley would often post news stories on his Facebook page, but never accompanied them with strong opinions. He didn’t remember Brinsley talking about killing cops.

Officials said it didn’t appear that Brinsley was affiliated with any gang.
Brinsley was Muslim and also went by Isaiah and Moses, Romero said.
The Vegas man said he’d refer to his friend as “Brooklyn” when they texted each other.
“He was very proud of being where he was from, Brooklyn,” he said.

NEW YORK - The New York Police Department says a gunman who ambushed two officers in their car told two passers-by to "watch what I'm going to do."

Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce says 28-year-old Ismaaiyl Brinsley talked to people on the street just moments before the shooting and told them to follow him on the social media site Instagram.

Boyce said Brinsley had a criminal history with at least 19 arrests and his family told police he tried to hang himself last year.

Brinsley approached a parked squad car from behind on Saturday and opened fire, fatally striking two officers before killing himself. Hours earlier, he had shot and wounded his ex-girlfriend at her home outside Baltimore.

Boyce says Brinsley had ranted online about police and government and expressed despair about his own life.

Big-city police departments and union leaders warned officers Sunday to change up their routines and insist on extra backup after a gunman who had ranted online about the slayings of black men killed two New York patrolmen sitting in their squad car.

The killings on Saturday dramatically escalated tensions that have simmered for months over the deaths of young black men.

Investigators were trying to determine if the killer really had a deep sympathy for the protests or simply latched on to the cause for the final act of a violent spree. The gunman, who ended up killing himself, had vowed online to put "wings on pigs" after shooting his girlfriend in suburban Baltimore.

The siege mentality was evident in several memos circulating among the rank and file at the 35,000-officer New York Police Department, the nation's largest.

A union-generated message warned police officers they should respond to every radio call with two cars -- "no matter what the opinion of the patrol supervisor" -- and to not make arrests "unless absolutely necessary." The president of the detectives' union told members in a letter to work in threes when out on the street, wear bulletproof vests and keep aware of their surroundings.

"Cowards such as yesterday's killer strike when you are distracted and vulnerable," the letter read.

Another directive warned officer in Newark, New Jersey not to patrol alone and avoid people looking for confrontations with them. A the same time, a memo from an NYPD chief asked officers to avoid fanning rage within the ranks by limiting comments "via all venues, including social media, to expressions of sorrow and condolence. ... Even in our most difficult times, we will remain consummate professionals."

The shooter, 28-year-old Ismaaiyl Brinsley, traveled by bus to New York City on after wounding his girlfriend. Once he arrived, he approached a parked squad car and opened fire, striking Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu in the head.

Before the shootings, Brinsley wrote on an Instagram account: "I'm putting wings on pigs today. They take 1 of ours, let's take 2 of theirs," officials said. He used the hashtags Shootthepolice RIPErivGardner (sic) RIPMikeBrown -- references to the police killing of two unarmed black men, Eric Garner and Michael Brown.

The slayings come at a tense time; Police in New York and nationwide are being criticized for their tactics, following the July death of Garner, who was stopped on suspicion of selling loose, untaxed cigarettes. Amateur video captured an officer wrapping his arm around Garner's neck and wrestling him to the ground. Garner was heard gasping, "I can't breathe" before he lost consciousness and later died.

Demonstrators around the country have staged die-ins and other protests since a grand jury decided Dec. 3 not to indict the officer in Garner's death, a decision that closely followed a Missouri grand jury's refusal to indict a white officer in the fatal shooting of Brown, an unarmed black 18-year-old.

Commissioner William Bratton said Saturday that the suspect had a history of making anti-police comments. But it remained unclear Sunday whether he had any involvement in the protest movement.

Court records in Georgia show that Brinsley had several run-ins with the law there in recent years. Charges included gun possession, shop-lifting and theft.

Bratton and De-Blasio attended Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral, where Cardinal Timothy Dolan called for calm. He asked the police commissioner to tell his troops that "we love them very much, we mourn with them, we need them, we respect them, we're proud of them and we thank them."

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams visited a makeshift memorial at the site of the slayings, calling on protest organizers to "hold off on any type of protest until these officers are laid to rest in a peaceful manner."

At an appearance with the Rev. Al Sharpton where he denounced violence against police, Garner's mother expressed her dismay.

"I'm standing here in sorrow about losing those two police officers that was definitely not our agenda," Gwen Garner said.

"We are going in peace and anyone who's standing with us we want you to not use Eric Garner's name for violence because we are not about that," she said. "These two police officers lost their lives senselessly and our condolence to the family and we stand with the families."

Caution urged for Detroit area cops after N.Y.C. attack

The alarming shooting of two New York City Police officers served as a harsh reminder for local officials about the dangers faced by those who wear the badge in the current post-Ferguson climate.
A 28-year-old man with a busy criminal past shot Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu Saturday in New York’s Bedford Stuyvesant neighborhood. Prior to the shooting, investigators said Ismaaiyl Brinsley posted comments online indicating an intention to kill police officers.
In addition, he also made reference to the deaths of Mike Brown and Eric Garner — two men who died in separate confrontations with police officers this year. Brinsley later shot and killed himself at nearby subway station.
On Sunday, the Associated Press reported some large metropolitan police departments and unions had told officers to alter their patrol routines and use extra backup when possible on calls.
Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said the weekend’s events in New York would serve as a reminder for deputies of the dangers they face day in and day out.
“Any time there is an attack on any law enforcement officer, across the country or here in Michigan, it’s always something we take a hard look at,” he said. “We go back and stress to our deputies the importance of the basics and making sure they’re keeping their guards up.
“We want them to do the job and we want to ensure they go home to their families.”
Warren Mayor Jim Fouts said the shootings, as well as ways to boost police security, would be a topic of discussion for city officials on Monday.
“I’m not sure what additional things you can do,” he said Sunday evening. “In some situations, where incidents occur involving a single police officer, you can add a partner. But this was two officers.
“I want to do whatever we can to protect our officers because they protect our citizens.”
On Saturday, Detroit Police James Craig said his officers had been urged to use greater caution in the wake of the New York shootings, as well as reports of recent on-line threats made against police officers in Cleveland.
“If someone chooses, gang-member or otherwise, to threaten Detroit police officers, we will use every effort to find you. We will arrest you. And we’re good at what we do.”
But in the post-Ferguson period, with anger directed at law enforcement personnel nationwide, even those statements drew criticism.
“Out of his own mouth, Chief Craig said that there are no credible threats against (Detroit) police officers,” wrote Roland Lawrence, chairman of the Justice for Aiyana Jones Committee. Jones, 7, was killed in 2010 during a raid by Detroit police.
“Instead of offering remarks on how the community and police can improve their relationships, his remarks were antagonistic and insensitive to the challenges both police families and civilian families face daily.”

The murders of two New York City officers ambushed in their car in Brooklyn by a man claiming to be retaliating for police killings of unarmed black men prompted calls to tamp down racial tensions.
The ambush of Officers Rafael Ramos, 40, and Wenjian Liu, 32, followed online postings by the man, identified by police as Ismaaiyl Brinsley, referring to the deaths of Eric Garner of Staten Island and Michael Brown of Missouri. In both cases, grand juries declined to charge police with wrongdoing, prompting nationwide protests.
“This tragic moment may be an opportunity for people to understand each other,” Pastor Michael A. Walrond Jr. of the 8,000-member First Corinthian Baptist Church in Harlem said in an interview. “The pain of a mother whose son lay dead on the ground is the same pain of a 13-year-old boy who lost his police officer father. My hope is that this will shock people into coming together.”
The murders, which Mayor Bill de Blasio called a “despicable act,” heightened tension between the mayor and police unions over his comments on the grand jury decision in Garner’s death, and de Blasio’s handling of resulting street protests. At a Dec. 3 news conference, de Blasio cast his reaction in personal terms, saying he and his wife Chirlane, who is black, have spoken with their son, Dante, about being careful dealing with police.
Vigil, March

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, a police officer for 22 years, called on New Yorkers to join him at the scene of the killings in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section for a candlelight vigil in memory of the fallen men.
“It must be perfectly clear that reform can never and must never mean retaliation,” Adams said in a statement posted on his Facebook page.
The Justice League, an offshoot of a social justice organization founded by singer Harry Belafonte that met with de Blasio last week, held a candlelight march through Harlem to Walrond’s church to remember “all victims of violence.”
Julian Love, 26, a management consultant who lives in Bedford-Stuyvesant, said protests need to stay peaceful to really achieve change.
“That’s not going to solve what needs to be solved,” Love said at the Harlem church, referring to violence. “That’s not going to get us justice.”
‘Reprehensible’ Link

Reverend Al Sharpton, a New York civil rights leader, said he and the Garner family were outraged by the officers’ killings and that using Garner’s and Brown’s names as justification was “reprehensible and against the pursuit of justice.”
U.S. President Barack Obama denounced the killings and telephoned Police Commissioner William Bratton to offer his “full support for any possible assistance,” according to a White House statement.
Public Advocate Letitia James, New York City’s highest-ranking black official, called for “unity and understanding” following the killings.
“Divisive rhetoric will do nothing to honor the dignity of these two fallen officers or soothe the piercing pain of their families,” she said.
De Blasio took office in January as the first Democrat to run City Hall in 20 years after a campaign that highlighted economic inequality and criticized police policies.
He vowed to end stop-and-frisk tactics that had been challenged in federal court as discriminatory, and reached an agreement with those who sued.
Former New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, speaking on the ABC program “This Week,” said the mayor’s statements about protecting his son from police had set off a “firestorm.”
Bloody Hands

Officers turned their backs on de Blasio as he walked into a press briefing on the deaths Saturday night, and Pat Lynch, president of the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association, blamed the mayor for the shootings at a separate press conference.
“There’s blood on many hands,” Lynch said, according to a video on the union’s website. “Those that incited violence on this street under the guise of protests, that tried to tear down what New York City police officers did every day. We tried to warn it must not go on, it cannot be tolerated.
‘‘That blood on the hands starts on the steps of city hall in the office of the mayor,’’ he said.
Albert O’Leary, a spokesman for the union, declined to comment on Lynch’s remarks. Robert Mladinich, a spokesman for the Sergeant’s Benevolent Association, didn’t respond to requests for comment.
Extra Caution

New Jersey’s police union issued an alert to its 33,000 members urging them to take extra caution due to increased hostility from protests, citing a ‘‘fever pitch of anti-police sentiment,” the Associated Press reported. James Ryan, a union spokesman, didn’t respond to an e-mail seeking comment on the alert.
Former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, on “Fox News Sunday,” criticized Lynch’s remarks while saying the mayor had allowed protests to get out of control. Former Governor George Pataki said in a Twitter message that he was “sickened by these barbaric acts,” which he called “a predictable outcome of divisive anti-cop rhetoric” by de Blasio and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.
Shortly before the shootings, Brinsley approached two men on the street and told them to follow him on Instagram, Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said.
Then, he said, the man told them: “Watch what I’m going to do.”
‘Shooting Stance’

Police said the officers were sitting in a marked car near a housing project about 2:47 p.m. when the 28-year-old gunman walked up to the passenger side, took a “shooting stance” and fired four times, striking both officers in the head.
Earlier in the day, Brinsley had shot and wounded his former girlfriend in Baltimore County, Maryland, then made “very anti-police postings” on social media, police said. He took a bus to New York, arriving about four hours before the police killings.
Baltimore authorities notified the New York Police Department and other agencies about Brinsley about 2:45 p.m. -- just before the officers were killed.
The policemen had no chance to draw their weapons and may never have seen Brinsley, Bratton said. Both were pronounced dead at Woodhull Medical Center.
Subway Suicide

Brinsley, pursued by other officers, ran into a subway station at Myrtle Avenue and Willoughby Street and killed himself with a gunshot to the head, Bratton said. A silver semi-automatic pistol was found near the body.
Ramos was a two-year veteran of the NYPD and was married with a 13-year-old son, while Liu had been with the department seven years and was recently married, police said. It was the seventh time since 1972 that a pair of New York City officers had been killed while working together as partners, according to Bratton.
“It’s sometime difficult to find the words to speak to events like those that occurred today, to try and make sense of them, but we’ll try,” Bratton said.
“Today, two of New York’s Finest were shot and killed, with no warning, no provocation,” he said. “They were, quite simply, assassinated -- targeted for their uniform, and for the responsibility they embraced: to keep the people of this city safe.”
Brinsley, who was born in Brooklyn and went to high school in New Jersey, had an arrest record for almost 20 crimes in Georgia and Ohio since 2004, including assault and robbery, Boyce said. He spent two years behind bars in Georgia for weapons possession and was released in July 2013, Boyce said.
His family told police Brinsley was often violent and had tried to commit suicide, Boyce said.
After shooting his ex-girlfriend, Brinsley phoned her mother to say it was an accident. He said he hoped she would survive, police said.

Time: Right-Wing Militias Are The Real Threat To Cops

Time Magazine warned of a growing threat to cops nationwide in September 2010. The nationally renowned publication argued that sinister individuals would launch targeted attacks against police officers and even ambush them in their patrol cars.

Time alerted readers that these groups and individuals have a disturbing hatred of cops and that there was a real threat of “lone-wolf” attacks.

Who are these groups that present such a threat to police? Right-wing militias, according to Time.

In a lengthy six-page article entitled “The Secret World of Extremist Militias,” then-Time Contributing Editor-at-Large Barton Gellman made the case that America should be deeply worried about private citizens forming militias.

“Scores of armed antigovernment groups, some of them far more radical, have formed or been revived during the Obama years, according to law-enforcement agencies and outside watchdogs. A six-month TIME investigation reveals that recruiting, planning, training and explicit calls for a shooting war are on the rise, as are criminal investigations by the FBI and state authorities. Readier for bloodshed than at any time since at least the confrontations in the 1990s in Ruby Ridge, Idaho, and Waco, Texas, the radical right has raised the threat level against the President and other government targets,” the article says.

It even claimed that militia violence, whatever that constituted, was on the rise, and more bloodshed should be expected.

“With violence already up on a modest scale, FBI, Department of Homeland Security [DHS] and state agencies point to two main dangers of a mass-casualty attack: that a group of armed radicals will strike out in perceived self-defense, or that a lone wolf, trained and indoctrinated for war, will grow tired of waiting,” Gellman wrote.

Gellman goes on to claim that these groups have a “dangerous” ideology, which includes patriotism and a strong support for the Second Amendment. He spends most of the article trying to link unrelated acts of violence by white supremacists to “patriot” militia groups, and attempts to coax his interview subjects to say they are ready to commit acts of terrorism.

The author specifically warns that these groups pose an imminent threat to law enforcement officials and should be closely monitored. Gellman relies heavily on a retracted 2009 DHS report — simply titled “Rightwing Extremism” — for his finding. That very same report was quickly pulled by the DHS after its release and was widely criticized for claiming that ordinary citizens upset by the election of President Barack Obama pose a danger to the country.

Since the article’s publication, there have hardly been any reported cases of violence stemming from individuals connected to the militia movement. There is one possible case from June of this year, but it could not be determined whether the two killers in the Las Vegas shooting spree had any connections with militia groups.

Meanwhile, the suspected gunman behind the Saturday ambush of two New York City police officers was certainly not a right-wing militant. Ismaaiyl Brinsley was reportedly a member of the notorious prison gang, the Black Guerrilla Family, which espouses a mix of black nationalism and Marxism. The gang declared “open season” on NYPD officers earlier in December following the non-indictment of the officer involved in the death of Eric Garner.

A thorough search of Time’s archive produced no stories about the threat that communists, black nationalists or prison gangs pose to police.

President Obama met with Ferguson protest leaders on November 5th, the day after the midterm elections. The meeting was not on his daily schedule. He was concerned that the protesters “stay on course.”

What does that mean?

And why is the president meeting with the violent Mike Brown protesters before a verdict is reached in the court case?

The Ferguson protesters have looted over 100 businesses in the St. Louis area.

The New York Times hid this in the 21st paragraph of their report:

But leaders here say that is the nature of a movement that has taken place, in part, on social media and that does not match an earlier-era protest structure where a single, outspoken leader might have led the way. “This is not your momma’s civil rights movement,” said Ashley Yates, a leader of Millennial Activists United. “This is a movement where you have several difference voices, different people. The person in charge is really — the people. But the message from everyone is the same: Stop killing us.”

At times, there has been a split between national civil rights leaders and the younger leaders on the ground here, who see their efforts as more immediate, less passive than an older generation’s. But some here said relations have improved in recent weeks.

Some of the national leaders met with President Obama on Nov. 5 for a gathering that included a conversation about Ferguson.

According to the Rev. Al Sharpton, who has appeared frequently in St. Louis with the Brown family and delivered a speech at Mr. Brown’s funeral, Mr. Obama “was concerned about Ferguson staying on course in terms of pursuing what it was that he knew we were advocating. He said he hopes that we’re doing all we can to keep peace.”

Speaking at publicly supported Morgan State University in Baltimore, a predominantly black institution of higher learning, Nation of Islam leader Luis Farrakhan issued threats over the shooting of Michael Brown and the no true bill verdict of the grand jury investigating it. The Daily Caller reports:

Farrakhan stated in his speech — given at Morgan State University, a black college located in Baltimore, Md. — that violence was justified in response to the decision not to indict officer Darren Wilson and peaceful protests are only in the interest of “white folks.”

We going to die anyway. Let’s die for something,” the radical figure told the crowd to roaring applause.

He even said the parents of teenagers should teach their kids how to throw Molotov cocktails. “Teach your baby how to throw the bottle if they can. Fight,” the minister advised, and then imitated throwing the explosive device.

Farrakhan argued that violence was justified by the “law of retaliation” HE claims is in both the Bible and the Koran.

“In this book, there’s a law for retaliation,” he said, while holding up what appeared to be the NOI version of the Koran, and repeated, “A law for retaliation.”

I am no lawyer, but this sounds like incitement to violence to me. You can watch him below, if you have the stomach.

Protests continue by gang people, occupiers, pro-Palestine radicals, and assorted leftists on behalf of deceased black teen Michael Brown who was shot by a white police officer,possibly in self-defense. A group called FergusonOctober.com is planning a three-day weekend of protests and riots in Ferguson this weekend. They are calling it a weekend of resistance.

Pro-Palestinian and other Muslim activist groups are a growing presence in the Ferguson protests. A number of these groups, named “The Palestine Contingent,” are planning to join the “Weekend of Resistance” to highlight the supposed connection between the Missouri community and Gaza.

The same thing happened in Occupy Wall Street – from the beginning. The movement had more than its fair share of anti-Semites, many of whom were Jewish themselves. Many Occupiers will be involved with these rallies though if they’re smart, the white OWS will stay out of Ferguson.

There is a sympathy “rally” in Oakland, as in many cities, beginning October 10th. It’s titled, “From Ferguson to Gaza Back to Oakland, All Power (48th BPP Anniversary)”. It’s to celebrate “the 48th Anniversary of the Black Panther Party, Political Prisoner/P.O.W. Jalil Muntaqim’s Birthday, & Solidarity for the Trayvon 2.”

The rallyers/protesters are celebrating criminals and murderers so it makes sense they’d include Ferguson. It’s being run by a radical named Shango Abiola who leads the Black Riders Liberation Party.

Police are trying to keep order in Ferguson and one tactic they are using to keep the protesters moving is to apply a five-second rule to loitering. Loitering by criminals and malcontents is a recipe for trouble
It’s a common tactic. When the Occupy Wall Street people were camped out in New York City, law enforcement used the same approach.

The ACLU of Missouri wanted none of it. The ACLU is a leftist organization.

They secured an injunction from a judge to end the “five-second rule”.

“The rule of law is essential to our constitutional system of government, and it applies equally to law enforcement officers and to other citizens,” wrote Judge Perry in her ruling.

As if the leftists in the ACLU care about our constitution. They care about it when it affects them. They like freedom of speech for themselves but hate religion and Christians as one example.

The ACLU and the Ferguson protesters are all the same people – leftist trouble makers – and they are all promoted by Barack Obama and Eric Holder as we know.

Ferguson protest leaders have promised “We’ll take our anger out on people who failed us.”

Organizers of demonstrations in Ferguson, Missouri, promised to intensify their protests over the killing of Michael Brown if the officer who shot him does not face criminal charges.

They warned police that they are prepared to die on the streets for their cause.

“If they can’t serve justice in this, the people have every right to go out and express their rage in a manner that is equal to what we have suffered,” said Ashley Yates, a co-founder of Millennial Activists United, who was arrested last week while protesting in Ferguson.

This has nothing to do with Michael Brown for these leftists or their White House promoter Barack Obama. It’s about the movement.

You and God Are Under Attack: Beck Breaks Down Atheism and the Religious Left

Whether being leveled by Atheists, Islamists, or members of the far-left faith community, it appears America’s Judeo-Christian foundation is under assault from all angles. Israel and the Jewish people, too, have not escaped persecution at the hands of some usual suspects. That was the overriding theme of Monday evening’s Glenn Beck Program with guest, Blaze Faith Editor, Billy Hallowell.

A review of recent events doesn’t bode well for faith-keepers and those who stand with Israel:

Over the weekend, Atheists held what they dubbed the “Reason Rally,” at the National Mall, encouraging secularists from around the country to attend and “bring their kids” to partake of the “fun” — a portion of which consisted of a “musical” interlude where the Pope was berated with a four-letter expletive nearly 80 (yes, 80) times. While the spectacle was clearly not suitable for young ears (many would argue it wasn’t even suitable for adults), children were encouraged to participate in the rally and offered a taste of what is on offer all season at secular summer camp.

The rally, heavily funded by millionaire Todd Stiefel, included notable secularist groups American Atheists, Richard Dawkins Foundation and the often controversial Freedom From Religion Foundation, among others. The goal of the event was to tout the virtues of what Atheists consider common sense over dogma.

According to News Observer, in February, Stiefel gave $500,000 to the Secular Coalition for America, a Washington-based organization that lobbies on behalf of several atheist, humanist and agnostic organizations. He also contributed two smaller gifts to two of the coalition’s members: a $100,000 matching grant to American Atheists and a $50,000 matching grant to the Secular Student Alliance.

Hallowell dubbed Stiefel the “George Soros of Atheists” and noted the unique position this wealthy, full-time activist has found himself in after being given a 2010 audience with the White House to champion his cause. Hallowell considered the occasion remarkable, given it was the first time Atheists had ever been extended a White House invitation of this kind. In exploring the origins of Atheists’ new-found success, Beck said it would not be surprising if, upon further research, the “fingerprints” of SEIU or other labor unions would be found.

Hallowell, who attended the event and reported on it extensively for The Blaze, noted a stark difference between the attitude of the attendees and that of the event’s speakers. He observed that Richard Dawkins and the founder of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, in particular, could have been perceived as antagonistic and that neither one’s demeanor would have made outsiders feel welcome. While many of the guests were considered cordial, Hallowell previously reported on a contingent who held the general mindset that those who believe in God or practice any kind of religion are living in the 14th century.

Billed as “family friendly and inclusive,” Beck noted that the event sounded anything but.

Beck and Hallowell compared the new, official Atheist symbol and the original Anarchist symbols. Bear a resemblance?

Hallowell pointed out that while the attendance at Reason was less than Atheists were touting it was, there were at least 10,000 gathered at the National Mall, which is no small number.

For his part, Stiefel’s alleged goal is to bring a softer, more diplomatic facade to Atheism — a push which could bring the movement even greater success in garnering adherents.

Now, at 16% of the American population, Atheists feel they are poised to effect change in the halls of America’s institutions, actively lobbying congress on issues most important to them. One current push is to dismantle any protections in place that would prevent religious employers from covering the cost of contraception to its employees per Obamacare’s controversial mandate.

One wonders why the vast majority of outspoken Atheists aren’t content to operate within a “live and let live” framework, but rather proactively seek out opportunities to disparage or challenge their ideological opposites.

And while the Reason Rally claimed its intended purpose was “not about attacking Christianity,” Beck noted that a contingent are indeed “bigots.” At the end of the day, attendees and organizers of Reason said they hope to be the “AARP of Atheism” and it appears they plan to realize this goal by tackling a local, grassroots approach.

Both Beck and Hallowell astutely observed that the Reason Rally was much like a religious gathering, and that Atheism is, essentially, its own religion.

Beck also urged viewers to observe that President Obama is “a man who says one thing” and does something else and asked if it is a coincidence that Atheists are organizing now, or if they in fact received the “green light” from the president, a community organizer.

But as the Atheists’ gained momentum at their rally for “reason,” other radicals — this time those within the faith-community — have been on the offensive:

The “wildly anti-Semitic, anti-Israel” Jimmy Carter released his own Bible recently, positing that Jesus Christ never uttered a word about homosexuality and other pearls of Biblical advice. Beck said he’d “take a pass” on “the peanut guy’s” study bible. Carter, who Beck considers one of the worst president’s in American history, based his book on the many years he spent teaching Sunday school.

Delving deeper into the outlandish words and deeds of spiritual leaders, Carter’s Biblical interpretations come on the heels of liberal pastor Jim Wallis’ assertion that the U.S. is “not” a Christian nation and that American exceptionalism is “heresy.”

Following suit, President Obama’s pastor of 20 years (the man credited with converting the president to Christianity), Jeremiah Wright, is standing with Iran as he plans an anti-Israel march to Jerusalem on March 30. The event is slated to coincide with what the Palestinians dub “Land Day,” an annual holiday commemorating “those who fell” attempting to “preserve their land and identity” against Israel.

And now, despite the State Department’s warning that citizens not travel to Israel to attend Beck’s “Restoring Courage” event in Jerusalem last summer, the administration has remained silent on Reverend Wright’s march thus far.

It should also be noted that yet another BDS (boycott and divestment) push — this time at a longstanding Brooklyn food co-op, is seeking to boycott Israeli products in protest of what BDS-advocates call the the Israeli “oppression” and “occupation” of Palestinians. It seems worth noting that one rarely, if ever, hears calls to lead a boycott and divestment campaign against any number of countries that routinely commit atrocious human rights abuses.

Beck noted that all of the above are happening at precisely the same time Catholics have come under assault for standing their ground on the Obamacare contraception mandate. He believes when combined, the current data points to a disturbing pattern of secular-progressive ideology permeating the national landscape.

Is it a coincidence, Beck wondered, that Americans are now witnessing rabid “anti-Semite.. anti-Christian.. anti-White” Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhaninject himself into the national conversation as he calls for vigilante justice in the case of Trayvon Martin?

“Farrakhan is a “cancer eating away at our society” and “is anti-anything unless it’s Muslim or crazy,” Beck said.
But it is not just the Wallises, Wrights and Farrakhans stirring up trouble according to Beck. Revs. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are two others that have been added to what Beck calls the “toxic” stew of rabble rousers.

Just another part of Phase II of Political System X”:

Beck invoked a near-century-old book from the Chicago Theological Seminary that wrote religion must “become more modern” and thus, understand “the machine.” The book also suggested those who stand against religion, but stand for social justice, are unimpeachable. So much so in fact, that those who do so are considered more “god-like” and likely to meet Jesus than spiritual leaders who don’t practice social justice.

So, Beck reviewed, “bigoted” Atheists are attacking Christians and other faith-keepers, a former president is offering up his own bible, the current president disregards the core tenets of Judeo-Christianity and has sent nods of approval to Atheists, and his longtime Christian pastor is standing in solidarity with Iran and the Palestinians against Israel — which, ironically, is the birthplace of Christianity.

But that is only a small taste of what is occurring here domestically:

Thousands of miles away, Christians and Jews are under threat of suffering far greater consequences than simply losing some freedoms. Just as Coptic Christians in Egypt are being slaughtered in droves, now, the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia is calling on Islamic countries to demolish all churches currently standing.

Exacerbating the issue, the Muslim Brotherhood is heavily vested in the new Egyptian parliament and now seeks a presidential bid — despite vows from the halls of Washington to Tahrir Square that the Islamic militant group had no intention of becoming a “political” force. The Muslim Brotherhood is an Israel-hostile organization that will likely further the already-damaged relationship between the two countries that once shared a cold peace. All the while, Beck observed, the U.S. remains silent.

And right on cue, the U.K. has banned ads promoting a book on Northern Israel based on complaints the ad “misleadingly” featured images of Judea and Samaria, as well as the Golan Heights, as part of Israel.

The line is no longer between Republicans and Democrats, but rather between “progressive and non-progressive”:

Using all of the players discussed throughout this article, Beck used a circular chart to map out these progressive key players. Running the gamut from Farrakhan to Wallis, Sharpton to JPMorgan’s Jamie Dimon, and Atheists in between, Beck noted that all the figures are interconnected when viewed through the prism of Political System X.

“The world is being divided,” he said.

Because he believes each core component is interconnected, Beck also talked about the perils of vigilante justice as it can further Americans’ risk of becoming like those in the Islamic world.

“If you start going after people outside of the law then you become the kind of monster you despise.”

At its core, the subjects of Beck’s chart reveal “chaos and hatred” as each individual “is intent on stirring up trouble,” from Spike Lee to the Grand Mufti.

Beck also noted that each component isolates, destroys, encourages reckless habits and enforces negative stereotypes per Political System X and rhetorically asked why the president has not spoken out in condemnation of such events.

Invoking clips of Van Jones’ latest anti-Israeli message and a recent Occupy Wall Street spectacle in which donuts were hung from strings while protesters goaded police, chanting, “here piggie, piggie,” he also noted that the progressive society is degenerating to a greater degree than ever before.

In terms of what appears to be the liberal use profanity, Beck pointed out that from the White House’s recent guest, gangster-rapper Cee Lo, to Biden using the four-letter expletive, the Obama White House appears receptive to such profanity.

Beck told viewers that both they and God are “under attack.”

In closing, Beck announced that on May 17th, he will ask for a national day of fasting and prayer where Americans can consolidate their faith and efforts as they seek protection and guidance from God.

For some members of the New York Police Department, the ambush killing of two officers over the weekend roused memories of a far darker chapter in the department’s past, the 1970s, when violence on the streets and anger at the police erupted into the deliberate murder of some officers.
There were other similarities — public protests roiling the city and the nation; the police blaming politicians for fomenting antipolice sentiment; and city leaders scrambling to defuse a dangerous divide between law enforcers and the communities they serve.
The drug dealing and rampant crime that characterized that era have faded, but the shooting of Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos on Saturday shifted the Police Department into the kind of defensive pose more reminiscent of decades past.
Then, as now, officers were being told to take precautions against the risk of targeted attacks, even though the threat from the Brooklyn gunman, Ismaaiyl Brinsley, appeared to stem at least in part from a history of mental illness and recent expressions of despair.

Forty-six police officers were killed in the line of duty in the 1970s, and 41 more in the 1980s. Before Saturday, the last time an officer was killed in the line of duty was in 2011.
Some of the assassinations of police officers in the early 1970s were stoked by a militant strain of the black liberation movement, including the explosive killing of Officers Rocco Laurie and Gregory Foster in 1972.
Officer Foster, 22, of the Bronx, and Officer Laurie, 23, of Staten Island, who had fought together as Marines in Vietnam, were shot dead after walking out of a diner in the East Village just before 11 p.m. on Jan. 27, 1972. They had asked to be placed on patrol in the East Village because it was riddled with crime.
Killings of police officers have dwindled, and the city has sought to rub out the stain of drugs and violent crime, but people in the law enforcement community say the fatal shootings on Saturday ripped open old wounds.
“The drive to Bellevue Hospital, the chaos, and the sea of uniforms in and out,” Officer Laurie’s wife, Adelaide Laurie, recalled.

“Please don’t let it be that we are retrogressing to that horrible time in the ’70s,” Ms. Laurie said in an interview on Sunday. She added: “It’s the same idea. No one trusted the police; they were called pigs. I’m just kind of reliving that tragedy all over again.”
For many police officers who grew up in the aftermath of these killings — or had relatives who were on the police force at the time — the link to that harrowing past is both sentimental and real. Officer Ramos, killed on Saturday, once served as a school safety agent at Rocco Laurie School on Staten Island.
The Black Liberation Army also took credit for the fatal shooting of Officers Joseph A. Piagentini and Waverly M. Jones by two assailants outside the Colonial Park Houses in Harlem in 1971.
Police Commissioner William J. Bratton, speaking on NBC’s “Today” show on Monday, said the killing of the two officers reminded him of the department’s unease in the 1970s.

“My first 10 years were around this type of tension,” he said. “Who would’ve ever thought, dÃ©jÃ* vu all over again, that we’d be back where we were 40 some-odd years ago?”

Mr. Brinsley’s Instagram posting shortly before his death, in which he vowed to put “wings on pigs,” recalled a frequent refrain of the Black Panther Party, “Off the pigs,” in the late 1960s, a time when anti-establishment sentiment spilled into violence against the police. The latest killings, in contrast, stood out against a backdrop of historically low crime rates.
But then, as now, a sharpening sense of political polarization and anger among police officers toward the mayor threatened to turn even an isolated police killing into a flash point.
The Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association in recent days circulated a letter allowing officers to request that the mayor not attend their funerals in the event of a line-of-duty death, recalling the animosity toward Mayor John V. Lindsay after police killings in 1972.
Ms. Laurie said she made it known then that she wanted Mayor Lindsay to stay away from the funeral. He attended anyway, prompting scattered boos and calls from mourners that he should go home.
“The police had the same feeling that he wasn’t helping them, that he was against them,” Ms. Laurie said.

Mayor Lindsay had been on uneasy terms with the police after seeking to strengthen the Civilian Complaint Review Board. That gulf widened after another officer, Phillip Cardillo, was fatally shot inside a mosque in Harlem after being lured there by a 911 call. The mayor was accused of allowing political aspirations and his alliances with some black leaders to cloud the city’s handling of the case. He went on vacation instead of attending the funeral.
Vincent E. Henry, a former police officer who retired in 2002 as a Police Academy commander, said the fatal ambush on Saturday, coming in the midst of protests against police brutality that Mayor Bill de Blasio has declined to condemn, had similarly endangered the current mayor’s political standing among officers.
“This is de Blasio’s Cardillo moment,” Mr. Henry said. “This is his Cardillo moment.”
The volatile politics also recall the 1978 killings of two officers in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Norman Cerullo and Christie Masone, in what the police initially described as an ambush by two ex-convicts involved in the Attica prison uprising. One of the assailants was killed in the shootout. A second man, Cleveland Davis, wounded and arrested blocks away after crashing his car, was charged with murdering both officers, but eventually acquitted.
At the officers’ funerals, Mayor Edward I. Koch called for the passage of a bill reinstating the death penalty as a deterrent to police killings, a measure supported by the patrolmen’s union and opposed by the governor at the time, Hugh L. Carey. The political heat intensified when it emerged that Governor Carey had pardoned Mr. Davis in 1976 for charges related to the killing of a fellow Attica inmate, as part of an effort to “close the books on Attica” and to forestall charges against the police and guards for their actions at Attica.
Other bursts of violence were initially seen as politically driven attacks, but proved not to be. In 1973, after a young man carrying a .22-caliber revolver wounded several officers inside a precinct house in Manhattan before being killed in a fusillade of police bullets, the police indicated that the shooting had political motives. But detectives later described it as “the work of a very, very sick man.”
The police killings in the 1970s created a “siege mentality” among officers, Mr. Henry said. Officers began arriving at the station house four hours before work and leaving four hours after their tour in order to trail marked patrol cars with their personal cars, shotguns in hand, providing an additional layer of cover. Mr. Henry said police officers also began carrying private shotguns during that era.

As new details continue to emerge following the shooting deaths of two NYPD cops Saturday, it has been revealed that one of the victims, Officer Rafael Ramos, was a Christian who would have been officially commissioned as a lay chaplain on the very day he died.
Ramos, 40, who was killed alongside partner and fellow police officer Wenjian Liu, 32, viewed his law enforcement position as a form of ministry, according to the Christian Post.
New York State Chaplain Task Force president the Rev. Marcos Miranda told the outlet that Ramos had recently completed a 10-week program and was set to graduate Saturday.

“It was an honor to have [Officer Ramos]. He had just taken the 10-week course and was a faithful member of his local church, Christ Tabernacle,” Mirando told the Christian Post. “He was due to graduate this past Saturday, where we graduated 144 chaplains. Ramos would have been a lay leader and been endorsed by his denomination.”
The faith leader said that it was the officer’s kindness that he will remember most, revealing that Ramos had shared with him that he viewed his cop job as a form of ministry that allowed him to help those in need.
“He excelled. He never thought he could be a chaplain. He thought only clergy could,” Mirando told the Wall Street Journal. “So when he found the opportunity to train with us, he jumped on it. He saw himself doing full-time ministry after he retired from the NYPD.”
Ronnie Gonzalez, Ramos’ cousin, said that the fallen officer’s family has already forgiven gunman Ismaaiyl Brinsley, claiming that they “don’t believe in vengeance” and just want to forgive.
“He’s in the hands of God now,” Gonzalez told WPIX-TV.
Before becoming a cop, Ramos worked from 2009 until 2012 as a school safety officer at Staten Island’s Rocco Laurie School — named for an NYPD officer who was also assassinated in 1972.
Ramos also previously worked for Airborne Express/DHL for 14 years delivering packages, according to the New York Times.

Police departments shouldn’t feel under siege. The public just wants better policing.

On Saturday, Ismaaiyl Brinsley shot a former girlfriend in Baltimore. Hours later, in Brooklyn, New York, he ambushed and killed two police officers in their car and then killed himself. New York Mayor Bill de Blasio described the murders as “execution-style.” Police don’t have a motive for the shootings, but Brinsley had a long criminal record—he was arrested for robbery charges in Ohio in 2009 and served two years in prison for felony gun possession in Georgia—and had made anti-police messages on Instagram the day of the shooting.

These deaths come at a terrible time for New York City. Between the killing of Eric Garner in Staten Island and the shooting of Akai Gurley in Brooklyn, many residents are wary of the police. And their protests against police brutality have fueled a counter-movement from cops and their supporters, who see criticism as hostile and “anti-police,” and who have scorned officials who sympathize with the protesters. “Police officers feel like they are being thrown under the bus,” said Patrick Lynch, president of the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association, after de Blasio spoke about Garner in the context of his son, who is black. “Is my child safe, and not just from some of the painful realities of crime and violence in some of our neighborhoods,” said de Blasio, “but safe from the very people they want to have faith in as their protectors? That’s the reality.”

All of this was in the air during the New York City mayor’s Saturday evening press conference with Police Commissioner Bill Bratton, where he tried to ease tensions, despite a dramatic action from police at the event, who turned their backs when de Blasio spoke. The mayor called the killings a “particularly despicable act” that “tears at the very foundation of our society.” He called it an “attack on all of us.” “Our city is in mourning, our hearts are heavy,” he said. “We lost two good men who devoted their lives to protecting all of us.”

But for several politicians and police organizations, this call of solidarity wasn’t enough. “Our society stands safer because of the sacrifices officers make every day, but the hatred that has grown over the past few weeks in this country has gone unchecked by many elected leaders,” said the head of the New Jersey Policemen’s Benevolent Association in a statement on Facebook. “The blood of 2 executed police officers is on the hands of Mayor de Blasio,” tweeted the New York Sergeants Benevolent Association. Likewise, on Twitter, former New York Gov. George Pataki said he was “sickened by these barbaric acts, which sadly are a predictable outcome of divisive anti-cop rhetoric of #ericholder & #mayordeblasio.”

Lynch was even more inflammatory. “There is blood on many hands, from those that incited violence under the guise of protest to try to tear down what police officers do every day,” he said, addressing police outside the hospital where the slain officers were taken. “That blood on the hands starts on the steps of city hall in the office of the mayor.” In Baltimore, one lodge president in the Fraternal Order of Police gave a more expansive statement, blaming national officials for the violence. “Politicians and community leaders from President Obama, to Attorney General Holder, New York Mayor de Blasio, and Al Sharpton have, as the result of their lack of proper guidance, created the atmosphere of unnecessary hostility and peril that police officers now find added to the ordinary danger of their profession.”

And all of these sentiments were echoed by former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani. “We’ve had four months of propaganda starting with the president that everybody should hate the police,” said Giuliani during an appearance on Fox News on Sunday. “The protests are being embraced, the protests are being encouraged. The protests, even the ones that don’t lead to violence, a lot of them lead to violence, all of them lead to a conclusion. The police are bad, the police are racist. That is completely wrong.”

But these complaints aren’t true. Police officers aren’t under siege from hostile elected officials. At no point, for example, has de Blasio attacked the New York City Police Department. Instead, he’s called for improved policing, including better community relations and new training for “de-escalation” techniques. “Fundamental questions are being asked, and rightfully so,” he said at the beginning of the month, after the grand jury decision in the death of Eric Garner. “The way we go about policing has to change.”

See, here's the thing.

I have the utmost sympathy and respect for innocent cops. Assholes kicking in doors at 2am and tossing flash bangs in baby cribs after shooting the dog so as to make sure that the "evidence" doesn't get flushed and wind up doing it at the wrong house? Not so much. I've said it before and I'm sure i'll say it again...if you can flush it, it's not worth a no-knock warrant.

These fricking marxist prislamists need to ventilated. It's too bad the last one killed two guys before swallowing his handgun.

Oprah Winfrey, one of the wealthiest people in the world, is throwing the race card again.

During an interview with the BBC Friday, she not only said that President Obama is treated with disrespect because he’s black, but also that entire generations of racists are going to have to die for racism to end (video follows with transcript and commentary):

WILL GOMPERTZ, BBC: The issue of the civil rights movement, and the way that black people around the world are treated, particularly I suppose in, around the world…
OPRAH WINFREY: Around the world.
GOMPERTZ: Around the world. Look at place like Russia, it’s, you know…
WINFREY: Around the world.
GOMPERTZ: So is this, is this, I suppose from a movie point of view, what the movie and the messages hold and the other movies we were discussing, and “Scottsboro Boys,” are these historical comments or are we still looking at a contemporary issue?
WINFREY: Good question. Well phrased. Good job. It would be foolish to not recognize that we have evolved in that we’re not still facing the same kind of terrorism against black people en masse as was displayed with the Scottsboro boys. It’s gotten better. Are there still places where people are terrorized because of the color of their skin, because of the color of their black skin? Yes. But there are laws that have allowed us to progress beyond what we saw in the Scottsboro boys and beyond the even the prejudice we see in “The Butler.”

Notice that Winfrey added "color of their black skin." Why not just leave it as "color of their skin?"
Why do folks such as her only see racism through the prism of how blacks are treated? By looking at the problem so narrowly, doesn't it make matters worse?
We are by far the most diverse nation in the world containing more ethnic and religious groups than any other on the planet.
Likely each of them has at times rightly or wrongly felt mistreated for the color of their skin or their religious beliefs.
When we as a nation look at this problem more honestly and not just as it pertains to one group, racism will have a chance of being solved.
Unfortunately, Winfrey has another solution:

GOMPERTZ: Are you saying problem solved?

WINFREY: I’m saying problem not solved. I’m saying that, you know, that’s the beauty of a film like “The Butler,” and it’s the beauty of a film like “12 Years a Slave,” and it’s the beauty of what we’re seeing on stage with “Scottsboro Boys” is that it allows people to see where the root of the problem started. It allows people to see, “Oh, that’s where it all started, this is how far we’ve come, and now this is how much farther we need to go.” Of course problem is not solved. You know, as long as people can be judged by the color of their skin, problem’s not solved. As long as there are people who still, there’s a whole generation – I say this, you know, I said this, you know, for apartheid South Africa, I said this for my own, you know, community in the south - there are still generations of people, older people, who were born and bred and marinated in it, in that prejudice and racism, and they just have to die.

So in Winfrey's view, it's older white people that are the problem, and once they die, racism ends.
Yet three months ago, she said of the George Zimmerman verdict, "It's ridiculous to look at that case and not to think that race was involved."
Zimmerman's only 30 years old and is Hispanic.
It is patently absurd to suggest that racism is caused by old white people when racism and religious bigotry cut across all generations and ethnicities.
But folks such as Winfrey don't want to look at it that way, for they have a different agenda:

GOMPERTZ: Do you think, has it ever crossed your mind that some of the treatment of Obama and the challenges he’s faced and some of the reporting he’s received is because he’s an African-American, and if he wasn’t an African-American, if he was a white guy, those wouldn’t have happened, he wouldn’t have been treated in quite the same way, he wouldn’t have to deal with quite the same confrontations?

Some question, huh? You'd think Obama was the first president to ever have challenges and confrontations. Was Gompertz on another planet when George W. Bush was regularly being attacked by his opponents?
With the race card nicely placed on the tee, Winfrey predictably hit it a long way:

WINFREY: Has it ever crossed my mind? It’s crossed my mind probably as many times as it’s crossed your mind. Probably it’s crossed my mind more times than it’s crossed your mind. Just the level of disrespect. When the Senator yelled out, “You’re a liar.” Remember that? Yeah, I think that there is a level of disrespect for the office that occurs, and that occurs in some cases and maybe even many cases because he’s African-American.

What Winfrey conveniently ignores is that she endorsed and campaigned for Obama BECAUSE he was an African-American. He wouldn't have gotten her support or been elected if he wasn't.
More importantly, if he was just some white guy from Chicago that nobody had ever heard of, he never would have beaten Hillary Clinton in 2008.
How sad that she forgets that.

But that's not the saddest part about folks like Winfrey throwing the race card this way.

What's sadder is that as an African-American woman that has attained a level of success and notoriety greater than 99.99 percent of the people that have or ever will walk on this planet, she could be a positive role model concerning racism rather than helping to fuel it.

Why doesn't someone of Winfrey's obvious intellectual prowess understand that?

Imagine how much better it would have been for all Americans including blacks if she answered Gompertz's racially charged question this way:
Is some of the treatment of Obama because he's an African-American? Maybe some. But I think that's exaggerated. The President of the United States is the most powerful person on the planet receiving greater scrutiny than any other. As a result, he's challenged by people on both sides of the aisle, and that's a good thing because it acts to prevent him or her from becoming too powerful.

Unlike other nations, our President is not a king or dictator, and although many claim the treatment of Obama is harsher because he's black, I would say that for the most part, he isn't being treated any differently than George W. Bush before him or Bill Clinton before him. In fact, I would make the case that because he's black, he's been treated far better by most of the media than any President in my lifetime.

So let's not be so quick to throw the race card all because Obama has his critics. That comes with the territory, and if you don't have big enough shoulders to take the hits, you should have never campaigned for the job.

Imagine the headlines and the positive example Winfrey could have set by telling people the truth.

Is that just too difficult for her? Doesn't she know that every time she dishonestly throws the race card, she's undermining a solution?
Oh. That's right. Her solution is that generations of racists have to die to solve the problem.

Unfortunately, with folks like her out there fanning the fires of discontent, they're inculcating new generations with racist thoughts thereby making it necessary for A LOT of generations to die off before this problem ever gets solved.
How truly unfortunate for our nation.

“You want freedom? You’re gonna have to kill some crackers! You’re gonna have to kill some of their babies!”

Those were the words of Minister King Samir Shabazz, also known as Maurice Heath, the New Black Panther Party’s Philadelphia leader.

Shabazz is the same man the Obama administration Department of Justice refused to prosecute after he was filmed on Election Day 2008 with Jerry Jackson wearing paramilitary uniforms, carrying a nightstick and blocking a doorway to a polling location to intimidate voters.

The following YouTube video posted by Naked Emperor News shows his statements during a National Geographic special on the New Black Panthers:

“I hate white people – all of them! Every last iota of a cracker, I hate ‘em,” Shabazz shouts into a megaphone on a crowded sidewalk. “Through South Street with white, dirty, cracker whore [expletive] on our arms. And we call ourselves black men with African garb on.”

Then Shabazz spotted a black man embracing a white woman.

“What the hell is wrong with you, black man?” he shouted into his megaphone. “You [inaudible] with a white girl on your damn arm!
“You want freedom? You’re gonna have to kill some crackers! You’re gonna have to kill some of their babies!”

In a 2008 interview with the Philadelphia Inquirer, Sabazz said, “I’m about the total destruction of white people. I’m about the total liberation of black people. I hate white people. I hate my enemy. …”

National Geographic describes the New Black Panther Party as “a militant hate group headquartered in Washington, D.C., that seeks to redefine the black struggle for equality and demand liberation from what it sees as white supremacy.”

The party has marched on Independence Day, dragging American flags through the streets, trampling the flag on the ground and setting it on fire. The following video shows members of a New York chapter protesting celebration of Independence Day at an event called “4th of U-lie” on July 5, 2008. Members say the day is not a celebration of independence for blacks.

As WND reported, one poll watcher called police on Nov. 4, 2008, after he reportedly saw Shabazz brandishing a nightstick to threaten voters just 15 feet outside a Philadelphia polling location. Shabazz stood in front of the building with Jackson.

“As I walked up, they closed ranks, next to each other,” the witness told Fox News at the time. “So I walked directly in between them, went inside and found the poll watchers. They said they’d been here for about an hour. And they told us not to come outside because a black man is going to win this election no matter what.”

He said the man with a nightstick told him, “‘We’re tired of white supremacy,’ and he starts tapping the nightstick in his hand. At which point I said, ‘OK, we’re not going to get in a fistfight right here,’ and I called the police.”

According to various witnesses, the men also hurled racial epithets such as “white devil” and “cracker” and told voters they should prepare to be “ruled by the black man.” One person said the men called a Republican poll worker a “race traitor” and told him there would be “hell to pay.”

Career Department of Justice attorneys headed by voting-section chief Chris Coates filed a case under Section 11(b) of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 against four defendants, accused the men of attempting to engage in, and engaging in, both voter intimidation and intimidation of individuals aiding voters.

The original Department of Justice complaint named Shabazz, Jackson and two other defendants: the New Black Panther Party and its chairman, Malik Zulu Shabazz, who planned deployment of 300 members on Election Day.

A federal judge ordered default judgments against the New Black Panthers after party members refused to appear in court. The DOJ trial team had won its case.

Even though DOJ lawyers had won, the Obama administration suddenly ordered it dropped – against advice of prosecutors who brought the case.
In April, the New Black Panther Party released a statement blaming Republicans, “tea-party racists” and “right-wing circles” for complaining and harassing the organization.

“Our only connection to President Obama is the common color of our skin,” it states. “The same dog that bites President Obama bites us too. So I say, if you were wise, you would leave Obama alone as well because he is your last chance to save your country. You are mad because a black man has been elected to the presidency, and that affronts your oversized ego.”

Christian Adams, a former DOJ attorney who quit his job after over the Obama administration’s refusal to prosecute the Panthers, claims the administration has ordered the DOJ not to pursue voting-rights cases against black people. He said the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, which is investigating the dismissal, subpoenaed him and Coates, but their DOJ superiors ordered them not to testify – a violation of federal law.

“The case was dismissed on May 15, [2009],” Adams told Fox News. “All the charges were dropped against three of the defendants and the final order against one of the defendants was a timid restraint.”

Only one of four defendants, Samir Shabazz, faced punishment: a temporary injunction against appearing at Philadelphia polls with a weapon. The department stopped at the injunction and didn’t call for criminal penalties, monetary damages or other civil penalties.

“We were ordered to dismiss the case,” Adams said. “I mean, we were told drop the charges against the New Black Panther Party.”

The Department of Justice said it made a decision based on the evidence that the case could not go forward.

As WND reported, the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights has suggested it is now expanding its review of claims that the DOJ implemented a ban on prosecuting defendants who are black.

At a hearing in Washington this week, Adams testified that staffers throughout the department have subscribed for years to the notion that the DOJ’s primary responsibility is to protect the voting rights of minority voters, not whites. He added that recent Obama administration DOJ appointees have reinforced this notion by making such racial discrimination a formal departmental policy.

According to Adams, Deputy Assistant Attorney General Julie Fernandez, an Obama appointee at the top of the department, announced at a policy meeting that “the voting section will not bring any other cases against blacks and other minorities.”

Meanwhile, Pajamas Media reports that three more former DOJ officials are stepping forward to support Adams’ testimony. According to the report, the former employees have “expressed a willingness to go on record regarding Adams’ professionalism, excellent performance and outstanding record of enforcing the law without bias.”

Pajamas Media adds, “Additionally, they would like to corroborate Adams’ statements about the DOJ” and even offer their own accounts of purported DOJ hostility to “race-neutral law enforcement.”

Asheesh Agarwal, former deputy assistant attorney general in the Civil Rights Division, worked with Adams on several cases. He called Adams a “model attorney who vigorously enforced federal voting-rights laws on behalf of all voters, without respect to race or ideology.”

Mark Corallo, former DOJ director of public affairs, added: “I am not surprised that the Department is attacking J. Christian Adams. The Civil Rights Division attorneys have no interest in the rule of law as written and passed by Congress – the New Black Panther case is glaring proof that the Division has an agenda. If Congress was truly interested in oversight, there would be hearings on this case and others.”

Finally, Robert Driscoll, former deputy assistant attorney general who knew Adams, told Pajamas Media:

If this is indeed the view of senior career DOJ staff – that after reviewing the facts of the New Black Panther case and the video, current laws against voter intimidation provide no ability for the DOJ to properly bring an action against the New Black Panther members shown on video and mentioned in the lawsuit — then Congress needs to have a conversation with Attorney General Holder about whether the problem lies with the Voting Rights Act itself, or with those whose job it is to enforce it.

Report: Protesters Yell at NYPD at Slain Officer Memorial

CNN Correspondent Sara Ganim reported that a small group of protesters were yelling at police officers who had gathered to pay their respects at a memorial to slain NYPD officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos on Monday.

While Ganim said that most of the people who had showed up were paying their respects to the officers, she added “I do, just in full disclosure, want to say that in the last couple of minutes, for the first time today, we’ve seen protesters come out here and start yelling at groups of police who are mourning their slain police officers.”

Ganim continued “it’s just a few of them, Suzanne, and like I said, just in the last five minutes, and they’re quite frankly yelling at a group of police officers who are standing here silently, just looking at the memorial of candles and flowers and posters, and they’re yelling similar rhetoric that we’ve been hearing over the last couple of weeks related to the shooting of — the chokehold death of Eric Garner and the shooting of Michael Brown in Missouri.”

She also reported that people she had talked to earlier believed that while conversations on police brutality needed to take place, they shouldn’t happen right after the deaths of two officers and that criticizing Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) was going to make the divisions in the city worse.

Pittsburgh Police Increase Patrols In Response To Threats

As New York City police prepare to bury two of their own, police in Pittsburgh are taking extra steps to keep our officers safe.

On Sunday night, Channel 11 News learned that the Pittsburgh police department is on a heightened state of alert following alleged threats.

Special Agent Greg Heeb, of the FBI in Pittsburgh, said, “We received some information. Very, very general information, but it was something we felt, given the current threat environment, that we needed to push out to our partners in state and local law enforcement.”

Pittsburgh police spokesperson Sonya Toler told Channel 11’s Dave Bondy that in response to a potential threat made to police, officers will be doubling up on patrols.

"Traffic stops, calls of a suspicious nature, high priority calls, we are asking officers to wait for backup before responding to those calls,” said Assistant Police Chief Maurita Bryant.

An alert obtained by Channel 11 News indicated that a source received information concerning unspecified threats to kill law enforcement officials and Caucasian civilians. The alert also said the location for the threats is unknown, but they appeared to have direct access to violent criminal enterprises in the Pittsburgh region.

"The families of officers throughout the city are upset. They are nervous and they’re fearful for the safety of their loved ones,” Bryant said.

Bryant said this is an extremely stressful time for officers. She’s asking everyone to put a blue light in their window to show their support.

“It kind of lets officers know that we are thinking about you and care about you. Everyone seems like the community is against the police, but there are so many people that love our officers,” Bryant said.

Toler also said teaming up officers is not uncommon when potential threats are made.

Pittsburgh is not the only city that has stepped up its alert status. Several other cities, including Cleveland, are monitoring potential threats.

It’s unclear how long the heightened sense of alert will be in place, as the credibility of the threats has not been determined.

“At this point it’s tough to say,” said Heeb. “We simply took the information that we received and we passed that out to our partners.”

The NYPD set up SWAT teams at two Bedford-Stuyvesant police precincts Tuesday night — after a confidential informant told cops about overhearing a gang plot to “shoot it out” at the station houses.

Four Emergency Services Unit officers, outfitted with helmets and assault weapons, were stationed at the 79th precinct. Another two were at the 81st.

The beefed up security was prompted by a confidential informant, who told cops of overhearing a member of the Baltimore-based Black Guerrilla Family talking with fellow gang members about plans to “shoot it out with police” at the two precincts, law enforcement sources told The Post.

The gang member served three years in jail for robbery and attempted murder.

Officials differed in their characterizations of the seriousness of the alleged threat.

A senior police official conceded to The Post that, “We’re investigating that threat, but at this time, “It does not appear to be credible.”

“I’m told it’s credible,” Ed Mullins President Sergeants Benevolent Association countered of the threat. “We’ve got emergency service personnel providing additional security outside of precincts. It’s credible.”

This is the second alleged threat against cops this month that comes from the Black Guerrilla Family.

On Dec. 7 officers were urged to wear their bullet-proof vests and pack extra ammo because of a “verified” threat that they are being targeted by the same gang.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — At least two bomb threats were called into NYPD precincts in New York City Tuesday, sources said.
The threats were called into the 75th Precinct in East New York and 104th Precinct in Queens, sources told CBS2.
Both buildings were swept by the bomb squad and cleared, sources said.
While police investigate the origin of the threats, security has been stepped up at all station houses following the fatal shooting of on-duty NYPD officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu on Saturday.
Earlier Tuesday, Mayor Bill de Blasio observed a moment of silence for the fallen officers at City Hall at 2:47 p.m. — the time Liu and Ramos were killed.
De Blasio has called for a moratorium on protests and political rhetoric surrounding the Eric Garner and Michael Brown grand jury cases in the wake of the officer deaths.
But some protesters took to the streets Tuesday night anyway, chanting “How do you spell murderers? NYPD!” and “Indict, convict, send those killer cops to jail. The whole damn system is guilty as hell,” CBS2’s Tony Aiello reported.
It remains unclear if the bomb threats have any connection to the protests over the Garner case.
