    Default Fred Thompson

Fred Thompson is going to run for the Republican nomination. Looks like a July 4th announcment is in the works. And he's already got a $50 million bank.

Now it gets interesting. McCain is dead meat, Ruddy has a real conservative opponent, and the rest are probably just holding their shaking heads in their hands.

Perhaps most significant of all - Republican Evangelicals absolutely love Fred Thompson. This electoral group has been critical in the 2000 and 2004 Presidential Elections.

Then they have not done their homework and looked at Hunter, he has all that is needed, just the fact that he is not well know.

    Falcon,

Actually that is not the case.

Many evangelical leaders have looked closely at Duncan Hunter's candidacy and "where I stand" platform. Hunter is very highly rated - a lifetime rating just single-digit percentage points behind that of Tom Tancredo. However, neither are seen as the most Reganesque candidate to put forward. Fred Thompson is and has been seen as such a candidate since the primary process began.

Make no mistake, the Ronald Reagan-Conservative core of the Republican party stands squarely behind Fred Thompson - in depth. He's not yet an announced candidate, but they are there nevertheless. Once Fred Thompson officially announces you will see this base energize like nothing seen since the Gipper ran his last election campaign.

Fred Thompson scares the Left more than anyone else out there in the Conservative right field.

    Hi All,

I love this site and have been reading it for some time, but have not posted until now. I've been able to learn a great deal though, so thankyou!

This is fabulous news about Thompson. I live in Duncan Hunters district and have been supporting his candidacy, but it just looks like he's not able to advance much. I'll take that Thompson/Hunter ticket though!

Bye bye John McCain. Fred is about to knock you out of the race for good. Thankyou God.

    T.L.,

Glad you've posted; please post again and often.

If Duncan is not tagged as Thompson's VP I'd be just a little surprised.

Maybe SECDEF in a Thompson Administration? He's got all the credentials for that job as well I think.

T.L. I also live in his district and have know him for the past 12 years, I guess knowing him and working on his election teams I see it a bit different. But a Thompson/Hunter ticket is not a bad idea.

Oh, I'd definitly love to see Hunter in a SECDEF position. At this point, I see a need for a conservative "dream team" to be established - and the sooner the better.

Too many of the other candidates lack that one thing that I'm looking for in a President these days and that is : GRIT. Thompson and Hunter both have this quality. Pit them against the Socialist Hillary or Obama and Edwards, the metrosexual's, and we'll see a nice fired up conservative base come out in droves.

We've just got to secure this damned border down here and I know Hunter understands this best of all. Well, this is why I'm here in Santee though. It's one of the few places in the San Diego area where you can actually find a Home Depot that you can shop at without a bunch of illegals attacking you, or at least making rude comments to you (I am a woman) in the parking lot.

I'll try and post more, Sean. This is one of the more interesting sites I read and, as I said, I've learned a lot here. Crazy world we live in, it's best to keep up on things. I know there are bad things that have gone on here in San Diego and I worry. I already was witness to three Muslim women filming the La Jolla Financial Building one day. As IF that's some sort of lovely landmark.

    Thompson/Hunter . Yep, that'll do it.

To be honest I couldn't care less about Thompson's religous bearing, (No offense as you know Sean), but I absolutely adore his political views and policy leanings. I watched him on Fox News and he was spot on about the public being sick and tired of what the two parties currently have to offer us in general. Any man willing to admit that the PEOPLE still run this show these days is my first choice. If he runs I'll vote for him.

    Brian,

And to be prefectly honest as well, I said nothing about Fred Thompson's personal "religious bearing".

I too could care less about Fred Thompson's personal religious convictions.

What I did say is that Republican Evangelicals love him (due to his Conservative positions). Evangelical Christians are a key base in the American electorate and have been singled out in recent elections as a key part of the American electorate.

    See...

I know some of you are partial to Duncan Hunter but I'm rather leaning towards Mitt Romney as VP if Thompson's numbers take a dramatic upswing. He was my second choice behind Thompson anyway and I think he could give us a solid base for when Thompson's time is done.

Actually I didn't get to see the debates and hadn't seen your response. Had I known about the AWB he mentioned I would not have considered him. But with that said I still think Hunter would be lower on my list. Instead I'd like to see Tancredo as VP but I doubt now he'd be accepted since they're finally closing in on the immigration reform bill and that was the major platform ole Tom had.

Romney as VP would still give us the best chance of keeping the presidency conservative but I guess if they can find someone with high enough numbers I'd consider it. (like I make the decisions on that. lol)

My main concern is keeping this current batch of Dems out of office until they pass from old age. Our main problem this election is that our current VP would never be voted in as President so we don't have the headstart we'd normally have on such an election. I'm hoping we do better this next time on a VP selection. The Quaile's, and Cheney's are not good choices IMO for carrying the elections after the Prez leaves office. Our next VP needs to be high in the polls to start with I believe. That basically leaves Romney, McCain, and Guliani if Thompson gets the nod. If he doesn't then I hope whomever does choses Thompson as his VP.

Fred has the sheer numbers and critical support - without yet being a declared candidate. These numbers are unprecidented in modern American political history, even back to Reagan's landslide election. I kid you not, yet I cannot reveal the source of this data at this time, I won't steal anothers research thunder.

Fred is going to run, and as I stated before about the base support he'll immediately garner, this will be something extraordinary to behold and be a witness to. If only world events allow us to arrive at November 2008 in one piece.

Fred will win the Presidency too, unless the Dems find someone better than Hillary.

He's going to have the Repbulican nomination hands down.

Well, I've only watched the first hour of the debate - had to record the rest - will get to it later.

McCain about made me puke: 'You wanted us to build an immigration reform bill - we only did what you asked.'

Every time he answered a question, he kept trying to sell that freaking bill.

    Sheesh...

Fred Thompson - all the way to the Presidency.

Sorry guys, I didn't go with Hunter, and I won't vote for McCain. He might be a war hero, and a former POW, but, but that doesn't mean he has what it takes to be President either.

Dems are out. Won't vote for any of them.

Juliani is a Democrat trying to hide in the middle of Republicans.

Tommy Thompson... naw, I just don't like him at all.

If Thompson runs, and he will, I'll be working for him in Colorado.

And, I have been holding out for better. I think he is the man to vote for.
