    Question Daylight Savings Time

In my youth I never really minded Daylight Savings Time. In fact I looked forward to it in my Rock-N-Roll daze. Either got to play an hour longer, or only had to play 3 sets on the reverse.

But alas, time, as it has so many other things has destroyed another simple pleasure of life.

From my view here in Mid-Mo, I guess I don't appreciate any noticable "savings" from the time change. After all, does anyone really know what time it is? If it were up to me I would stay with good old Standard time.

    Does anyone realize any "savings"?

I suppose if you golf it's great. Other than that I don't see any need from the perspective of an adult. Backyard BBQ maybe? Don't know. Personally I don't have much need for DST... Making it even earlier in the year is non-sense in my opinion. Others though may get some real use out of it. /shrug

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.

It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.

I wish we'd do away with it. I just don't see the point or purpose to it anymore in modern life. All it does for me is throw my internal clock off for a week 2x a year.

A lot of people want to get rid of it. It was a stupid idea when they started it, and it's a stupid idea now.

Like Brian said, I think a little extra daylight to BBQ in is about it.

I suppose I also do like the extra hour of sleep when that comes around.

    Other than that, meh...

Yeah, what the hell is wrong with staying up an hour later if you want to have a little extra fun? I do it all the time, daylight savings time or NOT.
