Reality Check For Sleeping America - Americas' Home Front Is At War And Being Invaded From Mexico!

News Type: Event — Sun Jul 18, 2010 4:23 PM EDT

By Gunnery Sergeant Bob Pinkstaff USMC Retired

Read the following message very carefully! The news you won't see on TV, hear on the radio or read in the so called news paper!

REALITY CHECK FOR SLEEPING AMERICA - AMERICAS' HOME FRONT IS AT WAR AND BEING INVADED!!

    COALITION OF PATRIOTS,

BE ADVISED ... Always remember, never forget ...

This "ILLEGAL INVADER" invasion fight to defend Christianity/Judaism, the U.S. Constitution, the United States of America and our hard fought for freedoms were brought on by the evil muslim communist USURPER, barack hussein obama, the Washington D.C. Mafia, the 110th/111th congresses and the NWO!

The useless, traitorous U.S. 111th Congress like THEIR prez, the evil muslim communist USURPER, barack hussein obama, have allowed the Arizona, all border states and the entire United States of America to be attacked, invaded and is continually under invasion from mexico by mexican "ILLEGAL INVADERS" and mexican drug smugglers!

Kansas has the mexican "ILLEGAL INVADER" invasion problem too, especially the complacent & sleeping western Kansas residents of towns with a population of 1500 or more (Wichita, Kingman, Dodge City, Liberal, Garden City, Greensburg, Goodland etc).

Having said that, the only solution to this "ILLEGAL INVADER" invasion is to immediately authorize the use of deadly force (live ammo), ordering all "ILLEGAL INVADER" line crossers to be "shot/killed" on sight, no exceptions! Leave the "ILLEGAL INVADER" bodies, dead or alive, where they fall! These bodies will serve as an example of what happens to any and all "ILLEGAL INVADERS" crossing into the United States Illegally! Not to worry about the bodies left on the desert floor, the desert/animals will keep it clean!

Arizona and the entire United States of America is at war with the "ILLEGAL INVADERS" & DOPE SMUGGLERS" from Mexico and around the world! We Freedom Fighting Patriots must treat this as a WARTIME situation, "SHOOT FIRST, SHOOT LAST AND AND DON'T ASK QUESTIONS" if we are to win this war on our southern border! Patting these mexican basta*ds on the a*s, giving them food, drink & first aid won't cut it!

I will gladly come "ARMED" to volunteer to help the "Great State of Arizona" and the "Coalition of Patriots 1776" in this fight against the "ILLEGAL INVADER" invasion from mexico and the New World Order (NWO).

HOW AMERICA AND THE WEST WAS WON ...

Arizona could very well be the catalyst (the first shot fired) to begin the re-taking of the U.S. Constitution, the United States of America and what we stand for!!! If so ... So be it, we will fight!!

    BE ADVISED ...

The unaltered U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the land, our land, the United States of America! Just as our Founding Fathers did, we freedom loving American Citizens and Patriots must and will fight to the death, if need be, to support and defend this most costly document!

From my friend and fellow warrior
Introducing G-Pal And The Arizona Border Operation, Summer 2010
Finally!! A true Conservative’s and gun owner’s alternative to PayPal: G-Pal. And yes, that “G” is for gun, baby. G-Pal just opened their doors for business a few months ago, and you can use their service to purchase firearms, ammo, and other gun-related materials, as well as using it as a standard merchant and consumer tool the way you use PayPal for the same.

From now on, all Pat Dollard.com merchandising and operations financing will be done through G-Pal. Whether you intend to use it on this site or not, I encourage each and every one of you to open an account (takes a couple minutes) and throw your business to these fine gentlemen, and take it away from the Leftist machine of PayPal.

Pat Dollard and I are spearheading a summer border operation in Arizona. Much of the operation needs to remain confidential, but a component of it is the interdiction of narco-insurgents and illegal aliens, in tandem with other citizen’s groups and law enforcement.

Another component of it will be the reporting and publicizing of our activities, and the activities of others, during the long, hot weeks ahead.

I’m going to be very straightforward and plain-spoken about this: what we’re doing is serious, dangerous, and expensive. We need your help. Whatever you can do, in whatever amount (and if not money, then prayers) is greatly appreciated, and greatly needed.

Also, if you live in Arizona and would like to volunteer your services, or can get here to do the same, please send me an email via the contact button at the top of this and every page. If you would like to donate any ammo, weapons, or gear, please do the same, and specify.

    Thank you.

Make a donation today to help finance Pat Dollard and Mark Harvey’s Summer 2010 Arizona Border Operation.

For larger donations, or if you simply prefer to use snail mail, make your check or money order payable to CMSU, LLC, and send it to:

    NATIONAL ALERT: Tuesday , July 13, 2010
    Incoming Request from M.FREEBYRD

IMMEDIATE CALL FOR ACTION BY ARIZONA CITIZENS MILITIA COMMANDER

ARIZONA MILITIA UNITS ARE TAKING FIRE AND UNDER ATTACK BY MEXICAN CARTEL

MEMBERS............THIS IS NOT A FALSE ALARM.........ARIZONA COMMANDER HAS CONFIRMED AND IS CALLING OUT TO ALL PATRIOTS FOR HELP.

WE NEED IMMEDIATE SIT REP REPORTS FROM THE STATE OF ARIZONA

    ***********************************************

Texasmobfather: I just got off the phone with Hummer, our Pima County Commander, at

1315 hours, 13 Jul 2010, here is his SITREP:

    0545 hours MST - 13 Jul 2010 - approx. 7 miles west of Ruby, AZ -

Six enemy, in uniform, carrying AK and SKS rifles - enemy were engaged by ACM forces as they tried to cross the international fence - two enemy KIA confirmed, unknown number of enemy WIA, no friendly casualties.

Hummer now has his guys "hunkered down" until after dark, when they will exfil the area. He has not requested additional troops at this time.

Tell everyone to sharpen their knives, but don't start heading to Pima County just yet. This was a small unit action, nothing more.

The ACM remains at "RIBBON" status, our second highest level of alert. Since we only have three levels, and we have been on that level since 22 June 2010, there is reason to be alert, but not to
    Be alarmed.

Mobilization for our Fall mission continues, but anyone who wants to "mount up and head to the sound of the gunfire" ahead of that may contact me directly and we will see what we can arrange. We cannot offer them a place to stay other than out in the desert, and that has its own spectacular charm right about now. ••

    Prayers will be greatly appreciated,

    "Hammerdown"

OK, guys, here is the latest.

As you probably know by now, ACM forces engaged the enemy on the Arizona borer at approximately 0545 hours Tuesday 13 July 2010.

Six enemy, in uniform, carrying AK and SKS rifles. Two enemy KIA were confirmed. The rest fled, carrying an unknown number of WIA. There were no friendly casualties.

After that action, our Pima County Commander had his guys "hunkered down" until after dark, when they then left the area.

Since that first report, he has reported to me that he and his boys were able to successfully exfil that night, and are all home safe.

Tell everyone to sharpen their knives, but don't start heading to Pima County just yet. This was a small unit action, nothing more. We are still going to the border in force this Fall for Operation Defiant Sentinel.

As a result of this latest action, however, we can expect the droppings to impact the oscillating ventilator in short order.

The Zetas had already let it be known that they were going to start indiscriminately killing any Americans that they found in the desert. Our Pima County Commander heard about that and put some Zetas in the dirt first. I don't expect that the Zetas will be too terribly happy about that.

Hang onto your butts, ya'll, its about to start getting interesting.

    AMID THE GUNS BELOW ...
In Flanders fields the poppies blow

That mark our place; and in the sky

Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow

Guard troops to head to US border states Aug 1

WASHINGTON — Federal officials say National Guard troops will begin heading for the southwestern U.S. border Aug. 1 to help secure it.

The troops will be trained and fully deployed by September and should be on the border for a year. They will be stationed in Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas.

The 1,200 Guard troops are being deployed as drug-related violence continues in Mexico. Several people were killed during the weekend in Mexico in a car bombing and a separate massacre at a private party.

Officials say the U.S. side of the border is more secure and has more resources than ever.

Guard troops will help U.S. Border Patrol agents keep a lookout for smugglers and illegal border crossings.

They also will help in investigations and intelligence gathering.

Here is the latest update from the Arizona Citizen Militia (ACM) on the Border conditions from "Hammerdown": ACM Border Update 7-18-10.mp3

"The Zeta Commanders have openly declared they're now targeting and will indiscriminately kill any Americans found along the US Border.

This same Zeta Commander also just stated the Drug Cartel will start employing road side bombs and anti-personal mines inside the borders of the United States against American citizens in the deserts of Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas."

This is all scary. With big Al de california y now de feds sending Nat guard troops, it becomes apparent there's a huge op in the making. I reckon zeta & league have better intel than Janet nap, the big "O" and the Mex feds.

The drug gangs have strategy, mission, goals & incentive. So do the Hizzies, and their hama etc cousins. It looks like a bloody mess is brewing. I don't reckon big al, big 0, janet napo, and the mex nats can coordinate diddlysquat to ameliorate the situation.

This requires prayer. Nothing is impossible with God. This is the "border-trap" war (barf) w/ 7 immortal devil gods at the trigger under the guide of communism... addiction/greed/abortion/politics/national disharmony/islam/santamuerte

Gunbattles paralyze Mexican city across from Texas

    2 hrs 48 mins ago

NUEVO LAREDO, Mexico – Late-night gunbattles with gangs who forced citizens from their cars and used the vehicles to block streets paralyzed a border city, sound of gunfire alarmed Texans on the U.S. side of the Rio Grande.

The Nuevo Laredo city government posted messages on Facebook warning citizens to stay indoors as the battles erupted at several intersections in the city across from Laredo, Texas.

Frightened people on the U.S. side of the border called emergency dispatchers after hearing the gunfire, Laredo police spokesman Joe Baeza said Thursday. But he said there was no spillover violence.
"We were getting reports from people who live on the river's edge that they could hear gunfire and explosions from the Mexico side," Baeza said.

"We didn't have any incidents on the American side. It's hard for people to understand who don't live here," he added. "They're not Vikings, they're not going to invade us, it doesn't work that way."

Nuevo Laredo city officials said they could not immediately confirm witness reports that several gunmen were killed.

Gangs used stolen cars and buses to block several main avenues in the city across from Laredo, Texas. Several residents called local newspapers to report thefts.

"For your security, stay in your homes until the alert has passed," the city government wrote on Facebook.

When the violence subsided, the government urged citizens to come forward and reclaim their stolen vehicles.

Nuevo Laredo is among several northern cities under siege from a turf battle between the Gulf cartel and its former enforcers, the Zetas gang of hit men. Violence has surged along the northeastern border with the United States since the two gangs split earlier this year.

Gangs have frequently blocked streets in the middle of the cities to thwart soldiers coming to the aid of colleagues under fire.

In the northern state of Chihuahua, a banner appeared on a bridge threatening violence against "innocents" unless the state government fires its chief of police intelligence, Fernando Ornelas, the Diario de Juarez newspaper reported Thursday.

The banner appeared in the state capital, also called Chihuahua.
Last week, drug gangs introduced a new threat to Mexico's drug war, detonating their first successful car bomb. The attack killed a federal police officer and two others in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua's largest city.

Drug cartels are growing increasingly violent, and the deaths and brutality is escalating. This video examines information and photos from actual crime scenes of cartel related violence. Our border is a war zone, and cartels fight for control over smuggling routes (called corridors).

As of May 2010, at least 22,700 drug related murders have been reported in Mexico in a little over 3 years. The U.S. no longer controls many of these areas along the border. Sheriff Paul Babeu, Pinal County, AZ, is on record saying he has no control of areas in his county, 80 miles north of the Mexico border.

Federal land designations have a significant impact on the ability of the Border Patrol to effectively control crime, due to the numerous restrictions imposed, such as no use of motorized vehicles and no mechanized equipment.

Drug cartels understand the severe restrictions on Border Patrol and law enforcement, and it makes these areas havens for criminal activity. Until the U.S. government chooses to secure our borders, we can expect this kind of violence to continue to escalate, and eventually become commonplace in the United States.

State Department Restricts diplomat travel in Mexico, warns U.S. Citizens

    FoxNews.com
    Posted: 07/23/2010 07:56:28 AM MDT

As cartel-fueled violence escalates in Mexico, the State Department has issued an extensive travel advisory warning U.S. citizens to exercise "extreme caution" in the northern part of the country and informing diplomats and their families that certain cross-border travel has been banned.

The eight-page advisory released last week outlined a host of dangers for U.S. travelers and residents in Mexico -- firefights, carjackings, kidnappings and more. The State Department said that as of last Thursday, mission employees and their families for the most part are forbidden from driving across the U.S.-Mexico border en route to or from any post inside Mexico.

The State Department said the restrictions were imposed out of concern for "road safety" along the border, where travelers have been targeted for robbery, "followed and harassed" and "caught in incidents of gunfire between criminals and Mexican law enforcement." The State Department said drug gangs are also setting up roadblocks to prevent the military and law enforcement from responding.

Mexico Drug War Spills into U.S.

The drug conflict in Mexico has been growing for years into a full-scale guerilla war, and now it has spilled into Texas. There are contradictory reports that the Los Zetas drug gang has taken over [1] at least two ranches near Laredo, Texas, forcing law enforcement to ask for federal intervention. The drug lords have become increasingly brutal and effective, have ties to foreign terrorist groups and have even set off a car bomb. As the U.S. fights two campaigns overseas, a lack of border security is permitting an insurgency south of the border to threaten us at home.

On July 16, the U.S. Consulate in Nuevo Lavedo in Mexico issued a
warning [2] that there were “credible reports of widespread violence occurring now between narcotics trafficking organizations and the Mexican army in Nuevo Lavedo.” The Zetas, which have hired former military personnel including special forces, blocked off roads and threw grenades. All Americans in the area were told to stay inside.

The area has become a battlefield between the Gulf cartel and the Zetas. The intense fighting
forced [3] up to 90 businesses to close their doors out of fear for their safety. Around the same time, eight drug gang members died in a firefight [4] between 60 criminals and 100 soldiers in the state of Chihuahua which “virtually shut down” a border city.

Hordes of blogs then began reporting that two ranches near Laredo, Texas had been seized. Examiner.com
said [1] that two anonymous sources at the Laredo Police Department confirmed the story and said a news blackout was being imposed. Last May, the FBI http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/6432122.html[5] that the Los Zetas had obtained a ranch in Texas to train its operatives in attacking its U.S.-based rivals. However, the Loredo Police Department is denying [6] the story.

This follows a dramatic escalation in the drug war when drug cartels
used [7] a car bomb for the first time in Ciudad Juarez. The bomb was so sophisticated that it was compared to the professionalism of Hezbollah. The attack was carried out by shooting a police officer and then alerting the authorities so that paramedics and law enforcement would arrive. The device was then detonated, killing four people.

Rep. Sue Myrick issued a prescient warning shortly before the attack. She called on the Department of Homeland Security to form a task force to investigate Hezbollah’s presence in Mexico after one of the terrorist group’s cells in Tijuana was
    broken up. [8]

“[A] high-ranking Mexican Army officer, who asked not to be named for security reasons, states they believe Hezbollah may be training the Mexican drug cartels’ enforcers in the art of bomb making. This might lead to Israel-like car bombings of Mexican/USA border personnel or National Guard units in the border regions,”
    she wrote. [9]

Less than a month later, her fear became true. The “Hezbollah-like” sophistication of the car bomb is shocking, but it should not be surprising. Experts have warned of such an alliance for years. In an
article [10] last month, the drug gangs’ ties to terrorist groups were explored in detail. The terrorist group named the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, often referred to as the FARC, is in business with the cartels. Michael Braun, a former Drug Enforcement Agency chief of operations, said [11] that Hezbollah was using “the same criminal weapons smugglers, document traffickers and transportation experts as the drug cartels.” Humberto Fontova has also reported [12] on the cartels’ ties to Cuban officials.

Over 25,000 people have died in Mexico’s drug war since the strife erupted into a war three and a half years ago, with the number of casualties increasing each year. The death toll in Ciudad Juarez has already
surpassed [13] the entire number for last year. The city now has more murders [14] than Baghdad. Recently in Monterrey, a mass grave of over 50 people was discovered. [15]

“The Mexican drug war is evolving into an open insurrection. The cartels are purchasing high-powered weapons all over the world. The edge in weaponry is shifting towards the cartels.” Larry Martines, the director of the Nevada Department of Homeland Security in 2007, told FrontPage.

“If the U.S.A. does not increase assistance via military resources, funding, advisors, plus most importantly, expanded intelligence gathering technology, we might very well end up with a Narco-Republic on our southern border….We do not have much time left,” he said.

The deteriorating security situation caused alarm at the Joint Forces Command last year, which
warned [16] that Mexico and Pakistan were the two countries most at risk of “rapid and sudden collapse.” Despite this warning, some officials tried to downplay the crisis. Last March, then-Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair said [17] that “Mexico is in no danger of becoming a failed state.” Senator John Kerry said [18] “I am troubled by suggestions from some quarters that Mexico is in imminent danger of becoming a failed state. Mexico is a functional democracy with a vibrant and open economy.”

The escalating drug war in Mexico makes it clear that the U.S. cannot be safe without adequate border security. The increasingly violent nature of the drug cartels, coupled with their ties to terrorist groups, make them a distinct threat to the homeland. Americans must force their elected officials to place a higher priority on protecting the nation than trying to score political points with the immigration issue.

Los Zetas in Los Angeles -- Mexican Cartel Expands in California

La Opinión, News Report, Jorge Morales Almada, Translated by Sarah Damian, Posted: Jul 23, 2010

One of the most violent criminal organizations in Mexico has established itself in Los Angeles.

From here, it controls drug distribution to other parts of the country and, according to an informant, has started recruiting former California prisoners to become assassins.

This is the fearsome organization of Los Zetas – a group of Mexican army deserters that in the late 90s became the armed wing of the Gulf Cartel. Since then, they have consolidated as a group of sicarios, fighting wars against some Mexican cartels and partnering with others.

Los Zetas began its incursion into the United States through Texas, but now they have extended their criminal network in California.

The head of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Narcotics Division, Lieutenant Alvin Jackson, admits, "Here in the city, the Sinaloa, Gulf and Los Zetas cartels are operating."

"They are operating at the middle level and at the street level," he told La Opinión in an interview, flanked by his team of agents.

"The (anti-drug) agencies working in Los Angeles are combating seven major cartels from Mexico. We’ve detected two of them, Los Zetas and the Gulf Cartel, working in distribution for the area covering San Fernando Valley, Westside, Central and South Central (Los Angeles)," said the police chief.

The other cartels operating in the area are the Arellano Félix, Beltrán Leyva, Sinaloa, La Familia and Carrillo Fuentes cartels.

Since 2006, the Sinaloa cartel, whose main drug lords in Mexico are Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada and Joaqu*n "El Chapo" Guzmán, has taken over the California territory, displacing the Arellano Félix cartel, to distribute drugs across the United States.

One of the top henchmen working for "El Chapo" and "El Mayo" was identified by the DEA and FBI as V*ctor Emilio Cázares Salazar (or Gastélum), as known as "El Licenciado."

But recently Los Zetas have established their operations in the Los Angeles area, a strategic location for drug trafficking.

    Recruitment

The informant sets the date, time and place for the interview. He wants to be in a public place where there are lots of people. He starts giving driving directions over the phone. He changes the location for the meeting three times, as a precaution.

The meeting finally takes place on a public bench at the corner of 83rd Street and Vermont Avenue in South Central Los Angeles.

The man who signals from a distance looks about 50 years old, with long hair in a ponytail, and a green military-style jacket.

He talks fast, says that he was in the army and for a few years has been going back and forth to his native state of Michoacán.

He does not hide his sympathy for the cartel La Familia.

"The truth is that La Familia does more for the people than the f------ government," he says. "They do care about the people, so the people protect them, and they'll never be able to destroy them."

The informant, who keeps looking in every direction, says that in the last few months Los Zetas have been recruiting people after they get out of Los Angeles jails, gang members who are unemployed and would be more than happy to fire an AK-47.

"They’re bringing them to Mexico where they’ll train them. That is their army," says the informant, who asked to have a longer interview on another day because he is feeling a little anxious.

The days passed and the informant stopped answering his cell phone. He didn't respond to voicemail. Days later his phone said it was out of service. One of his relatives in Mexico says they haven't heard from him.

    Strategic Point

"That is something we can’t say," said Los Angeles FBI director Steven Martinez regarding the recruitment of gang members by Los Zetas.

What the local FBI chief does stress is that Los Angeles is a strategic point for drug cartel operations, both for consumption and distribution throughout the country.

"There are people here who are connected with these major groups, for distribution networks, but the cartels are in Mexico, the drug lords are there," he says.

Mart*nez explains that the drug lords live where the drugs are produced, and that the marijuana that is produced in California is also sponsored by the cartels.

"There are operations for growing marijuana," he acknowledges, "but it's a production sponsored by the cartels in Mexico, Central and South America, something that our intelligence is very interested in and we are working to fight these activities."

Mexico: Prison guards let killers out, lent guns

    By MARK STEVENSON
    The Associated Press
    Sunday, July 25, 2010; 10:33 PM

Luis Vazquez Barragan, known as "El 20," an alleged member of the Mexican drug gang "La Linea," is escorted by police while presented to the press in Mexico City, Sunday July 25, 2010. According to police, Vazquez was detained in the border city of Ciudad Juarez during a raid on Friday July 23, 2010. (AP Photo/Marco Ugarte) (Marco Ugarte - AP)

MEXICO CITY -- Guards and officials at a prison in northern Mexico allegedly let inmates out, lent them guns and sent them off in official vehicles to carry out drug-related killings, including the massacre of 17 people last week, prosecutors said Sunday.

After carrying out the killings the inmates would return to their cells, the Attorney General's Office said in a revelation that was shocking even for a country wearied by years of drug violence and corruption.

"According to witnesses, the inmates were allowed to leave with authorization of the prison director ... to carry out instructions for revenge attacks using official vehicles and using guards' weapons for executions," office spokesman Ricardo Najera said at a news conference.

The director of the prison in Gomez Palacio in Durango state and three other officials were placed under a form of house arrest pending further investigation. No charges have yet been filed.

Prosecutors said the prison-based hit squad is suspected in three mass shootings, including the July 18 attack on a party in the city of Torreon, which is near Gomez Palacio. In that incident, gunmen fired indiscriminately into a crowd of mainly young people in a rented hall, killing 17 people, including women.

Police found more than 120 bullet casings at the scene, and Najera said tests matched those casings to four assault rifles assigned to guards at the prison.

Similar ballistics tests linked the guns to earlier killings at two bars in Torreon, the capital of northern Coahuila state, he said. At least 16 people were killed in those attacks on Feb. 1 and May 15, local media reported.

Najera blamed the killings on disputes between rival drug cartels. "Unfortunately, the criminals also carried out cowardly killings of innocent civilians, only to return to their cells," he said.

Coahuila and neighboring Durango are among several northern states that have seen a spike in drug-related violence that authorities attribute to a fight between the Gulf cartel and its former enforcers, known as the Zetas.

Mexico has long had a problem with investigating crimes, catching criminals and convicting people. Reports estimate less than 2 percent of crimes in Mexico result in prison sentences. But Sunday's revelation suggests that even putting cartel gunmen in prison may not prevent them from continuing to commit crimes.

Interior Secretary Francisco Blake said the revelation "can only be seen as a wake-up call for authorities to address, once again, the state of deterioration in many local law enforcement institutions ... we cannot allow this kind of thing to happen again."

Also Sunday, Mexican federal police announced the arrest of an alleged leading member of a drug gang blamed in recent killings and a car-bombing in the violence-ridden border city of Ciudad Juarez, across from El Paso, Texas.

Police described Luis Vazquez Barragan, 39, as a top member of La Linea gang, the enforcement arm of the Juarez cartel, saying he received orders directly from cartel boss Vicente Carrillo Fuentes.

Vazquez Barragan allegedly organized payments, moved drugs and oversaw a system of safe houses in and around Ciudad Juarez.

Police said he held the same rank as fugitive gang leader Juan Pablo Ledezma, though Vazquez Barragan is not named on reward or most-wanted lists published by the Attorney General's Office, as Ledezma is.

La Linea has been blamed for a car bomb that killed three people July 15 in Ciudad Juarez and for two separate shootings March 13 that killed a U.S. consular employee and two other people connected to the consulate.

Police did not say when they caught Vazquez Barragan, but he was allegedly in possession of about a half-kilogram (pound) of cocaine and two guns.

His arrest led to a raid on a safe house where authorities detained four suspects and freed a kidnap victim.

Also Sunday, the Attorney General's Office said soldiers on patrol in Ciudad Madero in the border state of Tamaulipas seized an arsenal of about three dozen guns, 17 grenades and thousands of bullets in a house.

Elsewhere in Tamaulipas, police and prosecutors raided a lot full of truck-pulled tankers in the border city of Reynosa and seized two loaded with oil of a type sometimes stolen from the pipelines of the state-owned Petroleos Mexicanos. Nore than a dozen other tankers and freight containers were also seized.

Mexican drug cartels have allegedly become involved in increasingly sophisticated thefts of fuel and oil from Mexico's pipelines.

In the Pacific coast state of Guerrero, authorities reported Sunday they had found the bullet-ridden bodies of six men dumped in various locations, including three in or around the resort of Acapulco. Two of the dead men were identified as people kidnapped earlier in the month.

Mexico: Prison guards let killers out, lent guns

Prison inmates allowed to leave their cells with weapons borrowed from guards carried out last week's killings of 17 people in northern Mexico, federal authorities said Sunday.

    By Ken Ellingwood
    Los Angeles Times

MEXICO CITY — Prison inmates allowed to leave their cells with weapons borrowed from guards carried out last week's killings of 17 people in northern Mexico, federal authorities said Sunday.

Ricardo Najera, spokesman for the federal attorney general's office, said prison officials in the northern state of Durango lent the inmates weapons and official vehicles to carry out several tit-for-tat killings on behalf of organized crime.

The deadliest was the July 18 attack on a birthday party at an inn in Torreon, in neighboring Coahuila state. Gunmen sprayed gunfire at revelers who had been summoned by an invitation on Facebook.
So far, authorities have identified a motive for the attack, which also left 18 people wounded.

Mexican prisons, overcrowded and poorly run, are violent hotbeds of criminal activity, including telephone extortion schemes and drug operations. Allowing inmates out to act as hit men would mark a new extreme.

Najera said inmates from the same prison, in the Durango city of Gomez Palacio, are suspected in shooting attacks this year at a pair of bars in Torreon, which sits across the state line, that killed a total of 18 people.

Four prison officials, including the director, Margarita Rojas, and security chief were being held under a form of house arrest as the investigation continued.

"The criminals carried out the execution as part of a settling of accounts against members of rival gangs tied to organized crime," Najera said during a news conference. The inmates returned to their cells after the attacks, Najera said.

Federal authorities said their investigation of guards at the Durango prison had turned up four AR-15 rifles that matched shells collected from the July 18 slayings.

The charges point to the staggering official corruption confronting Mexican President Felipe Calderón's war on drug cartels.

Mexico's interior minister, Francisco Blake, said the episode was a reminder of the "state of deterioration."

Mexican Prisoners 'Let Out' to Kill as Cartel Assassins

Armed inmate hit squads massacre dozens of civilians and drug-trade rivals.

El Siglo De Torreon-Reuters-LandovChairs and other items are scattered after gunmen invaded a party in Torreon, Mexico. The shooters killed 17 people and wounded at least 18.

On Saturday, July 17, Héctor José Mota Méndez, 35, was enjoying a party at the Italia Inn in Torreón, in the border state of Coahuila. The fiesta was being held for his birthday—the hall was filled with friends and family who'd been invited via Facebook. People ate, drank beer, enjoyed a local band.

At about 1.30 a.m., as the revelry began to peak, men pulled up in trucks and blocked the exits. They did not say a word before they opened fire with high-velocity assault rifles. Méndez died. So did his brother. Four members of the band died too. Their instruments, covered with blood, lay next to upended white plastic furniture, and plates, cups and abandoned shoes strewn about. By the time the shooting stopped and the gunmen fled, 17 people were dead and 18 wounded. Afterward, examining the bullet-pocked walls, authorities recovered 122 shells, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Initially investigators were puzzled. The killings had all the hallmarks of a drug-cartel hit, but none of those at the party had any connection to the brutal drug war that has deepened in Mexico since president Felipe Calderón dispatched troops to fight cartels in late 2006. The party was advertised as a gay event, but it did not seem like a hate crime.

And then they examined the shells from the weapons. The spent bullets, reports the BBC, matched guns issued to guards at Gomez Palacio prison in neighboring Durango state. State prosecutors now say that a group of prisoners was supplied with guns and official vehicles and released, repeatedly, as contract killers for a drug gang. They are thought to have committed two other mass murders in Torreón this year using the same weapons.

"The criminals carried out the executions as part of a settling of accounts with members of a rival organized-crime gang," Ricardo Najera, a spokesman for the state attorney general, told the BBC. "But they also killed innocent civilians in a cowardly manner before returning to their cells." The prison director and two officers are being investigated.

All the prison guards and half the inmates are to be questioned.

State investigators, according to The New York Times, believe that the partygoers on that Saturday night were killed simply because the bar they were in was owned by a rival cartel. They were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, and so their 17 names will now be added to the 25,000 who have died since 2006 in the name of Mexico's drug trade.

Prison chief allegedly sent inmates to conduct Mexico birthday party massacre

A prison director is suspected of arming inmates and sending them on the July 18 Mexico birthday party massacre that killed 17. To some, Mexico's drug war seems 'the script of a science fiction movie.'

Police officers patrol a street in Torreon, in the Mexican northern state of Coahuila, July 19. Gunmen burst into a private birthday party on July 18 and opened fired on guests, killing 17.

Mexico City When gunmen burst into a private birthday party on July 18 and opened fired on guests, killing 17, the attackers were initially suspected to be members of one of Mexico's drug gangs, which have killed thousands of people in escalating violence over the past several years.

Nobody could have guessed they were jail inmates on assignment from their prison director.

It turns out that the gunmen behind the July 18 Mexico birthday party massacre had already been incarcerated for crimes in Mexico's drug wars. Prison guards reportedly lent vehicles and weapons to the inmates to carry out a 'revenge attack' in the northern city of Torreon.

Afterward, the inmates drove back to their cells in the nearby city of Gomez Palacio.

    IN PICTURES: Mexico's drug war
"According to witnesses, the inmates were allowed to leave with authorization of the prison director ... to carry out instructions for revenge attacks using official vehicles and using guards' weapons for executions," Ricardo Najera, a spokesman from the attorney general's office, revealed Sunday.

The attack may have been motivated by rival drug trafficking gangs, Mr. Najera said, though innocent people were among the victims. The prison director and security guard, among others, have been put under house arrest.

    Corrupt police force

The incident highlights a weak point in Mexican President Felipe Calderón's strategy against drug traffickers, with corruption rife in police forces and prison systems, says Jorge Chabat, who researches the drug war at the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics, a university in Mexico City.

“Security is a chain of all these processes, of police, judiciary, and prison system. If one of these links fail, then everything fails,” says Professor Chabat.

President Calderón has presented reforms to Mexico's police and judiciary, but Chabat says that little attention has been paid to prisons, even though drug traffickers often carry out extortion and business behind their cells.

Even Calderón's own newly installed Interior Secretary Jose Francisco Blake Mora agreed that the incident calls for a potential policy change.

The incident "can only be seen as a wake-up call for authorities to address, once again, the state of deterioration in many local law enforcement institutions ... we cannot allow this kind of thing to happen again," Mr. Blake said Sunday.

    Wearier by the day

While Ciudad Juarez, across the border from El Paso, Texas, has captured most of the attention in the drug wars that have taken nearly 25,000 lives since Calderón launched a military-backed offensive in late 2006, other cities are becoming new flashpoints.

The revelations in the Torreon investigation come as 51 bodies were uncovered in mass graves in the state of Nuevo Leon over the weekend, outside of the industrial city of Monterrey.

Mexicans seem wearier by the day. In a column Monday morning in the daily El Universal, Denise Maerker writes: “It seems the script of a science fiction movie, but no, it is the plot resulting from the first investigations that the attorney general has carried out after the executions of innocent young people in Torreon, Coahuila.”

Mexico's Drug War Adopts Al Qaeda Tactics

Car Bombs, Mass Killings Part of Increasing Violence Related to Drug Cartels

    By Bill Whitaker

Play CBS Video Video Drug War Violence Escalates The Mexican drug war persists with 43 people indicted in San Diego and 18 bodies linked to drug wars discovered outside Monterrey. Bill Whitaker reports that gangs have resorted to al Qaeda-like tactics.

Photo Essay Mexico Border Violence U.S. struggles to keep Mexican drug cartel violence from spilling across border.

(CBS) As America fights two wars overseas -- another one is raging, much closer to home.

Mexico's drug war is every bit as violent. On Friday alone, 43 people were indicted in San Diego for murder and kidnapping, including a Mexican government official.

And outside Monterrey, Mexico, 23 bodies were found Thursday at a dump site used by drug gangs.

As CBS News correspondent Bill Whitaker reports, the cartels have begun using the same ruthless tactics as al Qaeda.

Responding to an emergency call of a policeman shot in downtown Juarez, an officer and a paramedic work frantically to save the man's life - when in a flash, a huge explosion occurs from a nearby car bomb.

Mexico's drug war takes a dramatic and frightening turn. For the first time, drug gangsters used a car bomb as a weapon. The wounded man was a decoy dressed in a uniform to lure police to the bomb. An officer, a paramedic and the decoy died in the blast.

Then, over the weekend, strange and ominous graffiti appeared warning the U.S. FBI to investigate corrupt Mexican officials, or expect another car bomb.

"The use of the car bomb clearly represents a tactical escalation … We've seen the first car bombing, there probably will be more,'' said Brian Jenkins with the Rand Corp, a think tank that studies government policy.

Mexico has been bleeding and crying since President Felipe Calderon declared war on drug cartels four years ago. He deployed 45,000 troops; but so far they're no match for ruthless drug gangsters who are flush with guns and money from $25 billion or more annual profits from selling drugs to the U.S.

Recently President Calderon blamed the U.S. for Mexico's troubles, writing in an editorial: "The origin of our violence problems begins with the fact that Mexico is located next to the country that has the highest levels of drug consumption in the world."

"The way they see it, they are fighting our war on drugs,'' said Jenkins, the Rand Corp. analyst.

Especially on the border, where there have been 140 drug slayings in Nogales, Mexico so far this year, more than all of last year.

"There's a lot of homicides in any hour, any day of the week," said Marco Flores Lopez, a crime reporter for TV Azteca Sonora.

Nowhere is bloodier than Juarez. This city just across from El Paso, Texas is more dangerous than Baghdad -- with more than 1,000 drug related slayings so far this year.

"The war that they are having is a tremendous, all-out war,'' says Juarez Mayor Jose Reyes Ferriz.

An all out war, that now with a recent car bombing, just took a deadly turn for the worse.

Muslim Terrorists Using Mexican Border to Enter US: Is Obama Facilitating?

    July 3rd, 2010 | Author: Un:dhimmi

“Do Your Job!” Arizona Governor Jan Brewer sticks it to The Man
Yes He Is! President Barack Obama and the Mexican Government are preparing to wage lawfare on the State of Arizona for the apparent crime of wishing to defend its border:

While Americans march against Arizona’s new restrictions on unlawful immigration, hundreds of illegal aliens from countries awash in Muslim terrorists tiptoe across the U.S.-Mexican frontier.

In New York, according to the federal Enforcement Integrated Database, 125 individuals were apprehended along the border from fiscal year 2009 through April 20, 2010. These deportable aliens included two Syrians, seven Sudanese, and 17 Iranians, all nationals from the three Islamic countries that the U.S. government officially classifies as state sponsors of terrorism.

Federal authorities also track “special interest countries” from which terrorism could be directed against America. Over the aforementioned period, 99 of those nations’ citizens also were nabbed on the border.

They were: two Afghans, five Algerians, 13 Iraqis, 10 Lebanese, 22 Nigerians, 28 Pakistanis, two Saudis, 14 Somalis, and three Yemenis. During FY 2007 and FY 2008, federal officials caught 319 people from these same countries traversing America’s southwest border.

Some such characters were confined in Arizona, which recently adopted a controversial law that lets cops ask the citizenship status of those they suspect of other possible violations. WSB-TV recently publicized an “population breakdown” of immigrants detained at a facility in Florence, Ariz. Of the 395 males behind bars, 198 were Mexican, 18 hailed from Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.

Perhaps these gentlemen simply want to pursue the American dream. Worrisome signs suggest, however, that some may have arrived via blistering, cactus-adorned deserts so they could blow Americans to smithereens.

Texas Border Patrol agents discovered, along with Iranian currency and Islamic prayer rugs, an Arabic clothing patch that reads “martyr” and “way to immortality.” Another shows a jet flying into a skyscraper.

“Members of Hezbollah, the Lebanon-based terrorist organization, have already entered the United States across our southwest border,” declares “A Line in the Sand,” a 2006 report by the House Homeland Security Investigations Subcommittee, then-chaired by Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas).

Even more disturbing are the uninvited terrorists and terror suspects that were arrested after entering America through our permeable underbelly:

    • Mahmoud Youssef Kourani pleaded guilty in March 2005 to providing material support to terrorists. First, Kourani secured a visa by bribing a Mexican diplomat in Beirut. He and another Middle Easterner then hired a Mexican guide to escort them into America. Finally, Kourani settled in Dearborn, Michigan’s Lebanese-immigrant community, and raised cash for Hezbollah.

    • Miguel Alfonso Salinas was caught in New Mexico near the international border in 2006. As The Washington Examiner reported, one week of FBI interrogation exposed Salinas as an Egyptian named Ayman Sulmane Kamal. Evidently, he remains in federal custody.

    • Then-National Intelligence Director Mike McConnell said that in FY 2006 and FY 2007, at least 30 potentially dangerous Iraqis were found trying to penetrate America via Mexico. As McConnell told the El Paso Times: “There are numerous situations where people are alive today because we caught them.”

    • The Department of Homeland Security recently issued an intelligence alert regarding a possible border-crossing attempt by a Somali named Mohamed Ali. He is a suspected member of Al-Shabaab, a Somali-based al-Qaida ally tied to the deadly attack on American GIs in 1993’s notorious “Blackhawk Down” incident in Mogadishu.

    • Captured in Brownsville, Texas, Ahmed Muhammed Dhakane pleaded not guilty recently to federal charges that he “ran a large-scale smuggling enterprise” designed to sneak East Africans through Mexico into Texas, including “several AIAI-affiliated Somalis into the United States.” Al-Ittihad Al-Islami is yet another Muslim-extremist organization.

    • Daniel Joseph Maldonado also has Somali ties. He was picked up in Somalia in 2007 during terrorist training. He was returned to Houston for prosecution. As Rice University’s Joan Neuhas Schaan told KHOU-TV: “They had plans for him to come back to the United States and recruit female suicide bombers.”

Americans to Obama: 'Stop kowtow-ing to Muslims and Mexico and do your job! '

All this involves only the bad guys who the authorities nailed. Those who have stayed undetected after crossing the border to murder Americans remain, by definition, invisible.

It has been known for some time that, along with Illegal immigrants and drug traffickers, hardline Islamists are using the porous US/Mexican border in order to gain access to America, the Great Satan. Islamist cells exist throughout Latin America and these are growing, along with the increasingly hard socialist profile of governments in the region.

Under normal circumstances, this would be a non-story: Islamists make attempts every day enter developed countries such as Britain and other States in Europe and elsewhere. But the US is different.

Here there appears to be a situation where both the US and Mexican Governments almost seem to be working in concert to marginalise the efforts made by the border States – and Arizona, a State particularly hard-hit by drug trafficking and other illegal activity – to secure themselves.

This obligation to do this goes with the territory of sharing a frontier with a part of Northern Mexico which, frankly, is increasingly taking on the demeanour of a failed narco-state.

Surely the overwhelming duty of such states, in these circumstances, is to protect their citizens?

It would seem not, in the strange, morally-inverted world inhabited by President Barack Obama.

Why is he waging war against state legislation? Why does he seem to be siding with the Mexican government, who themselves appear to be in the throes of preparing an outrageous piece of human rights litigation lawfare to sue Arizona for, um, doing what it is supposed to do?

Could it be that, as so often during his presidency, he is preparing to betray the American people for the sake of chasing votes from the massive Hispanic bloc; and money from cheap labour-addicted big business? Or perhaps he really is so concerned about Mexicans’ rights that he is prepared to compromise the interests of his own citizens in order to uphold them?

Either way, Obama is knowingly making it easier for Islamic terrorists, drug gangsters and illegal immigrants to enter the US, by the back door and in their thousands.

Police find 8 severed heads in northern Mexico

MEXICO CITY — The severed heads of eight men were found left in pairs along highways in the northern Mexico state of Durango, state prosecutors said Tuesday.

The bodies had not yet been located, but the victims appeared to have been between 25 and 30 years old, officials said.

Durango has been the scene of brutal turf battles between drug gangs.

Prosecutors said over the weekend that officials at a Durango prison let drug cartel gunmen to leave penitentiary and lent them guns and vehicles to carry out executions.

Also Tuesday, prosecutors in the central state of Puebla reported that three federal police agents were shot to death on a highway in a confrontation with gunmen. The assailants escaped.

In the northern border state of Chihuahua, prosecutors said a second cousin of Gov.-elect Cesar Duarte was shot to death by attackers in the city of Parral. The victim, lawyer Alberto Porras Duarte, was slain while waiting in a vehicle outside his office.

One of Duarte's nephews was killed earlier this month in the Chihuahua state capital in what appeared to be a failed kidnapping attempt. The state has been the scene of some Mexico's bloodiest drug violence.

In the border state of Tamaulipas, army officials reported Monday that they had captured nine Guatemalan citizens during patrols against drug trafficking organizations and seized seven grenades and two guns from the suspects.

A day earlier, troops in Tamaulipas detained 11 people believed to work for the Zetas drug gang and seized five rifles.

Almost 25,000 people have died in drug-related violence since President Felipe Calderon launched an offensive against the cartels in late 2006.
