Mal, meant to ask and forgot. Are you guys allowed to have CA Compliant rifles with a setup like a bullet button or are those no-go too?

Only reason I ask is because KY Gun Co will set up those above rifles with a bullet button, I believe, at no charge.

Here's another, even better, Wolf 5.56 ammo deal.

    http://www.the-armory.com/shopsite_s...-ammo-can.html

$279 + shipping and comes with a surplus steel ammo can.

Shipping is supposed to be very reasonable from this place.

We can have a bullet button, but it doesn't reduce our features any as the magazine would still be considered removable. CA law is pretty specific about it, that is requires a tool to remove the mag. NJ has no such language. If the magazine is removable, it's one of the features. If the magazine is permanently attached(welded, blind pin, etc), you can get a different feature, but a permanently attached mag on an AR is pretty useless.

They would probably fix up a NJ compliant model, but again, I don't need an AR.

Ah, gotcha. Wasn't sure if something like the CA bullet button suddenly made it kosher. Admittedly I am not well versed on the nuances of the laws in the states that restrict freedom.

Sounds like the solution is a top loading AR!

There were a number of Black Friday firearms related deals I saw but, truth be told, none of them were especially better than deals I've come across throughout the year and posted here so I never really bothered to post them.

Only deal I've seen so far is on http://www.gearhog.com/

It is an NFA/Firearms trust for $59 through 199trust.com. Their normal price is $200. Cheapest I've seen them discounted this year until now is $69.

Useful if you're planning on easily buying any suppressors, short barreled rifles or shotguns, or pre-86 machine guns.

The deal is good through the weekend.

Camping Survival is having a 15% off Mountain House Buckets and pouches sale.

Only a couple of bucket varieties available but the prices aren't bad.

US Carburetion is having a sale on their generator tri-fuel kits for under $100. Normally they are about 2.5x-3x this price.

The tri-fuel kit will allow your generator to run on gasoline, propane, or natural gas.

The sale is technically over now so you'd better jump on it while the prices are still marked down!

    http://www.motorsnorkel.com/

Just select "Conversion Kits" and enter your generator's information. They even had one for my Generac 5500XL!

You can pick up the regulator, connectors, and hosing elsewhere if you want but US Carburetion has ones ready to go out of the box if you want.

AIM Surplus has police trade in Smith & Wesson M&P .45s on sale for $350.

    http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.as...un&groupid=212

Comes with night sights. Includes 1 Factory 10rd magazine and the 1 set of installed Palmswell grips only.

I'd be all over one of these if I weren't working on my Form 1 suppressors now.

I'd take one if I didn't have to wade through 6 weeks of paperwork and background checks.

I've got a .45. Wonder if it's worth having two?

Two is one, one is none.

It's always better to have more guns in the same caliber

    What he said.

On top of that, police trade in .45s don't come up nearly as often as .40s and 9s

Thanks for the direction. Ryan too.

I feel like a dope, but would you explain your "Two is one..." quote?

Two is one, one is none.

It means that if you only have one of something, chances are at some point it will fail and when you need it most...you will have none.

In any mission critical path, only redundancy ensures success.

Are you familiar with Six Sigma? It essentially establishes that if you can get your failure/reject/scrap/whatever down into six zeros after the decimal point, that's pretty much good enough.

The odds of my H&K failing is probably 4 to 5 sigma. The odds of two H&Ks failing is probably out there at 6 Sigma.

The Airline industry runs about 8 sigma. Most if not all commercial aircraft with two engines can take off and land with one engine. Two is one.

    Makes sense.

I think I get it. Being less of a scientist or technician, this way of thinking isn't a part of my paradigm. I'm a visual, creative right-brained individual for the most part. Unfortunately, my salary reflects this.

Seems to be the season for police trade in .45s

Here's some Glock 21s with night sights for $350. An extra $15 gets you a hand picked one.

Comes with a 13rnd magazine but they have extra police trade in magazines for $15 (a decent price, new are $25).

Only 44 left as of this post!
