Ha! Ha! Glad you could take advantage of the deal MM.

I'm not sure of the details of the differences between the TK11 and TK12 but, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

I don't know if anyone runs ACU/AUC camo pattern gear or not but if you do, or just don't mind that it is a far from effective camo, SKD Tactical is running a 40-50% discount on all ACU/AUC gear.

Got the TK12's in and they are almost as bright as the TK11's on the high setting.

    TK11 258 Lumens Turbo-Mode Run Time 2:45hrs
    TK12 245 Lumens Turbo-Mode Run Time 2:45hrs

    TK11 48 Lumens Non-Turbo Run Time 12:00hrs
    TK12 42 Lumens Non-Turbo Run Time 20:00hrs

There is big difference on the lower settings brightness and battery life.
Great SHTF hardware and weapon mountable at a great price!

    Thank you Ryan!!!

    No prob v!

Thanks for posting the stats on those. I had wondered about what the differences were since both lights looked so similar.

$4.66 a meal. Not too bad, but beans, rice and oil are cheaper.

Beans and rice last pretty much for a 100 years. (long as you don't let bugs eat it)

Well, I found out the hard way that Barre Army Navy considers these "bulk" items.

They are not included in the free shipping deal so I got hit with $52 in shipping.

By the way Rick, got the rice covered to the tune of about 250lbs. Haven't found anywhere near me that sells bulk beans but then again, I haven't gone to the local Aldis or GFSs. I just know Sam's doesn't sell them.

I got these mostly to toss in packs for travel sustenance, not really long term survival food.

I didn't buy the beans in bulk.

We started buying a few bags and putting them into our bean bin (lol bean bin!) and my wife would shop at the commissary most of the time when we started storing food. Over time she would simply add a second bag of beans to her list (and canned goods, and rice, and flour or whatever) over the course of a couple of years...

As time went on, of course we USE the food we store, but we also put in a little each time (more than we use) until we had about 100 lbs of beans, rice, I don't know how much flour and corn meal, but enough to keep us fed a long time. We added oils and fats that were stored in a manner they would last up to years.

Now - we're not storing it like we used to. We have some basic staple supplies now and have reduced the amount of canned food, etc. Plus as of a few weeks ago, I have two more living at my house until March 1st (I gave everyone an eviction notice already - including me. I'm moving out of my house one way or another in march to have contractors do some work and get it on the market). The dates are set.

The food left over will be split up between my five kids and my wife and I so we have a small quantity for ourselves and the rest goes to the kids. MOST of my kids these days have a similar method to mine of storing food.

Buy extra, store it, and add to it until you reach your goal.

Don't do it all at once, buy a little here, a little there. Like saving your pennies. Eventually you have a LOT of pennies then you cash in.

    That's not a bad price.

Real MREs that I get at the Commissary are $7.33 each.

Don't quote me on the cents part of that - but the dollar part is accurate.

Yep, it is amazing how quick you can acquire a nice stash if you spend an extra $10-$20 each time you go shopping.

    50lb of rice - $15
    1lb of salt - $.50
5lb of sugar - $4 (don't hold me to that one)
Can of cheap coffee - $6

As an aside, I sent a note to Barre Army Navy suggesting that it may be a good idea to include a note that the MRE packs are considered bulk since shipping charges may be an unwelcome surprise to some. They said they received several emails about that the same as mine.

Protip: Go to a big box grocer that will be helpful and find a person who can lookup beans and other good that come in large bags. I know Safeway and their other stores can get a very large Pinto bean bag. Like 10 to 20 pounds. Special order it.

Heads up on anyone looking for some electronic ear pro for shooting.

Amazon has Peltor Tactical 6S electronic ear muffs on sale for $37.51

It may say $53.59 but just add it to your cart, go to checkout and, you can see the discount applied.

Normal retail on these is $60-$100. I ordered 3 pair for myself.

Added to my cart and no discount from the 53.59. Deleted from cart due to that. Would have bought 2.

Sorry Phil, go to checkout with them in your cart. You'll see the price.

Added that to my post above to clarify.

Big Brown Santa just dropped mine off that I ordered Thursday (Sorry I forgot to post about the deal until yesterday ).

They are really compact when folded for storage, almost as small as a can of pop but a little larger.

The electronics seem to work great. Can hear plenty clearly with them turned on. There's a little electronic "snow" sound but I suppose that's normal. It's been a while since I've used electronic muffs and can't remember. No way to test out the responsiveness to gunfire at the moment.

As for fit they are very adjustable. They fit over my glasses (Oakley Square Wires) just fine. They even fit under my night vision PASGT helmet though it is a little tight but not overly. I'd imagine they'd fit an ACH or MICH helmet much better.

Putting the batteries in isn't too tough. There are two methods in the manual to do it, I recommend using the small screwdriver but be careful! The plastic for the cup part seems a little soft and like it could be damaged if you pry too hard.

Overall a really great buy for $35, especially for them being Peltors.

Nope. No such discount showed in the cart. You were lucky I guess. Or timely. Either way you made out.
