Obama's DOJ Sues Minnesota City for Rejecting Islamic Center

The Department of Justice has announced that it is suing the small town of St. Anthony, Minnesota, after a two-year investigation into the town's denial of a permit to create an Islamic cultural center.
The DOJ claims that the north Minneapolis town broke a federal law when it rejected the center in 2012.
"An injustice has been done," U.S. Attorney Andrew Luger said on August 27. "I will not stand by while any religious group is subject to unconstitutional treatment that violates federal civil rights laws."
The DOJ claims that the city violated the law when it refused the Abu Huraira Islamic Center the right to create an Islamic cultural center in the basement of the St. Anthony Business Center. The DOJ cites a violation of the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act that was enacted in the year 2000.
In his press conference, Luger said that if local voters rose up to force their politicians to allow the Islamic center to be established and follow his interpretation of the law he would consider withdrawing the lawsuit.
Lugar may be putting hope in the wrong people, however, as many voters actually spoke out against the center at a city council meeting in June of 2012.
But the city fathers insist that the decision to deny the permit is based solely on zoning issues and had nothing to do with religion.
"Religious uses of any type are allowed in the vast majority of the city," City Attorney Jay Lindgren said. "They are just not allowed in the roughly 5 percent of the city reserved for industrial uses. … An industrial zone is designed to create jobs and be an economic engine."
To buttress its case, the DOJ claimed that there were examples in the past of the city allowing some religious groups to use the zoned areas and also allowing non-industrial uses. But Lindgren said that the city has denied permits to religious sects other than Muslims in the past, proving, he said, that the town isn't discriminating against Muslims.
"The city will vigorously defend its actions," Lindgren insisted this week. "Doesn't matter whether it's a mosque, synagogue, church--none are allowed in the area intended for manufacturing and offices where jobs are put into place."
2nd Minnesota Man Killed Fighting for ISIS in Syria

In the past 48 hours, two men from Minnesota have been reported killed while fighting for the terrorist group ISIS in Syria. Both died in a battle with the Free Syrian Army.
Douglas McCain, who grew up in the suburb of New Hope, was first reported dead by NBC News. McCain converted to Islam in 2004, and was friends since high school with Troy Kastigar, a fellow convert who later died fighting for the terrorist organization al-Shabaab in Somalia. Before his death, Kastigar recorded a special Minnesota-themed promotional video for al-Shabaab, encouraging Minnesotans to join jihad.
After some time in San Diego, interrupted by a trip to Sweden to jumpstart an aborted rap career, McCain traveled to Turkey this spring, later making his way into Syria.
The second Minnesotan’s identity was disclosed today as Abdirahmaan Muhumed, a 29-year-old Somali-American father of nine from Minneapolis. Muhumud was profiled by Minnesota Public Radio in June, when he was already known to be fighting for ISIS in Syria.Friends said Muhumed had family problems, separations from at least three wives. His shift to radical ideology fits the similar profile of Zakaria Maruf and Farah Mohamed Beledi, two men from Minnesota who were in their late 20s when they left and who both had criminal records and struggled to succeed in the United States.
Maruf and Beledi both had joined al-Shabaab and died in Somalia, with Beledi becoming the second Minnesotan suicide bomber in the Horn of Africa country.
NBC News, citing sources, estimated that 70 to 100 Americans have joined ISIS. The FBI claims that as many as 15 of them are from Minnesota.
Abdirizak Bihi, a local Somali-American community leader, claims that ISIS has recently begun trying to recruit women to join their cause as well.“They are brainwashing them to marry them off to jihadists,” he said. “They call them to help out as nurses, help out the wounded — but the real catch is they will be sexually exploited.”

The FBI’s most recent national threat assessment for domestic terrorism makes no reference to Islamist terror threats, despite last year’s Boston Marathon bombing and the 2009 Fort Hood shooting—both carried out by radical Muslim Americans.
Instead, the internal FBI intelligence report concluded in its 2013 assessment published this month that the threat to U.S. internal security from extremists is limited to attacks and activities by eight types of domestic extremist movements—none motivated by radical Islam.
They include anti-government militia groups and white supremacy extremists, along with “sovereign citizen” nationalists, and anarchists. Other domestic threat groups outlined by the FBI assessment include violent animal rights and environmentalist extremists, black separatists, anti- and pro-abortion activists, and Puerto Rican nationalists.
“Domestic extremist violence continues to be unpredictable and, at times, severe,” the report states.
A copy of the unclassified, 60-page National Threat Assessment for Domestic Extremism, dated Aug. 14, was obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. It warns that the threat of domestic-origin extremism was moderate in 2013 and will remain so for this year.
“Domestic extremists collectively presented a medium-level threat to the United States in 2013; the FBI assesses the 2014 threat will remain close to this level,” the report said.

The Grand Mufti of the Department of Social Justice (aka, DOJ) has issued a fatwa prohibiting states from using zoning laws to deny building permits for Islamic “culture centers” -- Mosques with “youth centers.”
… as a grand jury investigates another Minneapolis mosque for radicalizing recruits for ISIL, the Justice Department is suing local officials for blocking a new extremist mosque in the area.The mosque website openly endorses jihad. Its website says that Muslims are instructed to fight and take "captives" in "warfare" and says it will "condone violence." Further, the mosque is to be modeled after the nearby Dar Al-Farooq mosque and its youth center, which is being investigated for the radicalization and recruitment of as many as forty Muslims who have left America to fight for the Islamic State.
Attorney General Eric Holder sued St. Anthony, Minn., after the Minneapolis suburb rejected the Abu Huraira Islamic Center and its 15,000-square-foot mosque over zoning issues.
Nonetheless, with the full endorsement and praise of CAIR (Council of American Islamic Resurgence), Holder is confidently moving ahead with investigations into twenty-eight cases nationwide involving local denials of mosques, many of which have seated radical imams and officials tied to terrorist groups.
Evidently this is part of the Obama administration’s smart diplomacy. The president intends to make good on his claim that America is a Muslim nation. The idea is to distract public attention by combating bloody Islamist organizations abroad and smooth the path for stealth jihad on the home front.

An MP has complained after seeing a sign posted near a popular park warning dog-walkers to stay out of ‘Islamic areas’.
Labour Member of Parliament Jim Fitzpatrick alerted police and the local mayor about the sign after it was flagged up by one of the residents in his east London constituency.
The sign, which was spotted on the railings of Bartlett Park, reads: ‘Do not walk your dog here! Muslims do not like dogs. This is an Islamic area now.’

Police say an investigation is now underway to find out who put it up.

Will Obama Use State To Silence Critics Of The False Prophet Muhammad?

President Obama’s press secretary is hitting back at journalists who might slander the false prophet Muhammad or otherwise offend Islamic jihadists. Josh Earnest declared that the President wouldn’t be shy about expressing his disapproval of such journalism. He also indicated the President would take “steps that are necessary” to protect the military from such acts of offensive journalism. Earnest argued for the President’s position while hiding behind the strawman of protecting the military. Suddenly we are to believe the President is interested in protecting the lives of military members, this after Benghazi and any number of new conflicts he’s gotten the nation involved in. This to after he allowed Iraq to fall into the hands of ISIS, thus making the blood spilled in that country under his watch largely meaningless.
The President is of course free to speak his mind about any news article, political cartoon or sensational story printed in the media. If he doesn’t like something that is printed, he can rant to the press about it to his heart’s content. With less than two years before his successor is selected, the President’s bully pulpit is quickly fading. While the left-wing press still fawns over Obama, the less power he has the less likely they’ll bow to his wishes. Even if they were to bow to Obama’s wishes and not publish pieces slandering the false prophet Muhammad, such would be a private decision. The President has the right under the Constitution to express his opinion, the first amendment protects his ability to freely speak. Likewise, the press has the right to publish or not publish whatever they want for whatever reasons they want.
The question is what Earnest means when he suggests the President may take “steps that are necessary” to protect the military. This was spoken in the same sentence as his comment about Obama expressing his opinion. This is where this President could potentially move into unconstitutional waters. It’s one thing to express an opinion or use the President’s bully pulpit to cajole the media. It’s another thing entirely to threaten legal action. Make no mistake, the administration threatening “steps that are necessary” points directly at legal action. What legal action the administration imagines it could take is anyone’s guess. Whether Obama likes it or not, people can slander the false prophet Muhammad in any way they want here in the United States. Of course with this President taking unconstitutional measures is a regular practice, so it should surprise no one if they devise some legal maneuver to silence the opponents of the false prophet Muhammad.
Earnest decries the use of the term “radical Islam” by the press. He’s actually right here, the press shouldn’t use the term. Of course, Earnest imagines that real Islam isn’t like the jihadist version which Earnest in all his wisdom dismisses as illegitimate. In reality, “radical Islam” is Islam by the book. The Koran teaches followers to “slay the unbelievers wherever you find them.” It teaches Muslims to “terrorize and behead those who believe in scripture other than the Koran.” It encourages followers to make war against infidels and kill them wherever they are found. Unless Earnest imagines that people who actually believe in the Koran are radicals, the jihadists are regular, run of the mill Muslims. Earnest and the administration are lying to the country by pretending otherwise.
Ultimately the American mainstream media is too weak and pandering to actually publish articles questioning Islam. They’re all to willing to publish pieces attacking Christianity but they rarely if ever publish anything that questions Islam much less attacks it as a religion of violence. In the internet age there are thousands of bloggers or random people with websites who call into question Islam or otherwise slander the false prophet Muhammad. There are almost certainly a handful of talk radio hosts who have questioned Islam or otherwise called into question the false prophet. For the most part though the media is unwilling to seriously call Islam into question. These days maybe they fear a lawsuit from the President who apparently will take necessary steps to prevent the media from slandering the false prophet.

Muslim Call to Prayer to be Chanted Every Friday at Duke University

In a new initiative to promote religious pluralism, Duke University will broadcast the Muslim call to prayer every Friday on campus. The call to prayer—also known as “adhan”—will be chanted by the Duke Muslim Student Association.
The prayer itself is set to start this Friday at 1:00 p.m. and will be broadcast and amplified from the Chapel bell tower on campus.
As campuses continue to foster political correctness, they use it as a way to favor religions seemingly at war with Western Civilization and Judeo-Christian beliefs.
Frequently, we see students fighting for their religious freedom on campus—especially Christians. We hope that Duke University will also allow equal opportunity for Christian students to gather to pray and respect their religious freedom.
Duke University has a long history of fostering political correctness and hypersensitivity, from Chick-Fil-A’s removal from campus, to hosting a the national Palestinian Solidarity Movement conference, and to canceling a pro-life event in their Women’s Center on campus.
Young America’s Foundation called and emailed Duke University’s associate dean of religious life, Christy Lohr Sapp, for comment but has yet to hear back. Ashley Pratte, spokeswoman for Young America’s Foundation, spoke with the associate dean’s assistant who confirmed this story.

In light of the fallout from the recent shooting in Texas, conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh says Sharia law is already happening.
Limbaugh said on his radio show Thursday that on "one of the networks this morning somebody was defending Pam Geller and started saying, 'If we're not careful, Sharia law is gonna happen,'" and the co-host responded, saying that "'There isn't gonna be Sharia law in the United States of America. Just isn't gonna happen. Come on, get real, get real, it's silly.'"
But Limbaugh said that "Sharia law has already been implemented in this country."
"Are you aware that in New Jersey a judge found that an Islamic man could not be accused of the rape of his wife?" the conservative radio host asked his audience.
"A judge in New Jersey found that he could not be charged with it, much less found guilty, because there's no rape in his religion," he explained. "Well, hello. That's Sharia.
"Now, it's not Sharia that has become American law, but it's been implemented," he added. "It's been used."

President Barack Obama’s administration has quietly suggested it is willing to create a two-tier race-based legal system in Hawaii, where one set of taxes, spending and law enforcement will govern one race, and the second set of laws will govern every other race.
The diversity proposal is portrayed as an effort to create a separate in-state government for people who are “native Hawaiians.”
If Obama succeeds, “what’s to prevent creating similar [self-governing racial] groups out of say, Cajuns, or Orthodox Jews or Amish?” said Gail Heriot, a commissioner on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.
“If you can do that with groups that are already part of the mainstream, you can balkanize the country,” said Heriot, who is a law professor at the University of San Diego.
But the proposed measure to increase legal diversity is illegal because the president doesn’t have the power to grant one group of Americans the status of a separate government, she said.
“There is no constitutional basis for conferring such status, and Congress has repeatedly refused to confer this status,” said Carissa Mulder, a spokeswoman for two members of the federal Commission on Civil Rights.
“This seems to be yet another case of the Obama administration ignoring the law to achieve its policy objectives,” she added.
The move was announced Friday before Memorial Day as White House officials and congressional Democrats stepped up predictions that the president will try to bypass congressional opposition to his progressive policy preferences.
Last week, for example, Democratic Senate leader Harry Reid suggested the president would reduce enforcement of federal immigration law because the House has not agreed to double the current inflow of almost two million immigrants and guest workers per year.
The proposed new legal regime for Hawaii is sketched in a federal document released Friday, dubbed an Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking.
“The Secretary of the Interior is considering whether to propose an administrative rule that would facilitate the reestablishment of a government-to-government relationship with the Native Hawaiian community,” said the document.
The goal, it claimed, is “to more effectively implement the special political and trust relationship that Congress has established between that [Hawaiian] community and the United States.”
The move is likely intended to protect lucrative financial set-asides for Americans who are also part of the Hawaiian racial group, said Heriot.
These set-aside, which include cheap loans, are being threatened by the Supreme Court’s move to curb racial divisions and imposed racial diversity. In 2000, for example, the court’s Rice vs. Cayetano decision allowed non-Hawaiians to participate in the election of trustees for the state’s wealthy Office of Hawaiian Affairs.
The office holds a large tract of land in Hawaii under a legal trust, which generates revenue that is distributed to racial Hawaiians.
The 7,300 square kilometers of land were granted as a trust to the native Hawaiians in 1920 instead of creating a new tribal reservation that would have segregated Hawaiians from America’s mainstream government, economy and society. The transfer was solidified in 1959 when Hawaiians voted to become a state in the union, and in 1978 by the creation of the office to oversee use of the trust.
The land was awarded as trust, not a reservation, because Hawaiians were full citizens, said Heriot. “They’re part of the mainstream,” she said.
The Cayetano decision shows the court doesn’t want to encourage further moves toward tribal and racial separatism by granting more power to the race-based groups, such as the Office of Hawaiian affairs, she said.
“Once they made that decision, it’s pretty clear that whole is in jeopardy,” over the long run, said Heriot.
In response, Hawaiian groups lobbied Congress to pass the Akaka bill, named after Sen. Daniel Akaka, a native Hawaiian senator.
The bill would have imposing variety on Hawaiians’ shared government, via the creation of a tribal government for Hawaiians.
That bill would have converted Hawaiians’ status from normal Americans into to subgroup similar to American Indians. Many Indians live on reservations governed by tribal governments since they were overrun during the European settlement of north America. The Akaka bill would also have transferred the Hawaiian land to the new tribe, allowing it to be used to generate wealth via gambling and other businesses for racial Hawaiians, she said.

The seizure of Infidel girls and their use as sex slaves is sanctioned in the Qur’an. According to Islamic law, Muslim men can take “captives of the right hand” (Qur’an 4:3, 4:24, 33:50). The Qur’an says: “O Prophet! Lo! We have made lawful unto thee thy wives unto whom thou hast paid their dowries, and those whom thy right hand possesseth of those whom Allah hath given thee as spoils of war” (33:50). 4:3 and 4:24 extend this privilege to Muslim men in general. The Qur’an says that a man may have sex with his wives and with these slave girls: “The believers must (eventually) win through, those who humble themselves in their prayers; who avoid vain talk; who are active in deeds of charity; who abstain from sex, except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess, for (in their case) they are free from blame.” (Qur’an 23:1-6)
The rape of captive women is also sanctioned in Islamic tradition:

So we asked Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him), and he said: It does not matter if you do not do it, for every soul that is to be born up to the Day of Resurrection will be born. (Muslim 3371)
It is also in Islamic law: “When a child or a woman is taken captive, they become slaves by the fact of capture, and the woman’s previous marriage is immediately annulled.” (Umdat al-Salik O9.13)
The Egyptian Sheikh Abu-Ishaq al-Huwayni declared in May 2011 that “we are in the era of jihad,” and that meant Muslims would take slaves. In a subsequent interview he elaborated:
Jihad is only between Muslims and infidels. Spoils, slaves, and prisoners are only to be taken in war between Muslims and infidels. Muslims in the past conquered, invaded, and took over countries. This is agreed to by all scholars—there is no disagreement on this from any of them, from the smallest to the largest, on the issue of taking spoils and prisoners. The prisoners and spoils are distributed among the fighters, which includes men, women, children, wealth, and so on.Around the same time, on May 25, 2011, a female Kuwaiti politician, Salwa al-Mutairi, also spoke out in favor of the Islamic practice of sexual slavery of non-Muslim women, emphasizing that the practice accorded with Islamic law and the parameters of Islamic morality.
When a slave market is erected, which is a market in which are sold slaves and sex-slaves, which are called in the Qur’an by the name milk al-yamin, “that which your right hands possess” [Koran 4:24]. This is a verse from the Qur’an which is still in force, and has not been abrogated. The milk al-yamin are the sex-slaves. You go to the market, look at the sex-slave, and buy her. She becomes like your wife, (but) she doesn’t need a (marriage) contract or a divorce like a free woman, nor does she need a wali. All scholars agree on this point—there is no disagreement from any of them. […] When I want a sex slave, I just go to the market and choose the woman I like and purchase her.
A merchant told me that he would like to have a sex slave. He said he would not be negligent with her, and that Islam permitted this sort of thing. He was speaking the truth. I brought up [this man’s] situation to the muftis in Mecca. I told them that I had a question, since they were men who specialized in what was halal, and what was good, and who loved women. I said, “What is the law of sex slaves?”The savage exploitation of girls and young women is, unfortunately, a cross-cultural phenomenon, but only in Islamic law does it carry divine sanction. Homaidan al-Turki no doubt doesn’t think he did anything wrong in keeping his sex slave — but going to the sex offender’s course that he thinks would feature pictures of scantily-clad women is absolutely out.
The mufti said, “With the law of sex slaves, there must be a Muslim nation at war with a Christian nation, or a nation which is not of the religion, not of the religion of Islam. And there must be prisoners of war.”
“Is this forbidden by Islam?” I asked.
“Absolutely not. Sex slaves are not forbidden by Islam. On the contrary, sex slaves are under a different law than the free woman. The free woman must be completely covered except for her face and hands. But the sex slave can be naked from the waist up. She differs a lot from the free woman. While the free woman requires a marriage contract, the sex slave does not—she only needs to be purchased by her husband, and that’s it. Therefore the sex slave is different than the free woman.”

A Saudi national who was convicted of keeping his Indonesian maid as a sex slave has refused to attend a mandatory sex offender’s course, arguing that his Muslim beliefs do not allow him to look at pictures of scantily-clad women.
Homaidan al-Turki, 45, was jailed for 28 years in 2006 after his maid claimed she had been forced to work 12 hour days with no break and then locked in a cellar and abused regularly by the Saudi, who was in the US on an academic scholarship with his wife and five children.
Al-Turki’s sentence was reduced in 2011 to eight years-to-life but his parole applications have been repeatedly denied because of his refusal to attend a sex offenders course.
Al-Turki told prison officials in 2013 that the sex offender treatment programme “conflicts with [his] Islamic faith”, according to a letter by the then executive director of the Colorado Department of Corrections, Tom Clements.
His lawyers told the court in the same year that the programme: “would require [him] to look at photos that included women in bathing suits or undergarments as part of the evaluation process”, AP reported.
A Colorado Department of Corrections spokesperson told IBTimes UK: “Our treatment program does not show photos or images of scantily clad women” but that it would involve open discussion and admission of his offenses, which al-Turki has always denied.
Al-Turki’s extremely complex case began in 2004 when he, his wife and the maid – who the family had brought to America from their home in Riyadh – were arrested by US immigration over visa issues. The housekeeper claimed that she had suffered four years of exploitation and abuse by the family, including being sexually abused in a cellar in the al-Turki home.
After a two-and-a-half week trial – where it also emerged that al-Turki was being investigated by the FBI over potential terrorist links – he was convicted and given 28 years for sex offences and unlawful imprisonment. This was reduced to eight years in 2011 with a Colorado judge arguing that the original sentence had been “excessive”.
The case has become a cause célèbre in Saudi Arabia, with Al-Turki’s conviction and subsequent failure in 2013 to persuade the courts to allow him to serve his sentence at home garnering major media coverage.
As well as the refusal to take the mandatory treatment, prosecutors argued that there was no guarantee that the Saudi authorities would not release al-Turki as soon as he landed in Riyadh.
A hashtag in Arabic featuring al-Turki’s name had got over 900 thousands tweets by Thursday, and prominent media figures had made statements calling for his release.
Many Saudis consider al-Turki’s conviction to be politically motivated and that his original jailing was the product of anti-Muslim bias in the wake of the September 11 attacks. They point to his original investigation on terrorism charges as evidence that the US government wanted to frame al-Turki anyway it could.
Abdullah al-Mudaifer, a TV presenter at Rotana in Riyadh, said: “The majority of people in Saudi Arabia believe he has been subject to fabricated charges. Even those who believe he is guilty suggest that 28 years [the length of his initial charge] is long for this kind of conviction.

Registered sex offender Basam Syed, busted Tuesday for pressing against a straphanger’s backside on an East Side subway, was somehow free despite 28 prior arrests — including four while on probation for a 2014 sex crime.
But his mom insisted Friday that her oft-arrested offspring is only looking for the right woman. “It’s not easy to find a wife and have kids,” she declared outside their Queens home. “She has to be a Pakistani. She has to be a Muslim girl.”
Syed, 35, was arrested after the grinding incident on a northbound No. 4 train. One year ago, he was found guilty of rubbing his genitals against the buttocks of another woman riding the No. 6 train.
His other arrests run the gamut from drug charges to burglary to tongue-kissing a 4-year-old boy.

“Exclusive: Disturbing Islamic Graffiti Found in Texas,” Hannity.com, May 11, 2015 (thanks to Creeping Sharia):In the wake of the failed Garland, Texas terror attack, photographs have emerged of some disturbing graffiti found near a rest stop in Scurry County.
The photographs, sent to Hannity.com by a Hannity Radio Show listener reveal graffiti on a cement block which reads, “Allah Akbar, LBK TX.” Also included in the graffiti is an image that appears to be a drawing of a bomb. LBK is an acronym for Lubbock, TX.
It is unknown whether the graffiti was painted before or after the Garland terror attempt. Garland is approximately 280 miles from Scurry County and Lubbock is approximately 87 miles from where the graffiti appeared.
Captain David Turner of the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Department told Hannity.com that their Special Operations Division is aware of the graffiti and has forwarded the information to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) which has jurisdiction in both Scurry and Lubbock counties….
HACKENSACK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — The FBI has targeted Bergen County, New Jersey to stop Islamic State militants from getting a stronghold there – and agents have been going to high school with a message.
Christine Sloan was there when agents visited a Bergen County school on Tuesday. An FBI intelligence analyst who did not wish to be identified spoke at the Bergen Arts and Science Charter School in Hackensack.
He warned students about a new threat – a sophisticated recruitment video trying to lure them into joining the terrorist group ISIS.
“There’s a role for everybody. Every person can contribute to the Islamic State,” a young Canadian man tells viewers in the recruitment video. “You can even come here and rebuild.”
“It definitely was eye-opening,” said high school senior Zoey Zibor. “You know, you learn that it’s in your own backyard. It’s Americans citizens wanting to join these terrorist groups.”
The young Canadian who appears in the recruitment video ended up dying while fighting as a member of ISIS in Syria.
“It’s definitely a bad thing,” said senior Basik Gorkem.
The Bergen County school was one of many the FBI has come to with its alarming message – regular American kids could be vulnerable to this kind of propaganda.
“It was videos and all social media that no one is really that aware of what’s happening; how deep they go into Facebook and Twitter now,” said senior Aaron Brunert.

Feds: Two Minnesota Muslims Used Their Federal Student Loans To Join The Islamic State…

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two of the Twin Cities men accused of trying to join ISIS are now charged with student loan fraud.
Investigators say both Hamza Ahmed, 19, and Hanad Musse, 19, used more than $1,000 from federal student loan accounts for plane tickets to Turkey and Greece. Prosecutors say they were really going to Syria to join ISIS.
On Tuesday, prosecutors combined two separate cases, meaning that seven young Minnesota friends will eventually be tried together for allegedly trying to join the terror group.
Prosecutors combined the case of Ahmed, who was arrested and charged in February, with that of six young men who were arrested in April.
Prosecutors say Ahmed’s arrest should have served as a warning to the others.
The initials of some of those who were arrested in April appear in the Ahmed complaint.
Also on Tuesday, Abdurahman Daud, one of the two members of the group who the government says went to California to pick up fake passports, made his first court appearance in Minnesota.
Supporters of the young men argue that the fake passports were the idea of a confidential informant, and that all of the men are victims of government entrapment.
The informant was a close friend of all of the accused. Prosecutors say the informant was once part of the plot and at one point tried to join ISIS, too.
FBI Arrests Two In Los Angeles On Terrorism Charges For Trying To Join ISIS
The FBI arrested two men in Southern California, including one at Los Angeles International Airport, on suspicion of terrorism related charges, law enforcement officials told NBC News.
The two men, who were unarmed, are suspected of planning to travel abroad to join ISIS, sources said. One man was arrested at LAX, the other in Orange County.
There was never any local public safety threat, sources told NBC news.
The FBI, in connection with the joint terrorism task force, also served at least two search warrants in connection with the case.
Like a number of recent cases, the sources said the unarmed suspects fit a pattern of individuals who have been recruited by ISIS as foreign fighters, particularly through social media propaganda.

Kashif Parvaiz, from New York City, was on a walk with his wife, Nazish Noorani, 27, and their two-year-old son in Boonton, New Jersey, in August 2011 when Noorani was fatally shot in the chest.
After the killing, Parvaiz – who sustained a wound to his leg – claimed his family had been targeted in an anti-Muslim attack. But his lies unraveled when his mistress admitted to her role in the crime.
Antoinette Stephen, from Billerica, Massachusetts, pleaded guilty to murder in May 2013. She then testified against her boyfriend, claiming the father-of-two had plotted with her to shoot dead Noorani.

Cops are hunting for a “career criminal” who bashed a gay couple over the head with a chair at a Chelsea barbecue joint, officials said Tuesday.
Police said Bayna El-Amin, 41, was wanted in connection with the May 5 beating at the Dallas BBQ at 261 8th Ave.
Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said El-Amin is believed to be on the run.
“He is a career criminal,” Boyce said. “We believe he has fled the state.”
Video from the eatery shows a man smash a wooden chair over a gay couple, knocking them both to the ground.

There is no reason to believe that Ohio is special or unique in this. It just happens that a couple of jihadis in Ohio have recently been caught. They are elsewhere as well, but most Americans have no clue about that, and even the FBI, with its official policy of ignoring and denying the ideology that gives rise to this, is not doing nearly enough to prepare citizens for what is coming.

Angela Byers became special agent in charge of the office that covers 48 of Ohio’s 88 counties in late February, just after back-to-back arrests of young men in Cincinnati and Columbus in separate cases alleging they were plotting attacks in the United States. Both have pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Byers told The Associated Press in an interview she was surprised at the threat level in Ohio, and she suspects many people in the Midwest don’t realize that “violent extremists” can pop up anywhere.
“It’s scary. And it’s scary to us. I’m not sure the general public quite gets the gravity of it,” she said.
She said counterterrorism efforts are ongoing in her office, although she couldn’t comment on any possible other cases.
“It seems like once we get one guy, another guy pops up high on the radar,” she said. “We just keep moving from one to the next.”
The cases that broke this year in her division were the arrests of Christopher Lee Cornell, of suburban Cincinnati, on charges he planned to attack the U.S. Capitol, and Abdirahman Sheik Mohamud, 23, of Columbus, accused of planning to attack a military base or prison after returning from terrorist training in Syria.
Mark Ensalaco, the director of human rights research at the University of Dayton, who has written about Middle East terrorism and the Sept. 11 attacks, said trying to detect homegrown “lone wolves” before they act is “a nightmare for national security.” But he said use of confidential informants and federal electronic surveillance can raise concerns about protecting citizens’ rights.
Byers said she knows people are worried about privacy, but said the FBI has legal parameters to meet before it would monitor suspected “bad guys.” Electronic surveillance also has limitations because of the extremists’ use of secure and encrypted communication channels.
“So it’s more important than ever now for us to get cooperation from the public,” she said, adding that family and friends are more able to recognize changes in behavior, adopting of radical views and support for terrorist groups and acts

The Supreme Court ruled against the retailer Abercrombie & Fitch, 8-1, deciding that the company’s failure to accommodate a job applicant who wore a hijab violated civil rights law.
The clothing chain declined to hire Samantha Elauf in 2008 as a sales associate because her hijab violated the company’s “look policy,” which at the time prohibited employees from wearing head coverings. Elauf was never informed of the “look policy.” Elauf filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed suit against Abercrombie, prompting the retailer to deny its policy was discriminatory because its ban prohibited all types of headgear and therefore was not based on religion. (Abercrombie has since changed its “look policy” to allow for headgear, including hijabs, which are a type of headscarf.)
Abercrombie also argued that it was up to Elauf to request accommodation. Under Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, employers must provide “reasonable accommodation without undue hardship.” The question before the court was whether the employer bore responsibility to provide that accommodation even when the employee — or in this case, prospective employee — did not ask for one. The high court ruled that it did, reversing a decision from the Tenth Circuit.
The dreaded Diet Coke of Islamophobia

There is just so much that doesn’t ring true about this latest round of “Flying While Muslim” grievance theater.
In the first place, what is this about requesting an unopened can for “hygienic reasons”? The mainstream media, of course, never asks Tahera Ahmad what she means by that. What’s unhygienic about getting a can of soda that has just been opened? Could it be that Ahmad found it objectionable to receive a can of soda opened by najis (unclean, cf. Qur’an 9:28 ) infidel hands?
And then there’s the passenger sitting across the aisle from her and telling her, “You Moslem, you need to shut the F** up.” Where are the passengers corroborating the words of this shouting lout? Someone must have heard him, but he sounds to me as if he was sent over from Islamophobia Central Casting, straight from the fever dreams of Hamas-linked CAIR and the like.
Finally, there is the most unbelievable aspect of her whole story — a part of it that is never mentioned by the mainstream media: “The pilot also apologized for everything that happened and said that as a white male he recognized his privilege…” Come on. Who talks like that, outside of Salon.com’s offices?
Anyway, given today’s political climate, Tahera Ahmad will probably get millions out of United, and no flight attendant will ever dare open a Muslim’s can again.

After a Muslim woman accused the crew of a United Airlines flight of discrimination, the company has apologized for what it called a “misunderstanding.”
The passenger said a United attendant on the flight from Chicago to Washington on Friday refused to give her an unopened can of coke, allegedly telling her it could be used “as a weapon.”
“The flight attendant brought over an open can of diet soda, so I requested, for hygienic reasons, a closed can of diet soda,” Tahera Ahmad, a chaplain at Northwestern University, told ABC’s Chicago station WLS on Sunday. “And so she said, ‘Well, no one has consumed from this can.’ And I said, ‘That’s fine but I would really prefer for hygienic reasons and health concerns.’ … She said, ‘Well, it is against our policy to give people unopened canned beverages.'”
“And then she said, ‘No diet coke for you,’ and she picked up the beverage from my tray table and took it back,” she said.
Ahmad said the same flight attendant then served an unopened can of beer to another passenger.
When she confronted the attendant, “She said it is against our policy to give people unopened can beverages because they may use it as a weapon.”
“So I said, ‘Well I think that’s strange because you’re discriminating against me because clearly you gave the passenger next to me an unopened beverage can.’ And so she looked at that, picked it up, opened it and put it back. And as she was putting it back she said, ‘It’s because you would use it as a weapon.'”
“At that point I was in utter shock,” she told WLS. “I was almost tearing up.”
Ahmad said she then asked the other passengers, “Did you all just witness this discrimination?” and she claims another passenger muttered “you Muslim” and told her to shut up.
“And he said, ‘You know you would use it as a weapon,'” Ahmad recounted.
“I just couldn’t believe what he had said,” Ahmad said. “I was in tears.”
The attendant apologized after the flight, Ahmad said, but she told the attendant that her actions made her feel “very threatened.”
“I was the one who felt very unsafe,” Ahmad said.
United Airlines said today in a statement to ABC News: “United is a company that strongly supports diversity and inclusion, and we and our partners do not discriminate against our employees or customers. The flight attendant onboard Shuttle America flight 3504 attempted several times to accommodate Ms. Ahmad’s beverage request after a misunderstanding regarding a can of diet soda.”…
Diet Coke Muslima has ties to Hamas-linked Muslim Brotherhood groups

What is behind her bogus claim of “Islamophobic” victimhood begins to come clear in this context. “‘Diet Coke’ Muslim Discrimination Passenger Has Ties to Radical Imams,” by Jordan Schachtel, Breitbart, June 1, 2015:
A Muslim woman who claimed over the weekend–in a social media post that has since gone viral–that United Airlines discriminated against her because of her faith, has a history rife with deep connections to the Muslim Brotherhood and radical Imams.
31-year-old Tahera Ahmad, who serves as the Muslim chaplain at Northwestern University, claimed over the weekend that she was discriminated against because a United Airlines flight attendant allegedly refused to give her a full can of unopened Diet Coke. When asked for an explanation as to why she had been refused her unopened Diet Coke, the flight attendant allegedly told her that the Coke can could be used as a “weapon on the plane,” Ahmad stated in a Facebook post. After she complained, a passenger told her, “You Moslem you need to shut the f—k up,” according to Ahmad’s recounting of what happened on board. Ahmad’s Facebook page was taken down this afternoon.
Without any evidence (but for her firsthand account) that the incident ever occurred, many in the mainstream media have taken to reporting on Ahmad’s account as a case of “Islamophobia.”
Islamic supremacist groups such as CAIR (Council on American-Islamic relations) have condemned United, telling Al Jazeera that they have taken an interest in filing a lawsuit on behalf of Ahmad.
Ahmad’s claims of discrimination have not been corroborated by any passengers, and United Airlines rejects that any wrongdoing or acts of discrimination occurred.
United Airlines released a statement that the flight attendant “attempted several times to accommodate Ms. Ahmad’s beverage request.” However, her post has since gone viral, with many calling for a boycott of United Airlines due to its alleged mistreatment of Ahmad.
Ahmad has shown to have an affinity for radical Islamist groups that seek to employ deceptive tactics in order to advance Sharia law, Breitbart News has found. Ahmad has attended and participated in multiple conferences over the past couple years which were hosted by alleged Muslim Brotherhood front groups. She has also proudly written about, and has happily posed in photos with radical Imams.
In late December, Ahmad attended the MAS-ICNA (Muslim American Society- Islamic Circle of North America) conference, which featured prominent leaders within the global Muslim Brotherhood network.
One month earlier, Ahmad posted a picture to Facebook of her standing next to Suhaib Webb, who is the Imam of the Islamic Society of Boston, an outfit run under the same umbrella organization as the mosque attended by Boston Marathon bombers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, and a plethora of other convicted terrorists. Webb has a demonstrated history of radical connections, including him being a close confidant of Al Qaeda mastermind Anwar al Awlaki prior to the 9/11 attacks.
Ahmad is “well-known” to Yasir Qadhi, a cleric who she has frequently invited to speak to the student body at Northwestern. An audio tape of one of Qadhi’s sermons revealed that he once called for Muslims to wage holy war against non-Muslims. During his speech, Qadhi went on to discuss how he did not believe that the Holocaust had ever occurred.
In April 2014, Ahmad joined an MPAC (Muslim Public Affairs Council) delegation of American Muslim women, who partnered with the White House “to host a historic forum recognizing the contributions of American Muslim women.” MPAC, like the MAS and ICNA, was originally founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood. The group has in the past endorsed a paper that rejects the designations of Hamas and Hezbollah as terrorist organizations. In 2009, the group hosted a protest where demonstrators called for the annihilation of the State of Israel.
In 2013, she recited the Quran at the annual ISNA (Islamic Society of North America) convention. Declassified FBI documents found that the Bureau regarded ISNA as a Muslim Brotherhood front group. The FBI also found that ISNA was founded by prominent members of the global Muslim Brotherhood organization. Ahmad’s bio states that she has “supported leadership for premier Muslim organizations including [ISNA].”
Although she has an extensive record of supporting radical Islamist groups, Ahmad was recognized by the Obama White House as a leading “Muslim female in the United States,” according to a release from her University. She is a frequent Ramadan dinner attendee at the White House, according to the report.

Minnesota Muslims brutally honest: 'We want Shariah'
Street interviews capture on video anti-American, anti-1st Amendment views

The Cedar Riverside section of Minneapolis is home to the University of Minnesota, some tasty ethnic foods and brutally cold winters. It’s also a known hotbed of Islamic terror recruitment.
Al-Shabab, the Islamist group based in Somalia, has had a field day there over the past six or seven years.
Dozens of young Muslims have left the streets of Cedar Riverside, referred to by some Minnesotans as “Little Mogadishu” for its high concentration of Somali refugees, to travel abroad and fight for terrorist groups. Some have joined Somalia’s notorious al-Shabab, which slaughtered 147 Christians at a university in Kenya last month, while others have opted for ISIS in Syria. Their goal is the same – to join their brothers in the fight to establish a Shariah-compliant utopia known as a caliphate.
But one would expect those who walk the streets of this quiet neighborhood to be a bit less fanatical in their views, right?
Let the questions begin
On Friday a camera crew with the David Horowitz Freedom Center released a video posted to Robert Spencer’s blog, Jihad Watch, in which documentary filmmaker Ami Horowitz captures Somali men and women on the streets of Cedar Riverside answering simple questions.
Their answers to questions about Islamic law, American law and issues of peace and freedom were revealing.
Several of the Muslim men told the interviewer it was “easy” to be Muslim in America. They said persecution was non-existent. They’re free to worship as they please.
One Somali-American stood out from the rest.
“This is a free country; that’s the beauty of it. We love America, it’s a great country, freedom of choice, freedom of religion, so we don’t have any issues,” said the neatly dressed man with a sport coat and tie.
Things devolved from there.
One young man with dark sunglasses and a big smile, followed by another in a plaid dress shirt, and another with long hair stuffed under a Brooklyn Nets baseball cap, all said they would prefer to live under Islamic law rather than American law.
“I’m a Muslim. I prefer Shariah law,” the man in the dress shirt said.
“Shariah law, yes,” said another.
“Of course, yeah,” said the one in the Nets baseball cap.
Asked if most of his friends felt the same way, he responded, “Of course if you’re a Muslim, yeah.”
A woman wearing a pink hijab and traditional dress was asked if it’s OK for a father to make his young daughter marry a man of his choice.
“Yeah, yeah, he can, he can. He has the authority, you know, yeah, to do that.”
“How young do you think it is OK?” the interviewer asked.
“Ah, yeah, 15,” she answered.
The youngest person interviewed, a boy who appeared no more than 14 or 15, said it was easy to be a Muslim in his local school. He said he did not experience any persecution being a Muslim in Minneapolis.
He said he would prefer Shariah, however, because it was a much “tighter” society and, therefore, less prone to crime.
“Shariah law, it says that if you steal something, they cut off your hand,” the boy said, making a cutting motion with one hand against the other. “So, basically, they can leave their doors open. Nobody’s going to steal anything because Shariah is so tight. Usually, they don’t do anything. The smallest things usually have big consequences.
Blaspheming the ‘prophet’
Then the questions turned to Islamic blasphemy laws and the controversy with people depicting the Muslim “prophet” Muhammad in cartoons.
“How does that whole thing make you feel?” the interviewer asked.
“That really pisses me off, you know what I mean. I mean, they know it is a button to push,” said the young man in the baseball cap.
“It makes me angry,” said the man in the sunglasses. “Everyone gets like the big freedom. And then, they don’t see that, the freedom that they’re getting is causing a problem. And causing hatreds for other people.”
Would it be better if we made it illegal in America to make fun of the prophet Muhammad?
“Definitely yeah,” he said.
“So in a way, they kind of deserve whatever happens to them?” he is asked.
“Yeah, yeah, every action has a consequence,” the young man in the ball cap said.
“Do you think we should make a law that makes it illegal?”
“That would be better, yeah, that would be better,” said the man in the plaid dress shirt. “To stop, you know, aggression.”
‘I was so upset, so mad’
Then came another Somali man with a beard and a jacket. He was more animated than the others.
“I was so upset, and I was so mad. They insulted our religion. They insulted our prophet, and we couldn’t take it,” he said, shaking his fist and flailing his arms.
“And you shouldn’t be allowed to do that?” the interviewer asked.
“Oh my God, big time, yes!” he answered.
They were then asked if they understood the motivation of people who struck back violently against such depictions of the prophet.
“Yeah, I understand totally where they’re coming from, yeah,” said the young man in the ball cap.
‘Is it right to kill someone who insults the prophet?’
“Yes,” said the bearded man with the animated personality. “Because when you, every day you face frustration. And you know, every day you have, uh, you’re mad, or somebody says that, and you feel hate your soul. You could do anything you wanted. If you committed suicide, you don’t care, because your heart, your heart is telling you, ‘I don’t want to live no more,’ because you couldn’t take that much hate. Or you, you kill someone.”
The interviewer got even more pointed with a reference to Pamela Geller, who hosted the cartoon contest in Garland, Texas, earlier this month that was attacked by two Muslim men.
“Is it right to kill someone who insults Muhammad?”
“Yeah,” said the woman in the pink hijab. “Because she is just, she had her religion, I understand, but she shouldn’t pick on the prophet, you know.”
“So you understand why people would want to attack her?”
“Yeah,” the woman stated.
Would you rather live in America or Somalia?
The interviewer asked one final question: If they had a choice, would the Somalis rather live in America or back in Somalia?
“I’d rather to live in a Muslim country with my people,” the young man with the Brooklyn Nets cap said without hesitation. “I’m not Americanized. I just speak fluent (English) and I’m articulate, and I can articulate what I’m trying to say. That’s about it. But as far as that my culture and my preferences and everything, it’s still Somali, you know what I mean?”
“I would rather live in Somalia,” said the man in the sunglasses.
“For me, I think Somalia,” said the woman in the pink hijab.
‘We have a terror recruitment problem in Minnesota’
U.S. Attorney for Minnesota Andrew Luger, at April press conference said Minnesota “has a terror recruitment problem” involving the local Somali population but didn’t say how the Somalis got to Minnesota.
The U.S. State Department has distributed about 100,000 Somali Muslims into cities across America since 1991 as part of its refugee resettlement program. In Minnesota, the resettlements, paid for with U.S. tax dollars, have been carried out by Lutheran Social Services, Catholic Charities and World Relief under contract with the federal government.
Andrew Luger, the U.S. attorney for Minnesota, admitted last month following the arrests of six Somali men from his state on charges that they repeatedly tried to book and board flights to join up with ISIS in Turkey and Syria, “We have a terror recruitment problem in Minnesota.”
But in the eyes of some Somalis in Minneapolis, it’s clearly not terrorism to kill someone for criticizing their prophet. It’s just part of being Muslim.
They are taking serious the advice of Omar Ahmad, founder of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR. Speaking before a packed crowd at the Flamingo Palace on Peralta Boulevard in Fremont, California, in 1998, he urged American Muslims not to shirk their duty of sharing the Islamic faith with those who are “on the wrong side.”
WND reported in 2003 that the newspaper reporter who covered the CAIR event that night, Lisa Gardiner, paraphrased Ahmad’s message by writing, “Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith but to become dominant.”
Gardiner’s article, appearing in the Argus of Fremont, stands to this day as one of the most stark displays of Islamist intentions by CAIR, whose leaders typically choose their words more carefully when they know a reporter is present.
Muslim institutions, schools and economic power should be strengthened in America, Ahmad said. Those who stay in America should be “open to society without melting (into it),” keeping mosques open so anyone can come and learn about Islam, he said.
“If you choose to live here (in America) … you have a responsibility to deliver the message of Islam,” he told the Muslim crowd.
The Quran, the Muslim holy book, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth, he said.

US Embassy Moves Its “Go Green” Independence Day Celebration to June 4th Out of Respect for Ramadan

The US Embassy in Indonesia moved Independence Day to June 4th out of respect for the Muslim holiday of Ramadan.
The Jakarta Post reported, via Jihad Watch:
The United States Embassy enjoyed its annual 4th of July celebration on Thursday, June 4, one month early, in order to respect the upcoming Ramadhan month, which will begin on June 17 and last for one month.
US Ambassador to Indonesia Robert O. Blake and US Ambassador to ASEAN Nina Hachigian presided over the festivities, which involved brass band renditions of the Star-Spangled Banner and the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya.
Blake explained that the theme of the event leaned toward “green” development, which supported the US’ focus on building and promoting a green economy and more environmentally sustainable development.
He also praised Indonesia’s performance as a fully functioning democracy, aiming for further collaboration between the two countries in the years to come.
“The US will continue to support Indonesia in the future through its democratic achievements. Democracy is an American value which we have championed since [the country’s birth in] 1776,” Blake told the crowd during the festivities at his residence near Taman Suropati, Central Jakarta, on Thursday.
He added that moving the 4th of July celebrations to June 4 was one done out of respect for the upcoming Ramadhan month, which will last from June 17 to July 17.

Friends, my fellow Americans, welcome to America’s Independence Day celebration!
We are celebrating a month early to respect the holy month of Ramadan, but today we remember the revolutionary Congress meeting on July 4, 1776 in Philadelphia that issued America’s “Declaration of Independence” that changed the course of modern history.
Pledging their “lives, . . . fortunes and . . . sacred honor,” they defiantly declared, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
America’s founders were great because they succeeded in harnessing one of the most powerful forces in history — democracy and self-government. No force has done more to improve quality of life, guarantee peace, and spread prosperity.
We Americans believe that democracy and freedom enable prosperity and security on people. But democracy is not a one-time achievement. We must continue to strive to create a more perfect democracy that will safeguard our freedoms.
What makes tonight’s celebration all the more meaningful is that the rights we celebrate are not America’s alone. All people, everywhere, are endowed by their creator with those same unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
I am honored to serve as the American Ambassador to Indonesia and to witness first-hand the fruits of Indonesia’s successful pursuit of those rights. Indonesia’s remarkable democratic transformation since 1998 in particular has attracted the world’s recognition and respect.
And as we endeavor to guarantee the rights of all of our citizens — the right to speak, the right to assemble, the right to worship, to name a few — we are confident that our shared commitment to freedom and democracy will benefit both our peoples and strengthen the ties between our countries.

By BI: ‘Holy Islamville’ is an all-Muslim enclave in South Carolina, long suspected of being one of the 22 Islamic jihadist training camps around America. But the FBI and the York County Sheriff’s Office apparently thought it more important to reassure Muslim worshipers from the Islamic town of their protections under the law, and discussed ways to rat out any ‘suspicious’ activities of their non-Muslim neighbors, who live in constant fear that Islamic terrorists are being trained in their own backyards.
The State Sayeed Shakir, mayor of Islamville, said Tuesday’s discussion was part of a working relationship their community has with the FBI to help foster relationships and outreach with the larger York County community.
Special Agent Devon Mahoney explained that the FBI only gets involved in cases involving a violation of federal law. As an example, he cited the designation of the Charleston church shooting as a hate crime.
“That type of crime is an FBI crime,” he said. “If you’re out at the store or out in Rock Hill and someone assaults you because of your religion, that would be something the FBI would be concerned with, and we would get involved.”

Muslims of the Americas, led by Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani in Pakistan, is a very similar group with very similar aims, though its focus is more rural than urban. It admits to owning at least 22 “villages” around the country that are dozens of acres large and operate under names like “Islamberg,” “Holy Islamville,” and “Aliville.” These Muslim-only lands are open to outsiders solely during planned outreach events and sometimes to journalists.
This group has received considerable media attention due to allegations that its isolated compounds are used for paramilitary training, an accusation bolstered by a videotape released by the Christian Action Network. On that tape, a speaker is seen declaring the U.S. a Muslim country and pledging that Muslims of the Americas will defend American Muslims from foreign and domestic enemies.
Several people in attendance Tuesday said they’ve noticed instances of hostility toward Muslims increasing. “Recently now, it’s heightened,” one woman said. “It’s all the time now, we go out and about and somebody is going to either say something, give us the finger, yell something out the window or even corner you in Wal-Mart and give you that, ‘Yeah, just try it’ look.”
Detective Bob Hamilton of the York County Sheriff’s Office said they want people to report all incidents, even those that don’t seem major. Information such as tag numbers or descriptions of the person or vehicle can help investigators.
“That gives me an idea of who may be a problem later,” Hamilton said. “And if something does come up that is major, I go back in my file and see who was causing problems initially and then go out and talk with them.”
Mahoney said people who commit crimes usually go through a progression before their activity becomes criminal. That’s why, he said, it’s important to report even the small things.
“Someone just doesn’t wake up one morning and commit a crime,” he said. “Usually something happens and it gets worse and worse, and it builds up to them actually doing something bad.
If you have a car that comes by once and we don’t know about it, then it comes by twice and we don’t know about it, then three times and we don’t know about it – if we knew about that first time, Bob and I can do some investigation and look at this person’s background. This is someone who maybe has a criminal history of violence.”
Muslim militias around America also train female jihadists
Jacqueline Shakir said people too often align all Muslims with the extremists seen in news reports who carry out violent acts – purportedly in the name of Islam.
“Other people who say they are Muslim, they’re just murdering things,” she said. “They look at us like it’s us. After today, doors are opened for us to hopefully resolve some of these issues.”
