A news crew in Albany, New York, was filming for a seemingly innocuous report about a historical site and just so happened to have a recently closed correctional facility in its background. What happened next had the reporter, videographer and others wondering what the big deal was.
WNYT-TV was on Mount McGregor filming near an empty correctional facility Thursday for a story about Grant Cottage, which is where President Ulysses S. Grant died of throat cancer 129 years ago.
The news channel shot footage of a re-enactment Wednesday and went back the next day for some more video. What happened when the crew was on the state property for this second time was all caught on camera with Mount McGregor prison in the background.



“No filming,” a corrections officer, who identified himself as Lt. Dorn and would not give his first name, told WNYT reporter Mark Mulholland.


“We’re doing a story on Grant’s Cottage,” Mulholland responded.
The officer then alleged that Mulholland and his crew were not up there to film for Grant’s anniversary but for “different purposes.” He told them that they would have to leave the mountain all together and not switch locations to Grant Cottage as Mulholland proposed instead.
“You’re telling us we can’t visit a historic site?” Mulholland said.
“No, you’re going to have to run that through Albany,” the officer responded, noting that they could visit but not film at Grant Cottage.
Mulholland and the film crew tried to take their equipment to the historic site instead but were met by another corrections officer who blocked their access.



“Ironically, once there, we noticed a film crew, presumably filming a movie, on the grounds of the closed prison,” Mulholland said.

The official Ebola death toll is now at 932 with over 1,700 reported cases but as the WHO reports, in the last 48 hours, deaths and cases have exploded (48 and 108 respectively). What is perhaps most worrisome is, while playing down the threat in Nigeria (most especially Lagos – which the CDC Director is “deeply concerned” about), officials have formally asked the US for the experimental Ebola drug, which suggest things are far worse than the 3 deaths reported so far in Nigeria would suggest. Finally, as we warned yesterday, Saudi Arabia is suffering too as the main who was hospitalized yesterday with symptoms has died – the first reported casualty in the Arab world.

A Saudi man, who was hospitalized for suspected Ebola infection, died on Wednesday.

The man, in his 40s, had returned recently to Jeddah from a business trip to Sierra Leone, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday. He was admitted to hospital on Monday and showed symptoms of Ebola virus infection.

His death marks the first reported casualty of the Ebola epidemic in the Arab world and comes as an emergency World Health Organization summit was being held in Geneva to discuss measures to tackle the epidemic.

California Police Department Ordered to Get Rid of MRAP Military Vehicle

In the aftermath of unrest in Ferguson, Missouri, Davis City Council has ordered its police department to get rid of an MRAP military vehicle within 60 days.

The $700,000 dollar vehicle was acquired for free just a few weeks ago through the U.S. military surplus program that has seen police departments across America obtain vehicles and equipment that were formerly used by the Army to occupy towns and hunt insurgents.

However, after numerous complaints and protests by residents, Davis City Council has given its police department two months to either destroy or otherwise remove from operation the mine resistant ambush vehicle.

“My understanding is that these vehicles were designed to help reduce casualties and fatalities among our military personnel in places like Iraq and Afghanistan where they were being blown up by mines and being ambushed… I don’t think these things are happening very often in Davis,” said one resident during the public forum, which was attended by a large crowd of demonstrators.

Police Chief Landry Black asserted that there was a “legitimate need” for the vehicle in order to protect officers from high powered weapons, but residents fear the MRAP will be used to quell dissent.

During riots and looting in Ferguson earlier this month, numerous concerns were expressed about how the militarization of police departments only served to escalate tensions, with numerous instances of cops pointing guns at protesters and journalists stoking controversy.

However, not everybody is against the idea of police using military vehicles and equipment to face down American citizens. During the height of the Ferguson unrest, MSNBC host Ed Schultz opinedthat such gear was needed to deal with “anti-government” groups.

Earlier this month, former Marine Paul Szoldra warned that scenes in Ferguson illustrated the “terrifying” result of the militarization of police, with the American people now being treated like insurgents in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Former Marine Corps Colonel Peter Martino, who was stationed in Fallujah and trained Iraqi soldiers, warned last year that the Department of Homeland Security is working with law enforcement to build a “domestic army,” because the federal government is afraid of its own citizens.

Martino was speaking at a council meeting concerning a decision to purchase a BearCat armored vehicle. The purchase of the vehicle was mired in controversy after the city’s Police Chief wrote in an application filing to the DHS that the vehicle was needed to deal with the “threat” posed by libertarians, sovereign citizen adherents, and Occupy activists in the region.

Law enforcement groups argue a Pentagon program that provides surplus military gear helps protect the public and are gearing up for a fight with lawmakers and the Obama administration over whether it should be continued.
“We are the most vigorous law enforcement advocacy group and we intend to be at our most vigorous on this issue,” said Jim Pasco, the executive director of the Fraternal Order of Police, the largest police organization in the country.
The Fraternal Order and other groups told The Hill that they are already meeting with lawmakers’ offices in an attempt to get a jump on the issue before Congress returns from the August recess.

Cops’ filming goes bad: Crew member gunned down by Omaha police

An employee working for the television show “Cops” was shot and killed by police in Omaha, Nebraska, as they responded to an armed robbery at a local restaurant. The suspected burglar was also killed.
Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer said “Cops” crew member Bryce Dion, 38, was shot once when a shootout broke open between law enforcement and a suspected robber. Dion was one of the TV show’s workers accompanying police when they arrived at a Wendy’s fast-food restaurant, where the suspect reportedly fired on police.
The suspect, 32-year-old Cortez Washington was in possession of an airsoft gun as the situation unfolded. According to local WCVB News, witnesses and officers believed the gun – which looks real but only fires plastic pellets – was a legitimate weapon. When police struck Washington, he attempted to escape the restaurant, and police continued firing in his direction.
At this point, Dion was caught in the crossfire and was fatally shot. He had been working with Omaha police on the show – which follows police in real-time – since June, and is believed to be the first employee to be killed on the job in the series’ history.

Cop Points Gun, Threatens to Kill Citizen in Response to Cell Phone Recording

A Florida police officer pointed a gun at a man and threatened to kill him after another was slammed to the ground and handcuffed for recording an officer on his cell phone during a confrontation in Boynton Beach.

The footage begins with an officer having a conversation with a group of men in a parked car after a routine traffic stop. When the cop demands to see everybody’s ID, one of the men informs the officer that he is recording the encounter.

“Turn that phone off right now,” states the officer, to which the man responds, “No I’m not intimidated, I have rights, sir, I’m recording your ass,” before unleashing a string of profanities.

The officer then walks around to the other side of the car and gives his badge number but refuses to provide his name, which according to one of the men in the car is “Danish.”

“What’s your name sir?” asks one of the men, before the cop swats the cell phone out of his hand and drags him out of the car, throwing him to the ground.

Another officer then arrives with his gun drawn before stating, “I’ll fucking, I’ll put a round in your ass so quick.” The cop then opens the passenger door with his gun drawn and the video ends.

The incident happened last year but only began receiving attention earlier this week when Boynton Beach Police Chief Jeffrey Katz took to YouTube to defend the actions of his officers.

According to Katz, the men in the car were “escalating” the situation by “recording the interaction.” The officer’s actions were justified because one of the men “reached out of his window with a black object in his hand” (a cell phone). Katz also cited a “violent home invasion robbery” that had occurred within a 2 mile radius as justification for the hostile response to the men in the car.

Although the men in the car were foul-mouthed, they could hardly be described to have been acting in an aggressive manner.

Katz asserted that the men were deemed a threat because they weren’t displaying an appropriate level of “fear” towards the officers, stating, “When I watch this video, I don’t see a car full of young men who are behaving in a manner consistent with fear of the police.”

The men had apparently done nothing to arouse suspicion in the first place apart from ‘driving while black’.

As Carlos Miller explains, “That’s what it really boils down to in this video. Contempt of cop….The young, black men in this video not only questioned their authority, one of men turned up the attitude after a cop ordered him to stop recording.”

Miller notes that the Boynton Beach Police Department have arrested several people before for nothing more than filming officers with cell phones.

The Police and the People Should be Equally Armed

How many times have you heard pro-gun control advocates say if an American should be able to possess military style weapons (or “assault rifles” for our less educated readers) like the AR-15, then what about napalm, hand grenades, or even nuclear weapons. This logic is beyond infuriating. There is a simple truth. American should be armed the same way that the police are armed. Once and for all, let’s put to bed this stupid argument with facts (not that facts have ever been important to gun grabbers).


The reason that the American people should be able to possess the same firepower as the police has everything to do with the function of law enforcement and the function of the military. On one hand, the military is used to defend this nation from foreign aggression which often times requires extreme firepower up to and including nuclear weapons. The military’s sole purpose is to protect us from governments who are resourced to such an extent that they would be able to literally wipe this nation off the face of the planet. Our armed forces should be well armed and we expect them to be well armed. On the other hand, law enforcement’s sole purpose is to protect the life, liberty, and property of the people of this nation. They are not fighting a foreign invasion nor are they fighting against a force with the capabilities of foreign nations. In a sense, they are fighting “us” even if “us” includes some of the dregs of our society.

No matter what some police officers and our government would like you to think, law enforcement agencies are part of our society. The police that work the streets live in our communities and are paid by us to serve us. It only goes to logic to think that if the police are supposed to serve the people of their communities that the people of their communities should be able to be armed in the exact same way as the police. The police are citizens of our communities and are subject to the same laws as the people. Why should our government trust law enforcement more than the people of the United States. I am NOT saying that everyone should have the ability to carry firearms if they have shown themselves to be unfit to do so (such as felons, committed mental patients, etc.), but law abiding citizens that have never shown a propensity for crime should be afforded the same ability to defend themselves as the police. No matter what our government thinks, we are not children and we do not need to be protected from ourselves. Law enforcement agencies are able to possess body armor, semi-automatic rifles, machine guns and even armored vehicles, and thus we should also be able to own those things. Considering the constant stream of police abuses and crimes against the people of our nation by law enforcement, it becomes obvious that most citizens are much more responsible than a great many of those who wear a police badge for a living.



With the militarization of law enforcement agencies around this nation, the case for the same weapons that the police possess being in the hands of civilians becomes even more solid. Many in law enforcement have long ago started to see the people who they are supposed to protect as the enemy. It does not go outside the realm of logic to believe that many in law enforcement will be on the front lines of future unconstitutional crackdowns such as we saw during the Ferguson riots and in Boston during the Boston Bombing manhunt. The people should not only have the ability to resist events that would strip them of their constitutionally protected liberties, but have an obligation to do so. When the police regain their senses, start acting like they are part of the community again, and start serving the people rather than the government, then I say we have some room for discussion. As it stands, I am not holding my breath.




The police are part of “We the People” and are supposed to protect us from those members of our society who would hurt us. The military is tasked with protecting us from foreign threats. That is the litmus test to determine whether or not an American should be able to possess a specific type of weapon. The American government would never use napalm or nuclear weapons within the borders of the United States and thus the American people should not have access to those weapons. The police are not above the law nor should they have access to weapons that are greater than what the American people are able to possess. Case closed.

Senators Criticize Growing Militarization of Local Police Departments
Democrats, Republicans Question Federal Programs Giving Military-Style Gear to Local Law Enforcement

WASHINGTON—Senators from across the political spectrum Tuesday made an argument not often heard in the halls of Congress: the federal government might be giving their states too much stuff.

At a hearing called to examine what critics call police militarization, members of the Senate's homeland security committee expressed deep skepticism of programs that outfit police departments with military equipment and money to buy gear. The use of military-style equipment by local police departments has gained new attention in the wake of the police response to protests in Ferguson, Mo., over the killing of an unarmed black teenager by a police officer.

The Obama administration is reviewing federal programs that equip local police departments.

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D., Mo.) singled out a one-man police department in Michigan that she said had received 13 assault weapons. Sen. Rand Paul (R., Ky.) criticized 14,000 bayonets the Pentagon had distributed to local police across the country for reasons he said he couldn't fathom.

"Giving military-grade weapons to every police force and every officer comes with costs," Ms. McCaskill said. "Officers dressed in military fatigues will not be viewed as partners in any community."

Billions of dollars' worth of excess military equipment and funding to buy other gear has gone to local police departments over the past two decades. At first, Congress approved such programs as a way to help local law enforcement outgunned by drug gangs. After the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the flow increased, as Congress spent more money to help law enforcement prevent terrorism and natural disasters.

But now, many members of Congress seem to think such programs might have gone too far. They expressed worry the expenditures are wasting money and driving a wedge between police and the communities they serve. On Tuesday, senators questioned both the kind of equipment made available to local police departments and the amount of training and oversight they received.

"It's hard to see a difference between the militarized and increasingly federalized police force we see in towns across America today and the force that Madison had in mind when he said, 'a standing military force with an overgrown executive will not long be a safe companion to liberty,' " said Sen. Tom Coburn (R., Okla.).

Officials testifying from the departments of Defense, Homeland Security and Justice defended aspects of the programs that equip local police forces, but said they are cooperating with the Obama-initiated review. The officials said they were simply providing what Congress had authorized or what state and local departments said they needed.

Pressed by Mr. Coburn about why police departments can buy battle-dress uniforms similar to military fatigues with Department of Homeland Security funds, an official from the department said local officials had asked for it.

"We certainly can review the types of uniforms that our responders are requesting, but they have advised us, in the building of capabilities to fight terrorism, that this type of dress would be useful," said Brian Kamoie, the assistant administrator for grant programs at the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Senators took aim in particular at the Defense Department's provision of 617 mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicles to small police departments. As the U.S. has drawn down forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, the hulking vehicles have been finding their way to smaller and smaller towns. Police departments generally don't receive training in how or when to use them.

The sheriff's department in Payne County, Okla., has received two of the vehicles. At the hearing, senators apparently citing Justice Department statistics said the department only had one full-time sworn officer and suggested it represented an extreme example of overly arming the police.

In an interview, Payne County Sheriff R.B. Hauf said he has 40 full-time sworn officers under his command. He plans to use one of the mine-resistant vehicles only to provide parts to the other, which he already deployed once. Mr. Hauf said that in April, a man violated a protective order from a court, barricaded himself in a house and threatened to shoot any law enforcement that showed up. Officers believed he had weapons, so they drove the vehicle onto the lawn and communicated with him from within the safety of the vehicle using its public-address system. The situation was resolved peacefully, he said.

Previously, he said, the closest such vehicle was two hours away, in Oklahoma City or Tulsa.

"I hope it stays inside of a building its whole life and we don't have to use it," he said. But "my county has never been able to provide our guys with the level of safety naturally that an armored vehicle can do."

Cop Asks Man For License, Shoots Him When He Goes to Get It

The video showing a shooting involving a former South Carolina state trooper and an unarmed man has been released to the public.
The video was taken from the dash camera installed inside 31-year-old Sean Groubert’s vehicle during an encounter in which Groubert shot 35-year-old Levar Jones on September 4th. The incident took place at a Circle K gas station on Broad River Road in Columbia.
Groubert was charged Wednesday with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature in connection with the incident. Bond was set at $75,000.
In the video, Jones can be seen getting out of his car when Groubert pulled up and asked for his license. Jones can be seen reaching into his car for his license, and as he does, Groubert begins yelling at Jones and fires several shots.

Jones was hit by one bullet in the hip. He is recovering at home after being hospitalized for the injury.
While shooting at Jones, Groubert can be heard yelling, “Get out of the car, get out of the car.”
Jones replied,”I just got my license, you said get my license.”
Groubert responded by telling Jones to get on the ground.
While on the ground Jones said, “I have my license right here, you said get my license.”
In the video Groubert can be heard asking Jones if he was hit by a bullet and went on to say, “Bro, you dove head first back into your car.”

After seeing the video in court, Groubert’s attorney, former Fifth Circuit Solicitor Barney Geise, says that his client is not guilty and is looking forward to his day in court.
South Carolina Department of Public Safety Director Leroy Smith fired Groubert September 19th after observing the video and reviewing a report from the State Law Enforcement Division. In dismissing Groubert, Smith called the facts of the case “disturbing.”
The charges filed Wednesday were brought by the Fifth Circuit Solicitor’s office, which also reviewed SLED’s findings. Groubert faces a maximum of 20 years in prison

New York Parking Employer Admits To Stealing $89,000 in Quarters

Jeffrey Daday, 36, a Mount Kisco parking cop, is no “nickel and dimer.” No he is a quarter man. On Tuesday, Daday admitted Tuesday that he stole more than $89,000 in quarters during a span of about five years. That is a total of about 365,000 quarters.


There are two aspects about this story that struck me as particularly notable beyond the obvious. First, Daday appears to have been depositing these money directly into his bank account. That would seem pretty reckless since his account would show a huge amount of money that is not accounted for in his low-level municipal job. Given the missing quarters, it was likely that some investigation would occur and the first place that they would look would be the bank accounts of employees.


Second, his thefts from 2009 to 2014, is not the first such crime in Mount Kisco. In 2005 Jason Berke, a former parking meter supervisor, pleaded guilty to stealing $30,000 worth of coins from meters, admitting that he took about $1,000 a week.


Finally, here is the real shocker, according to the article below, the quarters would allow for 5.2 million minutes of parking time but then added that the close to $90,000 would also pay for “8 months worth of parking in the village.” That was meant to show how much was stolen but it is astonishing that almost $100,000 would be needed to park for less than a year in Westchester County.


Daday now faces up to 15 years in prison. His predecessor however received only five years.

Outgoing U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has ordered federal prosecutors not to seek the death penalty against three members of a Brooklyn drug crew charged with a killing in which the victim was tortured, the Daily News has learned.
The decision was disclosed Thursday in a one-sentence letter to Brooklyn Federal Judge Frederic Block several hours after Holder announced he was resigning after nearly six years as the nation’s top law enforcement official.
The defendants — Christian John, Marvin Johnson and Shaquan Jones — are described in a federal racketeering indictment as being members of The Hull St. Crew, which wreaked havoc in East New York, Bushwick and Bedford-Stuyvesant.
John, 31, is accused of killing six people, and Johnson, 30, with four. Both also are members of the Bloods gang, court papers say. Jones, 31, is accused of one killing. Their trial is to start Oct. 22.

Christian John (pictured), 31, along with Marvin Johnson and Shaquan Jones are described in a federal racketeering indictment as being members of The Hull St. Crew.

All three are charged with the sadistic murder of Earle Obermuller on Nov. 27, 2006. In the basement of a brownstone on Madison St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant, where Johnson peddled crack and marijuana, they completely bound Obermuller’s face, legs and arms with duct tape and watched him suffocate to death, according to court papers.
“Obermuller was found tied to a chair and severely burned on a bed of charcoals,” FBI special agent Scott Byers stated in the complaint.
All death-penalty-eligible federal cases are reviewed by the U.S. attorney general’s committee on capital crimes. The attorney general makes the final decision, and the reasons behind it are confidential.

The Justice Department did not respond to a request for comment on Friday.

John and Jones, 31, are also charged with the April 6, 2011, murders of Jason Bostic and Aaron Formey in the basement of a Bed-Stuy apartment. The victims were also tied with duct tape, tortured and shot multiple times. The defendants allegedly purchased a Range Rover with the proceeds of the drug ripoff.
“Given the young age of the defendants, I think it was the right decision,” said John’s lawyer, Susan Kellman. “Death is so final and never appropriate.”

Could you imagine if the government had prohibited consideration of ideology (Nazi leanings) in identifying possible internal threats during WWII? That’s exactly how many critics might analogize new rules handed down by Attorney General Eric Holder that hamstring the FBI, rules disallowing the use of religious factors in the pursuit of terrorist suspects. In other words, all other things being equal, Muslims must be viewed as no more likely to carry out terrorist attacks than are Catholics, Jews, Presbyterians, Methodists, or Episcopalians.


This was brought to light by Steven Emerson, head of The Investigative Project on Terrorism, while a guest on Fox News’ Justice with Judge Jeanine earlier this month.

Emerson, who has said that ISIS is “Al Qaeda 3.0” and that it already has a US presence and is planning terrorist attacks, warned that the new domestic rules of engagement (disengagement?) imperil every American. As he explained to show host Jeanine Pirro:


The FBI [has been constrained by] the Department of Justice…. If someone was a religious extremist, though they didn't plot to carry out an attack, that [indicator] could not be factored into an investigation … into identifying them as a potential threat to the United States. Therefore, they [law enforcement] would have to wait until they actually plotted to carry out an attack. Well, that's too late. And unfortunately, what we're seeing right now is the fact is that we've seen massive numbers, increasing numbers of volunteers going over not just from Europe, from Asia and Africa, but we're seeing ISIS recruiting biophysicists, engineers, social media types, people who have expertise in really carrying out sophisticated terrorist attacks coming back to the United States.




Thus, since the FBI’s focus can’t be on mosques as terrorist breeding grounds, there’s freer rein for jihadists’ focus on them as terrorist recruitment centers. Emerson continued:


There's one recruiter that [had been] ... picked up [in the past], well identified, in Bloomington, Minnesota at the Al Farooq Mosque. There are recruiters going around the country in other mosques, where they identify potential volunteers. They test them out to see if they're willing to die on behalf of martyrdom of the cause for Allah. Then they give them cash, they provide money for their families in case they die. They give them tickets to go to Turkey. Turkey has allowed them, hundreds, to go through to Syria, then to Iraq. And we [the U.S.] count Turkey as one of our top allies. We haven't put [many of] them on the terrorism watch list, which we should. So there's a major disconnect, Judge, here between what we should be doing to protect the homeland and protect American citizens versus what the president is doing.


And Emerson knows whereof he speaks, being the FBI’s “go-to guy” for information on terrorism. Describing his triumphs and status after speaking to the expert, American Thinker’s Karin McQuillan writes:


Emerson runs the country’s top data center on Islamic terror groups in the United States, working like a man possessed, and accomplishing the work of thousands on sheer guts and determination to protect our country.


Wherever the bad guys have been caught and prosecuted successfully, you will find Emerson working quietly behind the scenes as an invaluable ally of the FBI and Homeland Security. Because he accepts no money from the government, Emerson has been free of the diktats of the Obama administration that have forbidden the FBI to train their sights on Muslim terrorists.


Yet Holder’s new rules may mean that some of the world’s most dangerous terrorists won’t be caught and prosecuted successfully. As McQuillan also wrote, “The chief danger Steven Emerson sees is that there are three to four hundred ISIS killers in Syria and Iraq with American passports, who can return whenever they want, and the Obama administration is blocking the FBI from monitoring them in mosques.” He went on to tell American Thinker that ISIS already is in the United States, “and the only reason there has not been a terror attack is that they have not decided to do it yet.”


And what inspires the Obama administration’s new rules? They’re part of an obsession with eliminating unfashionable “profiling,” but many critics point out that this effort is not only destructive, but also illogical because profiling is something that everyone does — and must do — continually. For example, economics professor and social commentator Walter Williams has explained that profiling is simply a way to determine probabilities based on easily observable traits in situations in which the cost of obtaining more information is too high. Providing some real-world examples in 2010, Williams wrote:


Pima Indians of Arizona have the world's highest diabetes rates. With knowledge that his patient is a Pima Indian, it would probably be a best practice for a physician to order more thorough blood glucose tests to screen for diabetes. Prostate cancer is nearly twice as common among black men as white men. It would also be a best practice for a physician to be attentive to — even risk false positive PSAs — prostate cancer among his black patients. What about physicians who order routine mammograms for their 40-year and older female patients but not their male patients?


… Because of a correlation between race, sex and disease, the physician is using a cheap-to-observe characteristic, such as race or sex, as an estimate for a more costly-to-observe characteristic, the presence of a disease. The physician is practicing both race and sex profiling. Does that make the physician a racist or sexist?


And political correctness cannot cause this aspect of reality to suddenly suspend itself. As Williams wrote in an earlier piece:


Just as race and ethnicity are not perfect indicators of the risk of certain diseases, neither is race a perfect indicator of criminal activity, but they are associations, and people act on those associations.


A Washington, D.C., taxicab commissioner, who is black, issued a safety advisory urging D.C.’s 6,800 cabbies to refuse to pick up “dangerous looking” passengers. She described “dangerous looking” as a “young black guy … with shirttail hanging down longer than his coat, baggy pants, unlaced tennis shoes.” By no stretch of imagination does every young black person pose a threat to taxi drivers, but in Washington, D.C., and other cities, there’s a strong correlation between race and the threat of robbery/murder.


Moreover, even the staunchest opponents of “racial profiling” can’t help but practice it. As activist Jesse Jackson said years ago, “There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps … then turn around and see somebody white and feel relieved.”


And all sorts of correlations exist. Blacks and Hispanics perpetrate 96 percent of all crime and 98 percent of gun crime in NYC. On the other hand, points out Roy Huntington at PoliceMag.com, “When white club owners were primary participants in the Ecstasy trade, that's who the cops were arresting. Ditto for ... white ‘biker’ gangs engaged in the meth trade…. Cops go where the crime is.”


Or, at least, sometimes they do, anyway — when political correctness isn’t taking precedence over saving lives.

TSA Tries to Pat Down Man After His Flight, Watch Him Refuse

Last weekend, an airline passenger was stopped by TSA agents after his flight reached its destination. The agents ordered that he undergo additional screening under threat of arrest. He refused and left the airport.



Last Saturday, Kahler Nygard took a Spirit Airlines flight to Denver to visit with friends. When he departed from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, Transportation Security Administration agents patted him down and allowed him to board his flight. When the plane landed, he was singled out and ordered to exit before the other passengers. After he exited the aircraft, TSA agents approached Nygard and demanded that he go through an additional pat-down and a screening of his luggage for explosive materials.

He had already arrived safely at his destination in Denver and simply wanted to leave the airport. After an argument, which can be seen in the above video, Nygard refused the pat-down, despite the fact that TSA agents claimed that he would be arrested if he did not comply, and exited the airport without incident. According to KMSP-TV Fox 9 News, Nygard flew back to Minnesota yesterday without any complications.

KUSA-TV notes that Nygard indicated that he knew that he had been placed on the FBI’s “no fly” list around three years ago, despite not being told why, and took the flight to Denver in an effort to see if he was still on the list. However, he was apparently downgraded to a lower-level watch list that labeled him as a “Quad S” passenger. Passengers carrying the label “SSSS” on their boarding pass are forced to undergo additional scrutiny during TSA pre-flight screenings. Nygard says he believes he was placed on the list because he posted on anti-government websites, but describes his own advocacy as being against government corruption, rather than the government itself.
The plot thickened when TSA agents working at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport started forgetting the extra checks on Quad S passengers. Reportedly, two other Quad S passengers, in addition to Nygard, slipped through security over the weekend without additional screening. When the crew on Nygard’s flight noticed the “SSSS” designation on his boarding pass, they contacted officials on the ground in Denver, who then made the questionable decision to attempt a second, more thorough screening on Nygard after he reached his destination and was on his way out of the airport, when it would have been impossible for him to pose any conceivable threat to any airline passenger.
Nygard responded to the screening order by asking if he was being detained. Said Nygard, “Why do you need to do more screening if I traveled from point A to point B safely, right? Why does there now need to be more screening before I am allowed to leave? That would lead me to believe that I am being detained, am I not?”

“I’m not going to argue the process with you,” said the TSA agent.

Nygard reiterated, “Are you detaining me?”

“I am not detaining you,” the agent replied.

“So then I’m going to leave. I’m just stating what I’m going to do,” Nygard fired back.

The TSA agent then threatened Nygard with arrest. “And I will reach out to Denver police, and they will apprehend you.”
Nygard left the airport without consenting to the pat-down and was not arrested by police. He flew back to Minnesota yesterday with his father and arrived without any further complications.

The TSA is investigating the incident and issued the following statement to KMSP-TV Fox 9 News, “For security reasons, TSA cannot confirm whether specific individuals are on any type of watch list. TSA conducts watch list matching of all airline passengers against information controlled by the FBI’s Terrorist Screening Center. This is one of several important security measures in place to protect US national and transportation security. Individuals known to pose a threat to aviation who are on this list will not be issued a boarding pass and are not allowed to fly. If an individual has received a boarding pass, he or she is not on the No Fly List.”
