Just an alert for those with scanners.

The VAST MAJORITY (including Denver and Colorado Springs) of the police, fire and other emergency services uses a digital trunked scanning system in the 800-900 Mhz band.

I can't see either a picture or a link, Ryan (I'm a work, a lot of crap is blocked, try putting just the link in there too if you wouldn't mind).

This is digitized audio so you can't hear it at all on an analog scanner.

Radio Shack sells both a portable and a desktop model of this scanner, for 500 bucks. (OUCH) That's why I don't have one.

Radio shack couldn't even help w/ my scanner, saying that most codes don't work, it's all going digital now. I'm going to try again to get something later, though.

If you don't have a PhotoBucket account, go there and create one. It is a very easy to use photo hosting service. They even generate the [IMG] tag BBCode for you automatically so all you have to do is copy and paste.

Jimmy Carter at the convention referring to Obama as a "black boy". You all know if a Republican had said such a thing it would have been national news for days on end but, a Democrat says it and not a peep.

I watched the Hillary speech on Fox. It was a masterpiece. She did her job in saying that she will stand with Obama but there were double messages in the speech by pointing to herself, the Clinton presidency, and the democratic party, and political history of American women, and by what she ommitted in not embracing Obama or in stating any of his policies or character or experience. Just like when her husband cheated on her yet she didn't divorce him, she did what she had to do in her speech to make things look good enough on the surface because that appearance enables her to go forward for what she considers to be the best future for herself and for America. This is such an irony because she is known as a champion for womens rights, but she suffers these injustices at least in part because she is a woman; yet she must smile through it and be on the side of those who screwed her over. It sure sounded to me like she still expects a shot at 2008, not preparing her supporters for 2012.

MALAAK SHABAZZ: I think so. He has opened the gamut -- from white, black, Republicans, [and] Hispanic. He's got Native Americans voting, and they wouldn't even vote before because they didn't think anything was going to be done for them.

MARK THOMPSON: If Barack Obama would stand on stage with your family the way he stood on stage with the Kennedys that would be a powerful endorsement. That would send a signal that he understands the historical context of our movement. That ought to happen. Is that going to happen?
