The migrant flood in Europe happened because Merkel loudly signaled that the border was open. Migrants from as far as Afghanistan began heading there. Obama's open borders signal was also received. There are more practical geographical limitations, but those who really want to are overcoming them.

Mexican immigration authorities say 424 migrants from African countries arrived at the southern state of Chiapas over two days last week.

The National Immigration Institute said Tuesday that it has issued them 20-day transit visas that will allow the migrants to reach the U.S.-Mexico border, where they plan to request asylum.

Officials call it an unusual surge and say most of the migrants first went to Brazil or Ecuador to start their journey through Latin America.

Most of the Africans presented themselves voluntarily to immigration officials in the Chiapas town of Tapachula. They did not specify their nationalities.

Immigration support staff in Tijuana has been aiding migrants from the Congo, Somalia and Ghana to arrive at the U.S. port of entry at San Isidro.

It takes time to develop the infrastructure for migration. There's a reliable smuggling network to the border. The network for migrants from outside the hemisphere is still developing, but once it's in place, the process will explode tremendously.

And another wild card is that if Europe does manage to slam the door, a lot of the smugglers and the traffic will shift to America.

It would seem that the West is slowly succumbing to a two-tier legal system to accommodate Islamic supremacists: one in which democratic citizens are prosecuted for crimes and assaults under Western laws and another in which Sharia law exonerates Muslims from responsibility for crimes against innocent Westerners.

LONDON — Some scandals are so massive that they’re simply hard to believe. As many as one million white English children may have been the victims of Muslim rape gangs, better known as grooming gangs, in towns up and down Great Britain.

Policy analyst George Igler says, “When you encounter an issue that is just so unbelievable, just so outside your frame of reference and understanding, the immediate human reaction is just one to not believe it at all.”

Perhaps even harder to believe is that while there have been prosecutions, the British government has still not stopped this criminal activity.

Easy Targets

Former Home Secretary and parliament member Jack Straw once said, “There’s a particular problem involving Pakistani heritage men who target young, vulnerable, white English girls.” He also said these Pakistani heritage men view white English girls as “easy meat.”

This is when some shout ‘racism,’ but here are the facts: calculations based on convictions show that a British Muslim male is 170 times more likely to be a part of sex grooming gang than a non-Muslim. And there are no recorded instances of non-Muslims doing this to Muslim girls as part of a criminal enterprise. In one local jurisdiction, it was estimated that six out of seven Muslim males either knew about, or were part of, a grooming gang.

Igler says, “What you do not have is any example of non-Muslim men targeting Muslim girls for this organized form of abuse. So, the argument that this crime exists everywhere is not only false, but is being deliberately cultivated by the media and by the government inquiry that is kicking the can down the road.”

The grooming gangs have been traced back as far as the late 1980s. At-risk white English girls, often from broken homes and some as young as nine years old, were wooed or “groomed” by teenage Muslim boys called ‘Romeos’ and even by groups of Muslim men who hung around school gates. The girl would be made to feel important; given gifts and drugs. She was being groomed to be a drug addicted prostitute. Then came the gang rapes. They were threatened with death if they tried to flee.

Igler says, “The thing you have to understand about this rape of children is it’s not just sexual abuse. It is unspeakable levels of violence, victims being raped with knives, victims being raped with bottles, victims having their tongues nailed to tables. These are sometimes girls who are picked up from a children’s home on a Friday, are being raped during the course of a weekend by hundreds of men and returned with bleeding groins back to the children’s’ home on a Monday morning and they don’t do anything about it at all.”….

No Law or Order

The said authorities often make it sound like it was the girl’s fault, or her parents’ fault, “because you don’t have control of your child.”

Igler says, “If you are a young English girl, particularly between the ages of nine and 14, and you find yourself subject to the perversions of Muslim men, you effectively exist in a country where the forces of law and order don’t exist at all.”

Stephen Lennon, also known as Tommy Robinson, former leader of the English Defence League, was just a young boy in the town of Luton when he learned a family member had been victimized by a grooming gang. He told us, “I first knew because my cousin was raped and she was found naked and running from the Muslim community, age 13. She was taken by the prostitutes on the street. The police wouldn’t help. All the police would say is she’s a drug addict. She was a drug addict. She became hooked on drugs after they were grooming and raping her. ”

Some say grooming gangs originate from a particular region of Pakistan. But others point out that the Quran encourages Muslims to take enemy women as sex slaves, and that Muhammed had sex with a 9-year-old wife.

ISIS has publicly defended sexual slavery, saying, “enslaving the families of the infidels and taking their women as concubines is a firmly established aspect of the Sharia, or Islamic law.”

Victims of a Multicultural Revolution

The reason these crimes were covered up and continue to this day is political correctness. No one wanted to be called a racist.

The definitive book on this scandal is “Easy Meat” by Peter McLoughlin, who declined an on-camera interview for safety reasons. He told us, “Journalists would not speak about it, because the perpetrators were mostly dark-skinned and Muslim. Childcare professionals used Political Correctness as an ‘omerta,’ a code of silence concerning what the public was allowed to know.”

“These girls are the victims of the multicultural revolution,” says Igler, “and it is certainly an indication of the fact that this accusation of racism is potentially the most powerful weapon known to man.” “This is also an example of what can happen in a country of 60 million where the press just refuses to report; where the cries of all these agencies fail; fail to merely discuss what is going on.”

The cover up was eventually exposed, yet the grooming gangs continue to operate. One victim told a British newspaper, “Nothing has changed, not in the slightest. It’s still the same scale as before.”

Igler said of the grooming gangs, “They get sexual kicks out of ruining the most precious possession that people have, their daughters.”

Stephen Lennon warned that there will be repercussions.

He told us, “There’s no blood on my hands, but there will be a lot of blood spilled in this country, and it will be on the hands of our leaders. And there will come a time when they will realize what they have done, and the country’s people will realize what they’ve done, as well. They’ve sold us out. They’ve destroyed our nation. In Australia a Rohingya refugee was sentenced to five years in prison for raping a ten year old boy. The convicted Muslim man said it was culturally acceptable to rape children where he came from in Burma (aka Myanmar).

(Gee, could this be one of many reasons the ruling Buddhists want the Rohingya out of their country?)

Mufiz Rahaman, 20, slumped forward in the dock at Downing Centre District Court yesterday as he was sentenced to five years in jail, with a non-parole period of three years, after pleading guilty to aggravated sexual assault of the boy in the child’s bed on January 8 last year.

Rahaman, a member of the persecuted Rohingya Muslim minority from Myanmar, told Correctives Services staff compiling his pre-sentence report he “did not believe what he did was a crime and that it was culturally acceptable in Myanmar”.

Agreed facts tendered to the court reveal the boy and his father, also Rohingya, were living with other refugees at a vacant Sydney club in January last year.

While the father was outside the bedroom preparing lunch, Rahaman sneaked into the room and raped the boy.
When the father returned he noticed the door had been closed.

The court papers state: “He could hear the offender’s voice coming from inside the room. He heard the offender say, ‘I’ll give you money to do this.’ He heard the victim say, ‘My Dad will hit me.’ ”[….]

“I am unable to find on the balance of probabilities that the offender has accepted responsibility for his actions,” he said.

Judge Scotting said Rahaman had been assessed as having a moderate to high risk of reoffending.

Rahaman will be eligible for parole in March 2018.

O.K. and now you are saying, well that is in Australia. But, what about America?

Mass immigration is a phenomenon the causes of which are cleverly concealed by the political elites, and the multicultural propaganda is employed to falsely portray it as inevitable. In this article we intend to prove once and for all, that mass immigration is not a spontaneous phenomenon. What the elites try to present as an inevitability of modern life, is actually the product of a plan conceived around a table and prepared over decades, to completely change the face of our continent.

The Pan-Europe

Few people know that one of the main instigators of the process of European integration, was a man who also conceived the genocide of the peoples of Europe. He was a sinister individual whose existence is unknown to the masses of our people, but the political elites consider him as the founder of the European Union. His name is Richard von Coudenhove Kalergi. His father was an Austrian diplomat named Heinrich von Coudenhove-Kalergi (with connections to the Byzantine family of the Kallergis), and his mother the Japanese Mitsu Aoyama.

Thanks to his close contacts with European aristocrats and politicians, and due to the network of relationships created his nobleman-diplomat father, Richard von Coudenhove-Kalergi was able to work unseen, away from the glare of publicity, and he managed to engage the co-operation of the most influential heads of state for his plan, making them supporters and collaborators for his “project of European integration”.

In 1922 he founded the “Pan-European” movement in Vienna, which aimed to create a New World Order, based on a federation of nations led by the United States. European integration would be just the first step in creating a world government. His earliest supporters included Czech politicians Tomáš Masaryk and Edvard Beneš, and the German Jewish banker Max Warburg, who invested the first 60,000 marks. The Austrian Chancellor Ignaz Seipel and the next president of Austria, Karl Renner, took early responsibility for leading the “Pan-European” movement and later, French politicians, such as Léon Bloum, Aristide Briand, Alcide De Gasperi etc., offered their help.

With the rise of Fascism in Europe during the 1930s, the project of European integration was abandoned and the “Pan-European” movement was forced to dissolve. However, after the Second World War, and thanks to frantic and tireless activity and the support of Winston Churchill, the Jewish Masonic Lodge B’nai B’rith and major newspapers like the New York Times, Kalergi managed to gain acceptance for his plan by the United States Government and later the CIA became involved in driving the plan towards completion.

The essence of the Kalergi plan

In his book «Praktischer Idealismus», Kalergi explains that the citizens of the future “United States of Europe” will not be the people of the Old Continent, but a new mixed breed, the products of thorough and widespread miscegenation. He states that the peoples of Europe should interbreed with Asians and other non-White races, to create a multiracial population, with not clear sense of tradition or identity and therefore easily controlled by the ruling elite.

Kalergi proclaims the need to abolish the right of nations to self-determination and outlines the break-up of nation states through the use of ethnic separatist movements and the destruction of the nations themselves through mass migration. In order for Europe to be easily controlled by the future elite, Kalergi proposes the creation of a homogeneous mixed breed population, and as to who should be the new elite? Kalergi is particularly illuminating on this point:

The man of the future will be of mixed race. The races and classes of today will gradually disappear due to the elimination of space, time, and prejudice. The Eurasian-negroid race of the future, similar in appearance to the Ancient Egyptians, will replace the current diversity of peoples and the diversity of individuals. Instead of destroying European Judaism, Europe, against her will, refined and educated this people, driving them to their future status as a leading nation through this artificial evolutionary process. It’s not surprising that the people that escaped from the Ghetto-Prison, became the spiritual nobility of Europe. Thus, the compassionate care given by Europe created a new breed of aristocrats. This happened when the European feudal aristocracy crashed because of the emancipation of the Jews [due to the actions taken by the French Revolution]

Although no textbook mentions Kalergi, his ideas are the guiding principles of the European Union. The belief that the peoples of Europe should be mixed with Africans and Asians, to destroy our identity, to break down traditional ways of living and create a single mixed race, is the reason for community policies that promote minority interests. The underlying motives are not really humanitarian, but because the power behind the ruthless regime dominating the EU plans the greatest genocide in history.

A prestigious prize is awarded every two years by the Coudenhove-Kalergi Foundation to Europeans who have excelled in promoting this criminal plan. Among those awarded with such a prize are Angela Merkel and Herman Van Rompuy.

The facilitation of genocide, is also the basis of the constant appeals from the United Nations, demanding that we accept millions of immigrants to help counter the low birth rate among Europeans. According to a report published in January 2000 by the population division of the United Nations in New York, under the title “Immigration replacement: A solution to declining and aging population,” Europe will need to accept 159,000,000 migrants by 2025.

the citing of such precise numbers is evidence of a premeditated plan. Clearly a low birth-rate can easily be reversed with appropriate measures to support families and it is equally clear that the introduction of alien genes will do nothing to preserve our genetic heritage but destroy it. The consequence of current policies promoting multiracialism is to create a weakened disparate population without national, historical or cultural cohesion. In short, the policies of the Kalergi plan have been and still are, the basis of official government policies intent upon the genocide of the Peoples of Europe, through mass immigration.

G. Brock Chisholm, a former director of the World Health Organization (OMS), demonstrated this well when he said: “What people everywhere need to do is to limit births and promote mixed marriages (between the different races), the outcome will be the creation of a single race throughout the world which can be directed by a central authority. “

Conclusions

If we look around us, the implementation of the Kalergi Plan seems to be at an advanced stage. We face Europe’s fusion with the Third World. The plague of interracial marriage produces each year thousands of young people of mixed race: ‘The children of Kalergi’. Under the dual pressures of misinformation and humanitarian stupefaction, promoted by the mass media, we Europeans are being taught to renounce our origins, and to renounce our national identity.

The servants of globalization are trying to convince us that to deny our identity, is a progressive and humanitarian act, that “racism” is wrong, because they want us all to be blind consumers. It is necessary, now more than ever, to counter the lies of the System, to awaken the revolutionary spirit among Europeans. Every one must be made aware of this truth, that European integration amounts to genocide. We have no other option, the alternative is national suicide.

Translator’s note: Although the reasons due to which Kalergi made the choices he made are of no particular interest to us, we will try to answer a question that will surely our readers have already asked: Why a European aristocrat with Flemish, Polish, Greek-Byzantine roots and even with some samurai blood in his veins (from his mother) was such body plans and organ in the hands of dark forces? The reasons, in our opinion, are multiple, idiosyncratic, psychological and … women.

We therefore observe a personality with strong snobbish attitudes, arrogance, and, allow me the term, “degenerate elitism.” Also, the fact that his mother was Asian, perhaps created internal conflicts and frustrations, something that can happen to people with such temperament. But the most decisive factor must have been the “proper teenager”, which incidentally of course, was beside him, and became his first woman (at age 13): The Jewess Ida Roland, who would later become a famous actress.

EUROPEAN COUNCIL

The award of the Coudenhove-Kalergi Prize to President Van Rompuy

On November 16th 2012, the President of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy, was awarded the Coudenhove-Kalergi Prize, during a special conference in Vienna, to celebrate 90 years of pan-European movement. The prize is awarded every two years to leading personalities for their outstanding contribution to the process of European integration.

A decisive factor that helped him win the prize was the balanced way in which President Van Rompuy executed his duties in the new position of President of the European Council, which was established by the Treaty of Lisbon. He handled this particularly sensitive leading and coordinating role with a spirit of determination and reconciliation, while emphasis was also given to his skilful arbitration on European affairs and unfailing commitment to European moral values.

During his speech, Mr Van Rompuy described the unification of Europe as a peace project. This idea, which was also the objective of the work of Coudenhove-Kalergi, after 90 years is still important. The award bears the name of Count Richard Nicolaus von Coudenhove-Kalergi (1894-1972), philosopher, diplomat, publisher and founder of the Pan-European Movement (1923). Coudenhove-Kalergi was the pioneer of European integration and popularized the idea of a federal Europe with his work.

Among the winners of the award, the Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel (2010) and the President of Latvia Vaira Vike-Freiberga (2006), are included.

The Islamic Movement in America is Preparing for War

The Islamic Movement in the U.S. continues their daily work of preparing for the coming battle at all levels of the society. From a military standpoint, the leaders of the American Muslim community are coalescing their forces and preparing strategically, operationally, and logistically for war.

Strategic Overlay
Going back to the early 1980’s, the jihadis set up an elaborate network of jihadi centers known in the U.S. as the Al Kifah Refugee Centers to recruit jihadis for the war against the Soviets in Afghanistan. Some of these over three dozen offices were operated by only a couple jihadis with a phone or fax machine, and some had a more sizable presence in the community. Nevertheless, they created nodes across the United States for jihadis in many American cities, and became centers for possible Al Qaeda recruitment in the future.

For the last few decades the Pakistani terrorist organization known as Jamaat al Fuqra has been establishing jihadi training camps in the United States primarily among black Muslims, many of whom were recruited in prison. Known in the U.S. as “Muslims of America” or “MOA,” approximately two dozen of the three dozen known camps appear to be operational today.

In the early 1990’s the Chief Investigator for the state of Colorado, with support from the Governor and Attorney General, launched a multi-jurisdictional raid of an MOA compound near Buena Vista (CO) and discovered weapons, explosives, lists of people to be assassinated, evidence that military/national guard bases had been under surveillance, and the like.

In one of the gems discovered in the 2004 FBI raid of the Annandale, Virginia home of a senior Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas leader, a recording of a senior Muslim Brotherhood leader speaking to a group of Muslim Brothers in Missouri revealed the MB has numerous training camps inside America and conducted regular firearms training.

To be clear, they are not planning on conducting violent actions in the immediate future, but are planning for “Zero Hour” – their term for when the violent jihad will begin when the time is right. They may wait until an outside influence from a foreign power or a major event initiates conflict, and then the Islamic Movement can begin the jihad and act independently or as an ally for a hostile foreign power such as Iran or China.

In the MB’s 5-Phase “World Underground Movement Plan” – discovered at the 2004 FBI raid in Annandale, Virginia – the Brotherhood states (Phase 2) they must “Establish a government (secret) within the government.” The purpose of this is to have jihadis on the inside of our government who will serve as the leadership for the Islamic Movement when they seize power in the United States. Until then, their role is to (1) gather intelligence and (2) conduct influence operations at all levels of the society, especially within the decision-making process.

As has previously been discussed, this is much more a counterintelligence and espionage issue than it is a “terrorism” matter. The enemy is preparing the battlefield now for the eventual battle to come.

The U.S. Network
The evidence in the largest terrorism financing and Hamas trial ever successfully prosecuted in American history (US v Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, Dallas 2008) reveals the most prominent Islamic organizations in the U.S. are a part of a massive jihadi network whose stated objective is to wage “Civilization Jihad” to destroy our system of government and establish an Islamic State (caliphate) under sharia here. The evidence also reveals the Muslim Brotherhood Islamic Centers/Mosques are the places at which jihadis train for battle and from which the jihad will be launched.

All of the mosques our military entered during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and mosques that European authorities have raided in the last two years have had weapons in them. The purpose of a mosque is what Mohammad used a mosque for, and the launch point for jihad is one of those purposes.

There are over 2400 Islamic Centers/Mosques in America, most of which are a part of the MB’s jihadi network.

In the United States the “nucleus” for the Islamic Movement is the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) whose subsidiary Islamic Societies number approximately 170. The Muslim Students Associations (MSA) serve as a recruiting arm for jihadis, and there are over 700 chapters on nearly every major college campus in America.

Reports from around the country from civilian and law enforcement sources reveal: Mosques and Islamic organizations are being built in strategic locations – near key infrastructure facilities, military bases, or some other key position in the community; taxi cab drivers at the largest airports in the U.S. are Muslim; and there is a noticeable increase in sharia-compliant Muslim TSA officers, baggage handlers and airline/airport employees at U.S. airports.

Additionally: Muslims are purchasing hotels, quick marts, and 7-11 type stores with gas stations, and a majority of major hotels in cities across the U.S. have a manager or assistant manager who is a Muslim, which is statistically impossible unless this activity is intentional.

Quick marts and gas stations provide their Movement with a logistics train that will be needed in a battle. Having people in leadership positions at major hotels in major cities, where law enforcement and intelligence groups and others hold conferences, serve as excellent intelligence gathering nodes.

Jihadis have penetrated U.S. federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies giving them access to sensitive intelligence systems, while simultaneously they have shut down real threat-based training inside these same agencies under the guise factual/truth-based training is “offensive to Muslims.”

Jihadis have also penetrated senior levels of the government (eg Suhail Khan working for two successive Secretaries of Transportation with access to classified critical infrastructure details), and have recruited senior U.S. government officials to promote and protect their interests which are hostile to the U.S. (most recent example – Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson promoting and defending leading MB organization ISNA and speaking at their annual convention expressly to open the door to more Cabinet officials to do the same).

Key jihadi organizations, like Hamas (doing business as the Council on American Islamic Relations/CAIR) work on Capitol Hill and inside government agencies to keep truthful discussions about the Islamic threat from ever happening, while plotting to work with Al Qaeda (as evidenced by UTT’s Chris Gaubatz discovery of a CAIR document dated 3/08/04 at their headquarters in Washington, D.C. stating, “Attempt to understand Islamic movements in the area, and start supporting Islamic groups including Mr. bin Laden and his associates”).

Now, the U.S. government is bringing tens of thousands of sharia adherent Muslims into our nation. From the Islamic perspective, these people are Muhajaroun – those who make the hijra into the non-Muslim lands in preparation for the “Final Stage,” which is armed conflict with the host country. This is all a part of their strategy, and is consistent with core Islamic doctrine.

Finally, we are currently observing the Marxist/Socialist Movement in the U.S. working directly with the Islamic Movement at the ground and strategic levels. Both have publicly declared their support for one another, they are both receiving funding from hard-left Marxists/socialists (eg George Soros) and foreign powers, and both are openly pushing for confrontation with and the overthrow of the U.S. government.

The Islamic Movement in the United States is deeply embedded in the U.S. decision-making process, has thousands of organizations and allies, possesses a logistics train of fuel and supplies, conducts weapons training programs, has access to U.S. intelligence systems, is well funded (primarily by Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, etc), has strategic plans for North America (An Explanatory Memorandum) and has a plan to implement the strategy which they are following.

The U.S. response is to say “Islam is a religion of peace” and work with the very Muslim leaders who are driving this hostile network.

Victory is not possible with this recipe.

Each year there are between 70 and 120 new Islamic non-profits being created in America, most of which appear to be working directly in line with the Muslim Brotherhood’s plan to wage civilization jihad until “Zero Hour” when the war goes hot.

Until then, they continue to prep the battlefield because they are really at war with us, and they are following sharia – core Islamic doctrine – as their blueprint for what they are doing.

Obama urged to substantially increase refugee intake for America

President Barack Obama is on track to exceed his goal of bringing 10,000 Syrian refugees to the United States this fiscal year, federal records show. But human rights activists, buoyed by a surge of interest in Syria thanks to the viral photo of a bloodied young boy, are hoping he will aim for a much higher target in the following 12 months.

Some are calling on Obama to admit at least 200,000 refugees from around the world, including tens of thousands of Syrians, through the U.S. refugee resettlement program and other routes. That's effectively twice as many total refugees as the Obama administration has planned to accept in the fiscal year that starts Oct. 1.

The advocates' intensifying push comes as Syria's civil war takes a dramatic turn for the worse, with the besieged city of Aleppo bearing much of the brunt of the recent fighting. The picture of Omran Daqneesh, the blood- and dust-covered little boy rescued after an airstrike, has reminded the world of the horror still unfolding in the Arab state.

Obama also is preparing to host a Sept. 20 international summit on the world's migration crisis, a meeting in which he is expected to urge other countries to double their intake of refugees. The gathering will be held on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly in New York City, just weeks before the end of a U.S. presidential campaign in which Republican nominee Donald Trump has made refugees an incendiary topic.

Refugee advocates say they understand the political sensitivities but argue that if the U.S. wants other countries to do more, especially for the millions of displaced Syrians, it has to lead by example.

"It's not only the right thing to do, but it's also in the U.S. national security interest," said Eleanor Acer, senior director for refugee protection at Human Rights First.

White House spokesman Peter Boogaard would not detail the administration's discussions but said it has "not set a specific target for any individual nationalities for fiscal year 2017." Sources familiar with the discussions say that as the administration grapples with what to do about the refugee numbers it is keenly aware of the political tensions as the 2016 campaign heads into the final stretch.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has said she'd be open to taking more Syrian refugees, but Trump says he doesn't want any on the grounds that terrorists could be hiding among them. A spate of recent attacks by Muslim migrants in Europe have only hardened suspicions within the GOP.

Obama aides, however, point out that refugees who reach the U.S. through its resettlement program get more rigorous security screening than any other type of immigrant — many wait for years for clearance. Earlier this month, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said the U.S. had recently added even more security checks to the process.

At the same time, the administration has increased staffing and taken other steps to speed up the resettlement process, which is one reason that, after a slow start, it may soon surpass the 10,000 goal for Syrians set by Obama. (More than 9,000 Syrian refugees have been allowed in the U.S. since Oct. 1 of last year.)

There are 4.8 million Syrian refugees registered with the United Nations, the vast majority of whom have settled in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt. Hundreds of thousands have trekked to Europe, throwing several of those countries into crisis, undercutting the open-borders ethos of the European Union and spiking support for far-right parties.

Trump has embraced the backlash against refugees in Europe, too — openly rooting for the British exit from the EU and comparing Clinton to Angela Merkel, the German chancellor who has emerged as the symbol of the continent’s initially welcoming stance toward the Syrian influx.

But the international refugee crisis goes well beyond Syrians — there are a record 65 million people either displaced in their own countries or registered as refugees outside their countries, according to the United Nations. Many are in Africa or parts of Asia, where long-standing refugee camps often seem more like cities. The U.N.’s refugee agency on Friday said that the conflict in Yemen, where Saudi Arabia has intervened with U.S. backing, had uprooted more than 3 million people.

As Europe dealt with the influx of migrants last year, Obama said the U.S. would increase the number of refugees it accepts from around the world from 70,000 to 85,000. The 85,000 cap included the goal of 10,000 Syrians. The Obama administration also said the U.S. would accept 100,000 total refugees in fiscal year 2017 — although activists are hoping he'll take in twice that.

Shannon Scribner, a top official with Oxfam America, said her sense is that, despite pressure from activists, Obama is unlikely to go beyond 100,000 total refugees. One reason is that Congress controls the funding for the refugee resettlement program, and Republicans could kill any request for more money, she noted.

Obama likely will use the daylong summit in September, which will come on the heels of a similar U.N. summit, to push for more out-of-the-box efforts to help the world's refugees. He is expected to announce new U.S. funding for the Middle Eastern countries hosting the majority of the displaced, and increased engagement with the private sector to seek solutions to the crisis. The administration has said it will ask other countries not just to accept more refugees through traditional resettlement programs (although many countries don't have such programs) but also to open other avenues for refugees — through student or work visas, for example.

The stability of refugee-hosting countries such as Jordan and Lebanon is of special concern, posing a long-term national security threat to the U.S. And as the conflict in Syria rages on, many children are growing up with little or no access to schooling, raising the specter of the rise of a lost generation susceptible to extremism.

Oxfam America on Friday seized on the spike in interest in the photo of the young Syrian boy to ask people to sign on to an action letter to Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry. The letter urges the pair to do more to bring the 5-year-old civil war in Syria to an end, while also helping those displaced by it.

"With nearly 5 million Syrian refugees, the U.S. can and should be resettling many more than this 10,000," the letter states. "When you make your resettlement determination in September, we urge you to ensure that resources are committed and that the pace of resettlement is significant stepped up."

The effect of a single photo can be fleeting. One reason the Obama administration decided to increase its intake of Syrian refugees this current fiscal year is because of the outrage that ensued last September over another heartbreaking viral photo, that of a 3-year-old Syrian boy whose body had washed up on a beach in Turkey.

But the Islamic State-linked attack that killed 130 people in Paris in November, as well as the mass shooting in San Bernardino, California, in December gave many Republicans, and some Democrats, pause — with many saying they were concerned that terrorists were taking advantage of migration flows to infiltrate the West.

"This could be one of the great Trojan horses," Trump said of the refugee program. He has also accused Clinton of wanting to spend "hundreds of billions of dollars to settle Middle Eastern refugees in the United States" — a claim that independent fact checkers have debunked — and dinged her repeatedly for calling last September for the U.S. to admit 65,000 properly screened Syrian refugees, a 550 percent increase over Obama's figure.

More than half of U.S. governors, most of them Republicans, announced within days of the Nov. 13 Paris attacks that they didn't want Syrian refugees in their states, shocking activists used to solid bipartisan support. The governors' attempts to block refugees have been spurned by the courts, but the partisan bile led some aid groups to curb efforts back then to push for an expanded U.S. resettlement program.

At the same time, the debate had another effect: Many Americans who had never heard of the refugee program suddenly grew interested. Faith-based organizations, including evangelical Christian groups who have long been major players in the refugee world, denounced Republican recalcitrance and stepped up their aid work.

"The politics, yes, we are at a sensitive time, but from our end we just keep getting calls from people who want to help. We have more volunteers and more donations than ever," said Melanie Nezer, chairwoman of Refugee Council USA, a coalition of groups that assist refugees.

The activists credit the administration for forging ahead with the resettlement of Syrian refugees despite the tremendous political pressure; Obama has in fact made some of the most impassioned comments of his presidency about refugees — even accusing Republicans of being "scared of widows and orphans."

The September summit gives refugee advocates another chance to boost momentum for their cause. Some groups are hoping in particular to rebuild trust in the refugee program among Republicans, with outreach efforts on Capitol Hill.

At the same time, the summit could re-ignite the partisan debate, especially on the presidential campaign trail.

During a speech on national security earlier this week, Trump again claimed the U.S. isn't really vetting Syrian refugees, and he blasted Clinton for wanting to let in more, saying it would lead to more crime.

“We have enough problems in our country. We don’t need another one,” he said.

London’s Islamist-Linked Mayor Elected by Migrants Tells U.S. Audience: ‘Immigrants Shouldn’t Assimilate’

London’s Muslim mayor Sadiq Khan has continued his pro-Hillary Clinton tour of the United States by declaring that immigrants into the West should not be forced to assimilate.

His comments come hot on the heels of the Chicago press exposing his connections to radical Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.

Mr. Khan, who was elected to be London’s mayor in May 2016, has also used his trip to claim that Republican candidate Donald Trump is “playing into the hands” of the Islamic State.

His trip runs contrary to the U.S. visit from former UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage, who presented an upbeat message of defeating the political establishment on stage with Donald Trump.

Instead, Mr. Khan insisted: “One of the lessons from around the world is that a laissez-faire or hands-off approach to social integration doesn’t work. We need rules, institutions, and support to enable people to integrate into cohesive communities and for the avoidance of doubt, I don’t mean assimilation, I mean integration, and there’s a difference”.

He added: “People shouldn’t have to drop their cultures and traditions when they arrive in our cities and countries”.

The United Kingdom, and especially areas of East London which overwhelmingly voted for Mr. Khan, is currently suffering from Muslim ghettoisation, horrific employment rates for Muslim women, an internal debate surrounding the banning of the burka, and ongoing issues such as female genital mutilation, anti-Semitism, and homophobia within Muslim communities.

Under Mr. Khan’s plans, none of these “cultures and traditions” would need to be dropped for Muslim migrants to Western countries.

According to VOA News, Mr. Khan called himself a “big fan” of Hillary Clinton, adding: “We play straight into the hands of those who seek to divide us, of extremists and terrorists around the world, when we imply that it’s not possible to hold Western values dear and to be a Muslim”.

Mr. Khan has been repeatedly criticised for connections with former Guantanamo Bay detainees, as well as known Muslim extremists in the United Kingdom. His appearances have been widely covered by Britain’s media, but are routinely ignored by the political establishment.

He has also pledged to ban images of women not covered up from advertisements on the London Underground (Tube).

Recently, Breitbart London revealed that Mr. Khan appointed an extremism-linked advisor to his City Hall team.

The 111% [sic] Security Force, a self-described militia, is planning an armed protest at the Newton County Courthouse this evening at 6 p.m.

Citing concerns about crowd control and hostile social media posts, Newton County commissioners canceled a Tuesday meeting where they planned to address a Muslim congregation’s proposal to build a burial ground and mosque.

“This decision was not taken without careful deliberation and consideration of concerns regarding crowd control and law enforcement regarding social media postings evidencing hostilities in the community,” read a statement posted to the county’s website Monday afternoon.

Although the commission didn’t say which social media post it viewed as hostile, a spokesperson for the Newton County Sheriff’s Department confirmed it was investigating whether a local militia’s opposition to the mosque and burial ground constitutes a threat.

On Sunday, the 111% Security Force held a protest on the grounds of County Line Baptist Church on Ga. 162, across the street from the 135-acre parcel purchased last year by a Muslim congregation from Doraville.

In a video of the protest posted online over the weekend, Henry County resident Chris Hill said the site was a proposed ISIS training camp and claimed Muslims are followers of the Antichrist. Another man hangs an American Flag from a tree on what appears to be property belonging to the Muslim congregation. The video has since been taken down.

Hill said he stood by his comments but took down the video because of “perception.”

“Hanging a flag on private property, the optics of that look bad, so we pulled it,” Hill said. “It was a little sensationalism. … I still have fundamental differences with Islam.”

Sheriff Ezell Brown decided to open an investigation after viewing the group’s video.

Hill, speaking before the county made its announcement, said his group planned a peaceful, armed protest at the historic county courthouse where the meeting was to take place. Reacting to news of the cancellation, he said he would hold the same protest at the next meeting.

The congregation of Masjid At Taqwa, represented by Al Maad Al Islami non-profit, bought the tract with the intention of building a cemetery, burial preparation facility and mosque. Al Maad Al Islami was issued a county permit in its name for a place of worship in June 2015 when it purchased the land.

But last month, the county commission issued a moratorium on new places of worship in response to local opposition to the project. The commission was expected to lift that moratorium Tuesday after more than a dozen groups complained to the Department of Justice.

The congregation’s imam, Mohammad Islam, said he has not reached out to law enforcement about the video or other threats he has received. He said he would prefer to meet with opponents face to face and lead by example.

“Whatever they want to say, I am ready to hear anything,” he said. “If they tell me ‘You’re a killer, you’re a terrorist,’ whatever, I will keep quiet and I want to listen. … This is the way that I teach my people: Be patient.”

As Hill and a small handful of mosque opponents were holding their protest Sunday, some 40 members of Masjid At Taqwa were mingling with area residents at the Epiphany Lutheran Church in nearby Conyers at the invitation of Pastor David Armstrong-Reiner.

Armstrong-Reiner called any invocation of the Antichrist in reference to Islam, “a complete misreading of scripture.”

“Anything which goes against love of neighbor, to me, is that which goes against Christ,” he said.

Local armed militia in a small US town forced a council meeting to be cancelled following growing security concerns over their presence.

The violent group of right-wing protesters carried guns into a local square to demonstrate against "the presence of Muslims" in the country

The meeting, which was expected to lift a ban on new places of worship, was called off amid growing tensions in Newton County, Georgia.

Five weeks ago a local Muslim group laid out construction plans for an Islamic cemetery, mosque and school - but it was met with anger from a loud minority of the town.

Several members of the so-called right-wing Georgia Security Force III% (GSF) posted a video on the weekend showing them trespass onto the site of the proposed cemetery and mosque school.

One member of the militia climbed a tree to hang an American flag on the property where the mosque would be built.

The group, led by local resident Chris Hill, is now under investigation from Homeland Security and local law enforcement.

Newton County manager Lloyd Kerr said the group were "exhibiting harassing or violent behavior".

She added: "Unfortunately, in today’s society, uncivil threats or intentions must be taken seriously."

Following this, nearly 30 members of the armed militia stormed the local town centre armed with machine guns, forcing the mosque meeting to be cancelled.

A local imam said "Islamophobic" public meetings had revealed a dark side of the small town.

Edward Ahmed Mitchell, from the local Georgia Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), said: "County leaders shouldn’t allow themselves to be bullied into canceling a public meeting on a controversial issue.

Mr Mitchell said that rumours about the mosque being used as a cover for "an ISIS training ground" have been used to attack the plans.

He added: "A small group of anti-Muslim extremists were able to frighten a government body into canceling a public meeting.

"That sends a dangerous message about the power of fringe extremists to affect elected officials.

"If American Muslims can stand up to these threats every day that we walk out of our houses, then a small group of elected officials can do the same . One protester Jim Stachowiak told an audience of reporters: “It’s a declaration of war against United States of America. Their ultimate goal is to impose Sharia law.”

Philip Morris added: "The Koran is nothing but hate speech."

Mr Hill, the gang's leader, who calls himself a "commanding officer" of the militia, added: "We're not here to intimidate. You're just seeing two different rights being exercised at the same time."

Obama Gives Citizenship To 1,800 Illegals

The real number of people who got citizenship instead of deportation from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is more than double what the media initially reported, a footnote in the report reveals.

More than 1,800 people who were supposed to be deported were mistakenly granted citizenship, the footnote discovered by CNN’s Jake Tapper in the DHS Inspector General report shows. That’s more than double the 858 number initially reported by the media.

The report focuses on the use of digital fingerprinting by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, which may explain why the 1,800 number was buried.

The IG report found 858 people were granted citizenship under a fake identity that was not discovered, in part because their digital fingerprints were not available. The other 953 people mentioned in the footnote were not included in that figure, because the IG couldn’t determine whether the mixup was specifically related to fingerprint records.

The footnote increases the number of people who should have been deported from 858 to 1,811. All of those individuals are from “special interest countries,” which U.S. officials are specially concerned about in terms of national security.

TEXAS: Muslim father of “Clockboy” who was arrested for bringing a homemade hoax bomb to school, is suing Fox News, Mayor of Irving, and Glenn Beck for defamation

Mohamed Mohamed, the father of Ahmed Mohamed — the Irving teenage troublemaker who became known as “clockboy” around the world after he was arrested for bringing a clock device that looked like a suitcase bomb to school — is suing several parties for defamation of his little terrorist-wannabe son. Not surprisingly, the litigation jihadists of CAIR are behind this scam.



Dallas News (h/t Larry A) Mohamed Mohamed filed a lawsuit against multiple media outlets and conservative political commentators, including TV host Glenn Beck and his television network, TheBlaze. He also sued FOX Television Stations and Irving Mayor Beth Van Duyne.

Mohamed Mohamed sued on behalf of himself and his son, arguing that commentators and media outlets were responsible for libelous statements after his son’s arrest in 2015.





“The Mohamed family are peaceful Muslims who have been falsely accused of being terrorists and engaging in a jihad,” the suit states. “The correction must also be made that the arrest and suspension of Ahmed Mohamed was not a stunt and it was not pre-planned, staged or engineered by anyone, including [his father].”

The lawsuit comes a month after the Mohamed family announced a federal lawsuit against the city of Irving and its school district, alleging that the boy’s rights were violated after Irving police mistook his homemade clock for a bomb.



Mohamed Mohamed took issue with comments Beck made during a show that aired on TheBlaze. The suit says the host offered the theory that the clock bomb story was part of a larger conspiracy, possibly to “turn Texas blue” politically.

Jim Hanson of the Center for Security Policy, who was also sued, agreed with him, according to the suit. “I don’t think there’s any question that this latest event was a PR stunt,” he said, adding that Ahmed Mohamed may have been a “pawn” of his father.



The suit accuses of Van Duyne of participating in that discussion on air without objecting to or correcting any of the statements.

On other occasions, the suit says, Van Duyne accused Mohamed of being uncooperative — something the lawsuit alleges was libelous.



All of these statements, the suit says, “were obviously hurtful to the Mohamed family.”

The suit also accuses political commentators Ben Shapiro and Ben Ferguson of making similar libelous statements on FOX channels.

“The public has been misled into believing that the Mohameds are terrorists who plotted to have the Irving police wrongfully arrest a teenage boy for bringing an alarm clock to school,” the lawsuit says. “These broadcasts irresponsibly fan the flames of fear and anger toward Muslims and immigrants.”

An Ethiopian immigrant who was working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Portland, Oregon is behind bars, charged with rape, unlawful sexual penetration and other sexual contact with patients who were 87 and 94 years old.

Around a half dozen other alleged victims came forward after the September 14 arrest of Adeladilew A. Mekonen and he is likely to face “many more charges,” the Washington County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to Breitbart News. As the online record of who is in custody in Washington County shows, the 34-year-old suspect is currently facing 18 charges.

Even more shocking: a lawsuit filed on behalf of the 87-year-old victim claims that many of the assaults could’ve been prevented had the hospital where the accused rapist worked acted after the 94-year-old victim told the hospital she had been raped back in June.

The lawsuit alleges that Providence St. Vincent Medical Center:

knew and had reason to know that Adeladilew Mekonen had abused and was likely to again sexually abuse ill and elderly female patients, including plaintiff, if he were allowed to be alone with them in their rooms, and yet defendant Providence directed and allowed Mekonen to continue to attend such female patients, including plaintiff, under such circumstances.

As the 87-year-old woman’s attorney Greg Kafoury told Portland TV station KOIN: “When you get an accusation as serious as this, you’re really supposed to do something about it,” Kafoury said about the hospital’s actions. “You’re not supposed to look for the first door out and try to look for a way to say it never happened.”

It is unclear what happened in June after the lawsuit claims the 94-year-old woman told the hospital she had been raped but Providence St. Vincent gave KOIN 6 News this statement:

Providence has been working closely with law enforcement and prosecutors in this ongoing investigation. As additional patients contacted us, we worked with Washington County detectives to connect patients with investigators and conduct interviews. We played a direct part in helping detectives take action in these new cases. Providence is committed to the safety of our patients and their families. In all of our hospitals, we have a team of people working to review and investigate any patient concerns we receive. We work every day to earn the trust of our patients, just as we have been doing for 160 years.

The suspect’s neighbor, Jeff Reed, expressed dismay to news station KATU, telling the station he was shocked to hear the allegations after Mekonoen’s arrest. “I thought he was a very nice guy, family oriented,” said Reed, who lives across from Mekonen at an apartment complex in Southeast Portland.

Mekonen had been working at the hospital since May, just a month before the first rape was allegedly reported.

Breitbart News has confirmed with the Washington County authorities that the suspect, Adeladilew Mekonen, told a detective that he came to the United States from Ethiopia in 2011.

Census: Record 42.4M immigrants, 23% of school kids, Muslims biggest jump

At 42.4 million, there are now more immigrants, legal and illegal, in America than ever before, fueled by a massive flood from Muslim nations, and the growing numbers are substantially impacting public services like public schools, according to a weighty new analysis of Census Bureau data.

One impact of note: There are 10.9 million students from immigrant households in public schools, accounting for 23 percent of all public school students, according to the Center for Immigration Studies.




And while the doors remain open on the U.S.-Mexico border, the biggest percentage increases in immigration are all from largely Muslim nations, a fact that has been drawn into the presidential election.

According to CIS authors Steven A. Camarota, director of research, and Karen Zeigler, a demographer: "The sending countries with the largest percentage increases in immigrants living in the United States from 2010 to 2014 were Saudi Arabia (up 93 percent), Bangladesh (up 37 percent), Iraq (up 36 percent), Egypt (up 25 percent), and Pakistan, India, and Ethiopia (each up 24 percent)."





The report breaks down the Census immigration reports of the last two years to determine where the legal and illegal immigrants are from, where they live, what they do, how much they make, their education and how births are adding to the population.

The latest data collected by the Census Bureau shows that 18.7 million immigrants arrived in the country from 2000 to 2014. Just between 2010 and 2014, 5.6 million immigrant arrived in the United States. The more than one million immigrants settling in the country each year have a very significant effect on many areas of American life. New immigration plus births to immigrants added more than eight million people to the U.S. population between 2010 and 2014, accounting for the overwhelming majority of population growth. Immigrants account for more than one in eight U.S. residents.

Children from immigrant households now account for nearly one in four public school students, almost one-third of children in poverty, and one-third without health insurance, creating enormous challenges for the nation's schools, health care system, and physical infrastructure. The large share of immigrants who arrive as adults with relatively few years of schooling is the primary reason so many live in poverty, use welfare programs, and lack health insurance.



The key highlights from the report:

— The nation's 42.4 million immigrants (legal and illegal) in 2014 is the highest number ever in American history. The 13.3 percent of the nation's population comprised of immigrants in 2014 is the highest percentage in 94 years.

— States with the largest percentage increases in the number of immigrants from 2010 to 2014 were North Dakota (up 45 percent), Wyoming (up 42 percent), Montana (up 19 percent), Kentucky (up 15 percent), New Hampshire (up 14 percent), and Minnesota and West Virginia (both up 13 percent).

— In 2014, 49 percent of maids, 47 percent of taxi drivers and chauffeurs, 33 percent of butchers and meat processors, and 35 percent of construction laborers were foreign-born.

— Almost one in three children (under age 18) in poverty have immigrant fathers.

— There are 64 public school students per 100 immigrant households, compared to 38 for native households. Because immigrant households tend to be poorer, immigration often increases school enrollment without a corresponding increase in the local tax base.

The blood-curdling brawl erupted just yards from the Stalingrad Metro station, where a squalid migrant camp has popped up following the demolition of the Jungle.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the early morning fight, but rival gangs of people smugglers have previously been involved in violent brawls in Calais.

And despite the horrific brawl, a pro-migrant rally is apparently being organised to take place at the camp at 6pm tonight.

Rival gangs of migrants smugglers have frequently bawled in France.

The once peaceful neighbourhood, in Paris' 10th Arrondissement, used to be a popular area with tourists, boasting a lively nightlife scene bustling with restaurants and bars.

But worried residents have revealed how it has become a no go zone in recent weeks following the establishment of the refugee camp, which has brought squalor and violence.

Thousands of migrants – mostly from Sudan, Libya, Afghanistan, and Eritrea – have pitched tents under the Metro station after the demolition of the Jungle hampered their attempts to reach Britain.

French police have tried and failed on many occasions to clear the squalid squat, but asylum seekers simply keep on returning and reestablishing it.

There are now nore than 2,500 migrants pitching up in the makeshift camp, with locals saying the eyesore is ruining their businesses and making life a "living hell".

Residents in the once popular district say that the squatters are now becoming increasingly violent and dangerous, with increased reports of muggings.

Faisal, a shopkeeper, told the French daily Le Figaro that Stalingrad locals are living in fear, threatening the future of his business.

He said: “The stench of urine, faeces, and rubbish has made Stalingrad an insalubrious place to live. The place is dead – no-one wants to come here anymore. People are afraid to go out and lock themselves in.

“I’m making less than €60 (£53) a day. A few more weeks like this and I’ll go bust!

“French people have been kind to them. I know they’re desperate, but the least they can do is respect the law and try and integrate into French society.”

Furious locals have demanded that the camp be closed once and for all, describing how they have heard "blood-curdling noises" coming from it in the middle of the night.

Marie, who lives right next to the makeshift camp, told Le Figaro: “Life here has become unbearable. More than 2,500 squatters were evacuated in September, and now, less than two months later, they’re back. And now that the ‘Jungle’ camp has been closed, things are about to get even worse.”

Another local, Monique, said that she was at “a loss for words” and “utterly distraught” over the situation.

She said: “The streets are littered with rubbish and faeces. We can hear blood-curdling screams coming from the camp in the middle of the night.

Obama is trying to sneak in thousands more Muslims before the door closes. And he's trying to get them anywhere he can. If Australia won't take in Muslims, Obama will show up asking the Aussies to send them on over.

The U.S. government has agreed to accept refugees being held in Nauru and Papua New Guinea’s Manus Island, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said Sunday. Mr. Turnbull didn’t disclose how many were likely to resettled by the U.S. or on what terms, but he stressed the arrangement wouldn’t be repeated or be extended to asylum seekers not already in the camps.

The conservative government has maintained a tough line on asylum seekers who have sought to cross the dangerous waters between Asia and Australia but has moved to empty the offshore immigration detention centers that critics have called Australia’s “Guantanamo Bay.” Negotiations in recent months with various countries to resettle the refugees became more urgent in April when Papua New Guinea’s highest court ordered the closure of Manus, ruling that hundreds of asylum seekers were being held there illegally on Australia’s behalf.

We’re not even being told the total numbers who will shortly be making their way to our shores, but the Journal notes that two of the camps located on Naru and Manus Islands currently hold a combined total of more than 1,300 of them. And where do these migrants come from? The majority are from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Iran and Sri Lanka.

OBAMA KNEELS TO AUSTRALIA, AGREES TO TAKE ALL OF THEIR ISLAMIC REFUGEES

Recently, America has begun taking in refugees fleeing from war torn countries such as Syria. This has caused controversy given that these refugees are coming from the same countries as those that have committed acts of terrorism against America.

On one side, we are told it is our duty to try and help and that we actually not doing enough. Scott Arbeiter, from the organization World Relief, wrote a piece for the New York Times claiming, “This year the United States will take in 85,000 of the world’s most vulnerable so they can begin new lives in America, the highest number since 2001. But at a time when 65 million people have been displaced by violence and 20 million of them are classified as refugees — more than half of them children — it is not enough.”

In September of last year, a Gallup Poll proved that does not represent the majority view. The poll argued that 70% of Americans oppose plans for the U.S. to take in at least 10,000 Syrian refugees who are trying to escape the civil war in their country.

Imagine if Hillary Clinton won this election and brought in more than 110,000 refugees annually.

The American people have a long history of reluctance to let in refugees from countries like this. This stance is often based on fear. In 1939, the United States turned away more than 900 Jews fleeing Hitler’s Germany because of worries that some might be Nazi conspirators or Communists. More than a quarter of those refugees died in the Holocaust.



While the sadness of that statistic hits hard, it remains that the American government’s first duty should be to our own citizens. In 1939 President Roosevelt realized this and unlike Obama, by 1940, Roosevelt abandoned his major resettlement efforts when he was forced to change his focus from humanitarian action to national security. Today, many in Congress have also recognized this danger and have blocked efforts by President Obama to allow even more people into our country.

Other countries have taken a hard stance against refugees, as well. Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has taken a strong and definitive stand when it comes to migrants or refugees from predominantly Islamic nations looking to make their way into his nation. Australia has set up some detention camps on islands off the coast of that continent where these uninvited guests are being housed after they are captured.

Now The Wall Street Journal is reporting a deal between the United States and Australians which should anger Americans as the government made an agreement that is shrouded in secrecy.


Turnbull stated that in a one-time deal, some of the hundreds of refugees being held in Australia-backed Pacific island camps are to be resettled in the U.S. Our government has agreed to accept refugees being held in Nauru and Papua New Guinea’s Manus Island.

Despite this story, we are left with many more questions than answers. One concern being exactly how many refugees will be brought to our country. There is no number being given yet. However in just two of the camps off of Australia, one of which is being shut down by their government, there are currently a combined total of more than 1,300 people.

The countries of origin of these asylum seekers raise even more alarms. The majority are from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Iran and Sri Lanka. We are talking about countries in which there is not much love and respect for America at the very least. In the extreme cases, these are the countries producing the terrorists who have openly attacked us.

While the Australian Prime Minister might be releasing some details, our government is uncharacteristically quiet. The only official who is quoted as having spoken about this deal is John Kerry, but it’s unclear if or how he was involved in the negotiations.

It is not logical to assume that the President and Congress were not heavily involved in this especially since Obama has always been openly in favor of this type of asylum.

“When I hear political leaders suggesting that there would be a religious test for which person who’s fleeing from a war-torn country is admitted when some of those folks themselves come from families who benefited from protection when they were fleeing political persecution, that’s shameful. That’s not American.”

Tweeting on the subject he said, “Slamming the door in the face of refugees would betray our deepest values. That’s not who we are. And it’s not what we’re going to do.” He also declared that, “American leadership is us caring about people who have been forgotten or who have been discriminated against or who’ve been tortured or who’ve been subject to unspeakable violence or who’ve been separated from families at very young ages. That’s when we’re the shining light on the hill.”

This demonstrates very little respect for his opponents on the subject who express safety concerns. Representative Vern Buchanan, a Republican from Florida, previously urged Obama to “immediately stop accepting Syrian refugees as a matter of national security.”

He wrote: “We are seeing a clear pattern in which a number of recent attacks have been carried out by ISIS terrorists with ties to Syria, including: the July 24 bombing of a music festival in Germany; the July 26 killing of a French priest; and the July 24 murder of a German woman with a machete. Syrian refugees played a part, either as attackers or accomplices, in all three attacks…Terrorists are leaving Syria disguised as refugees and carrying out attacks in the West. The prudent course of action is to halt all admissions of Syrians into the U.S. until the safety of Americans can be guaranteed.”

How can we tell?

This statement is representative of those who urge caution over blind amnesty. It also shines light on the fact that this program is not as safe as Obama and Democrats would have us believe.

We can expect to see some major changes in this current policy when President Elect Donald Trump takes office. He has often been compared to the Prime Minister of Australia who is currently ejecting the refugees from his country.

Donald Trump has already expressed his displeasure over the weak admission policies and has promised to strengthen them immediately. Our new President correctly identifies them as making it far too easy for terrorists to sneak through. There is no doubt President Trump will immediately address the problem of making our country more secure.

We are not a Nation if we do not secure our borders and our people.

October 1. Two migrants raped a 23-year-old woman in Lüneburg as she was walking in a park with her young child. The men, who remain at large, forced the child to watch while they took turns assaulting the woman.

October 2. A 19-year-old migrant raped a 90-year-old woman as she was leaving a church in downtown Düsseldorf. Police initially described the suspect as "a Southern European with North African roots." It later emerged that the man is a Moroccan with a Spanish passport.

October 2. Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble called for the development of a "German Islam" to help integrate Muslims in the country. In an opinion article published by Welt am Sonntag, he wrote:

October 6. Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported on a German intelligence study which found that almost half the German Salafists who left for Syria or Iraq were active in mosques. "The mosques continue to play a central role in the radicalization of Islamists in Germany," a spokeswoman for the German domestic intelligence agency, the Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz (BfV), said. The ongoing study analyzes the background and course of the radicalization of persons who left for Syria or Iraq. The study has collected data from 784 Islamists who left Germany or were actively trying to leave the country. The BfV estimates that there are 9,200 known Salafists in Germany.

October 6. More than 400 residents of the Altenessen district in Essen met local politicians in a televised "town hall meeting" to discuss spiraling violence and crime perpetrated by migrants in the area. Residents complained that police often refuse to respond to calls for help and begged city officials to restore order. One resident said: "I was born here and I do not feel safe anymore." City officials flatly rejected the complaints. Mayor Thomas Kufen said: "Altenessen is not a no-go area, the people here are just angry." Police Chief Frank Richter added: "I am sick and tired of hearing about no-go zones in Essen." He insisted that Essen und Altenessen are perfectly safe.

October 7. The Sarah Nußbaum Haus, a kindergarten in Kassel, announced that it would not be celebrating Christmas this year, "because of the high proportion of Muslim children." According to local media, there will be "no Christmas tree, no Christmas stories and no Christmas spirit." Non-Muslim parents said that celebrating Christmas is a normal "part of the integration process to get to know the new culture."
School officials responded by saying that because of the different cultures of the children, the school was "renouncing" Christian rituals. They also said that teachers at the school are now required to ensure that the children do not exchange their sandwiches, to prevent Muslim children from eating pork.

October 8. Welt am Sonntag reported that during the first six months of 2016, more than 2,000 migrants who requested asylum were found to be carrying false passports, but German border control officers allowed them into the country anyway. Migrants with false papers could be linked to the Islamic State, security analysts warned.

October 10. Jaber al-Bakr, a 22-year-old refugee from Syria, was arrested after police found explosives in his apartment in Chemnitz. He was suspected of plotting to bomb an airport in Berlin. Two days later, he hanged himself in a jail in Leipzig.

October 14. German President Joachim Gauck, who is stepping down for health reasons, said he believed that Germany will eventually have a Muslim president. Of the eleven German presidents so far, nine have been Protestant and two have been Catholic. Gauck's statement caused a stir in Germany. Some said that all German citizens are eligible for the position, regardless of confession, and others said a Muslim president would further divide society. Vice President of the European Parliament Alexander Graf Lambsdorff said: "A mullah with a turban would be impossible, but a representative of modern, enlightened Islam, such as the mayor in London, of course." The Office of the President told Bild that the oath of office would never be changed from "so help me God" to "so help me Allah."

October 14. Green Party politician Volker Beck called on Germans to learn Arabic so that they can communicate with migrants who do not speak German. When asked on NTV how migrants can integrate if there are no German speakers in many parts of German cities, he replied: "Other countries are more relaxed about the fact that, in some areas, a different language is spoken by a migrant community. In the US, you will find your Chinatown, you will find areas where Mexicans live, or whatever community is strong in a city." He also said it was good that German is not spoken in many German mosques. "Arab sermons are a piece of home," he said.

October 14. Volker Kauder, a key member of Chancellor Angela Merkel's party, threatened internet giants such as Facebook and Google with fines up to 50,000 euros ($53,000) if they fail to tackle online hate speech. The move comes amid a rise in anti-immigration sentiment in Germany.

October 15. A Syrian migrant disrupted a wedding at the Karmel Church in downtown Duisburg. He burst into the building and began fondling a statue of the Virgin Mary while shouting "Allahu Akhbar" ("Allah is the greatest.") After undergoing a psychological evaluation, the man was released. The incident is one of a growing number in which Muslim migrants have disrupted or vandalized German churches.

October 16. A 16-year-old boy and his 15-year-old girlfriend were walking along the banks of the Alster, a lake in the heart of Hamburg, when a stranger ambushed him from behind and plunged a knife into his back. The attacker then pushed the girl into the water and walked away. The girl survived, but the boy died of his wounds. The suspect, a "southern-looking" (südländischer Erscheinung) man in his early twenties, remains at large. Police say the victims were not robbed and there is no evident motive for the crime: The suspect appears to have randomly stabbed the boy just because he felt like it. The Islamic State later claimed responsibility for the murder, but German police cast doubt on that claim.

October 17. The German Press Council reprimanded the weekly newspaper, Junge Freiheit, for revealing the nationality of three Afghan teenagers who raped a woman at a train station in Vienna, Austria, in April 2016. The press council said the nationality of the perpetrators was "not relevant" to the case, and by revealing this information the newspaper "deliberately and pejoratively represented the suspects as second-class persons." In the interests of "fair reporting," the council demanded that the newspaper remove the offending item from its website. The newspaper refused to comply, and said it would continue to publish the nationalities of criminal suspects.

October 17. The German branch of Open Doors, a non-governmental organization supporting persecuted Christians, reported that Muslims are attacking Christians at refugee shelters throughout Germany. The NGO documented 743 incidents between May and September 2016, but said they were only the "tip of the iceberg." The report said:

"Many of the refugees concerned have previously been persecuted and discriminated against in their Islamic countries of origin and have therefore fled to Germany. The religious minorities in refugee accommodations are now experiencing the same oppression prevalent in their countries of origin."

October 17. The Federal Statistics Office reported that the birthrate in Germany reached the highest level in 33 years in 2015, boosted mainly by babies born to migrant women. The rate was 1.5 births per woman in 2015, up from 1.47 births in 2014, and the highest figure since 1982 when it was 1.51. For German women, the birth rate increased only slightly from 1.42 children per woman in 2014 to 1.43 in 2015. For women of foreign nationality, the rate increased from 1.86 to 1.95 children per woman.

October 18. Sigrid Meierhofer, the mayor of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, in an urgent letter (Brandbrief) to the Bavarian government, threatened to close a shelter that houses 250 mostly male migrants from Africa if public safety and order could not be restored. The letter, which was leaked to the Münchner Merkur, stated that local police had responded to more emergency calls during the past six weeks than in all of the previous 12 months combined.

October 18. Süddeutsche Zeitung reported that during the first eight months of 2016, more than 17,000 migrants sued the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) for not giving them full refugee status. Most Syrian refugees in Germany receive only partial asylum status, known as subsidiary protection, which delays family repatriations by at least two years. According to Süddeutsche, 90% of the refugees who challenged the subsidiary protection status in court won their case and were granted full rights under the Geneva Convention. Refugees with full status are allowed immediately to submit applications to bring spouses and children to Germany. If all of the 17,000 migrants win their cases, hundreds of thousands of additional migrants would be allowed to come to Germany.

October 19. Bild reported that a 49-year-old Syrian refugee in Rhineland-Palatinate is seeking social welfare benefits in Germany for his four wives and 23 children. The man, identified as Ghazia A., told Bild that "according to our religion, I have the duty to visit and be with each family equally, and not show any preferential treatment." Local officials told the newspaper that the family is integrating well and all of the children are going to school.

October 19. A 29-year-old migrant from Syria appeared in court on charges of sexually molesting ten children in Freiburg and Müllheim. The father of one of the victims took a photograph of the suspect, but police waited ten days before acting on the lead.

October 19. A 16-year-old German-Moroccan girl appeared in court on terrorism charges. In February 2016, when she was 15, she stabbed a police officer with a kitchen knife at the central train station in Hanover. Prosecutors say she was conducting a "martyrdom operation" for the Islamic State.

October 20. Pupils at a grade school in Garmisch-Partenkirchen were required to memorize and recite the shahada, the Muslim profession of faith ("There is no god but Allah, and Mohammed is his messenger."), in both German and Arabic, for an interfaith chapel service.

October 21. In an interview with Welt am Sonntag, Islam expert and Green Party member Kurt Edler said that Syrian migrants should be allowed to set up their own city in Germany as a way to prevent radicalization. He said: "Why do not we set up a New Aleppo in Pomerania? Then we can show that what the British and Irish emigrants have done in the North East of the USA is also possible with us."

October 24. A group of Serbian teenagers in Hamburg were handed suspended sentences for gang-raping a 14-year-old girl and leaving her for dead in sub-zero temperatures. The judge said that although "the penalties may seem mild to the public," the teens had all made confessions, appeared remorseful and longer posed a danger to society. The ruling, which effectively allowed the rapists to walk free, provoked a rare moment of public outrage over the problem of migrant sex crimes in Germany.

October 24. A YouGov poll found that 68% of Germans believe that security in Germany has deteriorated over the past several years. Also, 68% of respondents said they fear for their lives and property in German train stations and subways, while 63% feel unsafe at large public events.

October 25. Seven migrant boys, some as young as seven years old, sexually assaulted three girls (ages 9, 11 and 14) at a public swimming pool in Berlin.

October 25. The German edition of the Huffington Post published an article by a Syrian migrant named Aras Bacho in which he demanded that all signs and products in Germany be translated into in Arabic to make life easier for migrants. He wrote:

"As a refugee I believe that in Europe the street signs should be translated into Arabic. Likewise, food packaging should be in Arabic. It should also be possible to take exams in Arabic.... Most refugees have been driving in Syria. It would be helpful if the road signs were in Arabic. We should help these people more, no matter what it costs."

October 25. Police in five German states raided a dozen apartments and a refugee shelter as part of a counter-terrorism investigation. Fourteen Chechens, all asylum seekers who arrived in Germany in 2013, are at the center of a probe into "terrorist financing." No one was arrested.

October 25. A group of Muslim children shouting "Allahu Akbar" threw stones at a visiting Ethiopian priest who was walking to a chapel in Raunheim. Police said the priest was targeted because he was wearing a cross.

October 27. A ten-year-old girl was raped while she was riding her bicycle to school in Leipzig. Police published a facial composite of the migrant suspect with the politically correct warning: "This image is to be published only in print media products in the Leipzig region. Publishing it on the internet, including on social media such as Facebook, is not covered by the court order and is therefore not allowed."

October 27. Officials in Monheim donated 845,000 euros ($890,000) of taxpayer money to two Islamic associations, to build mosques in the town. The money will be used to purchase land for the mosques, the construction of which will be paid for by the Turkish government. Mayor Daniel Zimmermann said he hopes the mosques will promote Muslim integration. "I hope the mosques will be city-shaping and also architectural monuments," he said. The grant is subject to only one condition: the minarets must not be more than 25 meters (80 feet) high.

October 27. Deutsche Welle reported that the parents of a German teenager face prosecution for refusing to allow their son to enter a mosque during a school field trip. The parents were fined 300 euros ($315) for their son's truancy. The prosecutor's office in Itzehoe is now reviewing whether or not the parents should appear in court because they did not pay the fine. The school's principal, Renate Fritzsche, said that there are no exceptions to Germany's mandatory school law. The goal of education, Fritzsche emphasized, is to teach children about other cultures so they will be able to interact and tolerate them.

October 27. Berliner Zeitung reported that a 19-year-old Syrian migrant, identified only as Shaas Al-M., scouted out potential terror targets in Berlin for the Islamic State. He was allegedly actively recruiting assassins in Germany and was preparing to attack when he was arrested in March 2016. The man, who received religious and military training with the Islamic State in Syria, arrived in Germany in the summer of 2015 posing as a Syrian refugee.

October 28. Reuters reported that many Arab mosques in Germany are more conservative than those in Syria. The report states: "A dozen Syrians in six places of worship in three cities told Reuters they were uncomfortable with very conservative messages in Arabic-speaking mosques. People have criticized the way the newcomers dress and practice their religion, they said. Some insisted the Koran be interpreted word-for-word."
October 28. A mob of 17 Muslim migrants sexually assaulted two women in front of a church in Freiburg. Police arrested three of the men, all from Gambia, who arrived in Germany as refugees in 2015 and had previously been detained for other crimes.

October 28. Der Spiegel reported that Justice Minister Heiko Maas wants to make it easier for German courts to void child marriages. There currently are 1,475 married adolescents in Germany; 361 of them are younger than 14 years, 120 are 14 or 15 years old. According to German law, young people above the age of 16 may marry, but only if the other spouse is 18 and a family court gives a so-called exemption. Maas wants to tighten the criteria for this. The exemption is to be granted only "if the intended marriage does not affect the welfare of the applicant." Günter Krings (CDU), parliamentary secretary of state, said the measure does not go far enough. "For the sake of clarity of our legal system, we should consistently ensure that no marriages with minors can be concluded in our country, even in exceptional cases," he said.

October 31. A 53-year-old woman attacked two police officers after they entered her apartment in Mülheim. The officers were checking in on her after she had allegedly thrown furniture out the window. When she refused to open the door, the officers broke it down. Once inside the apartment, the veiled woman attacked them with a box-cutter while shouting "Allahu Akbar" ("Allah is the greatest.") Police said the woman was a Muslim convert and was already familiar to police after a series of earlier incidents linked with Islamic extremism.

Premier Hate Group SLPC Seeks to Shut down Facts about Obama’s Muslims Resettlement Program

The Southern Poverty Law Center, a group I often refer to as the premier hate group, is not looking to silence debate over Barack Obama’s Muslim resettlement program because the facts are coming out.

The Southern Poverty Law Center is teaming up with local Detroit media to paint a Maryland-based journalist as an anti-Muslim “extremist” and “Islamophobe” simply because he has produced fact-based research on the U.S. government’s refugee resettlement program.

James Simpson has been invited to speak at the annual Business Roundtable Breakfast in Oakland County, one of several counties in Michigan that have been pummeled with refugees from the Middle East over the last eight years of the Obama administration.

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson, who won re-election in a landslide on Nov. 8, has been a vocal critic of the refugee program, threatening to sue the administration for violating the Refugee Act of 1980. Under Obama, the feds have distributed thousands of refugees into Oakland County without advance notice to Patterson and other local government officials. Once the federal month that follows the refugees runs out, Oakland County taxpayers are left holding the bag for the education and welfare of the refugees.

But the SPLC’s attack stance has now frightened away one of the Roundtable event’s main sponsors, the Fifth Third Bank.

Simpson, who is the author of The Red-Green Axis: Refugees, Immigration and the Agenda to Erase America, has been invited to speak at the annual economic forum by Mr. Patterson. He is also a research fellow at Frank Gaffney’s Center for Security Policy in Washington, DC.

Mr. Patterson drew fire from the SPLC, as well as Mr. Simpson. However, stirring things up seems to be exactly what Mr. Patterson was after.

“Mr. Simpson was invited to speak at the Oakland County Business Roundtable precisely because he is provocative,” said Patterson. “It’s not about whether one agrees with him, but it’s about stimulating meaningful conversation on a timely and important topic in our country. It would be rather Orwellian to exclude him. After all, this is still the United States of America where the First Amendment protects even the most contentious speech.”

I like how this man thinks! It appears I’m not the only one.

“James Simpson is author of ‘The Red-Green Axis: Refugees, Immigration and the Agenda to Erase America,'” said Pamela Geller, author of Stop the Islamization of America. “That’s why the bank withdrew its sponsorship,” Geller told WND. “If a hard-left speaker had been invited, the bank would have had no problem. But those who speak the truth on the right are increasingly ostracized, demonized, and marginalized. The bank is justifiably afraid that leftist thugs will target it for protests, boycotts, etc. But it should stand up to these fascists instead of caving in to them.”

Geller knows what she is talking about. She has been threatened with death by the most outspoken imam in the UK, plotted against to behead her and even had an event of hers targeted by two Islamic jihadists in Texas.

Geller continues to stand and be an outspoken voice against Muhammad, true Islam, and its jihad doctrine.

“What we’re dealing with are faux, self-righteous indignation and really they [at Fifth Third Bank]don’t have the guts to stand up to these people who use vicious tactics, and we need to be stronger than that now,” Simpson told WND.

Simpson claims the SPLC and those supporting the current refugee resettlement program are doing nothing more than using Saul Alinsky tactics just like Barack Hussein Obama Soetoro Sobarkah has been employing the last eight years.

It’s “guerrilla warfare” against anyone who challenges their agenda, he told WND.

“Of course, Ann Corcoran, the Center for Security Policy and I are all irredeemable deplorables for our stance against open borders and the Islamization of America,” he said.

Bill Mullan, spokesperson for Patterson, said that the community that Mr. Patterson serves in is home to 1,050 foreign-owned companies from 39 countries around the world.

“We celebrate legal immigrants. We even open our doors to refugees from anywhere in the world as long as they have been properly vetted and screened for homeland security and public health concerns,” Mullan said.

“We support refugee resettlement that complies with the Refugee Act of 1980,” he added. “But Federal law mandates that the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement “must consult and coordinate refugee resettlement with state and local governments. The ORR has already placed hundreds of refugees in Oakland County without that consultation and coordination taking place. Why is that a concern? The Islamic State has said it is seeding these waves of refugees with its own agents and terrorists. Plus, there have been a number of cases of refugees arriving with communicable diseases, with at least one in Oakland County.”

“The Oakland County Executive bears the responsibility of protecting the safety, security, and health of all residents,” Mullan concluded. “Please join us in supporting refugee resettlement that complies with the Refugee Act of 1980.”

This is what is being missed. This is not an issue of ethnicity. It’s an issue of ideology we are dealing with. First, we are dealing with the ideology of Islam. Second, we are dealing with a lawless ideology from Marxists and those who wish to advance an anti-American agenda. The SPLC is known for both. Stand strong Mr. Patterson and Mr. Simpson! 99,726 Somali Refugees Settled in U.S. Since 9/11

(CNSNews.com) – Nearly 100,000 Somali refugees have been admitted into the United States since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, including 9,020 during fiscal year 2016 and 2,279 in the last two months alone.

According to the State Department’s Refugee Processing Center database, between the al-Qaeda terror attacks in September 2001 and today, 99,726 Somali refugees have been resettled in the U.S.

Of those refugees, 99.6 percent are Muslims, reflecting the religious makeup of Somalia’s population, which is almost entirely Muslim, predominantly Sunni.

The largest numbers of Somali refugees arriving in the country since 9/11 have been settled in Minnesota (almost 16,000) and Ohio (more than 7,500), with sizeable communities also in Texas, New York and Arizona.

Monday’s attack on the Ohio State University campus in Columbus, Ohio, was carried out by a student who, according to law enforcement officials, was a Somali refugee who came to the U.S. in 2014, after living for several years in Pakistan.

Abdul Razak Ali Artan drove his car into pedestrians before getting out and stabbing people with a butcher knife, injuring eleven people in total. A police officer shot and killed him.

The terror attack comes two months after a 20-year-old college student – the U.S.-raised son of refugees from Somalia – stabbed 10 people at a Minnesota shopping mall before an off-duty police officer shot and killed him.

In a campaign stop in Minnesota shortly before the November 8 election, Republican nominee Donald Trump pointed to the mall attack and accused the administration of “faulty refugee vetting.”

During October alone, 1,352 Somali refugees were admitted to the U.S., where they were resettled in 38 states and the District of Columbia. The biggest groups were located in New York State (138), Minnesota (135) and Ohio (93).

Those 1,352 Somali refugees constituted 13.5 percent of the total number of refugees from around the world (9,945) admitted to the U.S. in October. They were also second largest group from any country admitted that month, behind a 2,081-strong contingent from the Democratic Republican of the Congo.

Since the beginning of November, another 927 Somali refugees have arrived, settling in 33 states, with the largest groups in Minnesota (137), New York (103) and Missouri (75).

The 9,020 Somali refugees admitted during FY 2016, which ended on September 30, comprised the largest annual admission of Somalis under the refugee program in a decade. Not since 2006 (10,357) has a larger group arrived.

For more than 20 years Somalia was not under the control of a single national government. The eventual establishment of a central federal government in 2012 has brought neither stability nor an end to the terrorist offensive waged by al-Shabaab, an al-Qaeda affiliate.

Al-Shabaab’s deadly campaign at home has had a spillover in the Somali-American community. Over nearly a decade the FBI has recorded cases of several dozen young Somali-American men from Minneapolis-Saint Paul having traveled to Somalia to join the terrorist group.

Last year nine young Somali-Americans were arrested on suspicion of plotting to join the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS/ISIL). Six of them pleaded guilty and the other three were later convicted of plotting to join ISIS and commit murder abroad.

Over recent months ISIS has called on supporters around the world to carry out “lone wolf” attacks in their home countries.

Terrorist ‘breeding ground’

The State Department maintains that the vetting process for refugees is the most robust of any for people applying to travel to the U.S., involving security agency screening as well as biometrics, and taking 18-24 months to clear an applicant to enter the U.S.

As is the case for refugees from other parts of the world, a Somali wishing to apply for refugee status and resettlement in the U.S. must be referred to the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program – usually by the U.N. refugee agency, UNHCR.

Most Somali refugee applicants are based in neighboring Kenya, where the UNHCR’s Dadaab camp in the east of the country is described as the world’s largest. The agency recently confirmed a camp population of 283,558 refugees, the vast majority of them Somalis. (Somalis also apply for resettlement in the U.S. from Ethiopia and parts of southern Africa.)

Dadaab has become notorious for its insecurity, and Kenyan officials say al-Shabaab terrorists are known to operate there. Some international humanitarian agencies have withdrawn their staff, and the Kenyan government has said a number of times that it wants to close the camp, describing it as a “breeding ground” for terrorism.

Some Somalis have been repatriated, but Kenyan authorities have come under pressure from the U.N. and the Obama administration not to close the camp, including pressure from Secretary of State John Kerry during a visit to Kenya last year.

In its report to Congress on proposed refugee admissions for FY 2017, the Obama administration says that almost 5,500 Somali refugees will leave Kenya for the U.S. this year, most of them residents of Dadaab and another camp in Kenya’s far north-west, Kakuma.

The report also says that security in Dadaab is so bad, officials from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) – a component of the Department of Homeland Security – are unable to interview refugee applicants there. Instead they are taken to Kakuma for that purpose.

“PRM [the State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration] continues to fund movements of refugee applicants from Dadaab to Kakuma for the purposes of DHS/USCIS interview and adjudication, since DHS/USCIS staff cannot work at Dadaab due to the security conditions,” the report states.

“Applicants return to Dadaab for medical exams and other post-DHS/USCIS steps until their departure for the United States.”

The administration’s report to Congress does not include a proposed number of Somali refugee admissions for FY 2017. But it does say that Somalia and the DRC continue to account for the “vast majority” of refugee admissions from African countries.
