Thanks Beetle. That is insightful. There needs to be a whole lot more explaining done. And high school economics classes should teach Americans a whole lot more than supply and demand. This is so devastatingly huge and yet most of us didn't even have a clue it was coming. For easy access, here's that video:

Bad idea... very bad. Good video- saw it twice. Actually I prefer the group from the site BB fed us and researched.

Why a bad idea? Undecided voters vote w/ their emotions and often on a issue that matters to them personally- such as who will give them a bigger refund or who is the least dirty rotten politician of the two.

Watch the video again. Skip the facts, the pauses- most folk wont recognize the acronyms or figger out what's goin on. It might work as a radio ad if explained and edited.

Objectively the video appears racially biased. That's what it LOOKS like. Additionally- neither McCain who deserves some credit nor Obamma who deserves a demerit are seen.

I believe I knew this monster was on it's way for some time and but some boards on the net if you mentioned Ron Paul you were called a nut and Ron Paul has been talking about this for quite some time. Another board that I hang on is full of folks for years who have been talking about this but they don't tote the line for any political party and actually know the score with both sides of the bankers coin. If this board and FR is only one you go to then It's no wonder why your so clueless and surprised. The truth is what they tell you...

Ron Paul has some good ideas (mostly domestic) and some pretty bad ideas (mostly foreign relations). Ron Paul's other problem is that he expects too much in one fell swoop. I laud his efforts to roll back the government to its roots but, what he wants is the equivalent of trying to take a spinal cord injury victim and having them run the Boston Marathon the day after surgery rather than having them work their way through rehab, a return to daily life, and then perhaps the marathon later down the road.

The only reason anyone would be shocked about the current state of affairs is because, truth be told, this issue was a backburner issue compared to other current events (terrorism, OEF, a growing China, a resurgent Russia, etc.). Clearly as the video shows, the people who were tasked with worrying about such issues and solving them were. And those people were the Republicans. What I think you are largely seeing here is not shock but outrage at how Socialism begets even more Socialism.
