I just got a new (to me) laptop that uses a widescreen display.
I would like to have a widescreen, but at present we have only a standard 17" screen. I am thinking of asking Congress for a widescreen bailout however.![]()

If I had the money I would be using a widescreen LCD.
My work screen resolution is 2680x1050 (2 displays but I view web on 1400x1050 = 4:3)
My home is a single 22inch 1680x1050 which is a 16:10 widescreen.
Laptop, 21" widescreen LCD, and 32" TV via VGA. Also hooked up to a 70" TV for gaming, but it was just too much.
You need to modify the poll to say:
Widescreen
Standard
Both
Cuz I use both. Depends on where I am. This is a 17" regular monitor. At home I have a 19" wide (which is actually like 21 across and 18 or so vertical).

I wanted to get a handle on who is viewing this site on what type of display because up until I got this new laptop with a widescreen display, I hadn't realized that for widescreen users, that the navbar and home page graphic are only suited to standard screen users.
Something we'll have to look into changing to better accommodate all users.
widescreen 19" at work
widescreen 22" at home
on a side note, if you set up google analytics you can gather all sorts of handy information, including screen resolution. if you don't have that set up i can help you out, i have a few sites that i use it on and it's pretty nice to have.
Sheesh...I can't even answer the question.
I'm using a Pavilion mx70.
My old computer went bye-bye, and when I bought a new computer, I discovered I could use the old monitor. I see no reason to replace something that works.
That would be a standard screen Backstop.![]()
Thank you sir.
I am eternally indebted to you.
And I voted.

Okay, made a small change that should help the site look better on widescreens.
I added a red background to the top nav bar that matches the red in the buttons. That way the nav bar appears to correctly span the screen. Everything else looks like it fits fine.
I'll try to remember to check when I go home.
I use two monitors on my main PC. The two monitors operate independently of one another (so I can bring up a browser on one, and game on the other screen for instance) and both monitors are wide-screen.

At work i have a standard monitor but i do nearly all my browsing at home. At home, i am ALWAYS on my laptop, which is a widescreen.
