    Flash Mob Robs Maryland 7-Eleven
    August 16, 2011

Police in Maryland are now investigating a so-called "flash mob robbery" of a 7-Eleven in Germantown, a city 20 miles outside of Washington, D.C.

Montgomery County police say it happened around 1:45 a.m. Sunday morning. That's when more than two dozen teenagers entered the store and stole snacks, drinks and other items. They immediately left the store a minute later without paying.

Police have now identified several of the suspects through surveillance video. However, a police spokeswoman says she doesn't know how the robbery was organized.

Anyone with information on the robberies is urged to call the Montgomery County Police Department at 240-773-TIPS (8477) or 866-411-TIPS (8477).

Criminal Flash Mob Robs D.C. Store
    August 19, 2011

Security cameras capture two groups of girls as they walk into a Northeast D.C. store.

Then the ten fill their shopping bags and hands and race out the door.

"They took the snacks, soda chips, Ice cream," store manager Muhammad Butt said.

It is the third time in two weeks that the mob of girls hit the Shop Express. The last time, staff says, the group was larger. Each time, the girls struck overnight.

"That's terrible. 10 of them! That's awful," said Jasmine Wilson.

Police haven't identified any of the teens yet. The latest incident comes on the heels of a flash mob robbery in Germantown.

"Maybe it is a copy cat. They've seen others get away with it. Maybe they think they can get away with it,” Mitzy Sweet mused.

The store is open 24 hours. It is located on busy corner of Benning Road and Minnesota Avenue Northeast. The store manager is considering cutting back on store hours and closing at night.

"That would be a bummer because this is our community store we come all times of day and night," Sweet said.

"This is really bad for our business … we are really very upset," store manager Butt said.

Fox News Poll: 51% Expect Major Political Uprisings in U.S. in Next Ten Years

    By Dana Blanton
    Published September 01, 2011
    | FoxNews.com
Most American voters think the U.S. political system is broken, and more than half think major political uprisings like those recently seen elsewhere around the world are likely to happen in the United States in the next decade.

These are some of the findings from a Fox News poll released Thursday.

Less than a quarter of voters (22 percent) think the U.S. political system is working the way it is supposed to work with different sides fighting hard for what they believe. Most -- 74 percent -- say the system is broken and gridlocked.

Democrats (82 percent), independents (71 percent) and Republicans (67 percent) alike say the political system is broken.

Click here to see the full results of the poll.
This unhappiness with the system leads 51 percent of voters to think it is at least somewhat likely there will be “major political uprisings” in the United States in the next 10 years. That includes 22 percent who think they are “very likely.”

Those most likely to foresee such uprisings include white evangelicals, voters without a college degree, those who are part of the Tea Party movement, lower-income voters, and those living in rural areas of the country.

Yet despite dissatisfaction with the U.S. political system, and concerns about where it may lead, just 10 percent say they want “revolutionary” change in the nation’s government. That’s about the same number as the 8 percent who want “small” change. Another 21 percent want “modest” change. Over half describe the change they want to see in the government as either “substantial” (34 percent) or “dramatic” (23 percent).

One change voters want to see is less gridlock. If they were in Congress and working on an important but divisive issue, a 61 percent majority says they would give in and try to find compromise. Three voters in ten would stick to their principles and vote their conscience (30 percent).

Voters who are part of the Tea Party movement are the only subgroup with a majority (51 percent) saying they would stick to their principles instead of compromising.

The Fox News poll is based on landline and cell phone interviews with 911 randomly chosen registered voters nationwide and was conducted under the joint direction of Anderson Robbins Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R) from August 29 to August 31. For the total sample, it has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Socialists Plan to Rage Against Freedom on Constitution Day

By Bob Ellis on September 2nd, 2011
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse than the spectacle of idiocy, self-centeredness, greed and anti-Americanism seen in Madison, Wisconsin last winter, now comes a “Day of Rage” planned for our nation’s Constitution Day on September 17. Watch the video below for a better look at what they have planned.
Yes, on the day most Americans (the patriotic ones) celebrate the document which founded the most free and effective government in history, that guarantees the liberties of the most free people in history, some spoiled children among us will rage against all that freedom and prosperity.
What it comes down to for these Marxists is this: if they don’t have everything that the wealthiest among us has, and handed to them on a platter without having to work for it, they will rage against the freedom of their fellow Americans to have more property than them. These spoiled children are the epitome of self-centeredness and greed, being too lazy to go out and create their own fortune, but too narcissistic to tolerate the fact that another person has more or has earned more.
We saw this ugly battle for free spoils rage in the capital of Wisconsin over the winter as Governor Walker and the legislature worked to bring an end to the gravy train government unions had enjoyed for decades in that state. Though Wisconsin–like most states and our federal government–was facing a fiscal crisis, entitlement-minded Marxists were unwilling to sacrifice anything from their free ride. They made it vociferously clear that they expected the taxpayers to continue forking over cash to pay for their goodies, whether those goodies met fair market value or not.
A great victory for fiscal responsibility was eventually won in Wisconsin, but obviously the battle is not over.
Even before the dust had settled in Wisconsin, we were seeing that self-centered Marxists across America were throwing tantrums by protesting in front of the homes of the leaders of large free market businesses, and going into those businesses to disrupt commerce.
Now, with this “Day of Rage” move to “occupy Wall Street” on Constitution Day, the takers have targeted the symbol of American prosperity with their greed. As is often the case with liberals, one has to wonder whether they were smart enough to realize the day they picked was Constitution Day…or whether they deliberately chose that day to further thumb their nose at the American way of life.
Yesterday, Fox News announced the results of a poll which found that 51% of Americans expect major political uprisings in the next 10 years.
Most — 74 percent — say the system is broken and gridlocked.
If only 51% believe this, the other 49% must be out to lunch, because we’ve already seen both positive and negative displays of major political uprising in the past two years.
On the positive side, the Tea Party movement sprang up from nothing a little more than two years ago in the face of a Marxist president and Marxist congress that made it immediately clear that they planned to “transform America,” and that they planned to transform it in a way that had nothing to do with following the U.S. Constitution. Thousands if not millions of Americans rose up peacefully on Tax Day in April of 2009 and made it clear that they would not stand for the socialization of the United States. This movement brought about a historic shift in power in Washington in the 2010 elections.
On the negative side…well, we’ve already briefly discussed the infantile display in Madison, Wisconsin, and isolated displays here and there across America. And now there is this “Day of Rage” (which should be called the “Day of Narcissism” or the “Day of Greed”) planned on a national level.
Major political uprising is already here, folks, and it marks a flashpoint in what has been a cold war between two basic ways of life: the American way of life involving freedom and opportunity, and the Marxist way of life involving government domination of every aspect of our lives. If the American people expect to keep hold of their freedom and heritage, we will see more of this conflict, because the takers have made it clear they will not go quietly into the night. No, they have most assuredly not given up on their glorious socialist revolution–either through peaceful or violent means
But many of the people who answered that poll are fundamentally mistaken about something: the American political system is not broken. No, it remains the best political system ever devised by human beings (with a little help from Divine Providence, as Benjamin Rush might have agreed).
Rather, it is we human beings who are broken. When our political system was crafted, we were a moral and religious people. Despite modern propaganda to the contrary, almost all of the founders were Bible-believing Christians, and the American people in general were predominately committed Christians.
Our political system was founded for a people who adhered to a moral code that led them to discipline and restrain themselves for the most part. Benjamin Franklin once made a statement which, probably better than anything, sums up precisely why the American system was possible to begin with, and why it worked so well for most of our history: “Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.” Because we would restrain ourselves from moral transgression, we had less need of government to force us to behave.
Now that we have made the decision as a nation some 60 years ago to reject our Christian heritage and way of life, we are seeing a deterioration of morality and self-restraint in our nation. We are paying the price not only with more arrests, more jails and more taxpayer expenditure, but also in more government…and a corresponding loss of freedom.
No, our political system is not broken. More than 200 years ago, John Adams explained the problem we face:
We have no government, armed with power, capable of contending with human passions, unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge and licentiousness would break the strongest cords of our Constitution, as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.
We usually think of “morality” in terms of the immoral manifestations that have taken hold of our culture in recent decades, such as homosexuality and general displays of sexual debauchery. But there is another type of morality which I think Adams had in mind, at least in the back of his head, when he said this.
You see, a nation cannot survive if the people are possessed of greed for things they have not earned, if they are covetous of the property of their fellow citizens. If citizens are willing to surrender their freedom and vote for corrupt politicians on the basis of their belief that the corrupt politician will extend to them some small share in the loot of the taxpayers, then we are lost.
It remains to be seen whether the renewal of public expression of the American spirit begun in the Tea Party movement has the energy and tenacity to continue. In fact, if there aren’t more than those who have already stepped forward for freedom, we have to ask ourselves if enough true Americans really remain to make it possible to save our country.

    An American Spring Begins

‘Bay of Rage’ – Protesters Planning to Swarm BART Station

In this photo from Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, Jevon Cochran, left, and protesters stand in the door of a Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) train at the Civic Center station in San Francisco. Rather than resort to another shutdown of subway cellular service to deter protesters, the San Francisco Bay Area’s transit agency closed down stations in the path of marchers, inconveniencing thousands of evening commuters. Bay Area Rapid Transit officials said they undertook the strategy to protect public safety on train platforms. (AP Photo/Jeff Chiu)

San Francisco and Oakland’s Bay Area Rapid Transit system (BART)blocked cell phone signals in an effort to control mobs and protesters. While the debate about the wisdom of blocking communication systems continues, the protesters are moving forward with various plans to try and impose their demands on the transit system.

Today, September 8th, plans are in place for a protest called “Spare The Fare” that will test the limits of the public transit system and the police officers charged with protecting the riders and employees of BART. The details are covered on Day of Rage website (a self-declared clearinghouse for anti-capitalist thinking).
    recently

    “Spare The Fare” is explained:
We are calling on anarchists, anti-authoritarians, and radicals (and everyone else) to step up for our “SPARE THE FARE” BART action, this Thursday at 5:00 PM at Powell Street Station. We have one demand, which is that the BART police department be shutdown.
The idea is to gather so many people outside the turnstiles that traffic will be hampered to the point that BART officials will be forced to open the emergency gates. This allows everyone to walk onto the trains without a ticket. If BART chooses to close the station, protesters have plans to move to another station and do the same thing.

Instead of solving the problem of a couple of bad police officers among the BART Police staff, these groups are demanding that BART Police be completely disbanded.

The protest also has the support of a group called “Feminists Against Cops” – this organization sees any police force as a threat:
As Feminists against Cops, we want everyone across the bay area to know that women are not safer because of police presence, in BART or elsewhere. Quite the opposite. Many women are in danger because of the police. Every police institution is sexist and violent. The police are more of a threat to women than a protection, and we do not want our public transport system militarized.
Seriously? This group believes that “EVERY police institution is sexist and violent.” But the Feminists Against Cops are also against paying fares for using the transit system:
The ridiculous BART fares are a burden for people who struggle for survival. We evade fares because we claim the right to be able to move freely even if we don’t have the money to pay the fares. Since evading fare is part of how we survive and move freely, then this also means that in order to survive and move freely, we must resist police.
The “evade fares” thinking is not new to the Anti-Capitalist crowd, back on August 5th of this year, the following demands were on a printed hand-out distributed at something called a “propaganda action” at the corner of 16th & Mission Streets.
    two simple demands
COPS OFF THE TRAINS AND BUSES
    FREE TRANSIT FOR EVERYONE
“Free transit” appears to be at the center of this movement, and the rationale for this demand is also explained for the curious:
We can’t afford to pay the fare, and we have other **** to spend our money on even if we could. We jump the turnstiles, board through the back door, and buy transfers on the street.
We have places to go: jobs to get to, lines to wait in at the food stamp office, parole officers to see, charges to beat, streets to sweep, lonely parents to see. We need a ride because our legs can’t take us that far anymore, or because we just didn’t want to walk on the street wearing a skirt and heels, or because we’re black and brown and know the cops don’t need any more reason to **** with us.
They also include some plans for making all of this happen, and it includes violence, vandalism and blatant criminal behavior:
STOP PAYING FARES: board through the back door, jump the turnstiles. Keep one clipper card to swipe if you see the inspectors board. If you get caught, buy a transfer on the next bus and send it in with your ticket.

NO CONTROL: spray paint the cameras, smash the ticket machines, break the card readers, black-out the snitch-lines.

HAVE EACH OTHER’S BACKS: open the back door or emergency exit, share your transfer, and never snitch!

GET TOGETHER: Drivers, riders, poor people, unemployed people, those of us that are targeted and harassed by cops – we need to meet up, to make plans together, to fight together to get rid of the transit police and make public transit free.
The “Feminists Against Cops” want more than free public transit, they seem to want free everything:
If we want food, we simply need to take it. If we want houses, we need to take them as well. If we want to move freely – without fares or fear of death – we need to take direct action to eliminate fares and the police. If we want free trains, we simply need to make them free.
More than a year ago, Glenn Beck warned that “The Coming Insurrection” – a textbook for bringing down Capitalism – fueled the riots in the streets of Europe, was coming to America. It appears that groups like Feminists Against Cops and that advocate for free transportation, free food, and housing are working to make Beck’s prediction a reality.

Mayor Bloomberg predicts riots in the streets if economy doesn't create more jobs

By Erin Einhorn and Corky Siemaszko
    DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER
    Friday, September 16th 2011, 12:15 PM

    Spencer Platt/Getty
Mayor Bloomberg is sounding the alarm bell over the nation's struggling economy.

Mayor Bloomberg warned Friday there would be riots in the streets if Washington doesn't get serious about generating jobs.

"We have a lot of kids graduating college, can't find jobs," Bloomberg said on his weekly WOR radio show.

"That's what happened in Cairo. That's what happened in Madrid. You don't want those kinds of riots here."

In Cairo, angry Egyptians took out their frustrations by toppling presidential strongman Hosni Mubarak - and more recently attacking the Israeli embassy.

As for Madrid, the most recent street protests were sparked by widespread unhappiness that the Spanish government was spending millions on the visit of Pope Benedict instead of dealing with widespread unemployment.

Bloomberg's unusually alarmist pronouncement came as President Obama has been pressuring reluctant Republicans to pass his proposed job creation plan.

"The damage to a generation that can't find jobs will go on for many, many years," the normally-measured mayor said.

Bloomberg gave Obama kudos for coming up with a jobs plan.

"At least he's got some ideas on the table, whether you like those or not," he said. "Now everybody's got to sit down and say we're actually gonna do something and you have to do something on both the revenue and the expense side."

And everybody's got to share in the pain.

The streets of Cairo erupted in violence this spring. (AP Photo)

"When you start picking and choosing which groups do and do not, that's when it becomes unfair in a lot of people's minds," the mayor said. "But we're all in this together."

Obama didn't create this economic mess, it developed "over long periods of time," Bloomberg said.

Obama's approval rating has sunk along with the economy, but the ratings of the Republicans who have stymied his attempts repair the damage are even worse, most polls show.

Already, House Speaker John Boehner, an Ohio Republican, has drawn a line on raising taxes on the rich to pay for Obama's proposed $447 billion jobs plan, which aims to help the middle class.

Not really true there Peterle. I know a whole lot of people right now who work in the construction industry. Out of work because there's no market for new houses. There is some repair work going on, but people are getting stingy and not wanting to pay for stuff.

There are a lot of road construction projects throughout the country that local and states aren't paying for "because they didn't get their federal funds".. the thing is, those federal funds CAME ORIGINALLY FROM THOSE STATES.

Businesses are not hiring people they normally would have at this time of year because they aren't making a profit because no one is BUYING things.

People are scared to spend their money.

We aren't talking Italy, Peterle, we're talking about America.

While the world seems to have this penchant for interconnecting everything, jobs in the US are still jobs in the USA and they have mostly gone.

You have a bad view of Americans.

None of us, aside from me on this forum that I'm aware "work at a desk". And I don't actually WORK at my desk. I work in the field. I do electrical/electronic work on security systems.

The other guys do a lot more outside than I do (which will change next year) but in the mean time your opinion of America is based on bad information just like most Europeans have.

I too am talking about members of this forum.

I've been a delivery man on a wine truck. I've been in the military and spent a lot of time getting up and deploying in the middle of the night.

I've been a teacher. I've been a communications technician, and these days I'm a "glorified security system repairman". I work inside, outside, snow, rain, sleet, nice weather, but not as much as I'd LIKE to do.....

I know what Ryan and Backstop do. Not as sure about Mal. I know what many of the other folks do here, and seriously, most of us don't have cushy, sit-at-the-desk jobs.

    Meekly raises hand

    I work at my desk.

I also work out in the factory outside of my office but my _real_ work happens here at the computer.

My core job is writing software programs that interface with hardware but I also design hardware and fix hardware. I also do everything computer. Hardware, OS, networking infrastructure, etc.

What I think we're getting at Peterle, is most of the guys here aren't lazy slobs who only want to sit at a desk and can do other things outside of something "intellectual" like click on keys on a keyboard.

I too can program some stuff (older languages) - but unlike Mal I don't do real programming which I do envy to some extent (it's an art and a science I have not the ability to do more than small pieces of code for things, a single job these days).

But most of us can lay concrete pretty well, build a wall, work on cars (I will stop right there because I can't REBUILD a car either, but I am not a mechanic by any means).

Chop wood, wire a house, fish, hunt, track, know twenty ways probably to kill a man.... you see we're not just one-job people most of us.

Most homeowners can do some rudimentary dry walling, wiring, plumbing and such.

There are CERTAINLY food stamp people Peterle, but its not the folks that visit this site.

I fess up. As an architect working for a colorado municipality, I do spend a great deal of time behind a desk. I hate it. Whenever I can, I grab a city Jeep and head out to job sites.

I have been mulling over doing a poll here on the site. Unfortunately, I've been swamped at work here and evenings are full too.

Basically, I'd like to get folks' opinions on the title of this thread.

One of our "late users" said America is evil. Those weren't his exact words but essentially he has issues with America and Americans. And he is an American living in a foreign country.

The title of the thread is: America will face Riots, Marches, and Revolution
My question is "What is your personal, gut feeling on this? Will America have an internal Revolution with in the next ten years?"

Revolution is defied as "a fundamental change in power or organizational structure that takes place in a short period of time".... Also, "A turn around of power".

Personally, I believe the "Revolution" has begun. There are no gun shots, riots or battles with Government forces, or Civil War.

But I think that America has started to undergo this "fundamental change" directly related to Obama himself taking over the functioning of the US Government, impressing his idealism of Socialism and with his lack of explanations as to his background and personal beliefs.

He says one thing, believes another. He has places our enemies upon a pedestal (Muslims, Communists, Socialism) and he has put down America as "an average" or "mediocre" place in the world to live or be from.

Essentially - the man has traveled little, had a good "Liberal" education, might not even be a legal US citizen and has run the economy into ground almost as if he were driving the train himself.

He has put into place powers on the several agencies of the government to enforce their own policies and to "Green" things. Doing this has placed massive regulations on Americans and Jobs.

I think the revolution will occur this next year in the Ballot Box - without fighting, but not without a very powerful economic collapse (at this point, this can be turned around too).

Obama and the Leftists in the government are about to be thrown out for the most part. The first "shots" were fired when the Conservatives took the House back.

Now we need the Senate, and eventually the Presidency.

    Just my own thoughts.

    Any others?

I don't think there will be an internal civil war, or a period of time without rule of law UNLESS one or more black swan events occurs. Even a currency collapse won't turn us into a chapter out of "Patriots" or "One Second After".

My short list of black swans are these known unknowns(timing):
    Canary Island Tsunami
    Multiple EMP
    Yellowstone Caldera eruption
    Captain Trips
    Lucifer's Hammer (Comet, Meteor)
A black swan black swan. (a real unknown unknown)

I have pretty much thought the same way for a very long time. I don't think we will ever go "lawless" unless as you say, Mal, that any of those things happen.

I can foresee any of them, but in particular a major, world-wide pandemic on the order of small pox or some other unknown diseases, an asteroid or Yellowstone.

I think there is a better chance of Yellowstone erupting before anything else. However, the chances of getting hit with a dangerous asteroid are pretty high as well. I haven't run the numbers lately, but I think it's 1 in 10,000 for the asteroid. Yellowstone has a 100% chance of occurring again. It's the WHEN will it occur problem.

As I said, I think we're already "In the Revolution" already. But it won't be fought with bullets.
