Inauguration to be shown in movie theaters

NEW YORK, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration will be screened live in 27 U.S. theaters, MSNBC said Monday.

The cable channel said it had reached a deal with Screenvision to put its coverage of the inauguration on 27 theaters in 21 markets, The Hollywood Reporter said. Admission will be free and tickets are being distributed at MSNBC.com.

The programming will be presented from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. EST.
The arrangement gives MSNBC an opportunity to reach an audience in movie theaters, and it gives theater operators a chance to bring people into theaters -- and perhaps sell some popcorn and beverages -- at a time of day when movie attendance typically doesn't amount to much, the report said.

The signal will not be high-definition, but the cable channel and Screenvision say the picture will be high-quality. MSNBC President Phil Griffin said, "It'll look great."

Griffin told the Reporter the exhibiting its inauguration coverage in movie theaters is intended to "reach people we've never reached before."
"We're going to do numerous things like that to get our name out there," he said. "Ubiquity is the name of the game in 2009."

As Inauguration Day approaches and Barack Obama prepares to assume his first term as president, some in Congress are hoping to make it possible for the Democrat to not only seek a second term in office, but a third and fourth as well.
The U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary is considering a bill that would repeal the Constitution's 22nd Amendment prohibiting a president from being elected to more than two terms in office.

Eye for an Eye: Arab Attacker Killed by his Own Rock

(IsraelNN.com) A Palestinian Authority Arab who stoned cars in Samaria was killed by one of his own rocks, police have concluded. A Jewish man held in connection with the death has been released.
The Arab teenager hurled heavy stones at Israeli-owned vehicles along a Samaria highway last Tuesday evening. He managed to hit one car, which was driven by a resident of the nearby town of Emmanuel.
Fearing further attacks, the driver fired a single shot in the air to frighten away the stone-thrower. He then contacted local security officers to report both the attack and his own response.

A short time later, Israeli paramedics received a report of an Arab teen found unconscious and badly wounded next to a highway. The teen suffered a serious head injury that appeared to be a bullet wound. Medical personnel rushed to the scene but were unable to save the young man, who died a short time later.
Police originally believed that the resident of Emmanuel who reported firing in the air had in fact fired at his attacker, killing him. The man was arrested and questioned. However, an initial forensic report showed that the attacker had not been killed by a bullet, and the detainee was released.
A final forensic report, released over the weekend, showed that the attacker was killed when a stone he threw hit the car driven by the man from Emmanuel. The stone hit the car's tire and bounced back at high speed, hitting the attacker and leaving him with a fatal head injury.

Head of Muslim group with admitted Hamas ties to offer prayer at Obama inauguration

Federal prosecutors last summer rejected claims that ISNA was unfairly named an unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation Hamas terror funding case.

ISNA has admitted ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas. The Muslim Brotherhood is waging, in its own words, "a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and Allah’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

And the head of ISNA is going to offer a prayer at Obama's inauguration.

President-elect Barack Obama's swearing-in Tuesday will incorporate several elements out of America's Masonic past.

One-third of the signers of the Constitution, many of the Bill of Rights signers and America's first few presidents (except for Thomas Jefferson) were Freemasons, a fraternal organization that became public in early 18th-century England.

Although it became fabulously popular in America, at one time encompassing 10 percent of the population, Pope Clement XII condemned Freemasonry in 1738 as heretical. The latest pronouncement was issued in 1983 by then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger - now Pope Benedict XVI - who called Masonic practices "irreconcilable" with Catholic doctrine.

Still, as the first president, George Washington had to come up with appropriate rituals for the new country. He borrowed many of them from Masonic rites he knew as "worshipful leader" of a lodge in Alexandria.

His Masonic gavel is on display at the Capitol Visitor Center. Until this inauguration, Washington's Masonic Bible - on which he swore his obligations as a Freemason - was used for the presidential oath of office. President-elect Barack Obama will use Abraham Lincoln's Bible.

The worshipful master administered the Masonic oaths. This was adapted to the president vowing to serve his country in an oath administered by the top justice of the Supreme Court.

I learned all this from Garrison Courtney, a 30-something government worker who gives Masonic tours of the District in his spare time. He is worshipful master at the Cincinnatus Lodge in Georgetown. Contrary to public perceptions of Masons being older white guys, current local membership is a racially and religiously mixed group of Gen-X men, he says.

They have, he adds, gotten a bad rap as a secretive organization.
"If people have questions, we will tell them," he says. "We're pretty open as an organization."

Calling themselves a "spiritual organization," Masons need only believe in a Supreme Being. Masons have grown nationally in recent years, he said, with 38 lodges in the District alone.

The late President Gerald R. Ford was the last presidential Mason.
"We actually had a Masonic procession to his casket while he was lying in state at the Capitol," Mr. Courtney said.

The inaugural parade, he tells me, began as a Masonic procession [a parade of Masonic notables] from the still-unfinished White House to Capitol Hill, where Washington traveled on Sept. 18, 1793, to lay the cornerstone for the Capitol. Lafayette Park was the site of a makeshift Masonic lodge, in which the Scottish stonemasons - then working on the executive mansion - lived.

Washington also ensured the boundaries of the District - each 10 miles along - formed a perfect square, which symbolizes ultimate virtue in Masonry.

"The whole idea behind the building of Washington was to convey the message about the new experiment, a new way of thinking the Founding Fathers had in mind," said Akram Elias, past grandmaster of all the District's lodges.

Whole books have been written about the Masonic imagery on buildings around the District. Many of their cornerstones were laid with Masonic ceremonies involving oil, wine and corn.

"All five statues in front of the White House are Freemasons," Mr. Courtney said. "Every single one of the statues on Virginia Avenue are as well. Masonry is ingrained in the city and in the American culture."

Noble Energy reports big gas find off Israel’s coast

Houston-based Noble Energy says it’s made its biggest discovery ever, a huge natural gas field off Israel’s coast in the Mediterranean Sea .

Exploratory drilling shows the Tamar prospect off the coast of Haifa appears to hold 3 trillion cubic feet of gas—roughly the same amount as the company’s existing gas reserves. In a written statement, Noble Chairman and Chief Executive Charles D. Davidson said additional data could prove the find even bigger.

“Tamar represents our first exploratory well offshore Israel in more than five years,” Davidson said. “This is one of the most significant prospects that we have ever tested.”

Noble Energy operates the well and owns a 36 percent stake in the project. Other investors include Isramco Negev 2, Delek Drilling, Avner Oil Exploration and Dor Gas Exploration.

“We are witnessing an historic moment in Israel’s energy market,” Israel’s National Infrastructure Minister Binyamin Ben Eliezer said in a statement reported by Reuters. “If it turns out in a few weeks that the indicators received in recent days are true, then we are talking about the biggest find in Israel’s history.”

Stocks of the Israeli companies partnered with Noble Energy jumped in late trading in Tel Aviv on Sunday. Noble Energy’s stock is not trading today because the New York Stock Exchange is closed for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

ROMANS 13 & CHRIST'S "CLERGY RESPONSE TEAMS"

Pastors across the country have been called on by the Department of Homeland Security to join “Clergy Response Teams” in order to placate and control the people of America in the event of local or national emergencies. Jeff Ferrell, a reporter for KSLA in Shreveport, claimed that “For the clergy team, one of the biggest tools that they will have in helping calm the public down or to obey the law is the bible itself, specifically Romans 13.” This idea was affirmed in the report by Dr. Durell Turberville who was quoted as saying, "because the government is established by the Lord, you know. And, that's what we believe in the Christian faith. That's what's stated in the scripture."

I believe that we may be “endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,” and “ to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, but I do not see where that gives us a right to blame God for the governments we establish by that consent for ourselves.

According to the Bible when the “voice of the people” elected Saul and established a government under his authority, God called it a “rejection” of Him.

“And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.” 1 Samuel 8:7

When the Israelites were freed from the bondage of Egypt by Moses the people were told in Deuteronomy 17:16 to never go back to that type of government again. Even Jesus said we were not to be like the governments of other nations, where their benefactors exercise authority one over the other.

“And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. But ye shall not be so...” Luke 22:25, Matthew 20:25, Mark 10:42

Certainly all governments are not established by God. Were the governments of Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, all ordained by God? What of George the III? If all governments are ordained of God, Americans owe George a sincere apology and should learn to sing God save the queen.

So, what is Paul trying to tell us in Romans 13? Today, when any Christian attempts to question the authority or right of government to limit the rights, choices, or liberties of the people they commonly hear pastors and other Christians reciting Romans 13. Unfortunately these pastors and their followers are under a strong delusion that has crept into the thinking of modern Christians.

Romans 13, in the King James version of the Bible, begins:

“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” Romans 13:1

We should have a hard time understanding this statement by Paul to mean that we must be obedient to all governments, while, Paul himself was constantly getting into trouble with governments for supposedly disobeying. All we have to do to resolve this apparent dilemma is honestly look anew at the text itself.

In any unabridged English dictionary the word power can have over a dozen different definitions. The question is which of these many definitions should we apply to our thinking when we read these words of Paul? Does it mean the authority of government, the power to act, or the right to choose?

To understand Paul we simply need to know what the word Paul actually used and what it truly means within the context of the Bible. The word translated into power in Romans 13 is one of more than half a dozen Greek words which are all translated into the single English word power within the New Testament.

The Greek word used in Romans 13 by Paul is exousia, which is defined: “power of choice, liberty of doing as one pleases." It is translated “right” in Hebrews 13:10 and Revelations 22:14, and it is even translated “liberty” in Paul's own 1Corinthians 8:9.

Everywhere in the original text of the Bible the translation of exousia as liberty or right would fit the context of scripture. One may translate it as power, but only in the sense of the power of choice. Most modern ministers might object to this conclusion and no one should merely take my word for this interpretation. What is the opinion of others concerning the word exousia? Does it mean the power of government, or the power of choice?

In Plato's notes, we find the "Greek words for freedom (are) eleutheros (liberal/Free), exousia (Freedom/Power to do something), ..." You would think that Plato would know what the words meant back then.

In Bryn Mawr's Classical Review, the word exousia is said to express “the new concept of freedom, in opposition to the already defunct and unhelpful eleutheria." Even the Greek Glossary of Aristotelian Terms states that exousia means “right”. Aristotle, another guy who should know what the Greek actually means exemplifies exousia's use in the statement, "The right (exousia) to do anything one wishes..."

The Greek word exousia is considered to be one of the strongest words in the Greek language representing the idea of liberty. Accepting the idea that Romans 13 is actually a statement by Paul in support of individual liberty, rather than a command to submit to the commands of authoritarian rulers, will be difficult for some pastors and Christians alike to admit.

There should be no question that the word exousia in the original text means power in the sense of “the right to choose” or “liberty of choice.” And if so, then Romans 13 should be read and understood as saying:

“Let every soul be subject unto the higher liberty. For there is no liberty but of God: the liberties that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the liberty, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the liberty? Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same.” Romans 13: 1,3

Can this really be true? Was Paul talking about liberty and not the subjugation of the people under rulers? From the beginning to the end, the Bible is talking about the liberty of men under God rather than the subjection of the people under other men like Cain, Lemech, Nimrod, Pharaoh, and even Herod or Caesar. If God endowed us with our right to choose why would he want us to give that right to choose to other men? Understanding that the word exousia can and does mean liberty seems to turn the world upside down for some ministers.

Pastors need to reexamine what they have been led to believe the authors of the Gospel are actually saying. If not, then the people need to reexamine the scriptures and maybe their pastors. We all need to rightly divide the word of truth, because many have been cunningly deceived by some who have “crept in unawares... denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Jeff Ferrell, the KSLA-TV reporter, also stated that, “Such clergy response teams would walk a tight-rope during martial law between the demands of the government on the one side, versus the wishes of the public on the other.”

First of all, the lawful demands of a “government of the people, for the people, and by the people” would be the same as the “wishes of the people.” If they are not the same, then something is not as it should be. Secondly, the “wishes of the people” who believe in God can never usurp the rights of their neighbors without doing violence to the command of God, Moses, and Christ to love our neighbor as ourselves.

God desires that every man should have the unimpaired and divine right of choice as long as that choice does not violate the right of our neighbor to make his own choices. There is a distinction between the privileges of governments granted by the people and the rights of the people granted by God, but the ministers of Christ should not be trying to walk that line as a tightrope. They should be squarely on the side of the people and their God given rights.

The Church was instituted by Christ to serve the purposes of God. The governments of the world usually have their own administers. One of God's purposes is to return every man to his family and to his possessions through the exercise of faith, hope, and charity in the ways of Christ under the perfect law of liberty. While we should give to Caesar what is Caesar's we are also told to give to God what is God's. Often governments may think they have a right to that which should belong to God. That would be an intolerable usurpation and it is the job of the clergy to be on the side of the people on God's behalf.

Abraham, Moses, and Christ came to set men free in spirit and in truth. The “Clergy Response Teams” of Christ must act in the service to His purposes, even if that means that they may appear to disobey the demands of men or their governments.

"Then Peter and the [other] apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men." Acts 5:29

If lies and deception are the bars and bricks that form our own mental prison, then vanity and pride are the mortar that binds them together. From the beginning, our Creator has allowed that men have the power to choose to be free souls under God or go under the authority of other men and their gods. That choice is never without consequences. We are not faithful to God unless we choose to accept the inherent and correlative responsibilities of those Natural Rights He has individually endowed upon all mankind.

We must not only care about the rights of others, while exercising our own, but we must fulfill that obligation without infringing on the rights of our neighbor to make their own choices. To accomplish that mission prescribed by God we must discover the whole truth and provide for it.

An Inaugural speech that recognizes America's religious patchwork

Opinions on Barack Obama's Inaugural Address will fall from the sky like snowflakes in the days and weeks ahead. And certainly there are historians and professional speechwriters better able to offer a critique than I. But I would like to offer a light winter dusting if I could on what the speech had to say about faith.


This was an inaugural that mentioned God three times, if you don't count the pre-requisite closing of "God Bless America."


Obama referred to the "God-given promise that we are all equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness." He referred to the "source of our confidence -- the knowledge that God calls on us to shape an uncertain destiny."


And he closed with a flourish about facing the current dangers "with eyes fixed on the horizon and God's grace upon us..."


And Obama borrowed a phrase from the Apostle Paul (1 Cor.13:11) when he said: "We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things."


But more interesting than God references were passages that showed Obama has a pretty good understanding of America's diverse religious landscape. Chief among them was this one: "For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus -- and non-believers."



The passage was loaded with subtexts.


The phrase 'we are a nation of Christians and Muslims' made me think immediately of the whisper campaign that constantly dogged Obama throughout the election season -- that somehow his Christian faith wasn't genuine and somehow he was secretly a Muslim.


To me, this sounded like a signal that we have moved SO way beyond the whispers and that it is important to realize that Christians and Muslims are already living together peacefully under the Stars and Stripes.


The reference to Jews and Hindus, while not as potent, parallels Obama's inclusion of rabbis and Hindus in the National Prayer Service on Wednesday. By going beyond the Abrahamic faith to include Hindus, Obama showed an understanding that America's religious quilt is indeed more complex than ever before. And I wonder is this the first inaugural speech to ever mention Hindus?


The same may also be true for Obama's reference to non-believers. Ironic that it should come after atheists and agnostics, the out and out secularists, have so loudly complained that the Obama inauguration had become inundated -- swamped, if you will -- with religious fervor. Importantly, Obama recognizes that -- under America's big tent -- there is a place too for those who check 'none of the above' on the question of faith.


Interesting too was the direct shout out to the Muslim world that Obama made when he said "we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect."


Something about it felt awkward since he had already mentioned that we are a nation of "Christians and Muslims." The Muslim world, in a sense, includes America's own shores. But given that Muslims around the globe - and some here in the U.S. - have wondered whether the Bush administration's foreign policy was really a holy war under other pretenses, perhaps these words were necessary.


I thought Obama made a direct hit against terrorists the world over -- and particularly those who rely on religious fervor as a rallying point -- when he said that they should "know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy."


It will be interesting to see how that sort of rhetoric, spoken by a man named Barack Hussein Obama, will resonate in the Arab world.


In the end, this speech may not have the walk-away line that we would like to remember decades from now. I can't see an "ask not" moment or "all we have to fear" signature line in the mix. But there is a lot of meat on the bones of the words Obama delivered today.

And that alone is the sign of a pretty good speech.

I don't get it. I mean, he could have at least been a little bit more progressive about the whole thing. Something like: For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are currently bumping victorious and populating Muslims way up a notch while pushing those loathsome Jews down to the level of pretty much invisible Hindus where they belong--for now; until one day Islam rules the world and all American infidels are going to be in some way useful to us. (He he he. No worries, I kind of had to mention the Jews is all. And you know I didn't have any choice but to list Christians first.)

I saw this vision from Ken Peters over 10 years ago.

Then recently found news articles now illustrating a tattoo MARK now being implemented on all livestock and pet animals.

I then remembered Ken's testimony from over a decade ago and how similar it is to what we are seeing today in the news.

The part that struck me as strangely similar is the news articles are now illustrating a "sun burst" like tattoo MARK.

I'll follow up with some posts below.

Maybe it's all coincidence but something about it doesn't feel right as world banks are about to be consolidated while here in America we are about to experience big change on the horizon.

I went to sleep as any other night. I began to dream in vivid color. At times these events seemed chronological, at other times seemed to be more panoramic.

Everyone wanted to know what happened and where did the people go that came out of the graves?
Absolute hopelessness was in every heart, people were totally perplexed.
The whole world was in absolute disarray.
Television and radio communications were completely shut down for several weeks.

I walked the streets in shock. Everywhere there was absolute fear and lawlessness. Looting and murdering everywhere.

This new man, whom I believe was the Antichrist, was emerging to lead us.
This man, with olive skin and dark hair, spoke with great eloquence and charisma.
He was soothing and promised answers to all the problems.
This man was smooth and extremely convincing — he was a master communicator.
He explained how this removal of people was Gods judgment upon them.
He began to communicate through large, flat screen televisions strategically placed nearly everywhere. Everywhere I looked all radios and televisions on all channels and frequencies were his speeches. That is all you could get on all radio and television twelve to fourteen hours a day.
Hitler was not accepted when he first began, but this man was immediately accepted by almost all people.
He gave new direction for the whole world. He spoke of the "new times" upon us as human beings, new directives for global peace and
the need to give up current citizenship for "world citizenship".
This man constantly spoke of "World Order" and the benefits of all men dwelling together in peace.
This alarmed me to think of relinquishing my US citizenship,
I was not convinced of this mans "New Order".
My freedoms and patriotism were instantly eroded.
People around the globe in staggering rates accepted his new plan.

Nearly hopeless, I began to search for answers. While walking the streets one day, I met an elderly gentleman. Everyone else was in despair but this man was friendly looking. I asked him if he knew what was going on in the world?
He told me the end was coming and that he had not prepared for the time of the Lord. At this statement sadness filled his countenance. He said to me he had not been right with the Lord and began to tell me
Gods plan for mans salvation. He carefully pulled a small Bible from his back pocket and began to show me scriptures revealing my need for a Savior. My heart began to fill with joy as
I asked Jesus Christ
to forgive me for my sinful ways and
to fill my heart!
This man had a small following of others who had accepted the message of Jesus Christ. Even though we were a small group, we began to make significant progress in spreading the gospel and meeting the physical needs of others.
Our spreading the gospel seemed to work out in the most unusual ways. We could tell God was with us. This small band of Jesus followers had faith. This was completely abstract to my thinking that God would actually be involved in the everyday affairs of those who followed him faithfully. [ ^ Events surrounding this prophecy.]

One day a great earthquake shook the whole earth with extreme magnitude. [ MAT 24:7, MAR 13:8, LUK 21:11, REV 6:12, 8:5, 11:13, 11:19, 16:18, ISA 24 ] Millions of people were killed and the whole world was stunned by the devastation and loss of property and life. [ LUK 21:26 ]
I saw a tall triangular building with a glass exterior fall and kill two hundred people. This building was not in existence when I had this dream, but it is now in the very place I saw it fall.
The earthquake was worldwide and I had never heard of such an event reaching global proportions. [ ^ Events surrounding this prophecy.]

The weather completely changed. I saw winter weather in the summertime, summer weather in the winter. Winter became summer and summer became winter.
No one could predict weather patterns. All weather forecasts proved useless, it was as though the weather now had its own mind.
Crops perished. Droughts brought famines and deaths. Deaths brought global pestilence. [ ^ Events surrounding this prophecy.]

Local police departments were replaced with world military police.
They drove very unusual looking vehicles — now known as Hummvees or Hummers.
The men that were in them were dressed in all black uniforms with powder blue helmets. Some wore what looked like baseball caps. All of them were powder blue — now I know it to be United Nations blue. [ ^ Events surrounding this prophecy.]

The new leader and his laws were not resisted. There were no longer any elected officials. The Constitution was not the law of the land. It was shocking how easily our Constitution was replaced with a peaceful "martial law". There was no privacy. Military police were everywhere, tracking and monitoring everyone and everything. I thought, "How did this happen to America so quickly and easily without resistance? Where were the ideas of our founding Fathers?"
We were totally monitored and tracked. As time passed we came to realize that our television sets not only broadcast to us but also transmitted signals back to the military about us. We discovered our television sets were somehow watching us as if they were cameras with microphones! Television continually explained to us that we were now being saved from all their troubles by aligning ourselves with this "New Order". The "New Order" was said to have all the answers to our problems. This new leadership was necessary to bring change, to finally bring in the "New Order" of envisioned global peace. My work with the "Evangelist man" continued to increase. Many so-called "Christians" were being changed by the power of the Gospel this man taught us. These backslidden Christians explained how they had once had a relationship with Jesus but became cold in their faith and fell away from a life of holy, passionate, pursuit of God. For a short period of time, many people came to Christ in total surrender. [ JER 16:19-21 ] [ ^ Events surrounding this prophecy.]

One day a man approached me and told me that I should get my identification mark. He told me we could no longer conduct business transactions without this identification mark on our right hand or forehead. It looked like the sun with a hand in the middle.

Motorola developing digital tattoos and “smart pills” for next-gen wearables

Motorola‘s big vision for mobile isn’t just the Moto X smartphone: the company also has wearable, tattoo-embedded, and even swallowable gadgets in the pipeline. Motorola’s Advanced Technology and Projects Group chief Regina Dugan – former DARPA chief – showed up at D11 sporting an electronic tattoo that could be worn on the skin for a week at a time, and used to cut through the numerous authentication processes we go through every day.




The tattoos rely on a new, stretchable electronics system that can keep working even as it flexes on the wearer’s arm. As Dugan says, while criticisms of wearables like smartwatches include suggestions that young people won’t want to wear them – something Tim Cook commented on – it’s much more likely that the demographic would want to use a digital tattoo.

It’s not the only high-tech security system Motorola’s group is looking at. “I take a vitamin every morning: what if I could take an authentication vitamin?” Dugan asked, before whipping out a Proteus smart-pill.



That pill contains a “switch” and an “inside-out potato battery”, Dugan explained, which creates electricity from the chemical processes in the body when swallowed. The result is the switch toggling on and off, and creating an 18-bit ECG-like signal.

“Essentially your entire body becomes an authentication token,” Dugan concluded, before laughing off suggestions by AllThingsD’s Walt Mossberg that Google – which owns Motorola – might insist on employees swallowing one of the pills every day. The technology itself still needs work, she admitted, but the pills are safe for human consumption: you could take multiple each day for the rest of your life, she argued.

Unsurprisingly, none of the projects Dugan and her team are working on will necessarily arrive any time soon. First up, in fact, is the new Motorola “Moto X” smartphone, which the company chief Dennis Woodside said is due to hit the market in 2013, and will include various sensors that will trigger automatic responses depending on how the user is treating their phone.

RFID ink product could track humans

A US company has launched a chip-less RFID (radio frequency identification) ink that can be used to track both animals and people.

Visible or invisible ink “tatoos” can be applied to the skin and tracked by RFID readers positioned a few feet away.

The company, Somark, said it had successfully tested its Biocompatible Chipless RFID Ink product on cattle and laboratory rats and proved the “efficacy of injecting and reading a ‘tattoo’ within the skin of animals”.

The technology will be used initially in the livestock industry to help identify and track cattle, and help mitigate export trade loss from BSE scares.

Secondary target markets include laboratory animals, dogs and cats, prime cuts of meat and military personnel, according to the company.

Ramos Mays, Somark chief scientist, said, “This proves the ability to create a synthetic biometric or fake fingerprint with Biocompatible Chipless RFID Ink and read it through hair.”

Chipless RFID Ink Tattoo animal ID system

ST. LOUIS, Mo., January 29, 2008

SOMARK Innovations, Inc. recently completed a field demo of its patented Chipless RFID Ink Tattoo animal ID system. The demo proved the SOMARK system’s ability to apply a tattoo in less than three seconds and read the tattoo (translate the tattoo into a unique ID, with a handheld reader in real time). The demo was conducted at a private facility in the U.S.

“This is a giant leap for the company,” said Mark C. Pydynowski, SOMARK President. “This demo proves our system’s ability to function quickly and automatically. Previous tests, which confirmed the technology’s feasibility, were slower and required some tasks to be performed manually.”

SOMARK’s system includes a disposable ink cartridge, a multi-needle applicator and a handheld reader. This technology combines features of several common technologies, including human tattoos (ink-based and inexpensive), chipless RFID (machine-readable and no-line-of-sight), biometrics (unique to the individual) and hot-iron brands (permanent and tamper-proof).

“Although potential applications include cattle, pigs, horses, sheep, dogs, cats, mice, rats and prime cuts of meat, our primary focus is cattle,” said Ramos M. Mays, SOMARK inventor and CSO.

“SOMARK’s technology is distinct because, unlike conventional RFID, it is not constrained by metal, liquid or organic matter,” said Chris D. Justice, SOMARK VP of R&D who joined the company in 2007 after 10 years managing product development, including medical devices. “For example, we can deposit our ink directly on a metal substrate or liquid-filled container and read a unique ID without line-of-sight. This metal compatibility is critical for livestock environments because of the metal laden infrastructure of such facilities.”

All Australians could be implanted with microchips for tracking and identification within the next two or three generations, a prominent academic says.

Michael G Michael from the University of Wollongong's School of Information Systems and Technology, has coined the term "uberveillance" to describe the emerging trend of all-encompassing surveillance.

"Uberveillance is not on the outside looking down, but on the inside looking out through a microchip that is embedded in our bodies," Dr Michael told ninemsn.

Microchips are commonly implanted into animals to reveal identification details when scanned and similar devices have been used with Alzheimers patients.

US company VeriChip is already using implantable microchips, which store a 16-digit unique identification number, on humans for medical purposes.
"Our focus is on high-risk patients, and our product's ability to identify them and their medical records in an emergency," spokesperson Allison Tomek said.

"We do not know when or if someone will develop an implantable microchip with GPS technology, but it is not an application we are pursuing."

Another form of uberveillance is the use of bracelets worn by dangerous prisoners which use global positioning systems to pinpoint their movements.

But Dr Michael said the technology behind uberveillance would eventually lead to a black box small enough to fit on a tiny microchip and implanted in our bodies.

This could also allow someone to be located in an emergency or for the identification of corpses after a large scale disaster or terrorist attack.

"This black box will then be a witness to our actual movements, words — perhaps even our thoughts —-and play a similar role to the black box placed in an aircraft," he said.

He also predicted that microchip implants and their infrastructure could eliminate the need for e-passports, e-tags, and secure ID cards.

"Microchipping I think will eventually become compulsory in the context of identification within the frame of national security," he said.

Although uberveillance was only in its early phases, Dr Michael's wife, Katina Michael — a senior lecturer from UOW's School of Information Systems and Technology — said the ability to track and identify any individual was already possible.

"Anyone with a mobile phone can be tracked to 15m now," she said, pointing out that most mobile phone handsets now contained GPS receivers and radio frequency identification (RFID) readers.

"The worst scenario is the absolute loss of human rights," she said.
Wisconsin, North Dakota and four other states in the US have already outlawed the use of enforced microchipping.

"Australia hasn't got specific regulations addressing these applications," she said.

"We need to address the potential for misuse by amending privacy laws to ensure personal data protection."

Uberveillance has been nominated for Macquarie Dictionary's Word of the Year 2008.

CHRISTIANS USE PROPHECY TO EXCUSE LAZINESS

In response to my two previous columns regarding the current development of a devilish New World Order, many professing Christians wrote me with comments to the effect that we should not be concerned about whatever global tyranny may be developing, because "it's all a part of God's plan," or "Jesus is coming soon," and similar statements. I, too, believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ to earth. But, then again, so did Christians from every generation over the last two millennia. In fact, the Apostle Paul was looking for the return of Christ while he lived (Philippians 3:20). But does anticipation of Christ's Second Coming excuse personal neglect, indifference, and downright laziness? Of course not.

Had pastors and Christians of colonial America believed and acted as most Christians believe and act today, this country would still be a Crown colony and we would never have known the freedoms and liberties that our forebears bequeathed to us. Christians of that era, however, believed that it was their duty and obligation to fight for right and do everything within their power to resist tyranny. They also believed that God would honor and bless their efforts, which He certainly did!

It is extremely difficult for me to reconcile the apathy and slave-like mentality that seems to permeate modern Christendom (in America) with both our own heritage and the very Word of God. For example, the Apostle Paul is very clear when he writes that a Christian must never "do evil, that good may come" (Romans 3:8 ). Yet, that is exactly what many, if not most, Christians are doing today.

When confronted with an obvious evil (a burgeoning tyrannical New World Order, not to mention a number of lesser evils), modern Christians will shrug and glibly say, "It's God's will; we must not oppose it," or words to that effect. This attitude says, "I will tolerate or even condone evil in order to hasten Christ's return."

In the first place, no one knows when Christ will return, no matter how many books or tapes they have produced to say they do. In Acts chapter 1, Jesus was asked by His disciples if He would, at that time, set up His kingdom. The first words out of His mouth were, "It is not for you to know." Oh, we can speculate, surmise, and make educated guesses, but that's the best we can do. It's time we were honest enough to admit it: only God knows when Christ will return. In fact, Jesus said, "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only" (Matthew 24:36).

In the meantime, millions of Christians across America are trying to play God. They talk as if they know when Christ will come. It's actually worse than that. They have the attitude that they have no personal responsibility to defend freedom and resist despotism. They seem to look at God as some kind of glorified fireman, who is obligated to rush in at the last minute to rescue them from a burning fire--a fire that they helped ignite, or at least, refused to put out themselves when they had the opportunity to do so. It's the old, "God would not let that happen in America" syndrome.

How arrogant can we be? Ask believers from despotic regimes around the world what they think about God letting tribulation come, and they will quickly tell you, "We are already in tribulation." Are Christians in the United States really that arrogant as to believe that God loves them more than He loves believers in other countries? If not, can we not see that if believers around the world have suffered (and still suffer) the heavy hand of tyranny and oppression, it is certainly possible for tyranny and oppression to come to our land? The fact is, the only reason that Christians in America have not (for the most part) suffered tyranny and oppression is because of the hard work and sacrifice of our forefathers. We are simply enjoying the fruit of their labor.

In the second place, how do we know what God would do, if we only had the backbone to do our duty? How do we know that God would not give America "a new birth of freedom" for our children and grandchildren, if we only had the courage and fortitude to oppose the evil being thrust upon us by these would-be tyrants? America is only the "land of the free," because it was the "home of the brave." Take away the latter and we lose the former. And that is exactly what is currently happening.

In the third place, Christians have a moral imperative to resist evil, even if their efforts are fruitless. We are not responsible for outcome, only effort. Believers throughout history acted on principle, leaving the results with God. (Read Hebrews chapter 11.) Some were delivered; some were not. That did not matter. What mattered was doing one's duty. We Christians are to give our bodies as "a living sacrifice" (Romans 12:1). It is God's prerogative to use our sacrifice as He sees fit. Therefore, there is no such thing as a "losing effort," when it comes to doing right. Doing right (resisting evil) is its own reward. The three Hebrew children were not commended because God delivered them from the burning fiery furnace; they were commended because they were willing to go into the burning fiery furnace. So must we be.

I believe the real reason why so many professing Christians are so apathetic and indifferent to what is happening has nothing to do with the teachings of Scripture, Bible doctrine, eschatology, or anything of the like. It has everything to do with old-fashioned laziness. Today's average Christian just flat does not want to be bothered. He has a comfortable house, an easy chair, television, and a set of golf clubs in the closet. He takes two or three weeks' vacation every year, goes to church on Sunday (a church that does not intrude on his comfort zone, of course), pays taxes, and votes for his favorite "pro-life" Republican candidate every two years, and assumes that he is a "good" Christian and "patriotic" American. He is neither!

A real Christian patriot would never allow his country to be taken over by a gaggle of elitist goons bent on stealing his liberties--including his religious liberties--without doing everything in his power to prevent it. A real Christian patriot is active, alert, engaged, zealous, and committed to preserving liberty.

What if Jesus doesn't come for another 100 years? Another 200 years? What are we going to say to our grandchildren when they ask us what we were doing when our freedoms and liberties were being stolen? What will we say to our Christian forebears when we meet them in eternity? They sacrificed everything so that we could live in peace and freedom. What will we say to them? What will we say to God, who handed this land of liberty to us on a silver (albeit blood-soaked) platter?

Tell me again that "there is nothing we can do about it," or "it's God's will," or "Jesus is coming soon." Better yet, tell it again to the suffering Christians around the world; tell it again to our Christian forebears; tell it again to your children and grandchildren who are going to inherit a land of tyranny and oppression, all because you were too lazy to resist.

I know unbelievers who have more character and determination about preserving liberty than many who call themselves Christians. And I have a ton more respect for them, too. Our Lord told us, "For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required" (Luke 12:48 ). Yes, Christians in America have been given the best of both worlds, and many do not even appreciate it enough to see to it that their own children--their own flesh and blood--will live to enjoy the same blessings. They are pathetic!

So, the next time you hear some piety-draped Christian talking about how he won't engage the enemy and fight for liberty, because of prophecy, or some other spiritually-sounding platitude, just remember, it has nothing to do with prophecy, or anything of the sort: it has everything to do with old-fashioned laziness. My feeling toward him is the same as that of Sam Adams (a fellow Christian) toward the Tories of old: "If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animating contest for freedom--go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!" Amen!
